Tarot Readings for You for November 30, 2015 Monday©

Nov 28, 2015 by

GUIDANCE           We find comforts that we rely upon to counterbalance the daily grind, don’t we all? As simple as morning coffee and a nightcap with friends to say hello and goodbye to the day, and as complex as our various defenses against real trouble.

When it’s those small or complex comforts that are threatened, we are upset out of proportion as if a rug were pulled out from under us. The coffee pot doesn’t work, or our drinking buddy can’t make it this evening … All’s not right with the world.

A couple makes a bubble of love in their home life that keeps the monsters at bay. That makes their romance like the practice of a religion, and makes the loss of their warm-fuzziness a larger crisis.

Tarot Readings: Worries, a Thing of the Past (Nine of Swords and Six of Cups)

Got my shield of detachment up: Worries are a thing of the past.

Be as indifferent to the anxiety as to the warm-fuzzies.

I cannot be bothered worrying about childhood.

I am comfortable under stress – it doesn’t interfere with me.

I was so worried when I was so young, and now they can worry about me.

Those days are a bad dream that has nothing to do with me now.

So many things kept me up nights back then; I don’t know them now.

.. ….. …     ..

Tarot Readings: Keeping My Distance from Angst (Nine of Swords and World)

Kids are an aggravation, and she isn’t having any of that.

Very private about grieving past love.

I dance to a different drummer when my childish fears come around.

My personal life is cozy no matter what grief is going on outside it.

She has nothing to worry about in her past – a clean record.

I keep my distance from people I’d be afraid to trust.

She acts like she doesn’t know me at home, and that gets on my last nerve.

Romance isn’t worth stewing over.

Naivete shields her from being afraid of the monsters.

.. …..      …..

Tarot Readings: The Bubble of Love at Home (Six of Cups and World)

Nothing to worry about in our home life.

Up late nights in this romance with a shapely woman.

Nothing perturbs me because he does romantic things for me when I’m upset.

We are loving at home to shut out the cares of the outside world.

I so worry about my children being safe from whatever’s out there.

Grieving the one I love who is now safe from all harm.

LEARN TAROT BY OBSERVING

.. …….…… …..

Nine of Swords is when things get to you, and you are upset. Nine of Swords is a lot of emotion. Six of Cups is when you have got things cozy and are feeling trust and love. Six of Cups is a lot of emotion. So we have a lot of bad emotion and a lot of good emotion. And who else is around here? – well, World, who has sorted it all out and is detached and unmoved by such environmental factors.

Nine of Swords represents the very things World is immune to, that World’s personality has repelled – the things that aren’t in World’s environment. Taken together, Nine of Swords and World give obvious advice to clear your environment or shut out some influences. They also can be a before-and-after shot, hopefully with World being the ‘after’ part. World is you having processed whatever grief or aggravation Nine of Swords dealt you.

Six of Cups and World are both safe from harm. Six of Cups is safe from harm via being a child, or a safe neighborhood, or trust. World is safe from harm via being so spiritually astute and empowered that harm avoids him, her or it. World is the kind of person who is invisible to troublemakers, a trait usually hardwon by life experience. (So you have safety at both extremes of the scale.)

Nine of Swords           Party-pooper extraordinaire Nine of Swords just blew in the door to skew our lovely scene. Well, it’s now about carrying on a good life in spite of stress, grief, aggravation, worry and lack of sleep. But we are still carrying on.

Being up nights: That’s the highest and best use of Nine of Swords. It’s downhill from there. Having a headache, having a bad dream, that’s the next best application of Nine of Swords. From there, you go to stress, angst, trouble, fear, anxiety, heartache, panic attacks. Today in this spread, World is warding off Nine of Swords.

Six of Cups           Little well-dressed boy is giving little well-dressed girl a pot of flowers outside a large dwelling. This illustration’s parts flex to quite a few large trunks of meaning. Some of Six of Cups’ meanings are children, trust, romance, a loving home life, safety, to give or receive, favors and gifts, the good life, memories and nostalgia, and the good old days. (If you want a more comprehensive report on Six of Cups’ meanings, Google’ Six of Cups Tarot Verbatim’ and you will have your fill.

