Hanged Man Another card based on myth. Several myths have the main character (god or hero) hang himself on a tree and sacrifice a body part, a body function, for ‘wisdom,’ by which is meant a spiritual psychic gift. (Odin and Apollo for starters.) That is how some Tarot systems have Hanged Man represent sacrifice.

.

Hanged Man’s illustration depicts the feeling you get when a new level of awareness comes upon you. He is upside-down and his head is afire.

.

So Hanged Man realizes, sees, knows, gets a feeling, has a hunch, sees the light, his gut tells him. He also has inspired notions and represents the subconscious. Hanged Man is one of the cards that can represent a vision. (Judgment and Four of Swords are two more.)

.

The most common words for Hanged Man, besides ‘realize,’ are these: idea, know, know how to, thought(s), understand, mind, feel, see, in my head, have in mind.

Six of Swords Six of Swords is a complex card until you sort out its sources for its meanings. You see maybe refugees leaving at dusk or twilight ‘with the clothes on their back’ and with the help of a friend. Traditionally, the man is a friend and it’s his humble boat. They are leaving a terrible place, and headed for a better one. Tradition is, they will arrive wherever that is.

.

So here you have a card whose mood is both despairing and hopeful. You have a journey, you have a transition, you have life improving … but improving because anything would be an improvement.

.

A journey over water is a journey in consciousness. That’s everybody’s tradition. The combination of this card strongly meaning to leave or depart, and the journey over water being a journey in consciousness adds up to Six of Swords being the card for ‘the departed.’ This picture kind of reminds you of this: “In Greek mythology, Charon or Kharon is the ferryman of Hades who carries souls of the newly deceased across the rivers Styx and Acheron that divided the world of the living from the world of the dead.”.

.

Part of the complexity of Six of Swords meaning (besides both hope and hopelessness) is the fact that it means all these things: to leave; to go to; the journey or to be on the way.

.

Since Six of Swords is leaving a bad place and going to a better one, it naturally means to recover, to get over (whatever), transition, to get underway – to be on your way. It also means to distance yourself from something.

Judgment This scene of Judgment Day shows dead people alive again, awakened by the angel’s horn. That short cross on the angel’s flag is the one that means where the spiritual and the physical intersect, or the union of those two.

.

We use the common meanings for Judgment which are: change; again; to return; to come back; new life or new phase; back to life or recover or get over; the speak/tell/say theme of Tarot’s; life after death, including the return of the departed; and revelation or realize or idea (or get the idea). Judgment translates ‘again’ because the people are alive again, and ‘suddenly’ because that happened suddenly.

.

Note that Judgment can mean both a fresh start and to start over. It means both the first time and the second time because the new life is a return to the old life. Ya just hafta get used to this! So you find Judgment translating these words and phrases: another, the next phase, do that one again, the new place, a fresh start coming on, one more thing, reappears.

Judgment also means renewal or recovery or restoration, which of course arises from the restoration, renewal, and recovery of the formerly dead bodies. You find Judgment meaning any number of words beginning in the prefix ‘re-‘ because of the regeneration theme.

.

.

.

LEARN TAROT BY OBSERVING

               LEARN TAROT BY PICTURES..

.. …..      ….

.. . Note that Six of Swords and Judgment both are about a death. Six of Swords translates ‘the departed,’ because that journey over water of broken-spirited people suggests that, and because, well, they are departing. They are also mourning a loss (of everything they had). And Six of Swords also is grieving – being left behind and feeling sad. And Judgment, of course, shows coffins and obviously is about life after death. Judgment is a new life; Six of Swords is putting the old life behind.

.

.. . Six of Swords and Judgment are both about going from one place, or one state of being, to another. Judgment is a change in consciousness and Six of Swords is a journey in consciousness or a transition. Life changes here. Six of Swords is leaving; Judgment is coming back.

.

. Hanged Man and Judgment together are a season of epiphany: They are both awareness, are both that sudden awareness from another dimension. This epiphany is represented by the angel from another dimension blowing the horn of big announcement loudly enough to wake the dead to new life, and everything changes in the twinkling of an eye. Judgment is the announcement, and Hanged Man is you ‘getting it.’ Together, Hanged Man and Judgment repeat a strong theme of otherworldly awareness coming to physical worldly attention.

