Tarot Readings for You for May 4, 2015 Monday©

GUIDANCE          Being alive is phasing out of one situation into another. Sometimes the phasing out is seamless, and sometimes it is an upheaval. We are looking at the transition, at the point where the gear is being shifted. A transition can go either way as to how it feels to us, and either way as to whether it is actually an improvement on where we are at right now. Since we may not be aware the gears have shifted at the moment they do, we may feel bad about a thing that will be good, or feel elated about a thing that will turn out to be regrettable. That’s called Life. Our focus is on the subtlety of the shift, and our implication suggests paying attention both to the direction and to the feeling.

Tarot Readings: In the Process of Putting Something Behind (Two of Pentacles and Six of Swords)

Yay! I’m getting out of being stymied, and better times are ahead.

Every once in a while, from now on, I’m getting out of the house for some fun.

A very lighthearted going-away party.

In the process of putting this scene behind me – What a relief!

Happy again, putting something behind me.

Getting out from under one restriction after another.

Out of a disappointment and into something fun.

Someone who left the scene is delighted to be back home again.

Avoid doing the same impulsive thing over again.

You are so glad to avoid another slip-up.

.…….. .……….

Tarot Readings: Not a Kid Anymore (Sun and Six of Swords)

I avoided having children because it made me queasy.

The kid who left home for better times is, well, back here.

I’m not that silly kid anymore – I got over that phase.

Revisiting a depressing childhood.

Things that kept happening when I was young aren’t happening anymore.

I’m not young anymore: It’s come to this!

…… .……….

Tarot Readings: In the Process of Leaving (Two of Pentacles and Sun)

In the process of moving away and leaving the house behind.

Get out of there before things go south.

I’m out of here and am free for what is next.

It could have gone either way so I exited the position. (investment talk here)

.…….. .……….

Tarot Readings: Isn’t Fun Anymore (Sun and Six of Swords)

Things go sideways and life isn’t any more fun.

The fun days fade away one after the other.

The way things are going, I’m not as funloving as I was.

This isn’t fun anymore, so let’s just go on to something else.

.…….. .……….

Tarot Readings: Ups and Downs (Two of Pentacles = Sun and Six of Swords)

Cycles of elation and sadness.

So glad I no longer go through those cycles.

Phase out of the cycle of just being the fun guy.

I’m going through this goofy phase – I’ll get over it.

Two of Pentacles – Sun – Six of Swords

.

LEARN TAROT BY OBSERVING

.. ..……. .……….     All three of our Tarot citizens at our table today involve getting out of one thing and into another, so we are about transition.

……………………. Six of Swords is a transition: Its illustration shows leaving a sad situation behind and moving ahead.

……………………. Two of Pentacles is going from one thing to another, which may be a transition but is more likely to be a back-and-forth cycle, or a return: Either way‘ is even one of its meanings. It describes upheaval, instability, and indecision. You can see the back-and-forth swing in its illustration, and you can see the upheaval too, especially in the boats being tossed about behind the figure of the juggler.

…………………… Sun today emphasizes fun, enjoyment, and getting out from under some restriction. It’s the presence of Six of Swords that creates that emphasis, because Six of Swords is moving ahead to better times. Sun also is about child, children, childhood and youth. Sun is also about leaving abruptly, being relieved to leave, and Sun can be getting out of the frying pan into the fire, because the tyke has streaked out of the house to mount, bareback and recklessly, a pony who isn’t part of his game.

Moving on. You don’t always know you’re doing it at the time you begin to. Your underlying self disengages from a scene, and your everyday self catches on midstream with ‘I guess I got over it’ or ‘Look, I’m into something really good here somehow’ or ‘Uh-oh, look what I’m getting into here.’ There is often a built-in delay to our awareness of our transitions that our wiser self (a not-conscious department of our psyche) knew about all along. Keeping in touch with this wiser self is a good idea, because being in touch with it is a compass that informs us of the direction we are heading.

Now we show where each of the phrases in each of the sentences comes from:

This spread demonstrates how the ‘not anymore’ of Six of Swords straddles a card and negates it without the proximity you expect from a negator card, AND it demonstrates the same for the ‘one after another’ phrase of Two of Pentacles, which also straddles another card to apply itself to that card’s meaning.
