Our Daily Spread July 8, 2012 Sunday©

Guidance Relationships and deals tend not to go directly from Point A to a Point B destination; they both tend to ricochet off someplace, tend to zigzag, before they land somewhere. That zigzag is where anxiety oozes out of our pores. These readings demonstrate how that need not be so, how it’s the nature of the process. The sentences fall short of saying ‘Relax,’ they just describe scenarios.

Is this the first time you come here? Well … what to do:

*Go to Guidance (above ) which is a summary of the Messages. (Guidance is everyone’s favorite part.)

*Go to Group Analytical Tarot Cards Reading below.  One or more of those sentences has something to say to you.  Intuitively pick those out and decide whether to encourage or suppress them They are about you and the people around you.  They are about today and the days around it.  (It is a group message like a horoscope,  except Tarot isn’t based on someone else’s birth data,  so it can be specific,  accurate,  detailed and direct.  Our experiment here is  “How much more accurate is it?”)

Did you come here for your predictions? –  You are done now –  See you tomorrow.

Without a question to focus the answer,  four cards can mean contradictory things,  especially when the Spread has a card that negates other cards.  Without a question also the pronouns in a group reading are more flexible,  especially in some of these Rider Waite Tarot spreads.  When a pronoun is in parentheses,  feel very free to substitute.  The question in a  ‘real’  individual reading supplies at least half the information!

LEARN TAROT BY OBSERVING

At a glance, you know this is about a relationship or deal being instituted, abandoned, or both, with some pressure or tenseness or defensiveness involved. Why? Well, glad you asked:

Knight of Swords and Eight of Cups both mean a sudden change of course. Knight of Swords is in a hurry whether he is leaving, coming back, or switching back and forth. Eight of Cups is abandoning ship, is off the road or detouring or dropping out. Eight of Cups suggests (weakly) that the course will be resumed when it can.

Temperance is a close relationship as well as a deal or transaction. It also means reciprocal – hence ‘getting back’ to someone – echoing Knight of Swords. Intimate partners or partners in a deal. Technically, it is not ‘love,’ but intimacy usually involves at least a little love, doesn’t it?

Nine of Wands is the standoff, is ‘hanging in there,’ pressure, being put on the spot, being defensive, and being afraid someone is coming back.

So three of the four panelists today have something to do with ‘coming back’ or ‘getting back to’: Nine of Wands is the fear of it, Knight of Swords is doing it, and Temperance means to reciprocate or respond.

LEARN TAROT BY PICTURES

Nine of Wands The border guard defended his position against intruders who wounded him, and he is nervous about their return. (His friends tell him he is just paranoid, right?) Standoff, tenseness, apprehension, nervousness, defensive feelings, being put on the spot or even accused are common meanings for this illustration.
Knight of Swords One thing about him is for sure: He is in a hurry. He is more likely to be chasing after or pursuing than he is to be running away from, but he does mean both of those, as well as going back and forth or switching. He means ‘to strike’ as well. The fully armed knight leans over his hurrying horse’s head with a heavy sword extended and raised.
Temperance Its illustration isn’t helpful for its meaning in Tarot Verbatim ™, which is a close relationship or reciprocation in a deal. ‘Intimate partners’ is a good way to remember it (business partners too). The angel has a symbol of healing on his chest. This is one of those Christian-cover cards put into the deck in the Middle Ages in Europe to keep the Catholic church from killing Tarot users. The angel is diluting wine with water, considered a good Christian thing to do.
Eight of Cups The end of one thing is the beginning of another: See the new and full moon conjoined there? That’s a pilgrim, and the lay of the land forces him to detour from his course. It means to run off the road, drop out, fail to finish, walk away in the middle – things like that.

Yes, these are the right cards. He’s come back, back and forth, back and forth like a rubber band :p

    • The nature of the beast. Don’t we know that. Gals who don’t care get the cream of the crop because: What a woman does when she isn’t interested in a bull is what turns the bull on. Bull knows how to chase cow who is bored, but runs from one that is ready to make a calf. ‘Twas ever thus. (Remember to stare out of the fence and keep your tail down.)
