Tarot Readings for You for January 21, 2015 Wednesday©

Jan 20, 2015 by

GUIDANCE      Remember when all women were (made sure they were) true believers in their man’s authority, and in the authorities everywhere. That was being a Lady. If you were a Lady, you could marry a Leading Man and live happily ever after. You two had a contract stronger than any written one that he would pay the bills and keep all bad things away, and she would believe in him and make him powerful. The world worked like that for a long time. There was a lot more to it, of course, than that. Like she would not work, and she would not complain about his indiscretions. Well, why are we visiting them? I don’t know, but here they are, along with some other intriguing questions and observations. I suspect this message is talking to someone specific, because this is not our usual thing.

Do you want to know a little, or a lot, about how this Tarot Verbatim™ thing works? If so,

*Go to Learn Tarot by Observing section below. This tells about the combined meanings of the three cards in the pictures in the Tarot Readings.  It explains how these cards get together in your mind to make the messages. HERE ARE PHRASES FOR ALL THREE 2-CARD COMBINATIONS is a stream-of-consciousness bridge to your subconscious  – people report.

*Go to Learn Tarot by Pictures.  It is what each of the cards, by itself, has to say.  It shows you how that illustration makes that card’s meanings in today’s Spread. All the words of each Tarot card reading you see here are a phrase-by-phrase translation of the scene pictured on those cards: no filler, no psychic impressions, no spirit guide. *AND if you write names of any two cards into the Google search bar, it will give you meanings of those!

Queen of Cups – King of Swords – Page of Cups

LEARN TAROT BY OBSERVING

.

……………….……………………Note that we have three ‘court cards,’ three people cards. A spread like that is awkward to read. This one is pretty straightforward, though.

King of Swords is the manly man, the disciplined authoritative man, the grown up man, the policeman or other such man’s-man occupation. I call him John Wayne, and observe this is who most (American) men want to be … when they grow up.

Queen of Cups is the sweet-kind-loyal perfect wife and girl friend, the dumb blond, the woman who understands and loves her man, etc. Sally Struthers in All in the Family, for example. (She has other meanings – later.)

Page of Cups is perfect as the other card in this spread family. He says ‘Duh’ and he means the silly side of things. He asks the question.

………………………..Queen of Cups is that sweet gal who loves her man, understands her man, stands by her man. She is always thinking, but may be thinking about … something she thinks about. That do-dad she is staring at, for instance. She has faith, she believes, and her world is small and … we hope … cozy.

……………………….. King of Swords is that rigid sort of fellow who has to have some force, some power to himself, even if he is king of the pool hall, you know? He is the man every American man wants to be, the John Wayne. Men who act like this, other men consider leaders, or at lest the leader of the pack. He needs other people in order to be powerful, so he is all about that image, and you find other men around him. He usually plays it to the hilt, and we all salute.

..………………………. Page of Cups is the silly side of things, the question a court jester might ask. He stands for humor sometimes, as he does today. Today he is questioning the image and the roles these two people are entwined in. This card has applications along the lines of an action or an opinion, or an image, being weird, unaccounted for, or dumb. (In the first Self position of Celtic Cross, it alerts the reader that ‘This is weird, but it’s correct.’) It can mean inappropriately dressed because this fellow is wearing women’s clothes. It can represent being gay for that reason (either gender).

……….…………. Queen of Cups and King of Swords   Queen of Cups and King of Swords are the stereotype of the manly strong man and his sweet-kind-loyal naive woman who understands and still admires him. The old-fashioned married team. He is being the strong manly man she sees him as, and underneath it all, her genius is to know that and predispose him to be that way for her. Remember, Queen of Cups is ‘to know and admire your guy.’ So you have: She thinks I’m the leading man; I be the man she sees me as; he wants to be the pillar of strength she sees him as.

However, sometimes Queen of Cups, whose key word is ‘think and dream’ also appears as a woman with a mind of her own, so when you see that next to the strong man, you get ‘man enough for a woman with a mind of her own.’ That’s where we get: She’s paying attention to see whether he is a grownup; she loves him for his strength; she is checking him out re his being militant. x..

