GUIDANCE           Don’t tell it like it is, and don’t talk to the police about it: Some things, you don’t talk about. Some laws are not public, so don’t be surprised by a statute that says you are not entitled and that’s not going to change. And don’t be so straight you cannot change, either.

.

.

Are YOU here for the first time? Come in!

People love this place! Our site is divided into three sections: Guidance; Group Tarot Cards Readings; Learn Tarot by Observing and Learn Tarot by Pictures.

So what do you want to do? –

Did you come here for YOUR PREDICTIONS? daily trends? –

.

Judgment Judgment is one of those cards whose illustration in Rider Waite admits of many meanings, including some spiritual and philosophical ones. But Judgment today is constrained. Its neighbors clip its winds and limit it to everyday life, and to generalities.

.

The angel’s horn has an announcement to make, has something to say that changes things instantly and drastically, and creates a new phase: a return to life. Note that the change is for the better. Words that belong to this new phase today are: going back to, start over, the first time, this time, the afterlife, the new ‘me,’ a whole new life, a promotion, and change.

.

So Judgment belongs to the well-populated Tarot family of speak/tell/say. Today those are its main translates: saying, says, call, telling it, told, something tells me, tells you, say that, holler about it. Also words that suggest the big announcement he makes with his alarm: the big news, publicized, notice.

.

Judgment also belongs to the ‘suddenly’ and ‘instantly’ Tarot tribe. Judgment also is the card for loud noises and alarms. It also belongs to all those cards that translate ‘again.’

Two of Swords Two of Swords has one simple job: To say ‘no’ and ‘not’ and ‘don’t’ and ‘don’t be’ and other frank negatives like those. She knows a few other words and phrases, not many – words like ‘cease-and-desist‘ and ‘neverand ‘no way’ and ‘stop’ and ‘put an end to it‘ and even ‘that’s THAT.’ This card cancels the meaning of a nearby card by adding a negative word, which is what a negator card is and does. (And watch for it to cancel more than one card, to make the opposite meaning usually.

.

A glance tells you this is a negator card. The lady in the illustration wears a night dress or slip, is blindfolded, sits in the dead of night on a stone bench holding long double-edged swords in her crossed arms. Putting one down would unbalance the other, if she is strong enough to put one down, so she would likely cut herself. This suggests a counterbalance, and also a standoff or stalemate, which Two of Swords does sometimes express.

Justice You know many of its meanings just looking at it, and these are the anchor cards: You read them first, to tell you the lay of the land in your spreads. You see anything to do with law and courts and law enforcement (the sword combined with the scales). The usual words and phrases from this part of Justice today are: police, judge, lawyer, the law, lawyer, statue, legal, as well as entitled, and deserve.

.

Justice belongs to the Tarot tribe of ‘right.’ The words and phrases we use from this aspect of Justice are these: right, correct, the right way, you were right, straight and go straight, rights, and fair. Today we use ‘belong’ in the sense of what fits..

.

Right also implies: normal sane, sober, it’s okay, good reason, sound mind and sanity.

.

Less obvious is the ‘should’ of Justice. ‘Ought’ too of course. Here is what ‘should’ has to say today: how it should be, should be, should have, you should.

.

.

.

LEARN TAROT BY OBSERVING

                  LEARN TAROT BY PICTURES..

.. ….. ….

.

An interesting thing is happening here which can apply to many three-card spreads in which two mean the same thing and the other is a major negator like Two of Swords is. Both Judgment and Justice (obviously) are legal cards, and have overlapping meanings. Of course, each has meanings of its own the other does not share. But with Two of Swords’ influence, the justice theme is diminished (not extinguished).

.

Judgment is a speak/tell/say Tarot tribal member, and the combination of Justice and Two of Swords says all kinds and varieties of ‘That’s not right’ or ‘ should not.’ So we have several sentences that are variations of ‘ Not okay to say that.’

.

We also have some contradictory interpretations for this trio: ‘It’s okay not to say that’ and ‘ Not okay to say that.’ Be prepared for your negator card to be able to modify either of the other two cards in a three-card spread … or even to modify both of them! In our current example, both Judgment and Justice being modified by Two of Swords would say ‘ Not saying that is not okay,’ but that feels foreign – isn’t the way Tarot usually expresses itself. An example of a normal-sounding one is ‘It’s not right, but don’t tell.’ The question, subject, story line, and previous spreads in a session usually apply the correct choice for interpreting at these times. Want another example? – ‘ not going back to sobriety’ and ‘ Quit and be sober again.’ Judgment means both ‘ going back to’ because the dead are back to life, and ‘ again’ because they are alive again. Ya gotta live with these anomalies.

