Tarot Readings for you for October 10, 2014 Friday©

GUIDANCE      Being grateful for improvement instead of greedy for goodies: That happens when we encounter one of those helpless, stuck-there, phases of life. A small breath of air where no breeze has been makes you so happy. It would have taken much more than that to make you happy at another time. Just getting over an ailment, a shortcoming, an obstacle, a stifling situation … or even just the same old … wonderful … thing for too long – can make us inordinately happy. Like the feeling of traffic moving 100 feet in a traffic jam, where we are used to whizzing along at, say, 40 miles an hour. Diminished expectations set us up for contentment. Today we celebrate getting over that hump.

Are YOU here for the first time? Come in!

Tarot Readings: Happy to Get Over It (Six of Swords and Nine of Cups)

I get over not being able to do a darn thing, and everything is going my way.

When I quit thinking ‘I can’t,’ things head where I want them to.

So happy that I don’t box myself in anymore.

I haven’t been able to do what I really want, but I’ll get there.

Can’t have everything we want but it’s not as bad as it was.

So happy to have escaped: THAT was a tight spot!

……….…………

Tarot Readings: Getting Out of Jail (Six of Swords and Eight of Swords)

Getting out of jail feels so good.

I was stuck there and I got away … so grateful for that.

Leaving this stifling place for a better life, or a fantastic life.

A handicapped person just wants to get over it.

My dream is to get out of this strait jacket.

Can’t be happy so I’m heading off somewhere.

Someone is getting over a death wish.

Just getting past a block can be so gratifying.

Not going to die after all – that’s good.

So glad I’m not helpless anymore!

You have been shut up, and I’m happy you’re out of my hair.

……….…………

Tarot Readings: Ducking Out of Paradise (Six of Swords and Nine of Cups)

I got what I came here for, so there’s no room for improvement.

There’s nothing more I could want here, so it’s time to go.

Ducking out of paradise because there’s no room to breathe.

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                   ……….…………

Tarot Readings: Content Within Limitations (Nine of Cups and Eight of Swords)

I want to move in a different direction in spite of the limitations.

I am content to go through this phase in which I am stifled.

All I want is to avoid going into a dead end.

Content that things are going to be better within limits.

It isn’t as hopeless as it was, so I am satisfied.

I could not leave you, so I am so glad you left.

Have no choice but to leave, but that’s okay with me.

……….…………

Tarot Readings: Can’t Have What I Want (Nine of Cups and Eight of Swords)

I thought things would be the way I wanted, but it was a trap.

Distancing myself from something I want so bad that just can’t be.

Not getting everything I want, but at least I’m out of the woods.

……….…………

Tarot Readings: You Died and Left Me Behind (Six of Swords and Eight of Swords)

Getting over your death like you wanted me to.

You died and left me behind wanting you.

I just want to die and get over this awful life.

Glad you’re dead and gone.

Now, Part Two,

Do you want to know a little, or a lot, about how this Tarot Verbatim™ thing works? If so,

*Go to Learn Tarot by Observing section below. This tells about the combined three pictures in the Tarot Readings – the pictures above here.  It explains how these three cards get together in your mind to make the messages. HERE ARE PHRASES FOR ALL THREE 2-CARD COMBINATIONS is a stream-of-consciousness bridge to your subconscious if you use it regularly – people report.

*Go to Learn Tarot by Pictures.  It is what each of the three cards, by itself, has to say.  It shows you how that illustration makes that card’s meanings in today’s Spread. All the words of each Tarot card reading you see here are a phrase-by-phrase translation of the scene pictured on those cards: no filler, no psychic impressions, no spirit guide. Word-for-word Tarot Verbatim™.

You can put all this together and intuitively see yourself how Tarot Verbatim™ works.

This is a group reading, with no Questioner and no Question to limit what the cards say, so there’s more variety – even contradictions – and also the pronouns are more flexible. If it feels like it’s yours, and it says ‘he,’ and you’re a ‘she,’ feel free to adopt it anyway.

Six of Swords – Nine of Cups – Eight of Swords

.

LEARN TAROT BY OBSERVING

.

……………….……………………             Eight of Swords is being helpless, stuck, stymied, disabled, in a suffocating situation. Six of Swords is things are not as bad as they were, being headed for better times. Nine of Cups is being happy and having it your way. So we have a happy-to-get-out-of-jail story, a story about overcoming and getting away from whatever holds us back. We explore the different phases of our saga, the dismal as well as the delightful.

………………………..       Think of Six of Swords as the light at the end of the tunnel. You are withdrawing from some hurt, getting over some setback, leaving some miserable scene, leaving this town for a place that is better. It will be better even if it just not as bad. So Six of Swords is hope when you are at the end of your rope. Is is depression and hopefulness at the same time. It is the dark before the turning point.

