Tarot Readings for You for June 26-27, 2017 Monday-Tuesday©

Recovery from business reversals is the subject of this Querant’s email reading.  I have used the first-sentence Celtic Cross layout as the latter part of her answer.  Querant has given me permission to share her good news with you.

You can research meanings of any of these cards by putting one or two of them into Google.  You will get the archives of our site here when you do that.  You might want to add ‘Tarot Verbatim’ after single-card Google searches to limit them to this site, or you may prefer not to.

And you can buy an email reading like this for yourself using PayPal for less than twenty dollars.

Email Reading

The category of life is:: Financial

My question is:: Will we get back on top of everything have had a rough year people ripping us off and had to walk away from a lot of owed money which has really set us back feel like we are about to lose everything

That’s just a yes-or-no question, and the answer is a clear ‘yes.’ The question isn’t that useful to you, though, so I have tailored and amended it to: Beginning now and up to a year from now, how well will I get out of this financial stall, and give me an idea how to do it.

.

.

Three of Wands – Hermit – Knight of Pentacles

You focus on this one priority, and with a little help, you do see that money coming in.

You focus, first and foremost, on this one thing, – Knight of Pentacles

and with the assistance of a knowledgeable person who volunteers help – Hermit

you will see – (Both Hermit and Knight of Pentacles)

that income steadily flowing. – Three of Wands

[Three of Wands-Hermit says ‘financial counselor’ because Three of Wands is finances and Hermit is an adviser. They also say financial advice.]

.

.

Seven of Cups – Queen of Swords – Knight of Wands

Progress is accelerated because of all the bizarre things that got you to this state of deficit and lack.

You make fast progress – Knight of Wands

due to all the crazy off-the-wall things – Seven of Cups

that got you where you are: deprived and in need. – Queen of Swords

.

.

Temperance – Two of Swords – Two of Wands

Financial security will be yours because you ABSOLUTELY DO NOT have a partner in the deal(s).

Financial security will be yours – Two of Wands

because you absolutely do not – Two of Swords

have a partner to deal with. – Temperance

                                                         Six of Swords

                                                       Four of Cups

                                                       Three of Wands

.

Self

                                                     Future

                                                    Situation (cover)

Behind                      x                                           Ahead

                                                  Problem (cross)

                                                 Foundation

STAR as Self Card: Good news to you!

NINE OF PENTACLES as Situation Card: You are established on your own; you are doing well without anyone.

FOUR OF CUPS as Problem card: You don’t have to put up with another thing!

QUEEN OF WANDS as the Behind Card in what I call the Extended Present: Your house is in order, and you are in control of your personal and business affairs.

HIGH PRIESTESS as the Ahead Card of what I call the Extended Present: You are knowledgeable and you are established all by yourself, living in peace. (You are a data bank of knowledge now?)

THREE OF WANDS as Foundation Card: Here’s that income and other good things continuing to come in.

SIX OF SWORDS as Future Card: The bad times are over and you are headed to much better times.

[Note that you appear as three women-cards who are each independent, in control of their circumstances, and knowledgeable, all side-by-side touching one another: Queen of Wands, Nine of Pentacles, High Priestess. You also appear thrilled: Star, another woman-card.

The two other cards indicate ‘no more bad things’: Four of Cups and Six of Pentacles.]

GUIDANCE         Today it’s about that dog-Latin slogan we have all encountered, either “Illegitimi non carborundum” or “Noli illegitimi carborundum.” It means “Don’t let the bastards get you down” or “Don’t let the bastards grind you down.” Don’t let it get to you.  So don’t.

Five of Pentacles I’ve been down so long it looks up to me” is Five of Pentacles’ song. This is hitting bottom. This is Dark Night of the Soul. This is having the blood sucked out of you by an energy vampire. Mother is homeless on the street with a crippled child who has leprosy, and they have no clothes or shoes against the freezing snow. They have no one; they are alone and lonely; and Five of Pentacles translates as feeling hopeless and lonely. They pass by a church which back then would have meant food and a bed … except for the leprosy. (The bell around the child’s neck indicates the leprosy.) So on they trudge.

.

So Five of Pentacles is lack, is doing without, is not having a house, not having a home life, being a stray in the ghetto. Five of Pentacles is the main card for being very sick (person or animal). Five of Pentacles is also feeling down, being miserable, feeling inferior or low class, drained and empty. Five of Pentacles also describes an object that is in a state of disrepair or is worn out: a sick house as well as sick people.

