Some people go to church every Sunday for years and never join, and some fellas go to a gal just as frequently as that and never join. In just such an old-old story, a lady wants to know what … sooner or later … multitudes of ladies want to know. She has agreed to let her story be aired here on Tarot Verbatim™

More meanings of these cards can be had by typing the names of a pair of them into Google, or a single name with ‘Tarot Verbatim’ after it if you want only items from the archives of our site. Many fellows want to keep their teenage years freedoms, and this makes them fear a relationship, even one they chose and maintained. There comes a point where they either wear themselves out fighting it, and give in and have a good relationship, or they chicken out and run away. Your guy has ‘crossed his Rubicon’: He is deciding to stay.

.

Looks like his view of you being able to be independent and take care of yourself is a big plus to him. When fellows feel that way, some of them complain about or resent that fact. Go figure.

.

The last two spreads are a great example of why not to fear ‘bad cards.’

.

Client’s comments:

Hello Emily,

Thank you for the reading, it soothed me a bit even if I don’t truly believe he will be mine forever.  The cards were on point for several keys, even though I gave you nothing to really go on.  You have permission to share, leaving out my name.

The cards identified me as an independent woman that can care for myself, and you intuitively said that he actually likes that about me, he does.  Also, “I become my best self here, but don’t want to admit it”.  He is likely at his best performance with me (what keeps him coming back). He would never admit he needs me or has feelings because we are in a modern “situationship” and says he wants casual only.  But it feels more than that!

“Happy now, won’t demand my way”.  He has been coming to visit twice as much as usual, and has not put any new restrictions lately (he unfriended me on everything during last break up, now he seems to have relaxed a bit, still not on media though).  The part about him being miserable when he starts a fight to break up, now I know he was miserable without me, and he comes back even if I do something he hates.

He plays games, but I call him out on it.  I have tolerated alot, but on the things that I won’t, I have not been easy on him (but still take him back, ugh, he is so dreamy!).

I still don’t know if he secretly loves me…kinda think it shows, but he hides it.  He will not be with me forever, but maybe at this moment he feels like he could mess with me forever, ha-ha.  I need to do another reading to ask why he won’t be in a “real” relationship with me.  So this will be two parts.

Tarot Readings for You for April 13-14, 2017 Thursday-Friday©

Apr 12, 2017 by

Here is another Email Reading. It’s from a past format. This one is a good example of why it is a good idea to say – in a romantic question – whether you and/or the other party are married. It shows how I can answer without that specification, and be right, though.

Question:  Hi Emily. Please can you have a look at my love life. I have been seeing someone for a while but it is complicated. Please can you see how he feels about me and if we have a future together. Many thanks

I am going to have to answer in the alternative. We have a marriage theme. If you are married or he is married, not to one another, these cards could apply differently.

Question: How does he feel about you?

Lovers

Nine of Pentacles – Four of Wands – Three of Cups

Nine of Pentacles: He sees you as someone who can take care of herself, who minds her own business, who can do just fine without him as a single woman.

Lovers: and you two are a pair, are lovers, are partners, are together.

Four of Wands: You are a couple, you are together, you are family – and this is the main marriage card. Illustration shows a wedding.

Three of Cups: Once again, you are happy together, you are sharing one another’s lives and enjoying it.

Three out of four cards mean together, and together in a good, happy sharing family way. The other card describes the way he sees you: independent, the opposite of clingy.

(A fellow who values a Nine of Pentacles woman, who is married, usually has a clingy and/or bossy wife. A live-in will show up as a marriage in Tarot, and so sometimes will the mother of the fellow’s child.)

.

.

.

Four of Swords

King of Wands – Seven of Cups – Hanged Man

King of Wands: The passionate man, your man, the practical hands-on working man, the angry or frustrated man, fellow with a temper … and the husband. He is your man, he feels a family bond, a marriage bond with you.

Seven of Cups: Things are messed up*

Hanged Man: and he feels strongly

Four of Swords: that they are going to stay that way, and ‘There’s nothing I can do about this,’ (which is often a cop out. I call it ‘can’t-itis. Especially true of menfolk: It they dread doing something, or if they simply don’t want to do something, they say (and may believe) that they can’t. Very common.)

*messed up – This is your ‘Things are complicated.’

As I said, we have a marriage theme, all three of our spreads. This one looks very much like he is married to someone else. If that isn’t the case, let me know, and I will apply that – or ask another question.

.

.

.

.

Question: ” … and if we have a future together.”  This is vague, so I will assume you mean:  Are you and the dude going to be a couple who love one another out in public, with a good future together?   Maybe you even mean get married or live together.

