Guidance   We explore delusional thinking common to all of us today, that we don’t label or recognize as delusional, such as ‘She puts an end to her foolishness only when it becomes her problem.’ and ‘It’s one problem after another when the woman doesn’t understand me.’ The advice is also about not thinking the worst: ‘It really isn’t so bad after all: See it that way.’

Is this the first time you come here? Well … what to do:

*Go to Guidance (above ) which is a summary of the Messages. (Guidance is everyone’s favorite part.)

*Go to Group Analytical Tarot Cards Reading below.  One or more of those sentences has something to say to you.  Intuitively pick those out and decide whether to encourage or suppress them.  They are about you and the people around you.  They are about today and the days around it.  (It is a group message like a horoscope,  except Tarot isn’t based on someone else’s birth data,  so it can be specific,  accurate,  detailed and direct.  Our experiment here is  “How much more accurate is it?”)

Did you come here for your predictions? –  You are done now –  See you tomorrow.

Without a question to focus the answer,  four cards can mean contradictory things,  especially when the Spread has a card that negates other cards.  Without a question also the pronouns in a group reading are more flexible,  especially in some of these Rider Waite Tarot spreads.  When a pronoun is in parentheses,  feel very free to substitute.  The question in a  ‘real’  individual reading supplies at least half the information!

Thinking the Worst (Devil + Queen of Cups)

You keep thinking the worst: Stop it!

She isn’t thinking those dark thoughts anymore.

Mental anguish does not go on forever.

It really isn’t so bad after all: See it that way

.

Not Understanding (Queen of Cups + Two of Swords)

It’s one problem after another when the woman doesn’t understand me.

It’s the same problem over and over with him and she still doesn’t get it.

She puts an end to her foolishness only when it becomes her problem.

Can’t be frivolous around a deeply pessimistic woman.

Being unstable is a problem you don’t know you have.

She figures things out as she naïvely goes along not seeing the downside.

Figure out the loopholes, why I am not guilty.

A problem keeps happening until you think of a way to stop it.

Humor about a problem you don’t understand.

Hasn’t figured out why and it’s still hurting.

Is it still wrong if she doesn’t know?

Vertigo is a problem not just in your head.

She keeps thinking it isn’t her dear boy’s fault.

Up pops the devil again, just when you don’t think of it.

It can’t be! Must be something wrong with my thinking.

She keeps trying to think well of the devil.

Now that I think about it, it’s not wrong anymore.

Miscellaneous

It’s the woman’s obligation to put an end to it one way or another.

You can’t go on being snarly to the one who understands and likes you.

Don’t rock the boat, you know what a problem that can be.

Now, Part Two,

Do you want to know a little, or a lot, about how this Tarot Verbatim ™ thing works? If so,

*Go to Learn Tarot by Observing section below. This tells about the combined four pictures in the Daily Spread –  the pictures above here.  It explains how these four cards get together in your mind to make the message.

*Go to Learn Tarot by the Pictures.  It is what each of the four cards,  by itself,  has to say.  It shows you how that illustration makes that card’s meanings in this Spread.

You can put all this together and intuitively see yourself how Tarot Verbatim ™ works.

LEARN TAROT BY OBSERVING

Oh no, we don’t have an action card. To get what I feel are really good sentences, I whipped out the encyclopedia notes, made up seventy sentences, and pruned viciously. More than twenty ‘Mama steps in and puts a stop to the antics’ sentences. I deserve a pat on the head for this, okay?

Queen of Cups is thinking, thinking of her man, nice lady, and ‘she.’ You can make ‘I’ with this card, but never ‘he.’

Then we have continuing (Two of Pentacles) and stopping or not doing (Two of Swords). Those two make several phrases unexpectedly together.

Devil is the remaining Rider Waite Tarot card: problem, ugly, nasty, wrong, fault, obligation, hurt/hurting, downside, pessimistic, worse, guilty , anguish, bad, dark side. Others we are not using today – the whole ‘force’ and brutality end of Devil.