.

Note that Two of Swords can change an ‘is’ in your interpretation to ‘ isn’t.’ In that case Two of Swords just says ‘ n’t.’ You feel silly, like that can’t be true.

.

You put the few and emphatic meanings of Two of Swords on the table, and you go to the box where you keep the other-than-legal meanings of the other two, and you mix and match. That’s easy. I discarded a dozen or more sentences and still had 30 – more than usual.

.

Tarot Readings for You for February 15-16, 2018 Thursday-Friday©

GUIDANCE        If I know what I’m doing, I do it even in a hurry. If I don’t know how to do it, I watch someone who does, and then I do things for myself. When I have a lot to do, I know to write myself notes and make lists. There are things people do when they are older, like writing the story of all the things they did that are fit to print. A human worth his salt is on the path of getting things done, methinks.

.

Hermit A kind friend who knows comes to help you: That sentences uses five of Hermit’s meanings, and Hermit tends to double up on its meanings this way, partly because Hermit means so many common things. Hermit also tends to pair up with other cards to make common phrases. Using Magician’s wide ‘do’ category, Hermit knows how to do, helps get it done, comes to do, shows how to do, is a friend who does, things an old person does, watch what you are doing, and knows what he is doing – and that’s just a few examples.

.

Pair Hermit with Eight of Wands in its various meanings, and you find: knows everything; tells or teaches what he knows; an honest talk; always watching, or always the observer; examines documents; sobers up quickly; is always the one to come to (you); tells (you) he is coming to see (you). And that’s not all, of course. Just enough to give you the idea to scope out when you see Hermit in your spread. Today we use ten of his categories of meanings.

.

Tarot Verbatim™ as you know uses details of the Rider Waite illustrations, and makes sentences from what the illustrations have in common. Hermit has a lot of elements in its illustration. You see a kind old virtuous man, a monk, out at night with a light in the snow in the mountains, searching for people who could use a meal, some wise conversation, and a warm bed in the hermitage. He comes to them to help as a friend. So all these words are key ones for Hermit.

.

His searching expands to all sorts of things, including: looking at, examining, observing, seeing things as they are, inspection, watching, surveillance, investigating. It also refers to ‘seeking’ or being a seeker, and to being on the Path (or out on a road, too).

.

His being the monk, and therefore virtuous, expands to: honest, sincere, celibate or monogamous or ‘true,’ sober, devoted, kind – and even truth. Naturally this is a card for a religious, or a religious person.

.

Hermit helps. This card is about helping a friend, or being helped by one, or being a friend – often a kind friend. Hermit is out searching for people to help so ‘he comes to help’ is one of his themes. He comes to you – indicating, yes, you are, or will be, contacted by the other person.

.

Hermit is a wise old man. So ‘wise’ and ‘old’ belong to this Tarot card. Watch for phrases like these: now that I am older; this old man; when you’re old, or older; when I’m old. ‘Wise’ includes ‘know’ of course, and that is a more common word, so you see Hermit translating: knows all about, you know, with the help of someone who knows, etc.

Magician The focus in Magician is very simple, and it derives from the number 1 being ‘the male principle,’ an occult concept. So as number one, Magician is male, is active on the physical plane, and creates or initiates. The bulk of his translates are forms of the verbs ‘do’ and ‘make.’ Especially ‘do.’ Magician performs action, so he comes up as: initiate, initiative, start, create, volunteer.

.

The other category (besides ‘do’ and ‘make’) that Magician normally translates as is ‘male,’ which includes ‘man’ of course, and also male pronouns.

.

Because Magician means action generally, this card can get absorbed into the action of another card’s verb, and end up just owning the pronoun. Another thing to watch for with Magician is its representing a noun clause about something having been done. Examples would be ‘what was done’ or ‘what he did’ (or any other pronoun there).

.

Look for phrases about being the one who did, or does too. Today, we have ‘a man who’ for Magician.