……….………… Queen of Cups and Page of Cups  Queen of Cups and Page of Cups are thinking and wondering (Queen of Cups is thinking; Page of Cups is wondering). Queen of Cups is the stereotype sweet-kind-loyal type of gal, probably naive, and she believes in conventional ways. Page of Cups means silly, humor, and puts your reading into question form. So we have: What’s she doing? What’s that nice girl doing? What’s (he) doing with a simple gal like her? Can I get a sweet gal like her? Where’s my man? (Queen of Cups as a card bring up ‘the man’ because that is her obsession.

‘I’m a goofball,’ Page of Cups, ‘and she thinks I’m a leading man,’ Queen of Cups. She loves him (Queen of Cups) for his humor (Page of Cups). She understands her man (Queen of Cups) even when he is silly (Page of Cups).

Page of Cups means ‘dumb’ and Queen of Cups is very blond, so these two can say ‘dumb blond.’ x..

……..………… King of Swords and Page of Cups   King of Swords and Page of Cups question a man’s manhood, wonder about a man or wonder whether this man is manly, or is a grownup, or is powerful – because all of those are meanings for King of Swords, and Page of Cups is a kind of Johnny-one-note card about wondering, questioning, and being in appropriate or humorous. They also say ‘wondering about a man’ or ‘a man wonders.’ They also say a man is being silly. Note they say ‘Where is that man?’ x..

Some of us long for the old days of the rigid roles, because those roles were honored and rewarded, and there’s nothing that’s true of anymore. Divorcing was a bone-deep disgrace. There were penalties in a man’s financial life for not being the family man (although he could fool around discretely) and there were good rewards for being the family man. Job security was one of them. Being respected without question was another. Today’s spread hearkens back to the roles in that way of life.

LEARN TAROT BY PICTURES

.

Queen of Cups…….. mainly is a well-meaning nice person who is loyal to her man especially, and believes all the things she thinks she is supposed to believe – definitely a product of her culture, whatever the culture is. You see her staring at a funky artifact as a flood surrounds her throne. Water indicates an emotional person or situation. The scene here is saying she pays attention to random irrelevant things instead of to what’s really going on around her. However, the key word for Queen of Cups is ‘think’ (as well as ‘dream’), so she appears as ‘a woman with a mind of her own’ or ‘the woman knows’ or ‘the woman who knows.’ She sometimes begins sentences as ‘She knows’ for this card.

.

King of Swords…………. King of Swords is the strong man, the disciplined man, the military type, the leader – the type of man other men look up to and want to be. He usually has erect posture. He finds a scene that suits and bolsters his image. He tends to rule something, especially his home, but maybe there’s a sports bar or a gym where ‘everybody knows him.’ He minds his image and goes out of his way to avoid scandal even if he is some kind of crook.

.

Page of Cups …………. Page of Cups is one of the ‘Duh’ cards. It makes your sentence a question very often; it means the word or verb ‘question.’ Page of Cups means weird, puzzle (like Seven of Pentacles), wonder, stupid, awkward or feeling awkward, make a fool of oneself, to not know, humor, even a comedian. Page of Cups can mean inappropriately dressed, since this fellow is wearing women’s clothes, and for that reason can represent a gay person of either gender, a cross-dresser or maybe a transsexual. Watch for this card, when it appears as the first Self card in Celtic Cross, to be a flag to the reader that, yes, this does not make sense, but, hey, that’s the way it is – it’s accurate. And when that happens, it’s usually VERY true.

I said just today to a friend, “where is my John Wayne?” Not that I am going to stay home, but I miss the time (or my perception of the time) that men were men, and took pride in taking care of their woman. What I see now are “guys” and “boys” who can’t take care of themselves let alone somebody else. I want somebody who is proud to be with me not somebody I have to chase after. I may be asking for too much, but that is what I want.

    • Some people say the lack of the draft is a factor, that the military discipline brings out the manhood in the male. In the Sixties, the hippie females were entrepreneurial and the hippie dudes were useless: to proud, too important in their penury to ‘work for the man’ as they put it. This, at any rate, is the era that ushered in the unmanly, scattered, whiny and somewhat helpless stereotype male.
There will always be ‘manly men,’ and, today, I find most of them are military in their backgrounds. Posture really is the first sign of who’s who.
There are still gentlemen around, too: You just have to look under the leaves and in out-of-the-way places. Manly men, the kind we are thinking of here, are not pencil-pushers, and are seldom salespeople. Exceptions to it all of course exist, but when you’re out hunting, you tend to look for rich sources of your prey.
