Guidance    You can do it.  Plan ahead in order to prevent your own dark side from influencing you.  Look ahead to keep yourself away from bad situations out there.  Expect the unexpected threats, both internal and external ones, to your sanity and your safety, because you can handle them; you are strong enough to overcome whatever ….

Instructions:

Are YOU here for the first time?  Come in!  People love this place!  Our site is divided into four sections: Guidance, Tarot Readings, Learn Tarot by Observation, and Learn Tarot by Pictures.
If you just want your daily look ahead, Guidance and Tarot Readings are all you need.  ‘Guidance’ is a summary of what the cards are generally advising visitors to be aware of that day.  ‘Tarot Readings’ is the actual word for word messages the cards are conveying.  Tarot can come up with a wide variety of sentences (sometimes even completely contradictory sentences!) in a group reading as there is no specific question being asked.  So, go ahead and pick the sentences you feel are yours and decide whether to encourage or reject them for yourself.

Want even more insight and information about a specific situation in your life? Call me, Emily, at 1-800-993-6912 and talk to me personally and have yourself a live, in detail, Tarot Reading like no other you may ever have had before. Your call will support 500 acres of wildlife in an animal sanctuary where I live and call home.

Also, don’t be shy about talking to the Community of Users in the comment section below. You’ll find this as the very last thing on this site. Trust me when I say we would *love* to hear from you!

I am evil wicked mean and nasty, I will outfox them and have them eating from my hand.”

Overcoming this kind of sickness is going to be very inconvenient.

When you’ve got a grip on your own darkside, you get their darkside to behave.

I can handle any terrible thing by having a strategy, a plan.

Six of Wands and Devil … not good.  You could say it’s the dark side getting the best of us.

Six of Wands is the undetected enemy within, the traitor or Fifth Columnist, being under the influence of a harmful agent of any sort, but it also can be outfoxing, having a strategy, and the mere appearance of (anything) … as in pretending to be something it’s not.  Sneaky side.  The pretend friend.  Self-delusional following of a cause.

Devil can be just about any awful thing, any dark side, any bad habit or harmful practice or agent.  ‘Toxic.’  It’s the bad spectrum of hate, it’s the illness that is serious.  With support, it could also even speak of demons or black arts.  It quite often is simply ‘problem’ or ‘bad situation’ or being nasty, ill-tempered or inclined to lowlife or violent activity.

So you quickly look around to see what kind of company these two are set in.  Whew, good news!  Strength is here, along with the stability meanings of Two of Wands.

Strength is having such a strong presence that trouble avoids you, you nip opposition in the bud.  An ounce of prevention.  The concept applies to everything:  Muggers avoid people who can handle a fight; bad spirits avoid spiritual adepts; you don’t challenge the stronger candidate – and so on.  Strength can handle it.  Strength overcomes both internal and external threats.  Strength is overcoming, especially overcoming some bad situation, some dark side, some personal difficulty or addiction.

Where the Devil appears, it’s a relief to see Strength … always.

Two of Wands   is about the future; a long time or permanent or long term (anything); permanent or stable or stability; financial or banking; a plan; the outlook.  It is about having influence and power so that you can plan ahead for your own profit.

Devil can be just about any awful thing, any dark side, any bad habit or harmful practice or agent of destruction.  ‘Toxic.’  It’s the bad spectrum of hate, it’s the illness that is serious.  With other malefic cards, it could also speak of demons or black arts.  It quite often is simply ‘problem’ or ‘bad situation’ or being nasty, ill-tempered or inclined to lowlife or violent activity.

You can do it.  Plan ahead in order to prevent your own dark side from influencing you.  Look ahead to keep yourself away from bad situations out there.  Expect the unexpected threats, both internal and external ones, to your sanity and your safety, because you can handle them; you are strong enough to overcome whatever ….

A disease without symptoms (yet).  Self-delusional following of a cause.  It illustrates the betrayal of King Richard III, in a battle, to a lifetime of Arab captivity, orchestrated by the next-in-succession to the thone of England.

Two of Wands   A bankster surveys his real estate kingdom, planning to make more profit from it.  He stands on the finished roof of his castle, elaborately dressed, holding the world in his hands.   Two of Wands is about the future; a long time or permanent or long term (anything); permanent or stable or stability; financial or banking; a plan; the outlook.  It is about having influence and power so that you can plan ahead for your own profit.  Often, it simply contributes the future tense to another card’s verb.

Strength is about handling and overcoming both internal and external challenges, be they enemies, opposition, personal issues, habits and addictions … anything at all.  A spiritually strong person repels spiritual opposition; a physically adept person repels muggers, and so forth.    The phrase Strength commonly contributes is ‘can handle,’ aptly illustrated by a woman who has shut the mouth of the lion, and made him pur.  She is dressed in a white robe with garlands, and has the ‘eternity symbol’ for a halo.

Devil    can be just about any awful thing, any dark side, any bad habit or harmful practice or agent of destruction.  ‘Toxic.’  It’s the bad spectrum of hate, it’s the illness that is serious.  With support, it could also speak of demons or black arts.  It quite often is simply ‘problem’ or ‘bad situation’ or being nasty, ill-tempered or inclined to lowlife or violent activity.  The picture speaks for itself:  the hideous-looking horned goatlike creature with the bad signs.

