Three of Swords and Strength both speak to a struggle or a battle. Three of Swords is famously one of the divorce cards, and it is about pain, heartache, rebellion, hostility, hurt feelings, surgery, and even hate.

Strength’s take on a struggle or battle is overcoming opposition and preventing a battle. Three of Swords is open war and is angst-ridden. Strength is a triumph of diplomacy or being the kind of person whose presence or existence intimidates wouldbe intimidators.

Page of Wands is an innocent bystander in the confrontation. Page of Wands is anything referring to talking; is a good guy; is in good shape as far as position, and as far as physical condition; is young (junior, here!); and is handsome or good-looking. His meaning any kind of spoken language makes ‘word battle’ when joined with Three of Swords.

Re Three of Swords being both surgery and divorce: They both involve cutting out something, and you see the knives cutting the heart. This is a fine example of subconscious reasoning that Tarot introduces you to.

LEARN SINGLE TAROT CARDS BY PICTURES.

GET A SINGLE CARD’S MEANINGS: TYPE ITS NAME AND ‘TAROT VERBATIM’ INTO GOOGLE

Page of Wands       Here’s a picture of a handsome well-dressed fellow who is pleasantly speaking up. Page of Wands refers to being in good physical shape, being good-looking, being the good guy or person with the good reputation, and putting one’s best self (‘foot’) forward. It also means speaking, saying, etc. and ‘physical.’

Three of Swords  shows a valentine-heart pierced by knives, storm clouds surrounding it. Three of Swords is one of two cards that make a divorce theme and also mean to be fired or quit a job. Tower is the other one. Three of Swords is kinds of suffering. Today Three of Swords applies to troubles, impediment, to quit, battle, heartbreaker, reprimanded or punished, pain, the rebel, people who are against; injury; bad feeling, being difficult; surgery; adversity; conflict; hurt.

Strength       You see a calm woman in white wearing flowers who sports the math sign for infinitely repeating numbers as a halo, and she has her two hands on snout and chin of a lion. She stands by his side as if petting him rather than in front as if subduing. The picture illustrates the concept that a person who operates in the spiritual plane overcomes attacks in the physical plane by preventing them through force of character. Of course, this concept is applied in more down-to-earth scenarios than this!

Handling is one of Strength’s favorite words. So is solution. Overcoming is the nut concept of this card. And Strength is equally about internal (spiritual, mental, emotional) struggles like overcoming a habit and getting a grip upon Self as it is about overcoming or quashing or preventing outside opposition. Because Strength’s overcoming is often via preventing, via ‘nipping it in the bud.’ Strength reflects that ‘someone I would not mess with’ instinct that sane people all have.

.

.

You are in good shape when you can handle adversities and oppositions gracefully, and you are in good shape when you can stifle internal bruises as well. We are looking at the kind of victory that prevents, skirts, and avoids the battle instead of winning it hands-on. Even the kind of victory of making the enemy your admirer. Not necessarily friend: admirer! This is an invisible no-fanfare victory.

Page of Wands – Six of Pentacles – Three of Swords

.,

.

.

LEARN TAROT BY OBSERVING

                LEARN TAROT BY PICTURES..

.. …….……    …..,      In the middle is Six of Pentacles: an exchange; treating others, and being treated; doing the fair and right thing; paying and getting paid; fairness and justice; giving and receiving. To the left in Page of Wands is being in good shape, being a good person, being good-looking, and speaking. To the right, changing the application of the other two Tarot concepts, is Three of Swords – hurting, damage, injury, adversity, being mean, divorce, against, surgery, heart and heartache and heart problems. We have stories.

.. …….……Page of Wands is ‘the fair-haired boy,’ a person who is fair; Six of Pentacles is treating others fairly. Page of Wands and Six of Pentacles is being rewarded for who you are – for your image or your connections, your look. These two Tarot cards describe the benefits of fitting in or conforming. They actually say ‘Say the right words’ too.

.…… ….., Page of Wands is in good shape; Three of Swords is damaged or injured. Page of Wands and Three of Swords describe the handsome heartbreaker; they describe saying hateful words; and they speak of the suffering that has made him (or her) a good-or-better person.

.…… ….., Six of Pentacles is fairness; Three of Swords is meanness and hurt (hurt feelings too). So Six of Pentacles and Three of Swords describe someone being treated hatefully, and also describe the way you deal with, or dealt with, adversity. Since Six of Pentacles is ‘the market,’ and since Three of Swords is ‘damage,’ they speak of a down market, of getting hurt in the market. This pair of cards also describes being harmed by the way a person spends money.

Since Six of Pentacles is also court and lawsuits, and Three of Swords is damages, this pair of cards speaks of getting paid (or paying for) damages in court.

.

.

.

.

GET A SINGLE CARD’S MEANINGS: TYPE ITS NAME AND ‘TAROT VERBATIM’ INTO GOOGLE.

Page of Wands      Here’s a picture of a handsome well-dressed fellow who is pleasantly speaking up. Page of Wands refers to being in good physical shape, being good-looking, being the good guy or person with the good reputation, being the best person you can be (in your own opinion, or from the perspective of others) – as well as being ‘that type’ of person. Image. Reputation. Page of Wands is very much ‘real world,’ and can even translate ‘physical,’ like Hierophant can – another card that is also about good reputation.

Page of Wands has another strong application of talk, tell, say, the word, what people are talking about, the word on the street, what people are saying. Since it is a person card too, ‘He said’ belongs to him. Since Page of Wands is such an attractive likable person, he is the salesman who can talk us into anything.