.

.. Hanged Man and Six of Swords describe that moment of awakening, the eureka awareness, that makes a turning point in your life history and sends you on your way someplace else. Hanged Man and Six of Swords is the story of the all the people who just left when they realized (a Hanged Man favorite word) ‘this isn’t the place for me; it’s time I got out of here.’ Hanged Man and Six of Swords is the turning point, the very moment you disengage.

.

Hanged Man is taking in information and Judgment is emitting it, so Hanged Man is hearing and Judgment is speaking. This spread therefore describes any time you get a clue and make a change of direction in any way.

.

And, by the way, that journey Six of Swords is taking over water can be interpreted literally as ‘a trip over water.’ Also, an overseas trip. (And if the subject is travel overseas, Queen of Wands is the native country or home country. (You may find Six of Swords sending off someone on a cruise ship too.)

GUIDANCE   Wonder what my life would be like now if the family had not moved when I was in seventh grade, or if I had not married the gay fellow, or if I had gone to college, or if I had not moved from a few cities at the times I did: Who would I be, and what would I be doing? Ever wonder that? That’s what we talk about here today. Shifts. Changes. “You can’t go back home,” they say. Maybe your parents die before you realize how wise they were. Maybe you figure out you should have gotten mama out of your life before she wrecked your marriage … whatever. We have our periscope on *shifts past* today.

Do you want to know a little, or a lot, about how this Tarot Verbatim™ thing works? If so,

*Go to Learn Tarot by Observing section below. This tells about the combined meanings of the three cards in the pictures in the Tarot Readings.  It explains how these cards get together in your mind to make the messages. HERE ARE PHRASES FOR ALL THREE 2-CARD COMBINATIONS is a stream-of-consciousness bridge to your subconscious if you use it regularly – people report.

*Go to Learn Tarot by Pictures.  It is what each of the cards, by itself, has to say.  It shows you how that illustration makes that card’s meanings in today’s Spread. All the words of each Tarot card reading you see here are a phrase-by-phrase translation of the scene pictured on those cards: no filler, no psychic impressions, no spirit guide. Word-for-word Tarot Verbatim™.

You can put all this together and intuitively see yourself how Tarot Verbatim™ works.

This is a group reading, with no Questioner and no Question to limit what the cards say, so there’s more variety – even contradictions – than a personal reading would give you. Also, pronouns are flexible: If the sentence feels like it’s yours, and it says ‘he,’ but you’re a ‘she,’ well, it’s yours.

*AND if you write names of any two cards into the Google search bar, it will give you meanings of those!

.……………….………..………..

Four of Wands – Six of Swords – Judgment

.

LEARN TAROT BY OBSERVING

.

………………………   Both Six of Swords and Judgment are changes and are about going from one place, or one state of being, to another. The other card, Four of Wands, is where you are planted. So our story is obviously about changes and shifts that occur when we go from one place, or one state of awareness, to another. Judgment is about awareness or awakening, and Six of Swords is about improving a sorry state of affairs by moving on. So we’re moving today!

………………………..   Four of Wands regards where we are planted geographically and regards where we belong via our identity – via who we are right now, where our soul citizenship is. Today Four of Wands’ table-mates are moving on out, shifting, changing, and not belonging to its home base anymore. Four of Wands is marriage, family, Company, and political areas, so it is about affiliation – whereas both Judgment and Six of Swords have tickets out of that town. A society wedding indicates Four of Wands is about established order and the Establishment people.

………………………..  Six of Swords is when you move on, when the grass is so much greener over there that you leave here with the clothes on your back at the crack of dawn as the woman and child are doing in this illustration. It’s you escaping a mentality or a stifling atmosphere – a glass ceiling of any sort. Six of Swords is a change in life circumstances, a change that is hopeful because anything is better than what you are leaving behind. Repatriation of identity sometimes by death, divorce, eviction, abandonment – usually by a fairly involuntary change of circumstances: Those are our Six of Swords moments. Knight of Wands also is leaving, but the attitude there is ‘I’m outta here’ or ‘Getting out of Dodge,’ rather than the resigned twilight withdrawal you see here.