You see a woman and child huddled in the fog in an open boat, no suitcases. A friend is paddling them away from shore in shallow water at dawn or twilight. Better times ahead, and never coming back here.

………………………..      Nine of Cups      Oh happy day! I got mine! Content and grateful am I! I ate the whole thing! I want to please you; you please me. More than enough. You see a fella who has clearly imbibed of those nine vessels on the mantle, and is feeling no pain. He is well-nourished. Big grin of satisfaction … safunsified feeling there. Nine of Cups’ spectrum extends to greed … to ‘I gotta have it all’ instead of ‘I have all and more than I want.

………………………..       Eight of Swords is the darkest part of ‘It’s darkest before dawn.’ Eight of Swords is being stuck, not knowing where to go or what to do, feeling helpless or being helpless. You can be helpless because you don’t see, don’t understand, don’t have the nerve, or are tired, sick, disabled, paralyzed by feelings, numb with some despair … any old reason or no old reason. Like Devil, in which the chains are loose, the cloths with bind the blindfolded (can’t see) gal are loose. She is isolated from or exiled from her people: the castle on the hill in the distance. She is what holds you, me, and us back – anything at all that does.

Eight of Swords is the actual death card, the lead card for ‘deceased’ or anything to do with dying in Tarot Verbatim™. (Death and Four of Swords are support cards for this theme.) As I have said before, Tarot Verbatim’s™ meanings come from trials in the field, not from what someone things the cards’ illustrations should mean.

……….…………..           Six of Swords and Nine of Cups     The strongest meaning for these two is leaving the bad town for the good life ahead. They can also say ‘I don’t want that anymore.’ That sentiment can extend to leaving the place of ‘having it all’ for a change (leaving paradise). Six of Swords and Nine of Cups describe renunciation of the good life. People do that, you know!

They can simply say ‘I want out.’ They can say ‘Glad I left’ or ‘Glad someone left me.’ Combine leaving for a better scene with having exactly what you want right here.

………..…………..                 Six of Swords and Eight of Swords      Six of Swords and Eight of Swords Now we have getting out of jail, recovering from a disability, escaping from a tight spot, getting over someone’s death, or the deceased leaving (you) behind. ‘I’m not helpless anymore,’ too.

……………………          Nine of Cups and Eight of Swords    Here is where we get being content within limitations. They do say ‘Can’t have everything you want.’ Note that the ‘not anymore’ card, Six of Swords, makes ‘Glad I’m not helpless anymore’ possible for these two cards. These two are also about being happy someone else is shut in, shut down and shut up. Ahem … with Eight of Swords being the actual death card in Tarot Verbatim™, they say ‘Glad you’re dead’ or even ‘I want to die.’ Nine of Cups and Eight of Swords are not happy bedfellows.

We look squarely in the face the thing or things that limit us severely. Luckily, we have an escape hatch: We are getting over these factors. How we want to get out of this place, this situation, this town! How we want to get over this disability, this limitation … whatever the impeding factor is. Our greatest wish – the thing that would make us the happiest – is simply to no longer be in the situation we are in. That escape would make us as happy as being wealthy would have made us in the past!

LEARN TAROT BY PICTURES

.

Six of Swords     .……..      You see a woman and child huddled in the fog in an open boat, ‘just the clothes on their backs.’ A friend is silently paddling them away from shore in shallow water at dawn or twilight. Leaving here with your tail between your legs. Better times ahead, and never coming back here.

It is the dark before the turning point.

.

Nine of Cups     ………….        That feeling that Americans get after Thanksgiving dinner: Nine of Cups describes that safunsified, satisfied, gratified, contentment. You ate and drank all … and more … than you could possibly contain. Nine of Cups can extend this, in its spectrum of meanings, to the kind of greed that ‘wants a little more,’ but that is a small sliver of its spectrum. This concept is expressed by a picture of a chubby guy who has clearly imbibed and consumed to his heart’s content: He is overweight from having it all, and happy nevertheless.

.

Eight of Swords     ……….       No wiggle room here. Diminished vision … which is voluntary, witnessed by the loose cloths that bind the gal … is making her helpless and limiting her … us. Eight of Swords is trapped, isolated from the support of whoever lives in the castle on the hill … or maybe exiled by those – her – people. But note that what ties her down is very loose … in the same way that the chains that tie Adam and Eve, the human couple, down in Devil are loose. What limits her is within herself – is her belief that she is limited and constrained.

Again today I’m getting the most from the summary under “Learn Tarot By Observing”.
And I am wanting out of a situation. And have narrowly escaped another.

    • This part of the site parallels GUIDANCE. It is in italics more or less for that reason.
“We look squarely in the face the thing or things that limit us severely. That escape would make us as happy as being wealthy would have made us in the past!”
      Oh, yeah!

  2. Lori

There’s nothing more I could want here, so it’s time to go.

    Pretty much sums it up!