Our message has to be about wrong thinking. No action card; one that means stop and one that means go. Remaining cards mean ‘thinking’ and ‘wrong.’ Easy, huh? So we have a list of wrong thinking to enlighten us for the day.

LEARN TAROT BY PICTURES

Two of Pentacles The juggler in his silly uniform jitterbugs and whirls his plates around (connected with the eternity mathematical sign) as ships are tossed on tsunami waves behind him. Cycles, movement, silliness, repeated actions, keep trying (keep doing anything), go on, one way or another, rock the boat … things like that.
Devil Tarot is a consistent violator of the Laws of Random Distribution. Lectures about this were my introduction to Rider Waite Tarot. Devil shows up less frequently than others. He means ‘problem’ frequently. Such phrases and words as snarly, obligation, wrong, fault, hurting, guilty, downside, pessimistic, bad, anguish, dark and worst are his bailiwick. In Rider Waite, he’s the big bad ugly Christian devil. A naked couple reminiscent of Lovers card are tied with loose chains to his perch, and he has a torch upside-down in one hand. His horns belong to an extinct monster that had a cone-shaped mouth with spiral rings of teeth.
Queen of Cups Nice lady. Loyal wife. The blond naïve gal who believes in her man. She dreamily contemplates a funky artifact as water swirls around her throne, which is of course graced with cherub babies.
Two of Swords No. No farther. Can’t do that. Won’t. Stops here. Stop. A blindfolded woman in undergarments or nightdress holds heavy double-edged swords in such a way she can’t put them down, sitting at night on a stone bench with her back to a body of water. Very much stuck, which reminds you of Eight of Swords.

  1. Sue

I had the house to myself today. I cleaned the house, played the piano, read, and bought some lilacs. Tomorrow we are babysitting some baby chickens, I have piano class, and meeting a friend for Mexican food at high noon, when the sun has no shadow. Tea with another friend at night. This too much partying for an introvert like me, and a friend is recommending exercise, which I agree with. I’m looking for the delusion, but can’t find it today – but then crazy people think they’re sane, right?

    • win

Hey Sue, looking for excersize? Try the eight treasures by master Ni, Hua Ching, I’m sure you can find it online, you can cultivate physical and spiritual richness by activating your personal evalution by tagging into these motions, REALLY, just like the vail of awarness is continually being lifted with the real work from Emily. Very rich and real, but it does take a commitment of work to reap the energy which is gifted to us all. Just a thought.

      • Sue

Thanks, Win, I’ll look into the eight treasures and let you know how it goes, and yes, Emily is special. She changed the course of my life. Her advice about bite guards and lozenges was spot on too.

        • High noon is no longer twelve o’clock. That changed in 2003 in July. Thank you for that endorsement, Sue. Put it into a testimony, up there, if you would … both of you. People read them because they believe more what a person other than the author says.

Not too much partying if people you enjoy are sharing your day. It’s not all the time, either.

  2. Me

I need to see it as not so bad…because I have a lot of delusional thinkers around me, including me.

    • You know how New Agers brag that you make your own reality, that what you believe will appear – that it’s your fault you’re not rich and gorgeous type thing? Well, that is cultivating delusional thinking. You can program your mind to see things any certain way, and, by golly, good little mind, it will.

Nothing is so bad. You will live through it and forget it, whether it’s wonderful or whether it’s terrible.

“So we have a list of wrong thinking to enlighten us for the day.” Wow, the foolish richness of being human, thanks for the heads up, I think I’ll give up thinkning, and feeling for the time being ( right!!!! )! O.K.,, perhaps just the release of attaching myself to such personal follies, Great read Emily!

    • The subject is often not apparent as I type this. I see some obvious ones, then notice the more intricate relationship between pairs of the four, and I’m off onto something that gives me the feeling … maybe I should just choose four more and fergit about this. But there’s no time, and ‘that’s not the way to do it.'(It really seems this information ‘belongs’ to some reader.)
Today’s ‘delusional thinking’ was one of those themes. And, notice this is a recurring theme lately. Like the day that said if you don’t honor social contracts, you are not included in your circle and you aren’t aware of that. Amazing that the cards could express that in such detail.
      This is interesting.
