Tarot Readings for You for January 3, 2015 Saturday©

GUIDANCE     There’s that ‘Don’t tell me I can’t’ sitting on ‘most everyone’s shoulder, or at least lurking somewhere in their psyche. And then there’s that ‘Don’t even try’ list. We all have those lists too: Things that aren’t worth doing, things that aren’t worth the effort, and things that are impossible that we would like to do. That’s our study today, a simple one.

.

Are YOU here for the first time? Come in!

People love this place! Our site is divided into four sections: Guidance, Tarot Readings, Learn Tarot by Observation, and Learn Tarot by Pictures.
If you just want your daily look ahead, Guidance and Tarot Readings are all you need. ‘Guidance’ (above) is a summary of what the cards are telling visitors to be aware of this day.

‘Group Tarot Cards Reading’ (just below this) is the actual word-for-word messages from the pictures of the three cards you see – to everyone. These readings are about you and the people around you.  They are about today and the days around it. So, go ahead and pick the sentences you feel are yours and decide whether to encourage or reject them for yourself.

Did you come here for your predictions? – You are done now – See you tomorrow. The family of commenters here would love for you to join in (the very last thing, at the bottom).

Tarot Readings: There’s No Way I Can’t (Eight of Cups and Eight of Swords)

Not anything can stop me.

Don’t tell me I can’t!

There’s always a way around the impossible.

When they say there’s nothing you can do about it, I just walk off.

Some things you just can’t quit on.

Don’t talk like you’re helpless anymore.

So many times, I haven’t been able to quit.

Get out of that jail quickly.

..…..

Tarot Readings: Things-Not-to-Do List (Eight of Cups and Eight of Wands)

All the things you can’t do don’t count.

Things that can’t be done, you just don’t do.

As soon as I can’t do something, I go on to something else.

Drop out early when you are prevented from going forward.

When you can’t, give up and go on to other things.

I am avoiding some subjects I can’t talk about.

I don’t talk about the death anymore.

Lots of disabilities, but there are other abilities.

Things block your path all the time; just detour around them.

Avoid that road where there were so many deaths.

Lots of ways to prevent things before they happen.

We couldn’t talk, so I just left.

Many deaths were averted.

I got a list of cramped scenes I up and left.

I left when there wasn’t anything I could do about it.

When it doesn’t do any good to talk, I shut up.

I left because I just can’t listen to that kind of talk.

Now, Part Two,

Do you want to know a little, or a lot, about how this Tarot Verbatim™ thing works? If so,

*Go to Learn Tarot by Observing section below. This tells about the combined meanings of the three cards in the pictures in the Tarot Readings.  It explains how these cards get together in your mind to make the messages. HERE ARE PHRASES FOR ALL THREE 2-CARD COMBINATIONS is a stream-of-consciousness bridge to your subconscious if you use it regularly – people report.

*Go to Learn Tarot by Pictures.  It is what each of the cards, by itself, has to say.  It shows you how that illustration makes that card’s meanings in today’s Spread. All the words of each Tarot card reading you see here are a phrase-by-phrase translation of the scene pictured on those cards: no filler, no psychic impressions, no spirit guide. Word-for-word Tarot Verbatim™.

You can put all this together and intuitively see yourself how Tarot Verbatim™ works.

This is a group reading, with no Questioner and no Question to limit what the cards say, so there’s more variety – even contradictions – than a personal reading would give you. Also, pronouns are flexible: If the sentence feels like it’s yours, and it says ‘he,’ but you’re a ‘she,’ well, it’s yours.

*AND if you write names of any two cards into the Google search bar, it will give you meanings of those!

Eight of Cups – Eight of Wands – Eight of Swords

.

LEARN TAROT BY OBSERVING

.

……………….……………………      To the left is quit. To the right is ‘can’t.’ In the center is a list of things. The center, Eight of Wands, also means talk, quickly or   fast, and increasing or increasingly. You can put ‘can’t’ and ‘quit’ together to make ‘can’t quit.’ But ‘can’t quit’ has to apply to talk, or to quickly, or to increasing. Not much there. Eight of Swords is the actual death card in Tarot Verbatim™ which creates some more expressions. But we don’t have a lot of wiggle room here; we are not going to soar today. (By the way, it’s rare to have three cards with the same number.)