.

Three of Pentacles

Queen of Cups – Justice – Eight of Swords

Eight of Swords: Another card that means ‘can’t.’ Unable, hands are tied.

Queen of Cups and Justice:   These taken together can mean legal wife: The woman who loves, admires and understands him, the loyal wife, the good woman, Queen of Cups, and Justice is commitment, suggests marriage especially if there is a theme … which there is, here. These two cards together also say ‘Her idea she will be married/committed to this man.’ – because Queen of Cups also means her thought, her idea, woman is thinking.

Three of Pentacles: A relationship in which each person does her/her part, an agreement or ‘by agreement,’ and also means meeting together in person.

So this says you two have a relationship that both parties engage in but it isn’t going to be the way you are thinking … ‘which is marriage’ or ‘because of a marriage.’

Feedback from client:

Hi Emily, Many thanks for your answer, you are right in your assumptions.

Guidance     Women who are independent refuse to make other people behave as they should; They just wait for them to, if they’re gonna.   Because they can:  They have life figured out, they have it made.  She don’t need nobody to tell her troubles to because she ain’t got no troubles worth talkin’ about.  But an independent woman is not for him, he connects with ladies who are direct with him about their needs, who take the initiative with him.   Today is telling us ‘Don’t get involved.’

Now,  Part Two,

Do you want to know a little, or a lot, about how this Tarot Verbatim™ thing works? If so,

*Go to Learn Tarot by Observing section below. This tells about the combined four pictures in the Tarot Readings – the pictures above here.  It explains how these four cards get together in your mind to make the messages.

*Go to Learn Tarot by Pictures.  It is what each of the four cards, by itself, has to say.  It shows you how that illustration makes that card’s meanings in today’s Spread. All the words of each Tarot card reading you see here are a phrase-by-phrase translation of the scene pictured on those cards: no filler, no psychic impressions, no spirit guide. Word-for-word Tarot Verbatim™.

You can put all this together and intuitively see yourself how Tarot Verbatim™ works.

This is a group reading, with no Questioner and no Question to limit what the cards say, so there’s more variety – even contradictions – and also the pronouns are more flexible. If it feels like it’s yours, and it says ‘he,’ and you’re a ‘she,’ feel free to adopt it anyway.

 Four of Cups

Strength – Nine of Pentacles – Lovers

LEARN TAROT BY OBSERVING

.

Strength and Nine of Pentacles may be the same woman at two different stages of her life. Strength and Nine of Pentacles brook (put up with) no interference and are detached people.

Strength handles interference directly, hands-on, finesses whatever the intrusion is with superior force diplomatically, ever so skillfully. She quashes the opposition and she aces the challenge, overcomes so artfully often no one notices. ‘Nips opposition in the bud’ is a phrase of hers. The challenge can be internal (some vice, perhaps) or external (some pest or enemy).

The deeper meaning of Strength is strength of character: Her white robe, the garland belt, and the eternity symbol over her head are symbols of spiritual purity and power.

Nine of Pentacles has already been there and done that;  she is retired in splendor from actual hands-on operations, and does not have to lower herself to be involved anymore with anyone. She is in a category or niche of her own, is not answerable to anyone. See how she is in her vineyard in a robe in the middle of an afternoon workday with her falcon?

Put Strength and Nine of Pentacles together, and we clearly have an accomplished senior individual who is ‘above it all’ and who is not talking to the public.

Lovers, besides the obvious, means to connect or contact, to associate or be associated with, to stand next to, be on the same side as, or partner with another person. The angel brings in protection, divine protection or supervision, and the idea of ‘higher ups’ in a company watching out for a member. We are not using those meanings today, though.

Four of Cups’ picture shows what it means: ‘No, I ain’t having none of that. I ain’t interested – not now, and not later.’ I won’t. No way.

Lovers and Four of Cups has the same connotation as Strength and Nine of Pentacles: ‘No, I am not having anything to do with (whatever or whoever).’ It says ‘Don’t get involved; don’t associate yourself’ with (whatever). This is an emphatic message for us all.

Strength and Four of Cups are both not letting something happen. Strength has engaged with the thing that isn’t going to happen, to quash or prevent it. Four of Cups simply isn’t letting it go through, is refusing it, vetoing it, and doesn’t want it. This is him not wanting a pushy woman, and the woman who ‘isn’t going to take “No” for an answer.’

Strength and Lovers ‘isn’t about to associate with.’ These two could mean several things. You don’t see them paired very often. Preventing contact or connection, not letting someone partner up with you, is most likely. Influencing an opponent to stand with you or partner with you – making your enemy love you – is a possible application of Strength and Lovers.

