Tarot Readings for You for January 13, 2014 Monday©

Jan 12, 2014 by

Guidance      Family always has pasts, doesn’t it – happy times and not-so-happy times, bereavement and celebrations, moving in and out of houses and places, children welcomed into membership and miserable childhoods. Shame and pride. Weddings to celebrate and maybe a parental house to gather at. Togetherness is the hallmark of family life, togetherness even when the whole scene is depressing to us.

Are YOU here for the first time? Come in!

People love this place! Our site is divided into four sections: Guidance, Tarot Readings, Learn Tarot by Observation, and Learn Tarot by Pictures.
If you just want your daily look ahead, Guidance and Tarot Readings are all you need.

‘Guidance’ (above) is a summary of what the cards are telling visitors to be aware of this day.

‘Group Tarot Cards Reading’ (just below this) is the actual word-for-word messages from the pictures of the four cards you see – to everyone. These readings are about you and the people around you.  They are about today and the days around it. So, go ahead and pick the sentences you feel are yours and decide whether to encourage or reject them for yourself.

Did you come here for your predictions? – You are done now – See you tomorrow. The family of commenters here would love for you to join in (the very last thing, at the bottom).

Now,  Part Two,

Do you want to know a little, or a lot, about how this Tarot Verbatim™ thing works? If so,

*Go to Learn Tarot by Observing section below. This tells about the combined four pictures in the Tarot Readings – the pictures above here.  It explains how these four cards get together in your mind to make the messages.

*Go to Learn Tarot by Pictures.  It is what each of the four cards, by itself, has to say.  It shows you how that illustration makes that card’s meanings in today’s Spread. All the words of each Tarot card reading you see here are a phrase-by-phrase translation of the scene pictured on those cards: no filler, no psychic impressions, no spirit guide. Word-for-word Tarot Verbatim™.

You can put all this together and intuitively see yourself how Tarot Verbatim™ works.

This is a group reading, with no Questioner and no Question to limit what the cards say, so there’s more variety – even contradictions – and also the pronouns are more flexible. If it feels like it’s yours, and it says ‘he,’ and you’re a ‘she,’ feel free to adopt it anyway.

Four of Wands and Six of Cups Both Four of Wands and Six of Cups are about house and home, and both are happy in mood.
Four of Wands and Three of CupsThree of Cups is also happy, and it shares the ‘togetherness’ theme of Four of Wands, since it is about getting along and sharing.

Five of Cups and Six of Cups But Five of Cups, which shares the meaning of ‘past’ with Six of Cups, is a downer to all the good vibes of the other Rider Waite Tarot citizens. Five of Cups is the regrettable sad past, is even bereavement, and Six of Cups is the sweet past. The damper Five of Cups puts on the party is very pervasive. (Three of Cups is the party, of course: getting together and sharing a good time, drinking.

We are left with a theme of togetherness (Three of Cups and Six of Cups too ), sharing camaraderie (Three of Cups ) in family or Company or marriage (Four of Wands ) or in romance (Six of Cups ) , with some kind of pall over it (Five of Cups ).

Five of Cups Haunted by a past I just can’t get over. Counting the loss rather than what I have left. Missing the deceased and not caring about life as it goes on. Wishing I had, or had not, done something in the past. Five of Cups should be titled ‘If Only’ or ‘Coulda Woulda Shoulda.’

In Rider Waite, it’s one of those cards whose picture says it all: On a gray day, in a desolate sparse landscape, a bent and black-robed figure contemplates the spilled wine and has its back to the full glasses. It takes time to back out of these episodes of mourning and of being haunted by the past.

Four of Wands doesn’t stop at meaning the married couple and the family; it goes on to be any human organization – neighborhood, city, county, state, nation, organization or company, public building, headquarters … whatever. It has political overtones but its illustration is a society wedding which, when you think about it, is a community event.

Three of Cups One for all, and all for one – togetherness and camaraderie, sharing and pooling resources and effort, partying and having fun, celebrating the harvest. It is one of the ‘meeting of three people’ Rider Waite Tarot cards, and it is very, very happy: These people get along and trust one another.

Six of Cups also is about trust and togetherness in a different way. The sentimental romantic nostalgic past; children or child; a gift (the giving or the receiving); a house, particularly an old or quaint house. These meanings arise from an illustration of a little boy giving a little girl flowers in front of a large quaint estate or apartment building.

Just home from a family funeral for the patriarch.
Sad for us, but love was the call of each day we spent together. Not the most fun visit, but we did well.

    • Well, we are on point. Actually, these four made more than fifty sentences, and I cut them to around thirty. Many of the ones I cut were about bereavement and grief and the departed. So there would have been more.
I wish it were not so, but it was the best it could have been.

    • Oops. Tomorrow’s was the one with all the sentences I deleted. So there is material there you MAY want to peruse.
      Maybe not.

Losing a house but happy to be living in an old, quaint, cozy, cute cottage.
That is me, also, losing the marriage but maybe a nice happy relationship on the horizon.

    • Well, I thought of my house burning down and the cozy cottage I live in, too. But Prince Charming would have no luck with me; I’m retired from the field, having served honorably.

  3. Anna

I never know what time the daily spread is posted lately. I liked it when it was posted at the consistent time of 5 o’clock CST the day before.

    • The phrases for the two-card combinations add at least a thousand words and three hours. Wanna come help?

      • cat

Hey, the daily readings matter. Get to work! Just Kidding. This is a good sign.

      • Anna

I don’t read the two card paragraphs, but if others want them I guess they’ll have to stay

        • Everyone I polled, and that began the day after the first one went up, raved about them. They bring things to mind that are beyond the words … so they are accessing subconscious awareness through a stream-of-consciousness word association, like psychiatrists used to do when they actually did things.
All the people I spoke with said they read all of that almost every day. It is set up to be easy to skip: Its title is bigger than the others for that reason.

I am making the process more efficient; it’s gradual. My computer has decided to be a brat lately too.

Usually, when it’s late, it’s better than usual. You will absorb reading Tarot verbatim by scanning that section. (I promise it won’t hurt.)
          Emily

If only I had married my childhood sweetheart, how good life would have been.

Miss the happy loving home we had together.

Both of those statements apply to me.

    • Awww. I feel for that. The ‘If onlys’ are all Five of Cups melancholies, but that one is the most poignant. Wish it were not so.