.

Five of Pentacles also represents the empty misery of missing someone – doing without the comfort of a loved one. Despair.

Four of Cups Don’t gimme that,” Four of Cups says – “Take that out of my face.” No way. Not allowed. Not letting. Don’t want it. It’s not my problem. Just say ‘no,’ and ‘What part of ‘no’ do you not understand: The ‘N’ or the ‘O’? The picture says it all, making this one of the very simple cards to apply in your spreads: an anchor card par excellence.  As a negator card, Four of Cups will translate just about any negative word.

.

He crosses his arms. He turns his face away. He even crosses his legs and sits down. The picture tells you everything you need to know. Once in a while Four of Cups translates “The buck stops here.”

Four of Wands House and home, family and relatives, groups of people (or other living things – the flock, the herd) from the couple to neighborhood-city-county-state-region-nation-international. It starts with the couple and it escalates over the whole globe. Four of Wands is ‘those people’ and ‘one of those people.’ It is about being a member and it is about the ‘them’ who don’t belong to the ‘us.’

.

But it means ‘the public’ and refers to public buildings and public organizations like corporations, companies. It even refers to a given race as a group, or a given religion as a group, or even a given class of people as a group.

.

The illustration here is of an outdoor celebration of a public wedding of community celebrities: the mayor’s daughter is marrying the sheriff’s son, and the peasants are part of the picture of the power structure, so let them eat cake. Four of Wands’ main meaning is this couple, marriage, family, relatives and clan application. It is also about gatherings of people (any group or organization of course) for mutual purposes that are productive to society. (Four of Wands is not your card for a riot.)

.

Four of Wands expands to mean ‘everybody,’ ‘us,’ and ‘them.’ It will also say phrases that express that same thing, phrases like: one of the people who; those people; people who have it all.

.

As a building, Four of Wands has the same progression, from the individual house or apartment to public buildings. Watch for it to name a building in your story by attaching to another card that represents what the building is used for, as it does today with ‘hospital’ being ‘building for sick people’ – Four of Wands and Five of Pentacles.

.

P. S. again: All three marriage cards (Four of Wands, Ten of Cups and Ten of Pentacles) expand the same way you see Four of Wands do here.

.

.

.

.

LEARN TAROT BY OBSERVING

                LEARN TAROT BY PICTURES

.

. ….. ..

Four of Wands is a group of people, a marriage or couple, a home life. Five of Pentacles is being drained of life, miserable, and doing without. In between them is a figure who clearly is not going to let this happen, who is saying ‘ no’ to that. So you immediately feel the ‘I’m not going to let them get to me’ of this spread. (Remember that Four of Wands calls down plural pronouns like ‘ them.’ With Four of Wands as family, you can feel someone rejecting a bloodsucking family. Or rejecting any bunch of people who are victimizing or draining (you).

.

Four of Wands is the public and represents any level of government, is any group of people, so these three cards even say the taxpayers are sick of being drained. So our story is also about rejecting ‘ them’ and ‘ it,’ an organization.

.

Rejecting in Four of Cups is ‘ not having anything to do with.’ And Five of Pentacles is to miss someone (or even something, at times). And here comes Four of Wands as spouse. So I do not miss my spouse.

.

Their misery is not my problem: That’s another rejection of a group of people. Four of Cups is ‘ not’ and Five of Pentacles is misery. Four of Wands makes it say ‘ their’ misery, because it can call pronouns into your sentence – just not usually possessive ones like this.

.

Five of Pentacles and Four of Cups picture the ‘ I’m not going to live like this anymore’ that hitting bottom brings a person to. I am not going to be broke or bankrupt. Rejecting the ghetto. Quit ( Four of Cups) feeling inferior ( Five of Pentacles) to other people ( Four of Wands) – or to everybody ( Four of Wands).

.

Four of Cups as a negator translates ‘to not be’ so I married ( Four of Wands) to not be ( Four of Cups) lonely( Five of Pentacles) anymore … or to not be broke anymore.

.

Five of Pentacles is being sorry for yourself. (And, yes, there are times when we deserve some sympathy from ourselves.) So no way am I going to be ( Four of Cups) sorry for myself ( Five of Pentacles) about the house ( Four of Wands) – which would be a story about not being able to get ( not being able to buy) that house.

