Tarot Readings for You for January 17, 2015 Saturday©

Jan 16, 2015 by

GUIDANCE       You don’t have to make a Declaration of Independence when independence is where it’s at for you; you can just not answer the dependence calls. You don’t have to be defiant or adamant about taking charge of your circumstances. You can opt out of the pecking order, the hierarchy, and be the one who doesn’t give orders and doesn’t take them either. When you don’t want anything from anybody, you are the captain of your soul and the master of your interior castle; you cannot be dominated because there’s no handle there unless to choose to put one there, and why should you do that? If you are successful by your own definition, well, you are successful; you don’t need someone else’s Certificate of Success.

Now, Part Two,

Do you want to know a little, or a lot, about how this Tarot Verbatim™ thing works? If so,

*Go to Learn Tarot by Observing section below. This tells about the combined meanings of the three cards in the pictures in the Tarot Readings.  It explains how these cards get together in your mind to make the messages. HERE ARE PHRASES FOR ALL THREE 2-CARD COMBINATIONS is a stream-of-consciousness bridge to your subconscious if you use it regularly – people report.

*Go to Learn Tarot by Pictures.  It is what each of the cards, by itself, has to say.  It shows you how that illustration makes that card’s meanings in today’s Spread. All the words of each Tarot card reading you see here are a phrase-by-phrase translation of the scene pictured on those cards: no filler, no psychic impressions, no spirit guide. Word-for-word Tarot Verbatim™.

You can put all this together and intuitively see yourself how Tarot Verbatim™ works.

This is a group reading, with no Questioner and no Question to limit what the cards say, so there’s more variety – even contradictions – than a personal reading would give you. Also, pronouns are flexible: If the sentence feels like it’s yours, and it says ‘he,’ but you’re a ‘she,’ well, it’s yours.

*AND if you write names of any two cards into the Google search bar, it will give you meanings of those!

Nine of Pentacles – Four of Cups – Ace of Swords

LEARN TAROT BY OBSERVING

.

……………….…………………… Well, well. Two out of three of these cards are the easiest ones in the deck to read – which is a good thing because we have not one but two with very similar meanings. Nine of Pentacles is famous for her independence; she is the lord of her domain who answers to no one, who don’t need nobody. The other two say ‘don’t take orders.’ Four of Cups, well look at the picture: Four of Cups don’t take anything. And Ace of Swords, well, now, that’s some command, some force there – the naked double-edged blade with the crown on it. Today you don’t need to be Tarot-lady or Tarot-man to read the spread. Note that both Nine of Pentacles and Four of Cups ‘do not respond.’ Both Nine of Pentacles and Ace of Swords are success cards too, and both of them are ‘standing their ground.’ Fear not: This is a guided tour.

……………………….. Nine of Pentacles is being content with what you have, and taking ownership of what you own, enjoying the scope of your current lifestyle in utter privacy. She doesn’t need your help, and don’t ask her for a loan – that’s our Nine of Pentacles girl. The snail at her feet says she does things in her own sweet time. The falcon (Yes, it’s supposed to be a falcon) on her wrist is a hobby. At midday (yellow sky: sun) she wears an elaborate robe, another indication she does things on her own schedule. And that’s a well-manicured vineyard behind her, a home-based business if ever there was one. Sole proprietor is one of Nine of Pentacles’ meanings, and so are businesswoman, and occupying a niche that assures your career stability, and working at home. Successful – that’s one of her words too. So are: single woman; owning the home or land or business (or all the above); competent at a skill; sensible woman; being successful in your own right; and enjoying life just the way you are. The person Nine of Pentacles appears for does not have to be well-off or recognized, or self-made, at all: This could be an heiress or an invalid who has hands on the steering wheel of circumstance.

