Tarot Readings for You for June 18, 2013 Tuesday(c)

Jun 17, 2013 by

Guidance     Today our focus is on the energy it takes to be intensely involved and the energy it takes to get out of involvements. Our emphasis is on the escape from a situation or activity, rather than the escape from another person. “I want to be alone,” we are saying along with Greta Garbo. We opt to be above the fray, above it all. We have ‘been there and done that’ with activism, or with involvement in other people’s conflicts, and are done. We are shunning getting sucked into things an inch at a time anymore; we are drawing that line in the sand right outside our proverbial front door.

Instructions: Are YOU here for the first time? Come in! People love this place! Our site is divided into four sections: Guidance, Tarot Readings, Learn Tarot by Observation, and Learn Tarot by Pictures.

If you just want your daily look ahead, Guidance and Tarot Readings are all you need. ‘Guidance’ is a summary of what the cards are generally advising visitors to be aware of that day. ‘Tarot Readings’ is the actual word for word messages to everyone. So, go ahead and pick the sentences you feel are yours and decide whether to encourage or reject them for yourself. THEN, the family of commenters here would love for you to join in.

Tarot Readings: The Superior Isn’t a Combatant (World and Five of Wands)

She is the superior here, she has no part in this fight. You can leave now.

When you are superior in rank you are out of the competition and heading onward from there.

We got the malcontent (combative person) out of here and are on our way to having no interference.

Change your ways and quit stirring up animosity; it is not tolerated at the highest level.

She did not quit competing; she retired as the master.

You’re not going to disturb the peace of people who pay no attention to you, so just give up and leave.

Mama doesn’t allow all sorts of commotion, so you can quit or leave.

People avoid fighting with you when you are not part of their scene anymore.

A survivor does not withdraw from a conflict.

Tarot Readings: Giving Up My Vices (Six of Swords and World)

I am giving up my vices and heading in the direction of aerobic exercise.

I fall off the wagon when I try too hard to put it all behind me.

The future is going to be so much better because I have tried so hard to turn things around and clear myself a space to breathe.

Tarot Readings: Doesn’t Even Avoid (Eight of Cups and Six of Swords)

I don’t try too hard to get out of their way; I just do my own thing.

I don’t shut you out entirely anymore; I just don’t fight with you.

I quit trying so hard to get out of here, and am just ignoring them instead.

The way things are headed is: I am totally gung-ho involved or I am totally not involved – no gray areas.

She doesn’t even avoid him but no matter how hard he tries, he doesn’t get to her.

Tarot Readings: Removed Myself From Interaction (Eight of Cups and Five of Wands or Six of Swords and Five of Wands)

I have removed myself from interaction and am out of the picture and unavailable.

Now that I am out of that and no longer involved, nothing bothers me as I am on my way to other things.

She is no longer home; she has gone off somewhere and is unavailable no matter how hard you try to get through.

I left before I got sucked into involvement in that cause of yours: I don’t do causes.

I put other things aside to get involved in conflicts, but no more: I am minding my own business now.

I avoid my superiors; I avoid getting involved with them.

I just want to be left alone. I shun activism like the plague – been there, done that, done with that.

Oh joy, we have three cards that all mean ‘have nothing to do with,’ two of which also often mean ‘avoid.’ (Cards this similar in a four-card spread make my verbatim translation project interesting, you know.)

Eight of Cups is leaving, avoiding, changing direction; Six of Swords is also heading out of there, leaving, and going in a different direction: away. The action is abrupt in Eight of Cups, and may be more of a temporary derailment or deflection than a permanent change. In Six of Swords, we are getting out of there and putting it behind us, period. Our tour is over in Six of Swords, but probably only disrupted in Eight of Cups.

Eight of Cups and Six of Swords’ similar meanings make translating more difficult, and when you put these two together they kind of halfway cancel one another out. They both mean ‘avoid,’ for instance, so you can add ‘avoid’ to all their meanings when you put them together, which turns the sentence from saying, for instance, ‘I have nothing to do with you’ to ‘I don’t shun you entirely.’ All the sentences under the heading ‘Doesn’t Even Avoid’ are products of this happy collision.

World will have nothing to do with it, may never have had anything to do with it, and it cannot get to her to affect her, anyway. She is above it all, and it isn’t her fault, and she isn’t interested. She is in stealth mode and so is Six of Swords – in different ways. She is disengaged; Six of Swords is in recovery from engagement.

Five of Wands is a struggle, a fight, violence, being actively involved or competing. But it also can be ‘being against’ or resisting or fighting to get free of involvement in something. You have to check other Tarot cards nearby to see whether the energy is going into an activity or is going to counter the activity. Like, you can fight for something, or you can fight against something … sometimes in the same operation, in real life.

Today our focus is on the energy it takes to be intensely involved and the energy it takes to get out of involvements. Our emphasis is on the escape from a situation or activity, rather than the escape from another person. “I want to be alone,” we are saying along with Greta Garbo. We have been there and done that with activism, or with involvement in other people’s conflicts, and are done. We are shunning getting sucked into things an inch at a time anymore; we are drawing that line in the sand right outside our proverbial front door.

