Tarot Readings for You for January 7, 2014 Tuesday©

Jan 7, 2014 by

Guidance       We are not born enlightened; we are born ignorant, with potentials and proclivities.   We earn every bit of emotional intelligence, even if we start out with a knack for it.   The price of emotional intelligence or enlightenment is (1) the suffering of realizing what it is that we are ignorant of, and (2) the process of – piece by piece – changing ourselves to be what we have seen in our peak experience.    Well, that process is a kind of misery in itself, which we call Dark Night of the Soul.   Some people call the whole routine ‘The Great Work,’ some people call it salvation, some people call it enlightenment.   It doesn’t care what we call it; it just calls upon us.

Are YOU here for the first time? Come in!

Tarot Readings: Ups and Downs of a Spiritual Life (Five of Pentacles and Judgment)

Going from disillusionment to enlightenment as I receive input a piece at a time.

How one person after another gives me my due or drains me is my wakeup call.

I recover from one miserable exchange after another.

After a high point (peak experience) I cycle into the doldrums of dark night of the soul before I receive its payoff.

Sometimes I’m so down-and-out miserable I need treatment to change that.

Tarot Readings: Money when you Need it Most (Five of Pentacles and Six of Pentacles)

I keep losing money, and the next paycheck revives me.

The payments are bankrupting me but I make that next one each time.

Every time I’m dead broke, one more bit of cash comes into my hands.

A steady paycheck is a life-changer in poor times.

It’s a surprise every time someone gives me something I really need.

Tarot Readings: Giving for a Cause (Judgment and Six of Pentacles)

My reward is when each and every stray on the street gets a new life.

The joy of giving to people who need it keeps me going.

I kept sacrificing until I got the new life I earned.

It took a lot out of me to change but I kept at it until it paid off.

I keep donating to make a change where it’s needed the most.

Tarot Readings: Cycles are the Price (Two of Pentacles and Six of Pentacles)

Cycles of misery give me a new self.

I get it: The ups and downs are reward and punishment.

You get each new life when you wear out the old one.

The price of a new level of awareness is: going through each of your ignorances.

Every time I realize how misguided I am, I do the right thing.

Now,  Part Two,

Do you want to know a little, or a lot, about how this Tarot Verbatim™ thing works? If so,

*Go to Learn Tarot by Observing section below. This tells about the combined four pictures in the Tarot Readings – the pictures above here.  It explains how these four cards get together in your mind to make the messages.

*Go to Learn Tarot by Pictures.  It is what each of the four cards, by itself, has to say.  It shows you how that illustration makes that card’s meanings in today’s Spread. All the words of each Tarot card reading you see here are a phrase-by-phrase translation of the scene pictured on those cards: no filler, no psychic impressions, no spirit guide. Word-for-word Tarot Verbatim™.

You can put all this together and intuitively see yourself how Tarot Verbatim™ works.

This is a group reading, with no Questioner and no Question to limit what the cards say, so there’s more variety – even contradictions – and also the pronouns are more flexible. If it feels like it’s yours, and it says ‘he,’ and you’re a ‘she,’ feel free to adopt it anyway.

Six of Pentacles

Five of Pentacles – Judgment – Two of Pentacles

LEARN TAROT BY OBSERVING

.

Just at a glance you can see this spread is mainly about the process of realizing I am in the dark as I am given what I deserve. The process of (Two of Pentacles ) realizing (Judgment ) that I am in the dark (Five of Pentacles ) as I am given what I deserve (Six of Pentacles ).

Five of Pentacles and Judgment Disillusionment and enlightenment. A new life for the stray on the street. Being lost and awakening. The wake up call of hitting bottom. Dark Night of the Soul and the Peak Experience. Recovery from bankruptcy or disease. Life-changing poor times. How much it takes out of you to change your path, your ways. Waking up to how ignorant I have been or am. We are looking at first a picture of desperate homeless hungry injured people in a blizzard oblivious to a hot meal and a warm bed inside that building, contrasted with a picture of dead people coming to life when the angel blows the trumpet. How plain can it get?

Two of Pentacles and Six of Pentacles The other pair of Rider-Waite Tarot cards are about a process, cycle, or one thing after another, Two of Pentacles, and, in Six of Pentacles, getting what one deserves, or an exchange between people. The juggler’s routine of the same movements over and over is combined with the idea of receiving the pay for the work you did. These two cards describe the way you keep being treated, for instance. The exchanges you have with others over and over. They say ‘What comes around goes around,’ and describe karma as ‘getting back what you give.’

Five of Pentacles and Six of Pentacles Punishment and reward, here. Doing without in misery and desperation is punishment in Five of Pentacles. Receiving the reward for what you did is Six of Pentacles. Being unemployed versus getting a paycheck is another application of these two cards in Tarot Verbatim™.

