Guidance There is a gear in our psyche, most of us, an assumption gear that falls in with the lay of the land, that goes along with whoever seems to be in charge and whatever people around us believe. This gear facilitates social organization but is a handle on our soul for people to use. This gear is what tells us we can’t do anything about something, that we are helpless. Questioning is the route to take back our own power. “Who sez?” as kids say. Questioning authority, questioning articles of faith everywhere.

Is this the first time you come here? Well … what to do:

*Go to Guidance (above ) which is a summary of the Messages. (Guidance is everyone’s favorite part.)

*Go to Group Analytical Tarot Cards Reading below.  One or more of those sentences has something to say to you.  Intuitively pick those out and decide whether to encourage or suppress them.  They are about you and the people around you.  They are about today and the days around it.  (It is a group message like a horoscope,  except Tarot isn’t based on someone else’s birth data,  so it can be specific,  accurate,  detailed and direct.  Our experiment here is  “How much more accurate is it?”)

Did you come here for your predictions?  –  You are done now –  See you tomorrow.

Without a question to focus the answer,  four cards can mean contradictory things,  especially when the Spread has a card that negates other cards.  Without a question also the pronouns in a group reading are more flexible,  especially in some of these Rider Waite Tarot spreads.  When a pronoun is in parentheses,  feel very free to substitute.  The question in a  ‘real’  individual reading supplies at least half the information!

Hierophant – Seven of Pentacles – Eight of Swords

Tell the visitors here something useful and meaningful to them.

Figuring out and Overcoming (Seven of Pentacles + Strength)

Figure out and overcome what – in the real physical world – is holding you back.

Figure out how to overcome the way a mindset holds you back.

You thought it was impossible, but all is well: You’ve got it under control.

You figure you should but can’t, and then you get yourself to.

Doing things the usual way limits me, so I am pondering how to keep routines down.

Yeah, there’s some physical limitations to overcome that we are figuring out.

This routine of mine could be fatal, so I think I’ll make myself quit.

Diagnose why you can’t do it and then fix the problem physically.

We achieve the impossible, and then wonder whether we should have.

Figure out how OK it is – for you – to stifle your opposition.

Some people can’t seem to respect you until you throttle them.

I have this feeling that I cannot get over that seems right to me.

You tame animals that people didn’t think could be.

Achieve the impossible by doubting the usual.

When it Seems Impossible (Seven of Pentacles + Eight of Swords)

When something seems like it cannot be done, there’s a barrier to the physical plane to overcome.

It seems I can’t straighten the situation out, that it’s OK with me.

If I’m helpless, I must be entitled to assert myself, right?

I seem to be stuck in a boring straitjacket here?

Why do we feel unable to resolve a problem in the real world sometimes?

She influences him to stifle his aggression; he seems to have no choice.

I can’t seem to make (myself) do what I should or do it correctly.

Why are official procedures to handling these problems so ineffective?

Overcoming these physical obstacles seems impossible.

Dragon Lady is Respectable (Hierophant + Strength)

Why does she seem respectable when she has this suffocating effect on us?

Her influence is stifling; she makes you wonder whether you are following the rules.

How is this fair? – he is helpless in her grip.

How can he figure things are normal when she suffocates him until he can’t move?

Can’t seem to have a normal life without supervision.

He has this suspicion that committing to a woman makes her his jail guard.

Now, Part Two,

Do you want to know a little, or a lot, about how this Tarot Verbatim ™ thing works? If so,

*Go to Learn Tarot by Observing section below. This tells about the combined four pictures in the Daily Spread –  the pictures above here.  It explains how these four cards get together in your mind to make the message.

*Go to Learn Tarot by the Pictures.  It is what each of the four cards,  by itself,  has to say.  It shows you how that illustration makes that card’s meanings in this Spread.

You can put all this together and intuitively see yourself how Tarot Verbatim ™ works.

Hierophant – Seven of Pentacles – Eight of Swords

We have all observed some situation in which ostensibly normal people permit a pushy nitwit to take control. Only another maverick will shatter the pattern. There is a ‘supposed to be like this’ gear in mammal psyche that bullies and politicians take advantage of. I think it lies right next to the ‘duh’ gear in the human brain, myself.