………………………..     Judgment is the call of new life, is a new phase due to a new awareness or perspective. It’s waking up to whatever you are dead to, so it’s really a new you. The picture shows the new you waking from the dead when the angel blows his horn and you’re alive in a new dimension. So Judgment is an internal shift – a new life of the soul and spirit, a breath of fresh air after the dank rot of that coffin.

Now we show where each of the phrases in each of the sentences comes from:

..…..

Tarot Readings: A Change for the Better (Six of Swords and Judgment)

Things have improved Six of Swords since I honked off Judgment at the family Four of Wands.

Things are looking up Six of Swords in our marriage Four of Wands – what a shift Judgment.

Things get better after Six of Swords (he) asks Judgment to marry Four of Wands (you).

I recover Judgment: I am one of the people Four of Wands who got over it Six of Swords.

..…..

I left Six of Swords and was on my way back Judgment home Four of Wands.

The news is Judgment, the Establishment Four of Wands is out of office Six of Swords.

The voters Four of Wands say Judgment they’re outta here Six of Swords.

The Company’s Four of Wands reorganization Judgment is underway Six of Swords.

The Company culture Four of Wands is going to be Six of Swords a big change Judgment.

..…..

Tarot Readings: I Don’t Belong Here Anymore (Four of Wands and Judgment)

Avoiding Six of Swords enlightenment Judgment to remain one of the clan Four of Wands.

It’s not the way it was anymore Six of Swords; people Four of Wands have changed Judgment.

Reminds me Judgment that I don’t belong Six of Swords here Four of Wands anymore Six of Swords.

What if I hadn’t done that or gone there? What if I had had the chance to get the education I really needed to do what I really wanted or preferred? What if hadn’t married that So-and-So? ‘If’ is a big word. We wallow in ‘if’ today, turn it around and let its facets glisten and cast glints on the walls of our psyche today. We are considering a new life, a new perspective, or we would not be gazing upon our ifs so intently right now.

.

Four of Wands ……….  Four of Wands is belonging, affiliation, membership and citizenship – the social structure of a given area, whether the area be marriage, family, neighborhood, nation or world, whether it be geographical, political, social interest – whatever … poker players of the world, unite. Four of Wands is The Way Things Are, the established status quo. It is your background, the family and the town and the culture imprinted upon you as a result of feet hitting ground in a particular place, time, and circumstance. It is the Establishment itself, as evidenced by that illustration of a society wedding between leading families of the Whatever.

.

Six of Swords  ………….  Six of Swords is you putting all that behind you and leaving for a place or situation that’s got to be better than this. If there was any drama, it’s long past. This is your bus ride out of the gulag. Six of Swords is, yes, about improvement – and is hopeful. But its mood is resignation, even numb despair. Watch for Six of Swords as ‘the departed.’ It will probably be accompanied by Five of Cups as *mourning the past* then. Of course, Six of Swords can also simply be about moving from one place to another, whether that’s moving to a new address or to a new city or state.

.

Judgment  ………….  Judgment is waking up to new possibilities, new life. It’s a perspective that comes by way of a sudden realization, a perspective that makes a shift in the way things are for you. Six of Swords too is about a shift in the way things are outside. Judgment is a notice, an announcement, a raised voice, an alarm clock, the backfiring of an engine, or a flashback within you. Judgment means change, return, go back. It is also regeneration, reminder, re-do … almost any ‘re-‘ word.

Tarot Readings for You for December 31, 2014 Wednesday©

Dec 30, 2014 by

GUIDANCE      Tarot is talking about New Year’s. Really. We describe the thoughts, the parties, the resolutions … all of it. It is saying things like ‘Just when I am getting over one, another one comes around,’ and ‘As we leave it all behind, we act silly and make loud noises’ – even ‘Maybe I can put the past behind and start over.’ So Happy New Year to you from Tarot!

.

Are YOU here for the first time? Come in!