.

Lack for nothing’ is an odd translate for Five of Pentacles, the lack, and Four of Cups, ‘ no way.’ I am not ( Four of Cups) doing without ( Five of Pentacles) where I am ( Four of Wands as ‘place’) is what ‘ lack for nothing at this place’ is saying, more formally.

.

Feeling sorry for ( Five of Pentacles) relatives ( Four of Wands) that you want nothing to do with ( Four of Cups). That’s another angle on the sentiments our spread expresses. And (I appreciate this one!) People who have it all ( Four of Wands as the community leaders) are miserable ( Five of Pentacles) when they don’t get something ( Four of Cups).

.

When Four of Wands is a house, someone has no interest in ( Four of Cups) that fixer-upper, the house ( Four of Wands) that’s in disrepair ( Five of Pentacles). Or, ‘Be it ever so humble’ ( Five of Pentacles in disrepair again) there’s no ( Four of Cups) place like home ( Four of Wands).

.

Five of Pentacles is sick people. Four of Cups is refusing to be. And Four of Wands of course is ‘ one of those people.’ So I refuse to be one of those sickly people.

.

Four of Cups and Four of Wands say ‘ don’t want to be married.’ So I’m bummed out ( Five of Pentacles) and don’t want to be married, or I got married because I did not want to be miserable.

.

You can see the variety of things here that three cards can express. Like I have said before (and will again): The question is half the answer or more, along with the ‘knowns’ that have developed in the previous spreads or in the history or the background of the question.

. …..      ..

.

.

AND NOW WITHOUT THE PICTURES

.

Four of Wands is a group of people, a marriage or couple, a home life. Five of Pentacles is being drained of life, miserable, and doing without. In between them is a figure who clearly is not going to let this happen, who is saying ‘no’ to that. So you immediately feel the ‘I’m not going to let them get to me’ of this spread. I got where I am today because I wanted no part of the ghetto. And I didn’t marry because I don’t want to be miserable. And I am healthy because of how I reject being sick. Today I ponder how realizing what we don’t want, and acting on that, gets us what we do want – that it’s no small factor, really.

Client replies:

Hi Emily,

Reflecting further on your reading and I am kind of stuck on the 7pent/Strength/Ace Wands interpretation. Any other way to interpret these three together? I understand what you read is what the other person thinks/feels, so it doesn’t matter if I agree with it or not, it’s not about what I think of myself… 🙂 it just seems like a stretch lol.

Thanks!

Emily responds:

ANOTHER INTERPRETATION FOR THIS SET, YOU ASK – YES, THERE IS:

Seven of Pentacles – Strength – Ace of Wands

He is wondering about whether – Seven of Pentacles

will overcome and dominate him. – Ace of Wands

Yes, there is. He is wondering about your strong influence on him amounting to you dominating him (common fear dudes have about dudesses). It goes like this, then:

Being the Boyfriend of the sexy lady makes me the studly (dominant) dude. Wants you more than anything – will not break up with you. Wonders whether your strong influence will overcome him. [Strength is a very strong influence that causes someone or something to behave and be harmless. Ace of Wands means dominance too, and also means sex from a male perspective.] He objectively watches as he drifts toward unconditional love. He is very conscious of what you expect of a man who pursues you. [This applies to that wondering about your influence, of course.] So crazy about this shapely gal, I might even marry her. [This is what made me prefer the sexual meaning to the set of cards you ask about.]

Note your session includes both ‘Duh’ cards, Seven of Pentacles and Seven of Cups. This is a gear in dudes’ psyches – a very common mentality of being stuck and unable to think their way out of it – that things should not be this way, so how could they be? It often comes up when a man is questioning his control over a situation or a person.

Tarot Readings for You for May 10, 2017 Wednesday©

May 9, 2017 by

Here is a visitor’s email reading. It is about relationships with relatives. (I always have the permission of the person whose reading this is.) This is the same sort of reading you will receive if you click on the Email Reading navigation tab and put your question in.  You can research meanings displayed here further for yourself by entering the card into a Google search bar, or entering a pair into the search bar followed by ‘Tarot Verbatim.’  This will access the archives of this site for you.

The category of life is:: Other , My question is:: How does my mother really feel since I found my father and we have reunited together?