EXPLANATIONS:

Each and every ‘Tarot Reading’ sentence you see is a literal interpretation of the four Rider Waite Tarot cards drawn and pictured for today. (The literal interpretation is from the illustration on each card.) These sentences are put together by only combining the phrases of what each cards says. In other words, there are NO “filler” phrases added just to make full sentences, and no psychic ability or spirit guide is ever involved.

*Without a question* in a group reading to focus the answer, the four Tarot cards can mean quite contradictory things, especially when the Spread has a card that means ‘no,’ ‘never’ or ‘not.’ These negative modifiers can apply to any one of the other cards.  *Without a question* in a group reading, the pronouns (you, him, her, me, us, them, they, etc.) are more flexible. Whenever you see a pronoun in parentheses, please *feel very free* to substitute another pronoun than the one used. I try to drop pronouns when possible, which, if you’ve noticed, can make for awkward phrasing.

Now in an ‘real’ individual reading, the questioner asks a specific question and thereby supplies at least half the information! In an individual situation, the parties are identified and sometimes a time frame is too. Here, in a group reading we cannot do that and so we get a variety of sentences.

Horoscopes are group readings, too. Astrology is based on someone else’s birth data, though, so a ‘solar’ group horoscope never really solidly applies to you! (Astrologers know this!)

Tarot, on the other hand, is perfectly capable of flexibly addressing any group, including all of the visitors that come to this site. It can also address people you might not even know personally, such as all the people at your job who have a say in whether or not you get a raise.

We have been wondering here lately whether the Tarot Verbatim(TM) sentences are more accurate for regular visitors than they are for people who visit this site only once in awhile or for a short time. Would you help us with a comment please, if you have not been a regular visitor? Just let us know if the sentences are relevant to you. So far, people say they do apply.

Return to this site often and you can put all this together and intuitively see yourself how Tarot Verbatim(TM) works. Regular visitors actually learn to read Rider Waite Tarot cards with very little effort.

Hi Emily. I am really impressed by your method of interpretation, and the concept tarotverbatim, as well as the method, I find is ingenious, and genius, too in its clarity and simplicity. But, I also wonder, why you emphasize the reversed meanings of certain cards in your system. I understand that an important function of Tarot is to reveal the shadow side, and the unconscious meanings in situations and events. For example, I noticed that you are particularly hard on the six of wands interpretation. Waite says of this “expectation crowned with its own desire”, which can be positive, as in achieving what you wanted, and set out to do, and reversed is “victorious enemy at the gate, treachery”, or, as you put it, “fifth column”, which is treachery. In some systems, emphasized is, “you got what you wanted, but, remember to be kind and conciliatory to your less fortunate rivals.” Ten of pentacles is another one you are hard on, emphasizing the negative interpretation, when the card traditionally has very positive meanings, unless reversed.

    • Tarot Verbatim doesn’t emphasize anything; it ignores all traditions not directly connected to the illustrations. It applies the illustrations to the situations of many inquiries, thereby determining the meanings – from the field. Six of Wands is the abduction of an English king by the Arabs in a battle that he won. That horse looking back at you with that expression, that wink, is a big hint that all is not as it seems here. The next-in-line to the throne arranged it and made sure Richard stayed captive. King Richard pursued retreating soldiers and it was a trap – same as Jeanne d’Arc’s capture. Ten of Pentacles is very clearly a family quarrel.

Six of Wands and Two of Cups both say ‘it’s not what it seems,’ and Ten of Pentacles also exposes family politics. Since these are the cards you have picked up on, maybe things not being what they seem is something you would just as soon not think about or avoid.

TarotData will begin each card’s meaning with how its meanings arise from its drawing.

I started out with a deck and no theories or information. Felt the books were all f.o.s. Determined that the way to find the meanings of the cards was to make that the unknown in the equation, an ask thousands of questions I knew the answers to, and keep notebooks. It was a hobby I enjoyed, and it started from a professor of statistics’ lectures on the Consistent Violators of the Laws of Random Distribution, on which the science of statistics is based. So my approach is divorced from any standard Tarot school of thought. I got the cards’ meanings for the cards from my perspective by doing those notebooks for many years.

There are more ways to read Tarot then there are readers. Few readers really interpret the cards. The system I discovered, in the way I discovered it, works, and it works for first-time users. Every blog post proves the system, and 24 years of clients attest to its usefulness.

This reading, and the one from yesterday started me on a whole new way of thinking.
Took some time for deep thinking and have formulated strategies.
    (seems I need several)
Good work Emily, and thank you.

    • Tarot has been proposing, every once in a while, that whatever awful thing arises can be handled in a businesslike way – that we are perfectly capable of dealing with whatever is happening, can happen, or will happen.
Strategies are a sure sign of intelligent life.

  3. Anna

I been feeling sad and sorry for myself most of the day today. At least the future has warmer weather so I will do what Tarot says and keep my eye on the future.

    • Moods are often the result of body chemistry alone, and as such should not be honored too much. When you are depressed, drink water; the main organization for psychiatrists one year did a study for the leading cause of depression, and found it to be not drinking enough water. (That must have been back in the day when those organizations were halfway honest.)

    Hi Emily,
This reading fits for me today. I spent the day with my daughter building a financial Plan B for all of us . . . which could possibly evolve into a Plan A . .
    Many thanks,
    J

    • Tarot is following you around lately.
And you are dealing with people, settling issues, getting things done.
      (You’re welcome.)

      • Jaclyn

Monday’s reading is even more inspiring . . . “can’t do nothing.” Been “working hard but not making enough to retire on” so I have to move forward with this new venture even though it’s outside my comfort zone . .
        Thanks Emily