Eight of Wands Think communication, speed, and plurals, and you pretty much cover Eight of Wands. Communication can be written or verbal (or any other form, really). Eight of Wands belongs to what I call the speak/tell/say Tarot tribe: Today it translates: talk with; what I said; tell them; he tells you; what he says, and some more ‘tell’ words. And today, for the written for of communication, Eight of Wands translates: that list; the documents; you write about.

.

Eight of Wands also represents a plurality – numbers of things, or increasing numbers. Phrases like: a lot more, some things, all sorts of things, a lot, more, and ‘all.’ Eight of Wands also translates ‘everybody.’

.

Eight of Wands, like Eight of Pentacles, is also about repeated action, with phrases like: over and over, every time, and always. (‘Always,’ in Tarot Verbatim™ is a word quite a few cards can appear for.)

.

The other major category of Eight of Wands’ meanings is about speed: in a hurry, quickly, fast and faster.

.

Tarot Readings for You for February 14, 2018 Wednesday©

Feb 13, 2018 by

Well, our lady of last Wednesday has a new focus, and it’s on herself and her own path. This reading is an example of how Tarot is capable of repeating themes for emphasis. The repeats indicate accuracy, indicate something that is very likely to happen. Remember that when you do your own readings.  (We end up with a Valentine’s Day thought in her reading too.)

The Email Reading tab up there is your invitation to ask a question and get an analysis like this one of whatever scene you want to peek into. The ‘Get Them Now’ bar to the right is your invitation to check out how you too can do readings like this one using the Tarot Verbatim™ method, which works, and works for everyone, and blends with however you are doing your Tarot currently. (You already know you can access this site’s massive archives by typing in any pair of Tarot cards.)

.

NEWS: The team is closing in on the new $6.75 product that allows you, when you are doing your own Tarot, to type in the topic and the three cards and get (usually within 24 hours) Emily’s interpretation. Everyone I have told about this wants to know when it will be live. You, too?

.

Emily

.

New question: What can I do to find happiness and peace in my life?
Feel free to use both of my readings if you’d like! (Please keep me anonymous.) Thank you 🙂

Tarot Readings for You for February 12-13, 2018 Monday-Tuesday©

GUIDANCE             What to do, we ponder, when something appears or disappears. Uh, we also ponder ‘What have I done?’ to make some shift occur. There are also times when we inquire of ourselves whether it’s time for us to leave, or why someone else isn’t around anymore. Nothing makes us think like a change unexplained!

*Then you read the summary above, titled GUIDANCE,

*Then you read the one-sentence readings below titled GROUP TAROT CARDS READINGand you’re done: See you tomorrow. Invite your friends. At the very bottom are comments. New! – the black boxes to the right as you scroll down allow you to comment right there.

GROUP TAROT CARDS READING is the actual word-for-word messages from the pictures of the three cards you see – to everyone. These readings are about you and the people around you.  They are about today and the days around it. So, go ahead and pick the sentences you feel are yours and decide whether to encourage or reject them for yourself. All the words of each Tarot card reading you see here are a phrase-by-phrase translation of the scene pictured on those cards: no filler, no psychic impressions, no spirit guide. Word-for-word Tarot Verbatim™.

HERMIT EIGHT OF PENTACLES

Ask him to leave.

What am I doing … let me think.

Maybe make some changes here.

Consider making a drastic change.

What can I do to get him to leave?

He had no idea he was going to quit.

Wondering what he can do to get out of it.

Wish I knew what I did that made him leave.

When I don’t know what I’m doing, I don’t do it.

HERMIT THREE OF CUPS

He quit overthinking.

Just make a break for it, won’t you?

If you think about it, you won’t do it.

He quits before he starts, doesn’t he?

He pulled off a disappearing act, it seems.

Got myself off course before I even knew it.

Not one time has he made the first move; has he?

I avoid doing anything I can’t make up my mind about.

EIGHT OF PENTACLES THREE OF CUPS

Quit thinking about it and do it.

I think a detour is what to do here.

Maybe I won’t finish what I’m doing.

Maybe he won’t finish what he starts.

If only I could instantly change myself.

Quit wondering why and do something.

It seems it ends at the beginning here.

Wonder how I can avoid acting like this.

No more uncertainty about how it’s done.

Let’s figure out how to quit doing something.