.

Three of Cups – Queen of Pentacles – Five of Cups

She valued the camaraderie of what you and she have in common – is sad.

.

.

Your mother feels like her husband’s got another woman – very similar indignation. However, she can relate to the relationship you are enjoying because she remembers those sweet days. Five of Cups describes the melancholy sense of loss. And note how many negative cards are used that express ‘No, no, it’s not’ … along with cards that describe him being good to you.

.

Also, the pair of cards that mean three people engaged in something together (a triangle) appear in this reading: Three of Pentacles and Three of Cups.

Tarot Readings for You for May 3, 2017 Wednesday©

May 2, 2017 by

A visitor asks this question, and gives me permission to share her reading with you. (The Email Reading navigation tab is where you get one for yourself.)

[The email exchange:]

The category of life is:: Love
My question is:: When and with who will my next relationship be with?

Emily:
Tarot does not say when; you have to state a time phase. ‘Tell me about my best candidate for a relationship within the next 3 months’ would be a good question.

I have put several spreads down. Same cards come up, no ‘Prince Charming.’ Suggest we ask something like: Give me the kinds of guys I meet in six months, the best of them.
I will wait for you to answer this, to get the question you want.

Client:
Hi Emily
Thank you for your message
Could the question be as you suggested –

Give me the kinds of guys I meet in six months, the best of them.

Many thanks

Email Reading

Question: Give me the kinds of guys I meet in six months, the best of them.

.

Eight of Pentacles – Seven of Cups – High Priestess

Here’s you being ladylike and not getting involved in a lot of the usual chaos around you (could be at work too).

Here’s you being the lady and not involving yourself in – High Priestess

all sorts of confusing – Seven of Cups

activity – Eight of Pentacles

in your environment – Seven of Cups

maybe at work too. – Eight of Pentacles

.

Seven of Pentacles – Five of Wands – Four of Cups

You want no part in this questionable activity.

You want no part in – Four of Cups

this questionable – Seven of Pentacles

activity. – Five of Wands

.

Wheel of Fortune – Page of Swords – Six of Pentacles

Here comes a grand opportunity, an exciting one: A fellow shows you the right kind of attention (and respect).

Here comes a grand opportunity – Wheel of Fortune

– an exciting one! – Page of Swords

a man who respects you is here showing you good attention. – Six of Pentacles**

.

Queen of Cups – Star – Three of Swords

You have faith in him as he says ‘I love you’ and is crazy about you, but there’s some factor in the environment that is not conducive.

You have faith in him

as he says his ‘I love yous’ and adores you,

but there’s some adverse factor.

.

Four of Wands – Sun – Emperor

He is thrilled to be your spouse and he head of your family (with a baby boy?).

He is thrilled – ready to leave his current neighborhood -**

and live with you and be your spouse – Four of Wands

and head of your family. – Emperor***

.

Two of Swords – Page of Wands – Ten of Cups

Handsome fellow here is talking – Page of Wands

getting married and living happily ever – Ten of Cups

but there’s something holding that back. – Two of Swords

*Note here that the ‘activity’ that Five of Wands strongly means spills that word (activity) over into Eight of Pentacles in the sentence above it which usually translates continually doing something (which is similar but not an exact match).

**Six of Pentacles here hints at him taking initiative, since the employer is the active role in paying employees – the meaning illustrated in Six of Pentacles.

***Note that Sun uses the part of its meaning about leaving the house, under the influence of the next card, Four of Wands, that means home, family, and marriage. Sun also means a child. Emperor is Father. These could be hints about your story, but they are not directly answering the question so they are below the radar in our interpretations. Note another possibility here is your getting pregnant, which is a reason to get married. If so, Tarot is probably indicating it’s a boy. ALL THIS IS HIGHLY SPECULATIVE, just add-on meanings from the real story.

This is just my guess based on past experience (and the additional meaning of a few of these cards), but the factor that goes against you two making a nest together may be that he isn’t divorced yet but is separated. Also that son may be one he already has. This question covers only six months.

[Email exchange:]

Here it is. That was the right question, and we have ourselves a fine story.

Client
Thank you Emily, I’m fascinated by the reading.
I am already starting to piece together some parts of the story in my head.

I’d be delighted for you to use this in your blog.

I have no doubt I will request another reading in time.
Best wishes
