Guidance  Just as old men can be fit or feeble, so can people in power, whether secular or religious power, be helpful to members or hinder them. Tarot makes this parallel, and makes the point that questioning authority includes questioning your own authority; and that the questioning is expressed by people who are cooperating.

Some highlights of today’s exposition are:

*It must feel nice when ‘God’s on his throne and all’s right with the world.’

*A normal cooperative guy questions authority.

*In this peaceful atmosphere, he calmly accepts doubts that he is a mature man.

Is this the first time you come here? Well … what to do:

*Go to Guidance (above ) which is a summary of the Messages. (Guidance is everyone’s favorite part.)

*Go to Group Analytical Tarot Cards Reading below.  One or more of those sentences has something to say to you.  Intuitively pick those out and decide whether to encourage or suppress them They are about you and the people around you.  They are about today and the days around it.  (It is a group message like a horoscope,  except Tarot isn’t based on someone else’s birth data,  so it can be specific,  accurate,  detailed and direct.  Our experiment here is  “How much more accurate is it?”)

Did you come here for your predictions? –  You are done now –  See you tomorrow.

Without a question to focus the answer,  four cards can mean contradictory things,  especially when the Spread has a card that negates other cards.  Without a question also the pronouns in a group reading are more flexible,  especially in some of these Rider Waite Tarot spreads.  When a pronoun is in parentheses,  feel very free to substitute.  The question in a  ‘real’  individual reading supplies at least half the information!

Emperor – Knight of Cups – Seven of Pentacles

Tell the visitors here something useful and meaningful to them.

Legitimate Leadership (Emperor + Hierophant)

It seems we have a respectable man in command. With his assistance, things are as they should be.

I guess I’ll cooperate with the rightful authorities.

With his assistance, things are as they should be: I think I’m in control now.

Loves you and figures that, since he is the head of household, he is your helper in physical endeavors.

He seems independent, in control of his kingdom or affairs, and he is a decent person.

A friend with good intentions may be the big man (or the person in power) after all?

It must feel nice when ‘God’s on his throne and all’s right with the world.’

Leader is Insecure or Ill-Informed (Emperor + Seven of Pentacles)

Insecure person accepts the right to be in power.

Insecure person in power agrees to do it ‘by the book.’

The boss is in the dark about an agreement to hold harmless

The boss is ill-informed regarding his best public relations mode: personable.

He is here as the power at this place, what can you do but be overtly on his good side?

Is wondering whether to be the boss, when it’s already accepted as proper.

Old Man is Okay (Emperor + Hierophant)

Maybe he is an old man but he usually helps.

Could this be a courtship routine the old man is doing?

Can the old man make a romantic commitment?

Elderly man friend seems to be okay and healthy enough.

How can he be a healthy young man at his age?

Am I a Grownup? Is he in control? (Emperor + Seven of Pentacles)

Feels like he is probably in control … that this is normal boyfriend behavior.

Is he in control? – doubts he is in control, he is so sweet-natured.

Can he control himself? – he seems non-threateningly ‘safe.’

Maybe he isn’t a nice normal guy with good self-control after all.

He asks himself how things stand in respect to his being adult enough to be sweet to you.

Can he accept being accepted as a grownup?

Am I in conrol? – I doubt I am in control when I am being my friendly grownup self.

Question Authority, Doubt One’s Authority (Emperor + Seven of Pentacles)

A normal cooperative guy questions authority.

Cooperate with the rules as you question the authority of them.

You accept religious authority but question it.

He accepts the approved theology from the church or religious authority and doubts it.

When power is unsure of itself, it is neutral and friendly. He doubts himself – “Am I really the boss?” – and helps things to function normally.

It must feel nice when ‘God’s on his throne and all’s right with the world.’

A decent young man is uneasy being an authority figure.

Maybe a federal government helps make a situation safe and normal.

It depends on whether God is being His good self.

Can the VIP live up to his good billing (image)?

Miscellaneous: (He) supposes he is a sweet religious young man.

Emperor – Knight of Cups – Seven of Pentacles

Today is guys; you see that. Today is also respectable well-meaning harmless people: Emperor is the leader; Knight of Cups is the helpful good guy; Hierophant brings no harm and is acceptable to all.

The other Rider Waite Tarot cards simply asks a question, casts doubt upon, or is perplexed. It often calls the word ‘wonder.’

So our story is about an older man, a younger man, church and state (secular and religious authorities, Emperor and Hierophant), and wondering or doubts. Emperor + Hierophant is ‘God’s on his throne.’

Emperor is the person(s) in power and/or authority, neither benign nor malicious. Emperor reflects the stereotype about being old – that it entails being conservative, constipated, lacking in insight. It also embraces the good things about being mature, being a grownup – especially behaving yourself. (Emperor is a Republican churchgoer.) This card also stands for government at any level, especially a federal expression of government.
Knight of Cups is the quintessential pluperfect outgoing well-intentioned good guy: He introduces himself, he takes the initiative in friendship, love and business; he suggests and accepts suggestion; offers and accepts (any good thing), and communicates freely. (See Mercury’s wings on his helmet there?) So personable. Is a young man (or seems so) and likely a salesperson.
Seven of Pentacles ponders, doubts, wonders and is uncertain about. The illustration describes the place in our lives this card has: He has planted cucumbers, which need both genders of plant to produce a crop. He does not know whether he has both genders, so he won’t know until later.
Hierophant means good, acceptable, harmless, respectable, and is about surface appearances. It refers to the public face of church, state or companies, to the official story and the official narratives. This is the Wall Street Journal – no expose here. Pictured is the pope being knelt to by some underlings in an official ritual.

Do most guys doubt if they can be mature and harmless to us?

    • Sometimes it’s conscious, and they care about it. Sometimes they doubt it, but don’t thinks it’s important … it’s only a dame that fell overboard type mentality.

I think deep down in some place in their thinking, most men do. It does not necessarily affect their behavior. That is one of the differences between most men and most women, in my estimation.