……………………….. Four of Cups doesn’t have much to say, just like his picture doesn’t. Four of Cups is not responding, is refusing … refusing to answer, refusing each and every time, refusing each and every one … refusing to refuse. Four of Cups is a ‘No comment’ kind of card. Seated with both arms and legs crossed, head averted as the disembodied hand (Destiny?) offers yet another chalice. It almost always means exactly what you see here. Once in a while it’s about being lazy; it means ‘turnoff,’ especially in romance layouts; it means ‘refuse to acknowledge,’ and sometimes it’s about not getting it over and over. It’s definitely saying ‘No, he won’t call you,’ and can be telling you not to respond.

..……………..…………. Ace of Swords, you can’t miss that meaning. Victory, a big win (and defeat and a big loss on the other end: Look twice for which end you have ahold of). Ace of Swords is a challenge, a dare, a threat, an ultimatum, an imperative (order), an absolute of any kind, total and totally, power and supreme power, and it means ‘must’ or ‘have to.’ It is also defiance and can mean militant. It translates ‘gotta’ a lot, a word most people’s subconscious gravitates to.

……….………… Nine of Pentacles and Four of Cups Nine of Pentacles and Four of Cups mainly are a private person not responding, or a person staying home and enjoying that privacy, instead of or rather than some other thing. Minding my own business (Nine of Pentacles) and refusing … (Four of Cups).

Since Four of Cups is one of those negators (cards that are a negative modifier to other cards, like: no, never, not, won’t, etc.), for many of the meanings of these two, you can just take one or more of the meanings of Nine of Pentacles, and add some negative language – which may or may not cancel out Nine of Pentacles’ meaning(s). So instead of ‘Not about to stay home,’ you can read ‘Stays home and is not about to.’ An example of this would be ‘Whatever you detach from cannot be’ instead of, say, ‘isn’t detaching from.’ When you don’t want anything from anybody (Nine of Pentacles), you cannot … (Four of Cups). I’m doing well as I see it (Nine of Pentacles), and I don’t have to … (Four of Cups). Stand your ground and say ‘Not about to,’ instead of ‘not about to stand your ground. You get it, I’m sure, so I won’t give you any more of these: They are in Nine of Pentacles and Four of Cups in the HERE ARE PHRASES FOR ALL THREE 2-CARD COMBINATIONS section. You have privacy (Nine of Pentacles) just by refusing to divulge (Four of Cups). So not answering (Four of Cups) is the way she enjoys her life (Nine of Pentacles). Nine of Pentacles is owning a house, so put Four of Cups there, and you have ‘not owned a house.’

x..

……….………… Nine of Pentacles and Ace of Swords Nine of Pentacles and Ace of Swords are both about standing your ground. Ace of Swords can be militant about it, and is adamant (absolutely) about it, whereas Nine of Pentacles occupies her turf all by herself in peace and quiet. When you put the two of them together, Nine of Pentacles occupation becomes more militant and is just as thorough, because, well she does totally occupy her ground without any help from Ace of Swords. Her effect on Ace of Swords is to tone it down by limiting it to rightful occupation of place and position.

Being ordered around (Ace of Swords), we stand our ground (Nine of Pentacles). Ace of Swords adds ‘No interference!’ to her ‘I am the captain of my soul.’ See? We have pieces of ideas as these two similar cards attach themselves to the other card instead of to one another … like two magnets would each seek the opposite poles of one another. She is the private person, and Ace of Swords pipes in with ‘absolutely.’ Ace of Swords is achieving, so ‘achieved owning a house of my own,’ but Ace of Swords is also a big threat, so these two same cards can also say ‘Having my own space is a big threat to me.’ (Of course, in real life, Four of Cups makes that ‘Not having my own space’ – Four of Cups with Nine of Pentacles). This is a great example of the way language-based Tarot works. x..

