Our Daily Spread June 04, 2012 Monday©

Jun 3, 2012 by

Loss is our subject. Loss of friends. Desperate loss of our money. How it’s all survivable, however painful it is. We are taking an honest analytical look at where we are going with an eye to be in fine shape despite whatever downdraft or undercurrent is ahead on our road. We are looking out for friends while we’re at it.

Is this the first time you come here? Well … what to do:

*Go to Guidance (above ) which is a summary of the Messages. (Guidance is everyone’s favorite part.)

*Go to Group Analytical Tarot Cards Reading below.  One or more of those sentences has something to say to you.  Intuitively pick those out and decide whether to encourage or suppress them They are about you and the people around you.  They are about today and the days around it.  (It is a group message like a horoscope,  except Tarot isn’t based on someone else’s birth data,  so it can be specific,  accurate,  detailed and direct.  Our experiment here is  “How much more accurate is it?”)

Did you come here for your predictions? –  You are done now –  See you tomorrow.

Without a question to focus the answer,  four cards can mean contradictory things,  especially when the Spread has a card that negates other cards.  Without a question also the pronouns in a group reading are more flexible,  especially in some of these Rider Waite Tarot spreads.  When a pronoun is in parentheses,  feel very free to substitute.  The question in a  ‘real’  individual reading supplies at least half the information!

Five  of Cups – Page of Wands – Five of Pentacles

Tell the visitors here something useful and meaningful to them.

The Past Makes Us Better People (Five of Cups + Page of Wands)

See the truth because of things I now regret, and am a better person through things I am ashamed of.

Sorry for what I am missing, but you can see I am holding up just fine.

In poor times, we are demoralized and go in search of our self.

It’s a fact we have lost a lot and even feel pitiful, but we are still standing.

Knowing (he/she) is a better person because of (his/her) desperate situation in the sorry past, I can be a friend.

The suffering of our past shames us into being wiser and better people.

When I get the blues, I help street bums.

Taking a good analytical look at our downsides puts us in good shape.

Regrets his wasted youth on the road penniless and all alone.

A Loss of Self (Page of Wands + Five of Pentacles)

You lose a piece of yourself, let me help you make it through the night.

You really understand what you have lost when you have a physical impairment.

Not the good guy he used to be – is sick of being the man of peace.

Depressed and desperate to speak the truth.

Words of help and comfort when grief drains me.

I am an honest, good-looking, miserable failure.

Depressed about disability, he is older than he looks.

When people know he is less than the upright person he appears to be, it’s his loss.

Help in need is bad for my image.

A sense of personal loss when you demonstrate your bankruptcy.

Sees himself as he really is: so broke, ‘so sorry for myself.’

Watching ourselves lose everything, even the home.

I have lost face because, now that I need help, I am an inferior.

See myself as inferior, and am ashamed of who I am. [Sees himself as inferior and is ashamed of who he is.]

Looking at Losses (Five of Cups + Hermit)

Here’s a good looking fellow who will help you lose what little you’ve got.

Know, and sympathize with, personal failures.

Missing my best friend, the loss of someone to talk to.

When it looks like we are not getting our handsome man, we mourn the loss of him.

Friendly words and sympathy for the victims.

He is honestly and sincerely sorry about the terrible loss

Stated honestly, this is a lose-lose situation.

An honest person who is well-thought-of mourns a haunting loss.

I see I am still in fine shape despite financial losses.

I am watching out, helping friends who are in need in these bad times.

Missing, Doing without, Regretting and Being Sorry (Five of Cups + Five of Pentacles)

He is desperate doing without his helper.

He regrets the sweet things he said – is ashamed of them even though they were true.

To be on the road, missing (my) best friend and so sorry for (my)self.

Say you are sorry, apologize, and comfort me in my misery.

Five  of Cups – Page of Wands – Five of Pentacles

Uh-oh. Five of Cups and Five of Pentacles are similar cards about terrible loss. No way our messages are upbeat with these Tarot folks sitting at our conference table of the day. Five of Cups is regret, sadness, haunted by grief, preoccupation with the past, and sometimes alcoholics. Five of Pentacles is dark night of the soul, feeling sorry for ourselves because of the loss, numb with despair to the point of not seeing the way out.

But we’re in some luck. Hermit is here to help, who has an objective view, is our friend who looks out for us honestly and sincerely.

Page of Wands also is an honest person who talks to us. We are in good enough shape with these two for company.

Five of Cups On a gray day a bent figure in a black robe contemplates the wasted wine spilled on the barren soil, and has its back to the vessels that are still filled. Regret, sadness, haunted by grief, preoccupation with the past, and sometimes alcoholics.

Page of Wands This young well-dressed nice looking honest person talks to us. Today his main function is as a foil to the dismal losses his companion cards speak of. He is in good shape, he is proud of himself; he is not a loser.

Five of Pentacles dispossessed mother and sun in scant rags, him on crutches with bandaged foot, are on the street and in the dark night of the soul state, feeling numb with despair to the point of not seeing the way out of their misery for the night: a lighted cathedral.

Hermit A wise old man is here to help, who has an objective and analytical view, is our friend who looks out for us honestly and sincerely. He is looking for us, he seeks us out.

  1. Me

    This sounds really bad.

    • It seems part of the ‘red-letter’ trend. Tomorrow, as I said, is about downsides too. It clears up (big time) on Wednesday.

  2. FCP

    Bleh. And it’s Monday too.

  3. Candy

What are the chances hu? I had to text him to today and the spread was accurate. Its so hard because talking to him is so painful.

    • That is what texting is for: to avoid person-to-person interaction. That is why it is counterproductive in romance.

Wishing you a new Spring Studmuffin.

  4. Sue

Two dark days in a row? Yesterday was a close call. Loss always clears the way for something new, but still it’s hard. We’ll see what tomorrow brings.

    • Tomorrow is ‘off-label uses for downsides.’ Its message is to plan for the unexpected if you want to hold your course. The 6th describes normal life; you could even say it is boring. Very few sentences there because three cards mean giving, and all the cards are nice and normal in all their meanings.

So the fish survived? I actually sent the fish the best possible outcome.

      • Sue

Thanks for the fish wish : ). It has sort of made the mean fish nicer. He was so mean we named him Meany. He used to chase the other clouded barb around, but when they were sick, they hung together and checked on each other, and they get along now. Maybe this is the best possible outcome.

        • Yeah. God and his mysterious ideas again. Here’s to a fine fish friendship.

          • Sue

Emily, you are so damn psychic. Today my parents said they are going out of the country for two years at least in a few months because my brother is having a baby, and I feel such a big sense of loss. We started out not getting along, but after all this time we got everything fixed. I will miss them. My daughter will too.

          • Sue

Meany died. He recovered for awhile, but then he took a downward spin. We put his body in the bay even though he’s a fresh water fish. Today is a day of loss.

        • Hmm. Sometimes a mean person dies right after he cleans up his act, as if his biography should end on a high note because he is not going to be capable of maintaining the new level of consciousness in living.

I have seen several examples of this. It was the other fish that we were concerned about, and that I made the best possible result for. Which, come to think of it, might have included removing the mean fish. As I have said before ‘God is not a nice girl.’

        • Since your parents are elderly and going (I presume?) back to the home country, I would think they would make a will leaving you in charge of their United States possessions.

          • Sue

Everything is handled, don’t worry. I don’t like to be in charge of anything. It would be awful to have me in charge of anything. Just the thought of that freaks me out. My parents have a lot of life in them. They’re not elderly.