Now, Part Two,

Did you come here to ACCESS YOUR SUBCONSCIOUS? –

Did you come here to RESEARCH CARD MEANINGS? –

*Then you go to LEARN TAROT BY OBSERVING and LEARN TAROT BY PICTURES for single card meanings and for what those cards say today as they get along with their companion cards, which is important for Tarot Verbatim™, whose expertise is combinations of Tarot cards’ meanings.

*Then you go to Now we show where each of the phrases in each of the sentences comes from: for phrases individual cards make in the day’s sentences. This applies the knowledge.

*Then you read HERE ARE PHRASES FOR ALL THREE 2-CARD COMBINATIONS – resonates with your subconscious awareness! for language created by each pair of Rider Waite Tarot cards, in Tarot Verbatim™. Now you are done, if you chose to do it all. Comments are at the very bottom.

.

Magician We just happen to be neatly using Magician’s full spectrum of words and phrases here. This spread is a study of Magician’s vocabulary. Think a shorthand ‘He does/acts/starts/makes’ and you can remember Magician’s headlines. Except Magician embraces a few pronouns besides ‘he’ – his most common one. I, myself, him, himself, and the ‘do it yourself’ category. If your sentence is in passive voice, in which the action ‘was done to,’ then any pronoun is common but would not be directly attributed to Magician. Another aspect of Magician’s general ‘do’ meaning is that he can translate forms of ‘what was done’ or ‘what I/he did.’ Those are noun clauses in sentence structure.

.

Be aware that since Magician is all about the doing of something, he can get lost in the action of another verb from another card, and just end up being a pronoun. Not to worry – Magician doesn’t mind. You can see instances of Magician blending with the action of another card here, where I have underlined, indicating two cards sharing.

.

Magician refers to creation and creating, esoterically speaking. Fool, Magician, High Priestess, Empress, and Emperor refer to the stages of something coming into being, then being active, then passing into being established, in the physical realm. An idea is, like a blueprint, made into something concrete and stays that way – for example. Once it’s perfected, it stagnates – no more change. Details of this process are explained in full in Tarot Email Training that relates to those cards.

.

Now for the picture. Magician is male, and is 1 (the first). Esoterically, 1 is a start, and male is the active principle (activity, doing, initiating), female is the receptive principle (thinking, knowing). One hand reaches upward, with the wand in it, to bring down (to channel) nonphysical influence, through himself, the operator. The other hand points downward to ground the flow. The sideways 8 over his head is the eternity sign (lemniscate) which of course is a flow. On the table are the suits of Tarot (sword, cup, pentacle – the wand is in his hand). One of Magician’s meanings is willpower, and magicians’ definition of magic is ‘willpower.’

Seven of PentaclesSeven of Pentacles is one of the very easy cards to apply, so it is an anchor card (one that you look at first because it is more reliable). What you see here is a fellow who planted a cucumber vine. He won’t know whether it will grow him cucumbers until it does or does not bloom (Blooms make fruit.) because it’s a gendered plant and he doesn’t know whether a plant of the opposite gender is close by enough for bees to pollinate his. Seven of Pentacles especially describes those moments when you have done the work and don’t yet know whether you get the reward.

.

Wonder. Ponder. Consider. Uncertainty. Seems. If, iffy. Seven of Pentacles owns just about any expression of not knowing, and any of the phrases that create the question form of your sentence (like these: won’t you, doesn’t he, has he, if only, what can I). Seven of Pentacles says ‘maybe’ very often. Look for phrases with ‘think’ or ‘know’ in them that are negatively modified. Here are some examples of that: wish I knew, when I don’t know, overthinking, if you think about it, before I even knew, can’t make up my mind, thinking about it, I think, had no idea, figure out how to.

.

I think of Seven of Pentacles and Page of Cups as ‘duh’ cards – cards that express situations where you might say ‘Duh.’ or might attribute that to another person. And both of these can put your spread’s sentence into question form. (Note that Page of Cups as the first Self card in a Celtic Cross spread can indicate that the question is somehow defective – that it doesn’t make sense, or is somehow not capable of a direct answer.

Eight of Cups Eight of Cups is one of the Tarot cards that you have to know the story to skilfully apply. A hint is in the two moon phases glued together up there, suggesting end and beginning. The story is that this pilgrim (Pilgrims wore red as a badge back then.) is going out of his way, detouring, because the mountain is in the way. He will resume his journey: That assumption is built into the full and proper meaning of the card, not that it always applies.