………………………..      Eight of Cups shows a pilgrim having to detour because of terrain. There’s a built-in assumption he will resume his journey’s direction when he can. Eight of Cups gets around too: more meanings that you would think come out of the idea of aborting course here. Some of them are: Drop out; leave; not show up; quit; avoid; over with before it begins; abrupt, disappear or vanish; walk away; go out of your way; another way; didn’t go that way; avert; prevent; give up; get out; on a tangent; abortion; don’t bother to; derail; anymore; isn’t what it used to be; abandon; get away from; intercepted, interrupted, get out of a rut; called off; default; skip out; are not what they used to be; a change; don’t go there; isn’t the way to; take a wrong turn; run off the road; bypass; before it’s over; shortcut; near-miss; off-road; leaving just when __ arrived; hasn’t yet; re-route; exception; short-lived; depart from; boycott; never get to; fell off the wagon; I’m over being __ or I’m over it or get over it. Eight of Cups is also things that don’t count, that are exceptions, so it could mean being eliminated from, say, a tournament or other competition … or from a bad list. You can think of the slang phrase ‘Don’t go there’ as an Eight of Cups title in your head. Those are the easy ones you think of first.

………………………..      Eight of Wands is a pluralizer – one of the cards that can make a nearby one plural. Its main meanings are any form of communication (tells, what is said, text, email, talk), an increase or increasingly (more and more), words that mean many (all, all of them, those things, all kids of, a lot of, several), and quickly (rapidly, fast, speedily), and sometimes it adds ‘-est’ or ‘-iest’ meaning ‘the most.’ Sometimes Eight of Wands refers to progress or ‘going forward.’ The communication meanings expand to include listening to the talk. Eight of Wands also frequently is a list, or the word ‘list.’ The picture of the limbs flying in the air looks a little like lines on a paper (for the communication meanings), and they are moving quickly. That’s about all the correlation there is to the picture, but these meanings are the way Eight of Wands functions.

………………………..      Eight of Swords is about being helpless, unable, can’t, boxed in, tied up, stuck and stymied. It is the lead card for death, and it is being locked up in a jail as well. The illustration shows a blindfolded woman tied up loosely, who is surrounded by the eight swords, on swampy ground. Is that house her dwelling? Eight of Swords is mainly about ‘can’t.’ Sometimes it’s about can’t-itis, self-limitation and feeling helpless or being blocked. You know how people will say ‘My hands are tied?’ when they don’t want to do whatever-it-is anyway? That’s Eight of Swords, often. Eight of Swords shows up for disability, for mental blocks, for a poor-me attitude, and for actual helplessness like an old black dog in a high-kill shelter.

……….………….      Eight of Cups and Eight of Wands    Eight of Cups and Eight of Wands combine a change of course with speed, so here is running off the road, or the ramp to a interstate highway. You also ran off the road (Eight of Cups) at high speed (Eight of Wands) … maybe avoiding (Eight of Cups) a deer on the road. Eight of Cups is aborting course, detouring onto a different route, or getting out of there in a hurry. There’s always (Eight of Wands) a way around (Eight of Cups). In social situations, the ‘abrupt change’ part of Eight of Cups meets the ‘quick and fast’ part of Eight of Wands, and someone leaves in a huff, or drops out in the first week, or gets out of there in a hurry. Eight of Cups is ‘quit’ and Eight of Wands is talking, so quit talking, maybe got interrupted because Eight of Cups can be that too – or just didn’t say it, or don’t tell me. You could also walk away in the middle (Eight of Cups) of someone’s talk (Eight of Wands), or leave the speech. ‘Bite my tongue’ too – to almost, but not, say it. x..

……….………….      Eight of Cups and Eight of Swords     Eight of Cups and Eight of Swords combines avoidance with the impossible. So you can’t (Eight of Swords’ favorite word) avoid (Eight of Cups). Or you don’t because it’s impossible. Or you do the impossible another way, because ‘another way’ belongs to Eight of Cups as part of the ‘detour’ meaning. Or you can’t quit because Eight of Cups quits and Eight of Swords can’t. Eight of Cups is a detour, and it means to avoid and to avert, and Eight of Swords is death, so you avoid death, you detour around a road where deaths have happened, or you avert or prevent some deaths. ‘Prevent things before they happen’ comes from both of these cards potentially meaning ‘prevent’ and Eight of Cups meaning something ends before it starts, is over with before it begins, or is nipped in the bud. Then there’s ‘You can’t stop me’ because Eight of Swords is can’t, and Eight of Cups in unfinished – but there are many better ways to say ‘You can’t stop me’ than this. ..

