Guidance  Doubting your fears sabotages their hold on you. Why let scary stuff get to you? – lay your hands on it. If I pretend I’ve got everything under control, I just may have. I brought this awful situation on myself, so I think I will handle it myself. Our big point today is that raw unmitigated gall on your part has its uses: It handles the sneaky subversive pretenses that get past our usual (polite) defenses. Sometimes your tongue should be the nuclear deterrent that keeps others’ missiles at bay.

Is this the first time you come here? Well … what to do:

*Go to Guidance (above ) which is a summary of the Messages. (Guidance is everyone’s favorite part.)

*Go to Group Analytical Tarot Cards Reading below.  One or more of those sentences has something to say to you.  Intuitively pick those out and decide whether to encourage or suppress them They are about you and the people around you.  They are about today and the days around it.  (It is a group message like a horoscope,  except Tarot isn’t based on someone else’s birth data,  so it can be specific,  accurate,  detailed and direct.  Our experiment here is  “How much more accurate is it?”)

Did you come here for your predictions? –  You are done now –  See you tomorrow.

Without a question to focus the answer,  four cards can mean contradictory things,  especially when the Spread has a card that negates other cards.  Without a question also the pronouns in a group reading are more flexible,  especially in some of these Rider Waite Tarot spreads.  When a pronoun is in parentheses,  feel very free to substitute.  The question in a  ‘real’  individual reading supplies at least half the information!

Page of Cups – Nine of Swords – Six of Wands

Tell the visitors here something useful and meaningful to them.

Finessing Fear, Overcoming Scary (Nine of Swords + Strength)

Don’t let your doubts and fears erode your competence.

Outsmarting whatever you fear and whatever you doubt overcomes them.

Why let scary stuff get to you? – lay your hands on it.

I set straight the ridiculous notion that fears get the best of me.

It only seems to be something to worry about: You can finesse this situation.

This is awful, but if I pretend I’ve got everything under control, I just may have.

Why am I so heartsick about the games (they) play when I can just straighten (them) out?

Being different, you may worry about passing – just assert yourself, you know?

By not admitting you are afraid, you may just triumph.

Why worry about keeping up appearances that I am able to handle everything?

Friends who are actually enemies come against you, and you are supposed to be scared of them?

Why let being nervous control you when you can get a grip?

Let’s correct the cockeyed idea our fears are stronger than we are.

Why worry about him being insincere and sneaky when you can handle that?

Competent to Handle Deceit (Six of Wands + Strength)

I overcame being stupid about that, and it still upsets me that I fell for it.

Okay, you fooled me; but I’m done crying and I’m stronger now.

Secretly out to getcha, are they? – make them so sorry.

I brought this awful situation on myself, so I think I will handle it myself.

How sorry will you make (them) for living a lie?

I think some phoney friends got hurt when I handled that problem.

Being ripped off is heartbreaking; you have to deal with being made a fool of.

Overcoming Addiction (Six of Wands + Strength)

Her addiction made her do such silly things it scared her and she overcame it.

My nerves are shot, I am strung out: How did I get addicted to this what was supposed to be a cure for my problem?

Intimidating Women (Strength)

Is she getting him to be submissive by putting him in that much fear?

These intimidating women make you nervous, you wonder how you are going to get the upper hand.

She somehow or other makes them mind: They are so afraid of her, they conform.

She straightens out that *wanna-be smooth operator’s* act.

Bullshitting such an assertive female may keep you up nights.

That pushy woman will rue the day she put that over on me, won’t she?

Doubts and Fears (Page of Cups + Nine of Swords)

Doubting your fears sabotages their hold on you.

He doubts he really has the control of her that it seems – maybe she is pretending?

You know, this lady could be out to tame me: She has so much influence on me, I should worry a lot.

Maybe she can handle this, but I’m afraid it may get the best of her.

I doubt I can handle that; I am afraid it will get the best of me.

I suspect this is something scary that I can get sucked into before I get a grip on it.

I suspect this person has a secret intent to cause some grief so she can be the one to fix it.

Pretending I can handle opposition is getting to me, because I have some doubt about it.

He plays these silly games out of fear of a woman’s influence on him.

Out to hurt your feelings because you are so competent.

People who are takers get on my last nerve – somehow they just get the best of you, don’t they?

They aren’t really friends if they enjoy making you cry.

Page of Cups – Nine of Swords – Six of Wands

When you glance at these four, you go ‘Thank God for Strength’ because Nine of Swords (nightmare) and Six of Wands (betrayal) are ‘bad,’ and Six of Wands is a bad guy. Page of Cups casts doubt and is the idiot.

Strength, of course, is overcoming, finessing, handling: taming the monster.

Nine of Swords and Six of Wands do not produce the horrors you would expect of them combined: They strangely mitigate one another. In the present company (of the other two Rider Waite Tarot cards), there’s a sauciness, a quizzical mocking of fears, that I did not expect. Putting this together was fun.

Page of Cups Huh? Duh? Doubt. Feeling awkward, being an idiot, wearing the wrong clothes. Here’s a fellow who carries a fish in a cup, and is dressed in girls’ clothes. This is you on your dumb day.

Nine of Swords Be afraid, be very afraid. Worry and be up nights with bad dreams. Cry over your griefs. Your nerves are shot and you are up nights with your head in your hands.

Six of Wands We all know him/her. This is the sneaky bastard/bitch who pretended to be on our side and snitched us out. This is the lover, friend or whoever who misled and misused us. This is our trust betrayed. This is the traitor … and us undoing ourselves as well. The illustration is the betrayal of King Richard the Third by a relative who sat on his throne while the Arabs dutifully held Richard captive.

Strength We overcome when we are attacked either by ourselves from within or by something or someone else from without. We finesse a situation because we are competent like this gal in the white robe with the flowers and the eternity sign over her head is petting the lion who wanted to attack and ended up purring like a darn pet.

Oh Emily. This is so you! For me, Fear used to come when i didn’t know how to handle a situation, but that’s okay. I can learn. That’s what my brain is for. Now it is like a teacher, telling me what to study.

Try to figure out what makes you addicted to the person. What are you thinking and feeling when you’re around them. What does the feeling remind you of? Picture what it would be like if what you wanted actually did happen. What do you feel like then? Okay, so you got what you wanted, then what? What’s next?

    • Bravo. You are a born counselor. You could do that with Tarot, or go to school and be one or another kind of therapist. Don’t know whether they make money, but you would do well and feel good about solving the puzzles, which is what I do as well.

      • Sue

I dunno Emily, money for us is like blood to our cells. I can only do what feels right or my body rebels and I feel sick. Just follow what feels right and trust there will be enough money to live. I’m not much of a planner. My Dad says it’s my weakness.

        • Well, coincidence rules whether you plan or don’t. I can think of all sorts of turning points in my life where I made dumb decisions, and wonder where the course of the better choice would have led.
You can do everything right, and plan intelligently, and have a bus run over you.

Wow, so many phrases fit my situation, but especially this one:

My nerves are shot, I am strung out: How did I get addicted to this what was supposed to be a cure for my problem?
It’s not talking about a substance addiction, it’s a person addiction for me. I can’t believe I give someone so much control over my emotions.

  3. Me

“Don’t let your doubts and fears erode your competence.”

OK should be a challenge today. I had another riding accident and today I’m going over to Volunteer at the place where it happened.
