Guidance   Today we examine being in the unassailable position in life, being above the fray. There are two ways to be in this superior position. One is to simply find the desirable defensible spot for ourselves and fit into it so well no one wants it; and the other is to fight for the spot everyone wants until we are the one who wins it. People who love the glory of the fight will always circle and stalk the latter winner, but those same people (who love to clash) hate clashing with the former type of occupier because they are going to be ignored and there’s no glory, no payoff. But, be aware also that certain types of clashes, by their very nature, go on forever, like a shapely woman being assailed, like salesmen of all stripes, and like Success.

Is this the first time you come here? Well … what to do:

*Go to Guidance (above ) which is a summary of the Messages. (Guidance is everyone’s favorite part.)

*Go to Group Analytical Tarot Cards Reading below.  One or more of those sentences has something to say to you.  Intuitively pick those out and decide whether to encourage or suppress them They are about you and the people around you.  They are about today and the days around it.  (It is a group message like a horoscope,  except Tarot isn’t based on someone else’s birth data,  so it can be specific,  accurate,  detailed and direct.  Our experiment here is  “How much more accurate is it?”)

Did you come here for your predictions? –  You are done now –  See you tomorrow.

Without a question to focus the answer,  four cards can mean contradictory things,  especially when the Spread has a card that negates other cards.  Without a question also the pronouns in a group reading are more flexible,  especially in some of these Rider Waite Tarot spreads.  When a pronoun is in parentheses,  feel very free to substitute.  The question in a  ‘real’  individual reading supplies at least half the information!

Nine of Wands – Seven of Wands – Three of Wands

Tell the visitors here something useful and meaningful to them.  Pronouns are up for grabs today – switch to any other.

Assuming the Unassailable Position (Seven of Wands + World)

She has no real opposition: You don’t accomplish anything against her.

Defending yourself constantly from pressures will make you immune to them eventually.

A defensive pushy person will be not pester her.

When you have no shame, no ‘handles,’ they aren’t going to ‘get to’ you with that kind of moral pressure.

She isn’t going to be interfered with even when she is anxious and uncertain about what is going to happen.

You can’t get my attention no matter how long you hang in there and howl at me.

Not giving a damn is a gift that will keep the pests from interfering with you. That makes them nervous.

You can stand up to the pressure, or you can simply not let it get to you.

You have endured the tension of a constant danger or threat for so long it doesn’t influence you.

You don’t even notice all this other pressure, with the struggle for the money to come in.

There will always be opposition, you don’t have to defend your position.

If you push yourself to be unapproachable when people are pushing you, then the pressure is on them to wait instead of on you, to resist.

Those people will always try to get face to face with you; you can always make them wait.

I’m going to break through that ‘glass ceiling’ if it’s the last damn thing I do.

Your effort will pay off, just hold your place right where you are.

After the long hard anxious push to get into being profitable comes ‘having it made’ and keeping others out.

Those people aren’t ever getting money from me no matter how persistently annoying they are.

Being put on the spot and defending ourselves against what is happening, that it’s not our fault.

You Hate Clashing with This (Nine of Wands + Seven of Wands)

Dread confronting her: She is always the pristine one.

It’s gonna be an uphill battle because (the girl) won’t fight.

Dreads clashing with someone who is impervious to accusations, and always will be.

How you dread getting in the face of someone who is simply going to ignore you.

Even when this person is anxious and uncertain, you just don’t f*** with him/her.

We are afraid we are not going to be able to defend our candidate against it, so nobody must know the dirt.

She has this attitude of being above it all, so they will be nervous about getting in her face about anything.

It’s just too hard, and will take forever, to wear down a person who does not know anybody and does not care.

Battles That Will Go on Forever (Nine of Wands + Three of Wands)

Don’t be bothered constantly trying to defend a shaky position.

It’s just another never-ending struggle, so don’t let it get to you.

She will always be beautiful and is accustomed to calmly holding her ground against being badgered.

I feel like this is going to be the Alamo but I hold out anyway.

A woman who looks that sexy will ignore you hitting on her forever.

She is a loner, she always puts you on hold when you stalk her.

Her guard is up, nothing gets past her unremitting concern about the income coming in.

Waiting for your money and they ignore your attempts to contact them.

Don’t let the wait for the money to come in get to you.

How long can we make defense-by-denial last?

Hang in there for a while longer, you can hold out against the pest.

Try as hard as you can to get your income coming in and then just wait it out, not letting it get to you. (“There’s a wall between me and a good income that I can just wait out, or put up a struggle with it.”)