Six of Pentacles      Six of Pentacles is a fair deal, a fair exchange. You see the employer weighing the coins into the hands of his workers, because the gold-weight of the coins is what they are actually valued at when the fellows use them in their transactions. Six of Pentacles is both about you getting what you deserve (either way!) and about you giving others what they deserve, and that applies not just to the money exchange we see in the picture, but also to social exchanges of any kind … like you giving the attention a person deserves, or getting the attention you deserve. Attention or credit, actually.

Six of Pentacles – remember – refers to either/or the buy and the sell part of a deal – in the same way you see Six of Swords emphasizing either the leaving or the arriving – or both.

More broadly, Six of Pentacles simply refers to the way something or someone is being treated.

In today’s stories, Six of Pentacles is equally about a good price for something, and a good income. It’s about the good amount of money to get for what you do, and the right price to pay for what you want or need.

You can label Six of Pentacles as ‘It’s a deal.’

Three of Swords      Storm clouds and rain behind a heart pierced by blades: You don’t need to be told; you too have been there. Three of Swords is a spoiler card that rains on its neighbors. Bad weather; adverse conditions.

Three of Swords is one of two divorce cards in the Tarot Verbatim™ system. [The other is Tower. When these two appear in two separate sentences or sections of your Tarot Verbatim™ Celtic Cross spread, you have a for-sure divorce (or firing) theme.] So Three of Swords means to separate yourself from someone or something, dissociate, divorce, reject – or have that happen to you. It means adversity and hostility and to be against something or someone – even to hate – or have that happen to you. You can summarize and label Three of Swords as ‘all the feelings that go along with a typical divorce.’

Three of Swords is when everything is going against, is the time of quarreling and separation, is adversity and hostility, is being in the wrong company, the wrong setting for you. It’s also being fired, or firing. It can even speak of a stabbing.

Three of Swords means injury, trauma, surgery, cuts, pain and any heart trouble too.

Here are today’s literal phrases Three of Swords contributes: a rival; quits; adverse; firings; against it; heart problem; hurting; surgery; painful; adversity; suffered; disagreeable people; make an enemy; people who are against that; there’s some bad feeling; punished; harming; divorced; broke your heart; against all the odds; jealous; hateful; so mean; breaks up with you; difficult people; against; hurt my feelings; lawsuit; injury; cross-__; damage.

.

.

.

.

.

When I’m being a good person, I treat hateful people fairly (although I do speak up). Sometimes being a good person causes other people to treat me hatefully. The way I handle being treated hatefully can make me a more likable person, an even better version of my already-okay self.

Our Daily Spread September 12, 2011 Monday ©

Advice is about the roles that both adversity and breaking off with people we are associated with play in our getting ahead and looking acceptable to other people, looking respectable. To please the people who are disposed to disagree with us, we should have ‘the look,’ the flawless look that indicates everybody else agrees with us. Advice also covers the fact that the look isn’t always enough for the long haul … that sometimes we dissociate ourselves from the successful, respectable handsome man.

Nine of Cups

Chariot – Three of Swords – Page of Wands

Is this the first time you come here? Well … what to do:

*Go to Daily Message Tarot Analysis below. One or more of those sentences has something to say to you. Pick those out. They are about you and the people around you. They are about today and the days around it. (It is a group message like a horoscope, except Tarot isn’t based on someone else’s birth data, so it can be specific, accurate, detailed and direct. Our experiment here is “How much more accurate is it?”)

*Go to Advice to apply what those sentences say (in the best way) for you. (Advice is everyone’s favorite part.) Did you come here for your predictions? – You are done now – See you tomorrow.

The Question for weekdays is: “Tell the visitors here something useful and meaningful to them. The Question for weekends is stated right on top on those days if there is one.

Without a question to focus the answer, four cards can mean contradictory things especially when the Spread has a card that negates other cards. Without a question also the pronouns in a group reading are more flexible, especially in some of these Rider Waite Tarot spreads. When a pronoun is in parentheses, feel very free to substitute. The question in a ‘real’ individual reading supplies at least half the information!

MEANINGS AND ILLUSTRATIONS:

OBSERVATION OF THE SPREAD

These are pretty much independent Tarot citizens with no theme … but Chariot and Page of Wands are both solid people who are respectable and successful.

Chariot is a success and Nine of Cups has what it wants and Page of Wands has the look. They play well together.

Three of Swords stands in the corner, as well it might, since it means to dissociate, to divorce, adversity, hostility, separation and so on. What is a bad looking guy like this doing here?

MEANINGS AND ILLUSTRATIONS:

INDIVIDUAL RIDER WAITE TAROT CARDS

.
Chariot has arrived, has a skill and is expert at using it for a purpose, so he is ‘going places.’ Chariot is a strategist who does what it takes to arrive at the place he wants to be. You can see how he is going to drive those steeds with nothing but his wand there. We know people like this, don’t we? Let’s be friends with them.

Three of Swords is when everything is going against, is the time of quarreling and separation, is adversity and hostility, is being in the wrong company, the wrong setting for you. The illustration is forthright: Gray clouds and rain storm behind a heart pierced with the three swords. Been there too, haven’t you?

Page of Wands
is the fellow with, as my daddy used to say, the clean nose. He is the ‘fair haired boy’ cliche. He is the well-dressed well-spoken fellow who plays tennis. He talks you into things. His daddy is successful, don’t you think?

Nine of Cups is having it all. Every time I see the illustration on it – of the pudgy fellow with the besotted look and the ten cups on the mantle – I think of the saying “I can’t believe I ate the whole thing.”
