Guidance What is our overall message at the Tarot Table here? – well, the sentiment that we are glad for our suffering of the past because we profited from it, we are a better person for having passed through the ordeal with flying colors. We don’t even want others to fail anymore, we are better than that now. Why? – because we are doing so well, we are so grateful for who we are and what we do have.

Is this the first time you come here? Well … what to do:

*Go to Guidance (above ) which is a summary of the Messages. (Guidance is everyone’s favorite part.)

*Go to Group Analytical Tarot Cards Reading below.  One or more of those sentences has something to say to you.  Intuitively pick those out and decide whether to encourage or suppress them They are about you and the people around you.  They are about today and the days around it.  (It is a group message like a horoscope,  except Tarot isn’t based on someone else’s birth data,  so it can be specific,  accurate,  detailed and direct.  Our experiment here is  “How much more accurate is it?”)

Did you come here for your predictions? –  You are done now –  See you tomorrow.

Without a question to focus the answer,  four cards can mean contradictory things,  especially when the Spread has a card that negates other cards.  Without a question also the pronouns in a group reading are more flexible,  especially in some of these Rider Waite Tarot spreads.  When a pronoun is in parentheses,  feel very free to substitute.  The question in a  ‘real’  individual reading supplies at least half the information!

Knight of Wands – Ten of Swords – Nine of Cups

These four Rider Waite Tarot citizens are truly strange bedfellows! Right in the middle of some really uplifting pillars of personal progress (Knight of Wands = fast progress; Nine of Cups = being very satisfied; Page of Wands = being the best person one can be) comes the penultimate party-pooper, Ten of Swords.

Ten of Swords is being prostrate with grief. Ten of Swords is suffering, pain, disgrace, terrible loss, self-pity and feeling (or being) martyred. If you gotta adopt this one in your spread, be grateful for the company it comes with here. Be particularly grateful for Knight of Wands, getting over it fast or avoiding it. Page of Wands helps with being in good shape. Nine of Cups helps with things turning out just the way you want them to.

So, what is our overall message at the Tarot Table here? – well, the sentiment that we are glad for our suffering of the past because we profited from it, we are a better person for having passed through the ordeal back there with flying colors.

Knight of Wands Boogety-boogety. Knight of Wands is on down the road, speeding, rushing, going fast. He could be pursuing, and could be fleeing, but he is in a hurry, whichever it is. His horse is not cooperating – it is ‘one of those days’ for him, and he has that look on his face. Pamela Coleman Smith’s artistry conveys the rattled feeling you get when you are rushed, here, doesn’t it?
Ten of Swords Penultimate party-pooper. Hit bottom. Disgrace. Devastating loss. Betrayal. Suffering. Pain. Self-pity and martyrdom, or feeling that way. When you see Ten of Swords in your spread, you frantically look for one of those cards that means ‘to get over with,’ or means ‘quickly leave behind.’ That’s the best you can hope for, for an illustration of lying on the ground with ten swords in your back, isn’t it?
Nine of Cups Ah … surfeit. Too much is enough for Nine of Cups. I got mine, and I ate (and drank) the whole thing. I am totally satisfied, safunsified. Grateful. I am feeling no pain and I have no animosity … am glowing with the goodwill only the vine bestows.

The plump person with the ten empty goblets behind him on the banquet table is an apt illustration, wouldn’t you say?

Page of Wands Young, starting out, I have good things to say, looking good too. The spokesperson. The tennis pro. The handsome (young) bachelor. The well-adjusted, well-spoken, well-dressed fellow exudes well-being. He harkens to physical looks, identity, name, being a type of person (any), wanting to please and fit in. Oh. He is the handsome bachelor, too.

“I got over the pain with that cute fellow I wanted even more.”
That one line says it all for me today!
    Thanks Emily!!

    • You know, I got a little tingle when I typed that one.
I like the way it’s phrased. Yay for you.

  2. Had a discussion with one of our followers who views the site on mobile – as most of its visitors seem to, I think. She said my idea for drop-down (‘more’) boxes is bad because they load slowly.

She also told me how ‘in the way’ the instructions are. I have been trying to get the technical persons to move them over to permanently on the left, to no avail.

So beginning (I think) August 9th, the instructions will move to the very bottom, with just a paragraph in red saying that’s where they are, and giving the very basic info for new visitors.

This should make for better viewing. Please let me know what you think when it happens.

Also, remember, if you ask a question that you want a public answer to in your comment, I will answer it in comments – a new service that goes not just for our fifty or so ‘regulars’ but for anyone who drops in.

    oooh… hope not.

  4. Win

Taking my medicine, hope for the best…and as you said” so fastly shall come the sun after the rain” Dire Straights…”Love over Gold” one GREAT album, your spread parallels the increadable sentiment. Thank you yet again!

    • What you write is fun, always; good to have you back behind the keys. Living off the interest of yesteryear’s heartache, we say here, and there is truth to that. Did you miss yesterday’s “It is up to you to get the reward you want in dealing with the people around you; people do not necessarily live up to what you think they agreed to. So you have to know what they will do for what they want, and whether and how you fit into their scenario – or you will miss your payoff.”? I want to print that out and post it places. Have a tattoo. Etc.

  5. Candy

    • Oh yeah. Dudes, many of them, apply the Law of Supply and Demand to romance: The scarcer something is, the more valuable it is. You have to not only be one of a kind but be lookin’ the other way, for the bloodhound in them’s nose to quiver over you.