He is always pushy like that, don’t take it personally.

This person has been so annoying for so long, and I am so used to him, that it will go on forever like this.

When you are holding the number one position, you are always going to be assailed by the competition.

He works himself into a lather forever keeping all those other men from his prize woman.

He really tries to keep your money from you; he sweats that out.

Nine of Wands – Seven of Wands – Three of Wands

Without a doubt we got ourselves the story of a contender and a defender here – a struggle – someone who assails you because you got it and they want it. The owner of the turf, in the animal kingdom, usually wins.

Here are our players: Nine of Wands is under pressure, nervous that there will be another clash over what he defends, but holding the ground like they did at the Alamo. Seven of Wands, in the Tarot Verbatim ™ system of Rider Waite, swings both ways. He can be the pushy contender who comes against the Occupier, or he can be defending the Position even against great competition.

Three of Wands, besides being income, is about a continuing situation and/or a good future. It calls the future tense in.

World is the impregnable position, the unassailable position of an occupier who isn’t opposed because he/she/it is that superior. This is the position of peace.

Our main message today is that there are two ways to be in this superior position. One is to simply find the desirable defensible spot for ourselves and belong to it so much no one else wants it, and the other is to fight for the spot everyone wants until we are the one who wins it.

Nine of Wands In another attack, he was injured; and now he is under pressure, nervous that there will be a repeat clash over what he defends. He stands his ground like they did at the Alamo. He is the border guard in our illustration.
Seven of Wands swings both ways. He can be the pushy contender who comes against the Occupier, or he can be defending the Position even against great competition. Illustration shows a man defending his home-place against turf-invading neighbors.
Three of Wands is your ships coming in, that is what its picture shows when you realize that’s water the ships are in. Continuing situation, good future, or just the future tense are its most common meanings.
World is in stealth mode, invisible to any and all entities that would interfere. The illustration is about being spiritually superior and the bad spirits aren’t interested in opposing you, so it means occupying a space so well others bypass it.

Today is a good day. The spread fits. I’ve been having dreams again. This time it is about the feeling of muscles. The brain has figured out how to hold tension with the jaw hurting. In the dream, there was a TV. When I concentrated and clenched my muscles, the picture turned into snow. I grabbed my Mom to show her and it happened again. I grabbed my Dad to how him and the same thing happened. So I went to look for somebody else’s TV to test it on. It was harder, but it worked too. When I woke up, that was the new feeling of tension. Now I can hold it in waking life without pain.

    • Sue

From the point of view of the body parts, and the spread holds so nicely. The muscles found their “unassailable position.”

      • Wow. What an application. You realize the dream indicates mama and papa are a source of tension. The TV indicates vision and scenes are part of the story. So is concentrating: Message is to quit concentrating on mama and papa’s scenes, and the scenes will just be snowed out.

        • Sue

Emily you are so right. I never saw it that way. After learning how to hold the tension from Mom and Dad withuot pain, I started applying this skill to tense situations in the outside world. That’s the looking for someone else’s TV… People with gentle kind parents don’t get any practice.

          • What an awful handicap gentle kind parents would be. You would be so unready for the world. (My kids would find the world a piece of cake if they survived their mama.)

“Three of Wands is your ships coming in, that is what its picture shows when you realize that’s water the ships are in. Continuing situation, good future, or just the future tense are its most common meanings”

This is a card I want to hold.

    • You can copy, paste and print the image (onto card stock if you like) and put them in your wallet, your car, the bathroom mirror, etc. I itch to paste the water. There are several printer’s errors in Rider Waite that are repeated for a hundred years … involving that yellow color.

  3. win

Love the display of Wands with the World card, painted real in your “Guidance”; un-like me. boarder guarding my illusions. Choosing the firm rooted ground in spirited air, oh the peace of constaint change. The staff is good: an offensively defensive walking stick.

    • You got it, and you wrote a poem about it. Bravo! Do this every day, it’s such a treat to read.

      • win

Reading your work educates us within our personal meditations, fueling fire, I wish time was eternal, immediatly so, to have the richness of pondering every day… it happens anyway, but it is nice to load the words you share with us into the works!!!

  4. Anna

Yes I’m in a tug-of- war battle with my mom

    • Umbilical cords are so elastic, aren’t they? ‘Certain types of clashes, by their very nature, go on forever,’ and this is one of them. Soo, your question is ‘What does the mama want?’ My view of mothers is jaundiced: I believe it’s usually turf mama wants.