Nine of Pentacles and Lovers is the independent woman and a partner, is the man who loves a woman who is cool and ‘has a life of her own.’ It is also about contacting or connecting with someone who is not available.

Nine of Pentacles and Four of Cups both mind their own business and disregard outside influences, and are not contactable. Nine of Pentacles is unapproachable, in her own private world. Four of Cups is refusing repeated input, saying no to offers every time.

LEARN TAROT BY PICTURES

.

Strength Lion represents wild impulses or a predator: intrusions upon or invasion of a person’s life. The story is: She is so strong of spirit and character (the white gown, the garland belt, the ‘eternity’ sign as a halo) that the opposition (lion) loses his snarl and is purring against his will as she shuts his mouth with her dainty hands. Strength is overcoming; Strength is finessing.

Nine of Pentacles is independent, skilled, in a niche or category of her own, not at anyone’s beck and call. She has been there and done that and has the certificate to prove it. Probably a self-made specialist. She can be an heiress, can be the business owner. She works from her home. She doesn’t need anyone. She is single and lives alone.

Four of Cups Sits cross legged, averts his eyes and head as there’s yet another offer: Four of Cups is saying ‘no,’ refusing. Here are the phrases it makes in today’s messages: not listening, isn’t about to, not going to, nor does she, who doesn’t, can’t say ‘no,’ does not respond when, doesn’t want to, Don’t do, is not for him, she pressures him, has no, I am not, doesn’t need anyone, not, doesn’t want, has no .. and no …, simply refuse to be, brook no, has no.

Advice is about women who are independent,  who refuse to make other people behave as they should,  and just wait for them to.  Because they can:  They have life figured out,  they have it made.  She don’t need nobody to tell her troubles to because she ain’t got no troubles.  But an independent woman is not for him,  he connects with ladies who are direct with him,  who take the initiative with him.

At the time of production,  there’s no way to correct the lack of spaces after punctuation. I am writing around it now!)

=========================================================================

Is this the first time you come here?  Well … what to do:

*Go to Advice above which is a summary of the Messages.  (Advice is everyone’s favorite part.)

*Go to Daily Message Tarot Analysis below.  One or more of those sentences has something to say to you.  Intuitively pick those out.  They are about you and the people around you.  They are about today and the days around it.   (It  is a group message like a horoscope,  except Tarot isn’t based on someone else’s birth data,  so it can be specific,  accurate,  detailed and direct.  Our experiment here is “How much more accurate is it?”)

Did you come here for your predictions?  –  You are done now  –  See you tomorrow.

Without a question to focus the answer,  four cards can mean contradictory things especially when the Spread has a card that negates other cards.  Without a question also the pronouns in a group reading are more flexible,  especially in some of these Rider Waite Tarot spreads.  When a pronoun is in parentheses,  feel very free to substitute.  The question in a ‘real’ individual reading supplies at least half the information!

Four of Cups

Strength  –  Nine of Pentacles  –  Lovers

MEANINGS AND ILLUSTRATIONS:  OBSERVATION OF THE SPREAD

This is a  ‘cold’  layout.  It’s intriguing how often we have a  ‘spoiler’  card,  where three of them are in a groove and the fourth thumbs it nose at the groove.  Spoiler card today is Four of Cups,  which also  –  as the negator  –  produces contradictory sentences.  Grrr.

We begin with two females who brook no interference.  Strength handles interference directly,  quashes the opposition,  aces the challenge,  overcomes.  Nine of Pentacles has already been there and done that;  she is retired in splendor and does not have to be involved anymore with anyone.  They are the same dame at two different stages of her life,  quite often.

Lovers,  besides the obvious,  means to contact,  to connect,  to be associated with  –  to stand next to and partner with.  And Four of Cups means  ‘No.’  Means  ‘not interested.’  Means  ‘I won’t.’  No way,  Jose!

It’s easy to see all kinds of  ‘Lady ain’t interested’  scenarios here.  Very easy.

MEANINGS AND ILLUSTRATIONS:  INDIVIDUAL RIDER WAITE TAROT CARDS

Strength The story here is,  the lion,  wild impulses,  attacks her but she is sooo spiritually superior (the white dress with the garland,  the  ‘eternity’  sign as a halo) that the lion loses his snarl and is purring against his will. The idea applies to overcoming one’s internal vices as well as one’s external challenges.

