GET A SINGLE CARD’S MEANINGS: TYPE ITS NAME AND ‘TAROT VERBATIM’ INTO GOOGLE

Queen of Swords Queen of Swords has a spectrum of personalities to represent. You know how people call a strong woman a bitch? She covers both those waterfronts. The young child carved into her throne indicates she is the mother of a dead child; she can be a widow too. Here’s that mother-in-law as well, or ex-wife. Watch for this: Queen of Swords is reliably the ‘Bitch’ card!

.

This is also the card for a victim, or one who has a complaint … or a complainant/plaintiff in court. She is the strong Type A woman and the militant woman or stern woman. She is the older or old woman, the ex-wife or dominant mama of an adult. She is also the whiner and the nag and the ‘backseat driver’ – dissatisfied and disgruntled, often with good reason, sometimes as a martyr type. Queen of Swords is the way a woman feels when she is (finally) breaking up with a lover.

.

Queen of Swords has a more general application about not getting what you want, about things not being up to your standards – particularly a man who is not up to his woman’s standards. (The woman can be on the warpath about this.) Queen of Swords often is the card for high standards generally – like today, the idea that if you want it done to those standards of yours, do it yourself.

.

Queen of Swords is also the female equivalent of King of Wands, the angry irritated frustrated uninhibited impulsive passionate man. She is angry. She is annoyed.

Chariot It’s not horses, it’s sphinxes, and they are not hitched to his chariot: His single wand controls these mythical magical not-nice creatures. Sphinxes go either left or right and no other way. The left-moving sphinx is to the right, and the right-moving one is to the left. They end up bumping into each other and going forward, or where he wants them to: The Strategist.

.

This going forward can translate ‘getting ahead.’ Chariot’s control of the sphinxes is how this Tarot card comes to mean ‘success,’ ‘achieve,’ or ‘achievement,’ and ‘masterful.’ Chariot belongs to the ‘handling it’ Tarot tribe, as does Strength.

.

Chariot owns ‘choose’ and ‘decide’ and decision-maker.’

.

Chariot also is the strategist, the project manager, the one in charge, and is responsible. The ‘in charge’ isn’t a desk job: Chariot is the hands-on field manager who does, who accomplishes. He gets his hands dirty maybe. Not to mention also – the hero, the champion, the winner, and the one who completed ‘on time and under budget.’

.

Chariot sometimes stands for the project rather than the person who is acting on it. It can mean ‘the challenge,’ and when it does it’s a big challenge.

.

Chariot is also ambition, as Knight of Pentacles is. Chariot will get the job done at all costs by any means (fair or foul). He can be ruthless. Charioteers were the special forces of their day: That is what holds Chariot’s meanings together.

.

Lastly, a chariot is a vehicle, so this is the one and only card that means a car, truck, airplane … any kind of vehicle.

Knight of PentaclesHere’s this stout knight on a dark sturdy mule or horse staring intently at that pentacle. This focus is a lot of Knight of Pentacles’ meanings. He is about priority, one thing on his mind, obsession, must, ambition, and being the tough Type A go-getter guy. He is a strong man, a militant, and he is the one who (whatever). He isn’t a success yet, but he aims to be.

.

Physically, this Knight of Pentacles card often indicates a man has muscles. Muscles and willpower. Knight of Pentacles can be low-class, can be a thug or punk. The ‘focus’ can be ‘ruthless.’

.

Knight of Pentacles is a card-carrying member of the ‘know/see/understand theme club in Tarot. This Tarot card translates ‘one thing is for sure’ as Two of Wands can.

.

LEARN TAROT BY OBSERVING

                           LEARN TAROT BY PICTURES..

.. ….. …     ..

.

It’s time to talk about Chariot and Knight of Pentacles at length. Chariot and Knight of Pentacles are men so similar that in two different sentences (Celtic Cross, say) they can represent the same man. Knight of Pentacles aims to get what he has in mind done at all costs, and Chariot is accomplishing his mission by any and all means, using factors that are against it to further it. I can see Knight of Pentacles as being Chariot when Chariot was younger. These are ambitious, focused men with willpower and drive – Type A to the bone.

.

Knight of Pentacles is staring away from you at his big interest there, that pentacle. Chariot is looking ahead at the scene, facing you, checking you out, taking it all in. Charioteers were the strategists in the wars of their day and they worked as a group – intense teamwork involving executive skills.

.

Knight of Pentacles tends to be self-interested, ambitious to accomplish something of his own – driven, determined and focused on that main interest or obsession. He is macho-man often, a tough guy, a very strong physical sort. Chariot is the senior ranking fellow of some group enterprise, focused on the success of the project he is responsible for.

.

Knight of Pentacles is getting ahead; Chariot is already there, in charge, and making decisions for the crew. Knight of Pentacles is giving it his best shot as a physically strong man; Chariot is all about strategy and using whatever is in the way to the advantage of the project. Knight of Pentacles, you could say, is a peasant, and Chariot is a prince. Chariot is the brains; Knight of Pentacles is the brawn.

.

So now you know the similarities and differences between Chariot and Knight of Pentacles.

.

But most of that doesn’t apply to today’s stories. Today they appear with Queen of Swords, the strong woman, stern woman, the militant woman or bitch, the woman who is not getting a fair shake, who is dissatisfied, irritated, annoyed, angry and/or victimized. So we have three strong people here. In a spread, they could read that and only that: ‘three strong people.’

.

Queen of Swords is one of those cards that tends to take over. Her meanings are what the nearly-identical two other cards relate to. (And by the way, that’s what often happens when you have two very similar cards in a three-card layout: The odd card’s meaning is the focus of the other two.) So we have Queen of Swords as the backseat driver with Chariot as the car. Or we have Queen of Swords doing without a car and feeling put-upon. We have Queen of Swords hating her car. Or we have her nagging the man to succeed. We have her as the complaint Chariot is handling (because Chariot means ‘to take charge, to handle a situation and get it under control.’

.

We apply the general (non-people) meanings to Queen of Swords, so that her high standards are a reason to do the task herself, or so that she isn’t as successful as she wants to be – because Queen of Swords isn’t getting her fair share.

. …..       .

.

.

How often what motivates me is a perceived lack of something. I put my shoulder to the wheel because I want my cart to get ahead. At some point I am dissatisfied or annoyed enough to to put ‘doing something about it’ first. Or I feel I am not-enough this or too-much that and aim to get myself where I feel I ought to be because it is myself I am disgruntled with.  Today we celebrate that kind of ambition to change things.

  1. Crystal

Emily I am fascinated with your work. You remind of the Oracle from the Matrix movie, but with the sarcastic humor added. That makes your readings all the more engaging.Reference

  2. I apologize. Doing half as much in twice as long because the Dell computer is on its way to its maker in a box. Grandma computer is the third tier – the laptop was cyber-raped with Windows 10 and is still in a deep coma after 36 hours of tech work. So Grandma doesn’t have the proper template, and not all the reference material, that Dell has. Grandma keeps trucking in spite of her debility: Gotta love that.

Wish I had bought 10 refurbished Dell old computers instead of one new one for the same price! I would have one that worked, ya know?

ANYWAY, FOR AT LEAST TWO WEEKS I WILL BE PUTTING UP ONLY ONE POST FOR TWO DAYS. SO WHAT THEY SAY WILL APPLY TO A LONGER TIME. And some of those may be late, as this one is.

Am saving my pennies to buy a Mac and not look back!

    P.S. This spread is interesting.
