Tarot Readings for You for January 19, 2016 Tuesday©

Jan 18, 2016 by

GUIDANCE     Our sense of fairness follows us every place we go and inserts itself into the darnedest things – not that we take it seriously most of the time. We don’t take it too seriously because, well, we don’t expect ‘the world to be a fair place’ – not even a safe place really. Hazards are the norm and we are normal. Today we visit a few scenes of being shortchanged, not getting our respect or attention, and not getting paid, and not paying … yeah, those types of things. Our point is: It’s nothing serious.

.

Six of Pentacles – Four of Cups – Chariot

LEARN TAROT BY OBSERVING

                  LEARN TAROT BY PICTURES..

.. ….. …..

Our hero (Chariot) does not get (Four of Cups) his reward (Six of Pentacles). And we won’t (Four of Cups) pay that much (Six of Pentacles) for that car (Chariot). I’m the leader here (Chariot) and I don’t get (Four of Cups) the respect that’s due me (Six of Pentacles). With him managing this place (Chariot), there’s not going to be any (Four of Cups) fairness (Six of Pentacles). Remember that Four of Cups and Six of Pentacles say ‘Pay no attention’ or ‘not getting attention’ as well as ‘Get no respect’ or ‘Have no respect for.’ The action goes both ways in both of these Tarot cards. Six of Pentacles means to give, or to receive, the attention or respect; Four of Cups means to refuse, or to be refused, the attention.

Four of Cups and Chariot is deciding (Chariot) not to (Four of Cups). They are also having no (Four of Cups) control over (Chariot), or even not having self-control.

Six of Pentacles and Chariot is a responsible (Chariot) bill payer (Six of Pentacles), and is also taking responsibility for the bills. (But we have Four of Cups to put the negative to those.)

Six of Pentacles        You see an employer weighing the gold in the money he pays the help, which is being very fair. This fair exchange is Six of Pentacles’ core meaning. In application, the exchange commonly applies not just to money and paying or receiving pay, but to giving or receiving attention, respect, and whatever is deserved. That can include payback or getting even.

Not today, but Six of Pentacles also applies to spreading germs, and to receiving medical (or other) treatment.

Four of Cups        You see a fellow who is not going to give in about refusing. Four of Cups is an emphatic negator (negative modifier), one that applies broadly. It can be not giving in to temptation. It mainly, as you can see from the posture – head down, arms and even legs crossed – as yet another offer presents itself. Today Four of Cups is part of ‘pay no’ and ‘get no’ because of Six of Pentacles.

Four of Cups translates contractions – a lot. Can’t, won’t, don’t. It says things like: no way; not having any of that; not going to, as well as plain old ‘no.’

Chariot       Chariot’s illustration doesn’t tell you much beyond the concept of being the driver. There’s a lot to Chariot, and seldom do you use much of its full spectrum in a spread. It can apply to anything about any vehicle. It broadly applies to taking charge, to responsibility, to being in charge, to getting a project done, and to being, of course, the one who is responsible to get the project done.

Chariot is winning and achievement. Here’s how: Chariots were the tanks, the ultimate weapon, of their day. Charioteers were war heroes, commanding officers. Chariot means ‘plan’ and ‘the man with the plan’ because the formations these charioteers made, the strategies they employed, largely determined which side won the conflict. Yes, Chariot means strategy too.

A meaning unique to this one card is using factors that are against success to succeed, which involves analysis of a situation and nerve and daring to wade in and get ‘er done. Yes, Chariot can be ruthless and cunning. Here’s how Chariot means using factors that would defeat you to succeed against the odds instead: Sphinxes pull this chariot. They are magic creatures with a mind of their own: They travel only in one direction, a turn to the right or a turn to the left. Our hero hitches them so they bump against one another and go forward. (He directs the path of these unwilling creatures with his magic wand. Chariot is one of the paranormal cards.)

We don’t really expect a reward commensurate with what we do – not in every way and not every time. You win some, you lose some – we all get that. But we gotta win the ones that are important to us, even the petty ones that are important to us. For some people, splitting a restaurant bill has to be to the small coin, or they are short. That same person is working for ten dollars less an hour than she or he is worth, and shrugs that off. Attitudes about getting, or not getting – and giving or not giving – what is fair: This is our rumination for today.

Funny. Today I decide about a car purchase, and am working up the best deal I can.

So there’s chariot and getting it done. Have thought about how car dealerships always seem to be one step ahead in the game, feeling a sense of unfairness about that. Internet research has leveled the playing field some what. The spread and comments remind me that I have done my homework and not to take it too seriously anyway.

    • That’s a direct hit. Yes. I went online to check out some things you said, and got a raft of spam in my Gmail inbox. Hmm. Your deal, based on my sample, doesn’t seem to be so great. This year was a banner year for vehicle purchases, so the Dealers are probably being arrogant.

Although I am reading this on Monday, it seems like the theme for Tuesday would be ‘Que sara sara”. Go with the flow and that’s about it.

    • ‘The point is: It’s not that important. Don’t sweat the small stuff, and that’s all it ever is. You’re so right.