Nine of Pentacles has been there,  done that,  and retired from the field.  Don’t ask her for a loan,  she is self-made and doesn’t need anyone to clutter her lovely day.  Just look at her wearing a bath robe in mid-day as she trains her falcon.  (Yes, that is supposed to be a falcon;  Pamela Coleman Smith was from Jamaica and there was no Wiki anything.)

Lovers shows Adam and Eve  –  she with the snake in the tree,  and he with the tree of life.  Between them a volcano reminiscent of passion;  above them,  an angel and the noon sun,  the angel having a hairdo you will never see on any other angel.  Anyway,  connection and contact,  partnership and association,  and protection from above are its main meanings.

Four of Cups ‘No.’  ‘I’m not interested.’  ‘I won’t.’  ‘No way, Jose!’  A fellow averts his face,  folds his arms as well as legs as he refuses yet another offer.  This is one of the Rider Waite Tarot cards that you don’t have to learn the main meaning of.

Being sex partners with a single woman who has her own place is fun for a young man

Lovers
Nine of Pentacles, Ace of Wands, Sun

Romantic Perspective:
Free of her lover, home alone as her own boss.
She is her own boss, he is Lover-Boy.
Fun sex as the lover of a woman who doesn’t need anyone.
He is the so sexy, this is a lighthearted love partnership with a foxy businesswoman.
Being sex partners with a single woman who has her own place is fun for a young man.

He has to leave the woman he loves all alone.
Have to get out of the house together, when she works at home.
Her love partner has to be a young fellow.
A powerful woman hooks up with a very young guy.
He leaves his place and has sex at his lover’s – she has her own place.

Not much to this one! The single woman or the businesswoman or the woman who has/owns her own place is the Nine of Pentacles. Then we have the penis, sex, the Ace of Wands. Then we have Sun, which is to leave the house, to have fun, to be young … young and reckless type thing. Then we have the Lovers. Hello, that’s all there is to this spread. Hope you enjoy!

Advice is, well, to get out and have fun sex, be you the single woman or the young guy.

Meanings and Illustrations:

Nine of Pentacles: She is the single woman, independent, owns or has her own place, and does things in her own sweet time. She is in her vineyard with her snail and her falcon, dressed in her robe.

Ace of Wands: If you have read these messages a while, I’ll bet you remember this card before most of the others. It looks like a penis and often means sex. It also means being the boss, being assertive. The hand with the board in it, and the board is sprouting little boards. [Blush]

Sun: Here’s the fun guy, the young boy on his first romp with his evil pony who is about to teach him a lesson about bareback. It’s sunny out and the sunflowers are blooming.

Lovers: In this spread this card has no wiggle room whatsoever; it must live up to its title and to its illustration of a naked man and woman with a volcano between them. It’s sunny there too.

One breakthrough after another in her mental adventures.

Seven of swords is danger, taking a chance, assault, criminal, even murder. It is also stealing the enemy’s weapons or revenge, and stealing anything, and a thief. Then it can mean sneaking around, fooling around, too. When it shares billing with the Tower, which is an explosion, a gunshot, an eruption, a temper fit or seizure or heart attack, the danger is enacted. Not good. But the Two of Pentacles is a ‘maybe, maybe not’ kind of thing, which also means ‘unstable.’ Then along comes the nice lady who knows. Sounds like a TV crime drama or a divorce.

Advice is that somewhere around you a betrayal of some sort is lurking (Seven of Swords), and you know about it, you are on to it (Queen of Cups), and may be letting it go on (Two of Pentacles) on purpose. A confrontation may be brewing. Again, you are ‘thinking about it.’ It certainly seems that sexual infidelity and thievery are the most likely of the betrayals.

Meanings and Illustrations:

Seven of Swords: Seven of swords can be danger, risk or risky, taking a chance, assault, criminal, even murder. It is also stealing the enemy’s weapons or revenge, and stealing anything, and a thief. Then it can mean sneaking around, fooling around, too. The illustration has a fellow hotfooting it out of the enemy camp with their weapons in his bare hands: Yes, a risky venture.

Two of Pentacles: Oopsy-daisy. This could go either way. This is an unstable situation. It also means to keep doing, and ‘in process.’ The Seven of Swords amplifies the instability, since it means to take a chance in a risky situation. The illustration is a juggler, with the mathematical sign that means ‘go on forever’ and ships tossing in waves in the background.

Queen of Cups: She knows, she learns of, she thinks. Here, she is watching a situation too. This is the nice pretty lady who dreamily contemplates some funky object she holds.

Tower: Here the Tower of Babel, in Rider Waite, is destroyed, blows up. To divorce, to be fired or fire someone, the overthrow or destruction of evil, a temper tantrum, a seizure.