Today Six of Cups produces these words and phrases: a thing of the past; warm-fuzzies; childhood; comfortable; was so young, those days; back then; kids; past love; childish; personal life is cozy; in (her) past; people I trust; at home; romance; naivete; home life; romance; does romantic things for me; we are loving at home; the one I love.

World           World is one of those cards you had best know the background of to make full use of it. It’s about being the kind that nothing bad happens to, just by being who you are: those people who seem to come up smelling like a rose no matter what they get into. Teflon, we say. Being the kind of kid that people blame the other kids for your mischief (no matter your age, by the way). World repels influences, and is invisible to bad influences. These influences can be nonphysical entities.

Background, yes. This is an esoteric based card. Master of Both Worlds in Eso-land, is a magician proficient in both the black and the white side, which is being the most powerful. So World has two wands and a barrier represented by the wreath. Esoterica considers a superior human both genders, so World’s scarf conceals the crotch. I think the fact she’s dancing indicates – like the snail in Nine of Pentacles – that she can do what she pleases unconstrained.

The esoteric entities outside her wreath are not looking her way because, being able to handle any sort of intrusion with her skill level, they just don’t notice – like the way a mugger doesn’t pay attention to someone who is an expert fighter, just by instinct. You see these same critters in Wheel of Fortune.

World is a very flexible card. We use a tiny sliver of its repertoire today. It can, for instance, represent a sea wall or revetment because the wreath is a barrier. It can be any sort of filter or seal in mechanical questions. It can represent, say, body armor or anything impenetrable. You get the idea.

Here’s the sliver of things World brings us today: shield of detachment; be indifferent; cannot be bothered; doesn’t interfere with me; now they can worry about me; has nothing to do with me now; I don’t know them now; she isn’t having any of that; very private; dance to a different drummer; no matter what is going on outside;she has nothing to worry about; I keep my distance; acts like she doesn’t know me; shields her from the monsters; nothing to worry about; shapely woman; nothing perturbs me; shut out the outside world; being safe from whatever’s out there; safe from all harm.

You can train yourself if you choose to live detached from ups and downs of your day. You can buffer yourself from the sweet nothings that may turn to sleepless nights. You can take the whole cosmos with a grain of psychic salt and be unperturbed – permanently, even. Great saints and psychopaths do that all the time. Why not you, if you choose?

Reread the Tarot spread now that I am knee-deep in work with my male friend and the below paragraph also relates to my current situation with my hopefully ‘warm puppy’. I have to learn not to get emotional, especially excited emotion, with my friend and anything he may or may not do today or even this week. A new motto I need to use is “Except nothing and accept it”. Basically, don’t let my feathers ruffle, positively or negatively, with him.

    • A shortcut to developing that kind of detachment: Instead of expecting reality to make sense, you view it as a comedy play. Everything is funny, or leads to some hoot. Life is a hoot.

  2. Lori

    Romance isn’t worth stewing over.

If I could just somehow remember this, life would be much simpler.

    • Lori

As predicted, my guy completely blew off my birthday.

      • It would make a nice fine-print tattoo: Left inner wrist. Yeah. For all us cows.

Got an idea. Send him a fancy ‘Thank You’ note for ‘Forgetting My Birthday.’

If he asks why, tell him it was sweet of him to demonstrate his character to you, now you are forewarned.

  3. Jennifer

This one hits home for me today. Great details Emily!

    • Thanks for that, Girl. This is the part I related to:

Be as indifferent to the anxiety as to the warm-fuzzies.

  4. Tina

These phrases are me today or at least this long 4 day weekend. Some soul-searching and having my grieving at the forefront due to the abundant aloneness I am enduring at this time.

Very private about grieving past love.
My personal life is cozy no matter what grief is going on outside it.
She has nothing to worry about in her past – a clean record.
Nothing to worry about in our home life.
Grieving the one I love who is now safe from all harm.

    • Sundays feature grief more often than other days, perhaps because we spend personal time together on Sundays more.
When another loss happens – like when your flame dished on you, or when the same people who killed my husband burned my house down three years ago – grief is reinforced. It’s just the nature of the beast.

  5. Seeing as how I turned the weekend into three days, I have gone ahead and put up Monday’s, since, just maybe, it is part of the displaced weekend.

This one deserves more attention than one day anyway.