.

This story is loosely applied, in real-life Tarot practice. Watch for Eight of Cups to translate ‘not … anymore’ fairly often, with the meaning of another card where the ellipses is. (If you are researching Eight of Cups for its full spectrum, Google ‘Eight of Cups Tarot Verbatim’ for all the things it has said in all the contexts it has appeared on our site.)

.

Eight of Cups most often means ‘leave’ or ‘quit,’ in any of their forms. It often means ‘avoid.’ It often translates ‘change’ or words that, in that sentence’s context, mean ‘change.’

.

Since the pilgrim’s course is disrupted, interrupted, interfered with, dropped, or abruptly ended, any language that described a situation like that belongs to Eight of Cups. Especially ‘detour’ and ‘run off the road’ for the change of course. Eight of Cups also shows up for ‘avoid.’ Watch for it to ‘duck out’ once in a while.

.

In a similar way to Magician’s getting absorbed into the action of another card, Eight of Cups ends up sometimes translating as a negator even though it is not one all by itself. Today, for example, it translates ‘I don’t do it’ when the rest of the sentence lays the foundation of ‘When I don’t know what I’m doing.’ Eight of Cups refrains from finishing something, which is how it gets to say ‘avoid’ and some other of today’s phrases like: not one time has he; it ends here; no more.

.

Hermit – You put a story together about an elderly monk who is a doctor who goes out on mountain passes at night with a lamp to locate travelers, help them, and treat them to a warm bed and hot meal, and you have a lot of elements you can apply to your Tarot story. He is also a guide, and a wise counselor.

.

Let’s talk about the meanings he uses in today’s story, shall we? He is an old man, so ‘elderly’ belongs to Hermit. He is helping people. He is out looking, which covers ‘search’ and looking or watching, and which expands to ‘investigation’ and to objective and realistic perspectives.

.

He is on foot, which brings you ‘pedestrian’ at times, and which also expands to ‘comes to’ – being the person who comes to another person. It is night time and he has a light, which brings any night scene, the word ‘night,’ and its synonyms, and also phrases about a flashlight or other light. (For instance, Hermit with Chariot can be night driving.)

.

Hermit is a monk, so it can interpret as characteristics of a religious, including such virtues as: patient, calm, devoted, honest, values, and chastity (not being sexual) – which, these days, turns into being true to a lover, being straight, etc.

.

Hermit is also a friend, which grows naturally out of doing things for people – a helpful friend, a devoted friend. Today, Three of Cups are also friends, and have usurped that word from Hermit.

.

You know how people call someone who keeps to himself and minds his or her own business a hermit? Well, I can’t remember this card ever stepping up to that plate, but maybe you will live to see it? (There are several other cards that perfectly describe the mind-your-own-business homebody lifestyle, so Hermit doesn’t need that designation.)

Eight of Pentacles Here is a nice simple Tarot card about work and steadily doing something. The carpenter is busily making identical pentacles one after the other. That ‘one after another’ and that steady effort bring Eight of Pentacles words like ‘always,’ ‘frequently,’ ‘continue,’ and even ‘still’ – anything about consistent and persistent activity or traits.

.

Most of the time Eight of Pentacles is about work, workers, job, workplace, employment, labor, the doing of something, and the person (or persons) who do it. Eight of Pentacles is one of the ‘hands-on’ Tarot cards too.

Three of Cups Three of Cups overlaps Three of Pentacles’ meanings, several of them – especially in the way both these Tarot cards apply to sharing in both business and social relationships. Three of Pentacles emphasizes each party participating fairly according to agreement, and Three of Cups emphasizes social sharing, enjoying life, and celebrating.

.

Note that both Three of Cups and Three of Pentacles can involve profit and profitability.

.

Three of Cups and Three of Pentacles are people (especially three people) getting together for a mutual purpose. Three of Cups is about people who have something in common, people who are likeminded – and especially young women who socialize, who are dating, who are girlfriends – of one another, or of a fellow. Camaraderie and celebration – upbeat feelings – are the tone of Three of Cups.

.

Three of Cups is about sharing life with a woman, or simply says ‘sharing his/her life’ in some context.