People love this place! Our site is divided into four sections: Guidance, Tarot Readings, Learn Tarot by Observation, and Learn Tarot by Pictures.
If you just want your daily look ahead, Guidance and Tarot Readings are all you need. ‘Guidance’ (above) is a summary of what the cards are telling visitors to be aware of this day.

‘Group Tarot Cards Reading’ (just below this) is the actual word-for-word messages from the pictures of the three cards you see – to everyone. These readings are about you and the people around you.  They are about today and the days around it. So, go ahead and pick the sentences you feel are yours and decide whether to encourage or reject them for yourself.

Did you come here for your predictions? – You are done now – See you tomorrow. The family of commenters here would love for you to join in (the very last thing, at the bottom).

Tarot Readings: New Year’s party (Two of Pentacles and Judgment)

As we leave it all behind, we act silly and make loud noises.

Dress up and dance the old away, and then blow the horn.

A warning about traveling while tipsy.

Maybe I will avoid another New Year’s noise-making.

Maybe I will go out for New Year’s.

..…..

Tarot Readings: Beginning at the End (Six of Swords and Judgment)

It’s almost over and it’s almost starting up.

This is an ongoing story of getting out of one thing and beginning a fresh one.

Drifting into starting over one more time.

On the way out of the past, here comes another go-round.

Just when I’m getting over one, another one pops up.

Here we are beginning at the end again.

Out with the old and in with the new.

..…..

Tarot Readings: The Same Thing Over Again (Two of Pentacles and Judgment)

I am making the same announcement again about having a better life from now on.

One big announcement after another about what I’m not going to do anymore.

Going to avoid doing the same things over and over this time around.

Leaving it all behind again and starting over again.

..…..

Tarot Readings: Maybe Put the Past Behind (Six of Swords and Two of Pentacles)

Maybe I can put the past behind and start over.

We are getting over things as we are getting into New Year’s.

Avoiding all the slip-ups of the past, I am saying.

Leaving it all behind in the process of a new phase, a new life.

Phasing out of a disappointment and into a recovery.

Putting the dreary parts of the past aside and celebrating a renewal.

.

Now, Part Two,

Do you want to know a little, or a lot, about how this Tarot Verbatim™ thing works? If so,

*Go to Learn Tarot by Observing section below. This tells about the combined meanings of the three cards in the pictures in the Tarot Readings.  It explains how these cards get together in your mind to make the messages. HERE ARE PHRASES FOR ALL THREE 2-CARD COMBINATIONSis a stream-of-consciousness bridge to your subconscious if you use it regularly – people report.

Six of Swords – Two of Pentacles – Judgment

.

LEARN TAROT BY OBSERVING

.

……………….……………………     New Year’s and New Year’s party is one of Judgment’s meanings because of the horn and the fact Judgment’s main meaning is a new phase, a new life. Two of Pentacles chimes in with a cycle, going around one more time, dancing, being goofy, and tipsy. Six of Swords is putting the past, the old year in this case, behind. If I had hand-selected three cards to talk about New Year’s, I could not do as well as this.

………………………..     Six of Swords is leaving for a better time, a better place, a better life – putting the past behind and starting over. The illustration shows a mother and child leaving in a shallow open boat like refugees. It is both a melancholy and a hopeful card. ‘Tomorrow is another day.’ The mood New Year’s brings us.

………………………..      Two of Pentacles is about cycles and movement. So it tells of going through the same movements, the same cycle, repeatedly. It is also being goofy and doing silly things, wearing strange clothes – a dunce cap, even. You see a juggler with two balls or plates, dancing as he keeps them going. There’s the math sign for ‘repeated indefinitely’ around the items he juggles.

………………………..     Judgment is about a new phase, a new life, mainly: people alive again up and out of their coffins. It also means to recover, again, a re-do or another go-round (which Two of Pentacles means exactly). Then there’s the horn that wakes the dead – the horn we blow at midnight when the change takes place of a dying year and a live year.