……..……………     Eight of Wands and Eight of Swords    Eight of Wands and Eight of Swords say ‘many deaths’ and ‘Talk about the death’ of course. They also say ‘can’t talk’ and ‘We couldn’t talk’ and even ‘I just can’t listen to that kind of talk.’ Some things (Eight of Wands) I can’t (Eight of Swords) talk about (Eight of Wands again). They are a list of impossible things, so the word ‘impossibilities’ could appear. Eight of Wands is quickly and Eight of Swords is to shut down or stifle, so you have Archie Bunker telling Edith to ‘Stifle yourself’ or perhaps someone quickly quenching, say, a fire. ‘Talk like (Eight of Wands) you’re helpless (Eight of Swords).’ You could also have someone unable to speak, either as a disability or as ‘I have nothing to say.’ As a matter of fact, you could have lots of (Eight of Wands) disabilities (Eight of Swords). x..

No, there’s not always a way around the impossible, but try all routes before you say it’s impossible, if that impossible place is where you really really want to go. Sometimes you commit to the impossible, you draw that line in the impossible sand and say ‘This is the way it’s gonna be.’ Time, blood and sweat and tears later, you are there, having paid the impossible price of admission. Doing the impossible is an acquired taste, but its liquor is very intoxicating. Come on in, the water’s fine here.

Eight of Cups      ……..      Eight of Cups You are going someplace very intentional – a pilgrimage. And there’s a mountain in your way. You detour, and you go the way around the obstacle, to later resume course. You disappear off the radar, blip off the screen, and pop up where no one would have invited you. Or you run off the road. Anything uncompleted or unfinished (even that symphony) is Eight of Cups. Eight of Cups is also a quick change. Eight of Cups avoids, prevents, averts, bypasses, shortcuts, interrupts, cancels and defaults. You just don’t hear from him … but he might be back, because of that pilgrimage. No explanations come with this Eight of Cups card.

.

Eight of Wands     ………….       Eight of Wands goes on and on, repeats, is fast-moving, staccato rhythm, talks a lot, communicates regularly, and has lists, has things – more and more things, things mounting up. Eight of Wands is a busy card.

.

Eight of Swords    ………….   Eight of Swords got stuck here in the swamp and feels she is stymied, stifled, shut in, unable, and can’t do anything about it. Eight of Swords’ illustration shows a woman but this card has no gender; it is about the situations so it shows up whenever you or anyone feel this way, or are in that kind of a jamb. Most often, it is saying ‘can’t.’ Unable is a close second. Stuck, stifled, stymied, shut in, shut down. This is the card for disabilities. A person who feels helpless, is: That is the message of Eight of Swords.

Every time the eight of swords showed up in my life, the Eight of Cards got me out. Like the eight of wands, this has happened many, many times in my life . Emily, you were one instance of that. What’s up with the eights by the way?

    • Eight of Cups is a very interesting card, hard to pin down, unexpected aspects. Here’s an example in Five of Cups with Eight of Cups, where Eight of Cups means these things: I didn’t follow up. Almost. It didn’t last. Not anymore. Lifts. What could have been but wasn’t. Not finishing. I had left there. I had quit. The things we didn’t do. I had left you.

Five of Cups can bring in negative words through the ‘regret’ category of meanings. You can regret doing, or regret not doing, and Eight of Cups can mean not finishing, not doing, and switching from one to the other course. So, as often happens, you have overlaps when you are making phrases.

Here’s the sentences they come from:
      Sorry I didn’t follow up.
      Almost lost.
      Sorry it didn’t last.
      Not sorry anymore.
      Depression lifts.
Miss what could have been but wasn’t.
      Regret not finishing.
If only I had left there.
      Wish I had not quit.
We regret the things we didn’t do.
If only I had left you.

      • Mary

Don’t worry. I don’t forget. I get busy and stuck on detours, but I come back. We had a family gathering. For the first time, my daughter met a part of the extended family she will fit in with. It was good. Reunion with you will be soon too.