……..………… Four of Cups and Ace of Swords Four of Cups and Ace of Swords sometimes have the same meaning here: of ‘Absolutely not,’ since both can be adamantly refusing to (be or do). This can be confusing when you are putting the pieces of your spreads together, but it’s Tarot life. The simple thing these to say is ‘You can’t make me.’ Ace of Swords is force, orders, and such; Four of Cups is refusing – so refusing orders, ‘You can’t make me.’ So these say ‘cannot be forced upon you’ and ‘cannot be dominated.’ Ace of Swords can be proving it, or the guarantee, so here we have ‘I don’t have to prove it.’ ‘Absolutely not’ is, of course, the ‘absolutely’ of Ace of Swords’ all-one-way meaning, combined with the negation of Four of Cups. Being ordered around (Ace of Swords) is such a turnoff (Four of Cups). Isn’t anybody’s (Four of Cups) dictator (Ace of Swords). You don’t have to (Four of Cups) be defiant or adamant (Ace of Swords). Four of Cups says ‘no way around it’ to Ace of Swords being the boss.

Once again, when you have a card paired with a negator, you may have the denial of the meaning of the card that is being modified by the negative one. Like ‘You can’t (Four of Cups) win the battle (Ace of Swords). Lastly, notice that, with Ace of Swords saying ‘orders,’ the negation of that reads both: doesn’t take orders, and doesn’t give orders – in the absence of a card that would direct that to one or the other meaning. That card isn’t there because, of course, we intend to say it both ways today: that’s who Nine of Pentacles is, that’s how the lady lives. x..

Today we extend ‘things I won’t put up with’ all the way to militantly or scrupulously minding our own business, neither borrowing nor lending aught from others. There is a price tag for taking this position, and we are not commenting on that. We talk about staying home, working at home, and we talk about neither giving nor taking orders. We are single and proud of it today. We are totally content accepting no input, being independent. We have a ‘Do not disturb’ sign on us.’

Nine of Pentacles…….. Nine of Pentacles is unflappable and unfazed: She is herself, she enjoys and is content with where she’s at, and is self-sufficient but not necessarily self-made or well-off. She is successful at least by her own measure, has a good grip on the steering wheel of her days. Nine of Pentacles owns her turf, and may own home, producing land, business, or be entrepreneurial or work at home. She is very likely to be skilled – at least very competent. Her privacy is her hallmark, as is her independence. This card in Tarot Verbatim™ stands for a single woman, and a sensible woman – head screwed on straight, self-confident. It will not represent a male person, but may express the traits or the actions of a male, since Tarot Verbatim™ is language-based.

All these traits of Nine of Pentacles are expressed in the illustration. The snail says ‘in her own time.’ The falcon, and wearing such an elaborate robe at noon (yellow sky) say she has has leisure. Behind her is a vineyard, a home-based business for a landowner.

.

Four of Cups …………. Four of Cups is an easy read: ‘No.’ His arms and legs are crossed as he sits; his head is turned away from the latest of four offers. He ain’t innerested, isn’t responding, has nothing to say and … Go away. The cards doesn’t have much to say either. Other meanings from it are things like: is turned off by; refuses to admit or to acknowledge; isn’t going to ever ‘get it’; and, no, he won’t … won’t do whatever the question is. Four of Cups is sometimes tell you to be like that.

.

Ace of Swords…………. Ace of Swords is a double edged sword in its application as well as its meaning. Do you remember the story of the great general who went to the oracle at Delphi and asked (his army with him) ‘What happens if we invade Persia?’ Oracle who knows all and isn’t dumb either said ‘A great empire will fall.’ She didn’t tell him it was his empire of which she spoke. Always ask your question precisely: ‘What’s up?’ and ‘What will happen?’ are not really questions.

There’s no gray zone, Ace of Swords tells you: It’s ALL one way: total, complete, absolute. It means victory, total victory (for one side). Ace of Swords is force, power and supreme power, supremacy and dominance, threat, challenge, dare, imperative (I gotta It’s an order. Must. Have to.). Ace of Swords is an order or command, an ultimatum. It is also defiance and can say ‘militant.’ It is a weapon (obviously) too – any weapon.

Once in a while that ‘no gray zone, all one way’ applies to something you would not think of that way. Not very often. It’s all or nothing.