Hermit and Three of Cups are about friends who care for one another. Hermit is helpful and devoted, and is an old man who looks out for people. Three of Cups are young women who enjoy going out together, are part of the dating scene, and share a lot with one another. Friendly Hermit fits right into the camaraderie of the girls in Three of Cups.

.

Eight of Pentacles puts the story into the work scene, and also indicates this is what these people always – frequently and habitually – do. Eight of Pentacles makes the girls coworkers. They can work for the doctor, Hermit. Hermit can be the calm mellow old man who comes across the tony ladies on their girls’ nights out.

Tarot Readings for You for February 8-9, 2018 Thursday-Friday©

Feb 7, 2018 by

GUIDANCE      Of course some of my thoughts really belong to other people, people I met and socialized with, people I accomplished this or that with, people I partied with. Had I not met them, and met some others instead, well, I would have different thoughts from what I do now, and would feel differently from what I do now. But my thoughts and feelings are who I am. So I am made up of other people, there’s no way around it; I carry them around inside me.

.

Hanged Man In the company he finds himself in today, Hanged Man isn’t expressing his esoteric meanings very much, although he uses these words: psychic, vision, paranormal.

.

Thoughts and feelings are what he is mostly about today. He translates the usual: ideas, mind, understands, know, and remind. And he translates his common ‘feeling’ words: strong feeling, the way he feels about, turns on, intensely, inspires, ‘feeling in my bones – and even ‘ecstatically.’

.

Hanged Man’s main word usually is ‘realization’ or ‘realize.’ You see his head lit up there as he hangs upside-down from a branch. The illustration hearkens back to several myths in which the man gets his ‘wisdom,’ his paranormal powers and psychic insight, by sacrificing a body part or body function as he hangs on a tree for three days.

Three of Pentacles We see three people conducting a business meeting here. Three of Pentacles often appears when three people are involved in something, usually something they profit from. Three of Pentacles isn’t limited to commerce, though: People getting together – especially getting together to get something done – is the broad application of Three of Pentacles. It most often translates ‘relationship,’ and it very often translates ‘deal’ and forms of that word.

.

Three of Pentacles is about things mutual; each party is doing his or her part. Fairness too – a fair exchange, often phrased ‘fair and square.’

Three of Cups – Three of Cups is the other card that can involve three people getting something done together – and that could be business or pleasure. The story here also involves sharing: The three women contribute their money and their time and resources, raise a crop, sell it, and are celebrating their profit as good friends still. The celebration brings partying stories to Three of Cups, so this is the card for a toast, for getting together for drinks, for dating, for party girls or sociable women or debutantes. This is a card for fun too, which Sun can be as well.

.

Three of Cups emphasizes likeminded people, people who have something in common, who enjoy a time together. Today it reads ‘you are one of those people.’ Three of Cups is about joining in, and joining together.

.

.

.

LEARN TAROT BY OBSERVING

                    LEARN TAROT BY PICTURES..

.. ….. …     .

Three of Pentacles and Three of Cups are similar cards – a lot of overlap in their applications. They both mean getting together. These cards equally embrace both business and pleasure. They both involve profit, and business. They are both sharing, and joining in. They both can mean three people together. And they both are positive cards – meaning that if something unpleasant is underway, it takes another card to add that element to the story. Three of Pentacles has an element of fairness that Three of Cups does not contribute, and Three of Cups has an element of celebration that Three of Pentacles does not include.

.

While Three of Cups can be about dating, Three of Pentacles can be a meeting for romance.

.

Hanged Man must fit into the themes his companion cards establish here today. Hanged Man is feeling and thinking today. Ideas, what’s on his mind, ‘ I just know,’ understands. Strong feeling, intensely, inspires you, ecstatically, and ‘ turns me on.’

.

But even in his present company, Hanged Man does manage to say ‘ psychic,’ ‘ vision,’ and ‘ paranormal.’ Hanged Man really is all about awareness, ‘ getting it.’

.

We gravitate to people who are on the same page as us, who overall remind us of ourselves in mostly more than one way. So people get together in pods of commonality. Their ideas infect one another and spread to other pods through members who belong to both unions. Infectious ideas are the way cultures are formed as people’s minds rub up against one another this way. (Is that why so many wise people are hermits?)