……….…………        Six of Swords and Two of Pentacles     Six of Swords and Two of Pentacles mean the process (Two of Pentacles) of putting it behind you (Six of Swords). Leaving (Six of Swords) again (Two of Pentacles). Drifting out of (Six of Swords) one more time (Two of Pentacles). Leaving it all behind in the process of …. Avoiding (Six of Swords) another slip-up (Two of Pentacles). It’s almost over – Two of Pentacles’ ‘in the process’ mode combining with Six of Swords’ journey out of a place: There’s no arriving. We are also avoiding (Six of Swords) doing something stupid or silly (Two of Pentacles) again (either Two of Pentacles or Judgment). Maybe (Two of Pentacles) put the past behind (Six of Swords). Phasing out of a disappointment (Six of Swords) and into … (Two of Pentacles). Two of Pentacles is ‘in and out,’ so here we have ‘Out with the old and in with the new.’ Going to avoid (Six of Swords) doing the same thing over again (Two of Pentacles). Maybe (Two of Pentacles) put the past behind (Six of Swords). Leaving it all behind (Six of Swords) again (Two of Pentacles). Dress up and dance (Two of Pentacles) the night away (Six of Swords). x..

……….………….      Six of Swords and Judgment      Six of Swords and Judgment are putting the past behind (Six of Swords) for a new life, or for renewal (Judgment), and they also are leaving (Six of Swords) again (Judgment). Both of them mean a better life than in the past. Judgment means both ‘the new life’ and ‘again.’ These describe a New Year’s resolution: Judgment is the big announcement, and Six of Swords is to head away from where you are now. They say ‘not going to do that again’ by Judgment meaning the re-do and Six of Swords meaning leaving that behind, avoiding it. They say beginning (Judgment) at the end (Six of Swords).  x..

……..……………     Two of Pentacles and Judgment     Two of Pentacles and Judgment both mean ‘again’ and both mean ‘another phase.’ They say ‘keep doing it over and over’ or ‘the same thing over and over again’ because Two of Pentacles is ‘keeping at it’ and Judgment is a re-do. They also say ‘something stupid (Two of Pentacles) again (Judgment). (Six of Swords makes that avoiding doing something stupid again, see?) We did not use ‘I told you that was stupid,’ with Judgment providing ‘I told you.’ x..

Here we have an intense and detailed look at New Year’s, even including a warning not to drink and drive. We have a resolution not to do some dumb things we did last year, and making the same resolution again and again. Just when I’m getting over one, another one pops up, we say. Out of one phase and into another. Tarot is joining you in your thoughts about the day, and saying ‘Happy New Year.’ I say, ‘Happy New Year, Tarot.’

Six of Swords…….. Six of Swords is the times you had to just give up and move on. Six of Swords is starting over after you run out of gas. Being broke and leaving town for a better life. Going on with life after someone dies. Picking up the pieces when husband leaves you with a kid. Better times are ahead because it can’t get any worse. It is one of the cards that represents depression but its meaning is that things are improving, you’re on the mend, you’re getting over it, and the worst is over. A mother and child are huddled together, leaving town as dark falls, with the clothes on their back, being paddled away from there in a crude open boat. Sometimes the import and emphasis of this card is that friend who is helping them leave: A friend helps you out.

.

Two of Pentacles …………. Two of Pentacles You see movements here: back and forth, up and down, round and round, sideways, diagonally and even spinning. You see on and on, continuing. That makes cycle or cycles. You see over and over repeatedly. Two of Pentacles can mean any of these, or combinations of these. It makes odd phrases like ‘every which way’ and ‘any way but loose’ at times. You also see silly and goofy in his clothes, and of course in the dunce cap. He is performing, and he is dancing, so Two of Pentacles can mean these. The ships tossing on the waves behind him suggest ‘unstable’ and ‘instability.’ Two of Pentacles can mean dizziness, and can indicate a person or animal’s way of moving is abnormal, which appears sometimes in medical issues.

.

Judgment  …………. Judgment today is all about New Year’s, so many of its meanings are irrelevant here at the moment. Right now, the ones we are using are the fact that Judgment is a new phase, a new life, and means an announcement (resolutions), and the horn that will blow at midnight (hopefully not waking the dead). It shares the ‘again’ meanings with Two of Pentacles, and accounts for ‘pop up,’ ‘renewal,’ ‘fresh one,’ and ‘I am saying’ too.