Today we invite you to inquire into the helpless feeling we get that paralyzes resistance to others’ influence on us. The message is to figure it out, that when we see what is happening we will have the nerve and the will to repossess our natural assertiveness.

Hierophant is the rules, the way things are supposed to be, the protocol, the official narrative we are born into, the shouldness we live with unless we are natural born sociopaths. Strength is influence being applied along those lines of conforming to those rules; but strength is also overcoming opposition to our own well-being. (Strength is about overcoming within oneself as well as overcoming external influences.) These two Rider Waite Tarot cards are our dominant story line.

Eight of Swords is the helpless feeling, is being boxed in, unable and ‘can’t.’ You could say Hierophant is the Box and Eight of Swords is being in the Box. And of course the helpless feeling is the way the lion who attacked Strength experiences as he purrs through gritted teeth.

Seven of Pentacles is figuring out – is asking the question, doubting the situation or the outcome. Seven of Pentacles is innocently and naturally quizzical as in ‘Who’d a thunk it?’

These four cards read like the basic outline of any novel: The problem, the solution, and how it happens … or doesn’t. Our messages is THAT general; it can be applied to just about anything, so … let’s scratch our heads.

Hierophant Religions have the same propaganda machines as governments, since the dawn of time, so that the official story … the ones we in the West learn in the nurseries of our temples … is very different from what a devotee would discover, which in turn is very different from where the religion’s center is. This is called ‘historical narrative’ – this process of keeping a version for the peasants that is very watered down. So here is the pope doing an official ceremoney with attendant monks. Hierophant is the rules, the way things are supposed to be, the protocol, the official narrative we are born into, the shouldness we live with unless we are natural born sociopaths.
Seven of Pentacles Huh? Basis for doubt lies within the situation which contains the assumption itself. Assumption: You plant, it grows, you have cucumbers. Fact: Not unless both genders of the plant are close enough by. People who have a gift for the ‘Huh?’ are blessed with insight and cursed with having to deal with the folks who assume there has to be cucumbers.
Eight of Swords Ain’t nothin’ you can do about it. You are tied up, unable, disabled, blind to, helpless, beyond help: You are in the Box. The walls of the Box are made of ‘can’t.’ The Illustration shows the bindings are loose on the lady tied and blindfolded in the swamp below the castle.
Strength Really, the theme of Strength is that strength of character overcomes the fiercest opposition: that your will is all you need to resolve opposition or mend a situation – both internal and external opposition. The lion came to attack her but she nullifies his attack through her higher-plane credentials – expressed in the eternity symbol over her head, the white gown with the garlands. She turns his roar to a purr, and there ain’t nothin’ he can do about it.

Yeah it is difficult to establish boundaries with the in-laws. Then explain why you need those boundaries to the apple that fell from their tree!
I need to follow my agenda.

    • The apple had no problem doing that.

Once you get into the hang of acting only within your reason, it is easy to keep doing it. When I was in first grade all the adults in the school harangued me for three days about not talking to cloth. I explained I wasn’t a teakettle, so I didn’t ‘bend me over and pour me out,’ and I wasn’t a bee so I didn’t buzz-buzz on the way to reading class. That wasn’t the same thing, they said.

      Yes, it is. I proclaimed.

      HOW? said they.

“All are making noises with your mouth and movements with your body that make no sense.”

I was refusing to salute the flag, you see: talk to cloth.

Finally, the very smart lady principal just asked me to put my hand over my heart and fake it, PLEASE! PLEASE! Just for me?

Okay. Sounded like a deal to me.

  2. Sue

Wow, this was almost exactly the conversation I had with my father. My daughter was late for school, and I wasn’t rushing her. He got really mad in a reflexive sort of way.

I try to teach my daughter to follow the rules enough so the administration thinks she’s playing and leaves her alone, but her heart and sense of right and wrong are the real rules.

” the ‘duh’ gear in the human brain “. Thanks for the inspiration, I love it.

I swear you can feel a feeling like coming out of the ocean and having the weight of your bathing suit pull you back down to the water… that kind of sensation.

It never happens if you don’t believe in anything, though.