Two of Pentacles and Judgment both include the idea of ‘next,’ with Two of Pentacles involved in repeating sequences, and Judgment most often meaning simply a repeat of the previous one. Six of Pentacles means ‘next’ once in a while too, and that makes three of our four cards mean that one thing.

LEARN TAROT BY PICTURES

.

Five of Pentacles Cold and hungry, frostbitten in a blizzard, and they walk right past the place that would feed them because they are numb. Five of Pentacles is about lack and being in the dark, about misery and being injured or ill. Hopeless because they cannot see the way out. Disillusioned. The low point, being drained, and it takes a lot out of me.

Judgment Awakening to new life, new level of awareness, wake up call, enlightenment, the new chapter … the next phase. Those are the meanings we use today for Judgment.

Two of Pentacles refers to a cycle, a phase, to doing something over again, to the next round, the routine. It is about movements too: up and down, back and forth, circular, rocking, etc. Two of Pentacles also means going from one state to another – phrases like either/or, before and after, etc.

Six of Pentacles The idea of receiving pay for work is expanded into getting what you deserve, payback, making payments, getting treatment, to receive a piece at a time, and even ‘input.’ Its other meanings lie unused on the shelf today.

I’m still trying to understand this one. I’ve thought about it on and off. It feels important, and I understand it in some ways, but have the feeling I don’t understand it completely.

Wow what a profound reading. For ANYONE to see!!!!! Me especially 🙂 I got a lot out of that and couldn’t concur more. XO

    • Great. More and more, Tarot is in this groove of self-improvement and spiritual life in its messages here. So stay tuned.

I feel fresh and new at work after being off work for days and resting in bed. I was sick but it was a good respite.

    • Anna, I think our bodies have a “selfhood” that knocks us out when we need to disengage from whatever we are into.
I try to see this coming and disengage on purpose instead of getting knocked out. I usually succeed.
Listen to your gut re this.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m amazed at how you are able to interpret such profound messages in the cards. I am driving myself crazy trying to read the cards for myself with just basic questions. How do you choose which card(s) to be the focal point?

    • Nicole, the cards choose the focal point.
There are several ways this happens. First is what they have in common. Ya got two or three cards that mean, say ‘right’ or ‘money exchange’ or whatever: That is the subject. That makes those the dominant cards. Of course, you have to have a feeling or knowledge for the meanings of the cards to see this right away. Experience teaches you that. It’s a matter of time and motivation. (I have been at Tarot since 1980.)
Next, an action card tends to be a focal point. Let’s say you have three cards that are about thinking or being (identity cards). One means to do a particular thing: to return, to make an announcement, etc. That is likely to be the theme, of those four.
Sometimes you have a spread in which most of the cards are about one thing, like Jan. 8th’s with two cards that mean ‘right’ very strongly. You look to another of the cards to find out where this ‘right’ concept attaches itself.
The short answer is: Look and listen. Start typing (if you type fast enough). As you type about your feelings and thoughts about the spread, a theme will appear.
There are more ways to read Tarot than there are Tarot readers. Tarot Verbatim has the advantage of being provable, and working without spirit guides.
      Welcome aboard.
Since only four-card spreads are feasible here, the glories of the checks and balances of my 13- or 14- card spread are not explored here. The main glory of the full spread is: It indicates how accurate the answer is.
      Emily

      • Nicole Lilly

That was very helpful. Thanks for taking the time to respond in such detail. I know it takes dedication and time to read well. I’m pushing myself to fin answers, feeling like I’m at a crossroads, and we all know how that works.

        • Nicole, go over to SelfGrowth and look at my articles and my personal information there. I was the official Tarot guide for a year there. (Waste of a lot of money.) The story there of how you ask questions you know the answers to, which makes THE MEANING OF THE CARDS the unknown: That is the way to find YOUR meanings of the cards. A few may differ from the ‘book’ meanings. Not to worry. Also, as you become expert, some may shift: Not to worry.

Another technique is to ‘evict’ from the deck the cards that give you trouble. I threw out Queen of Pentacles for a few years.

Another learning aid is to use the whole deck for each question that you know the answer to. This will give you the parallel meanings of the cards because each spread is going to say the same thing – some better than others. Sooo if you asked about a couple who is getting a divorce, you will discover not only the divorce cards but also the cards that substitute for them when they are ‘absent.’

You will reach a point where some cards jump out at you – even appear 3-D – not to worry. That is your subconscious accessing your conscious mind.

That bridge between the two heads – conscious and subconscious – is invaluable: There will be more of you, and you will have a better steering wheel in your hands as you go about your days.

          • Nicole Lilly

I will definitely check out the articles. Wonderful advice. Thanks again!