Eight of Cups I am on this pilgrimage (the red coat means that, by the way); it’s the middle of the night; and I can’t go any farther in the right direction. I am off course here – no choice; mountains are in the way. Eight of Cups is being derailed, interrupted, disrupted, intersected, is dropping out, quitting (without notice, usually), walking out on, disappearing – gone.

.

World World is in stealth mode, is off the radar of things that would interfere, disrupt, distract or annoy. Why? Because, as an adept spiritual person, she can handle opposition before it gets near, and because the bad spirits avoid her: Her reputation precedes her. Bad spirits are cowards, by the way. So are bullies, their counterparts. So world is to spiritual life as martial artist is to street life. As a spiritually mature person, she is not drawn into anything outside; she is dancing to her own drummer, with no clothes on.

.

Six of Swords is when you got involved and are escaping some ordeal – surviving, and that’s about it. Living to fight another day. Putting it behind you. Maybe you are ashamed, and you certainly are hurting, but are resigned: There’s no fight here. You are avoiding, you are recovering from, you aren’t ever going to do that again, or go back there again, or see that awful person again. But the worst is over, the future has to be better because you are leaving the worst behind. This card can be about recovery, about getting out from what you got into – even a sickness. There is hope and there is exhaustion.

.

Five of Wands Oh, the energy, the effort when we get involved in some activities. You fight your way in, you fight your way out, and in between, you fight, you struggle, you oppose or promote. A brawl starts with a remark. We can choose aerobic exercise, choose to horse around, choose to compete, but sometimes interaction gets out of hand.

EXPLANATIONS: [Use the arrow at lower right to skip this and go to Comments.]

All the words of each Tarot card reading you see here are a phrase-by-phrase translation of the scene pictured on those cards: no filler, no psychic impressions, no spirit guide. Word-for-word Tarot Verbatim(TM).

In these group readings, there’s no question (and no Questioner) to limit what the four cards can mean, so they can mean opposite things.

When there is a negative-meaning card (a ‘negator,’ I call them), the readings contradict one another because that card can make any of the other cards in the spread negative. Negator cards mean things like: no, never, not, end, can’t, etc. Never be queasy about the number of ‘bad’ card because it takes two bad cards to say ‘not dead’ and only one to say ‘dead.’

Without a question or a Questioner, pronouns (I, you, he, she, we, they, etc.) are very flexible. I leave out pronouns in writing this as much as possible – awkward to do that sometimes. When I put them in parentheses, feel very free to change them around to suit yourself.

Now in a ‘real’ individual reading, the questioner asks a specific question which provides at least half the information! In an individual’s reading, the parties are identified and sometimes a time frame is too. Here, in a group reading, we cannot do that and so we get more variety of sentences.

Horoscopes are group readings, too. Astrology is based on someone else’s birth data, though, so a ‘solar’ group horoscope never really solidly applies to you! (Astrologers want you to know this!)

Tarot successfully addresses the group of visitors, whoever they are. It provides useful information that applies to their daily lives: They tell you this in the comments, for three years now. Tarot can tell you things about people you don’t know personally – such as whoever on your job has a say in your raise or continued employment there, whether that is one person or many. Visitors report that the information is equally accurate for new visitors as it is for the family of regular visitors.

Do you want to read Rider Waite Tarot, yourself? Start with Learn Tarot by Pictures to get the day’s cards’ individual meanings; then read Learn Tarot by Observation, which gives you the thinking those four cards inspire in a qualified reader. Next, Group Analytical Tarot Cards Reading is the various things those four cards can say (without a question to guide them). Then, Guidance is a summary.

In this way, your intuition allows you to learn to read the cards without much effort if you come often enough. Regular visitors can just put it together.

Will be interesting to see how this applies to my work situation.

    • Sure will. Your individual reading said you would be happy with the exchange they offer for the favor.

      We shall see.

  2. Jules

Speaks very much to my mood and mode these days.
“totally gung-ho involved or totally not involved – no gray areas”.
And the “removed myself from interaction” section.
    Thanks.

    • You don’t have to go to the door just because someone knocks, or talk on the phone to a voice that asks you if you are so-and-so without identifying themselves, something corporates do every time these days. (My reply is ‘So, do you have a name?’)

  3. Jaclyn

Wow . . what great advice for me today Estranged husband needs a loan and I spent 3 days working on it. Now gotta let it go .. . not my problem . . .any more . . .

    • A direct hit outside your front door too. Tomorrow’s (which I just posted) follows up on situations like that.

Watch the dude immediately find a solution – a job, another sponsor, whatever. Mooches seldom go without, I notice.

  4. Anna

Yes, my friend and her boyfriend had a serious argument yesterday so I got the heck out of there

    • That was a direct hit, wasn’t it – from the summary, yet. So good to hear it. Wish more people would comment. No one has to say it applies, or how it applies. If it doesn’t apply (as far as you know at the time you type it), that’s perfectly okay.

I hear from people, when I do their sessions in person, that, yeah, they thought it didn’t apply until evening, when, in retrospect, it did.

That’s okay; that’s life as we live it.
