.

Star Watch for Star to appear in upbeat stories, and not in other types of spreads unless very heavily aspected by ‘bad’ cards. A shapely nude is singing as she pours two jugs into a ceremonial bath for a celebration at night. Star is feeling good, and therefore being in good health. Star means to be happy, to be crazy about, to feel good all over. Think of Star as singing in the shower and you have the vibe. In fact, Star does translate ‘good vibrations.’

.

Star is a performance, not just in music and singing, but any performance.

.

Star is a card-carrying member of the speech/tell/say clan. It is about making presentations, which grows out of the performance meanings. Star means things like: to promise, to chatter, to tattle, to tell all about, to talk too much, a pep talk, salesmanship, a voice, talk sweet, and to say your ‘I love yous.’ Star can translate ‘I love you,’ with any pronouns.

Fool Fool is the zero, which brings odd meanings like: to not be there, nothing, to be free, to be free of, don’t know, have no idea, ignore, never mind, not pay attention. Fool is the subconscious, and it means to assume. Keep in mind that Fool means both to assume and to not pay attention or not know.

.

Fool is free, and often translates ‘free’ and ‘freedom.’

.

Fool means to be young, which grows out of traipsing to the edge of a cliff lightheartedly. Fool means to clear the air because Fool is so clear of everything.

.

Fool is all over the place. Google ‘Fool Tarot Verbatim’ and click on as many of the entries as you have time for to have a comprehensive view of Fool – or read Fool and ‘Three of Pentacles Meets Fool in the Tarot Email training lessons.

Ace of Swords Ace of Swords is totally one way, uncompromising, and imperative. Ace of Wands is a very similar card, and you see them pairing up in a Celtic Cross spread, one in each sentence, often meaning ‘has to’ or ‘must,’ and watch it to also mean dominant and ‘must not’ because Ace of Swords is all about orders, commands, ultimatums. Ace of Swords is Number One.

.

The illustration shows a war victory. An upraised sword has a crown, and the crown is crowned with laurel leaves. So Ace of Swords is a battle or war, a challenge, a threat, a weapon, victory, winning.

Ace of Swords is about being emphatic, and being the most. ‘The most’ is applied very broadly, and can appear as the suffix ‘-iest’ attached to one of your sentence’s words.

.

Ace of Swords is to attack, but it also appears as a forceful self-defense.

.

.

. …..     ..

Star and Fool are feeling so good. Two upbeat optimistic cards that are ‘water off a duck’s back’ when it comes to anything serious. And there’s Ace of Swords, altogether too serious, a threat to all that good feeling and free flow.

.

Lesser meanings of Star and Fool make the stories in our sentences. Star is talking, a promise, a song, salesmanship, among other things. And Fool is to forget, to be free or free of, to be not interested or not paying attention, to assume, to be young, the subconscious, and to not worry.

. ….. .     .

AND NOW WITHOUT THE PICTURES

.

. ….. .     .

Star and Fool are feeling so good. Two upbeat optimistic cards that are ‘water off a duck’s back’ when it comes to anything serious. And there’s Ace of Swords, altogether too serious, a threat to all that good feeling and free flow.

And Fool is to forget, to be free or free of, to be not interested or not paying attention, to assume, to be young, the subconscious, and to not worry.

.

.

.

.

Being blissfully ignorant, this person is untouched by either threats or promises. The carrot and the stick don’t work on him or her because this maverick’s mind is on something else entirely. Being ‘out there’ insulates you from the goingson of planet earth. This is your invitation to tune in and tune out now.

Here is a list of things you must forget in order to be happy

Fool
Star, Eight of Wands, Ace of Swords

Good news, you are free from having to do all those things.
A long talk has totally cleared the air.
You weren’t there for all the talk about what you had to do.
So happy to be so free of all those imperatives.
Says you are in good health with no restrictions at all.

Forget about all the things you must do for good health.
Young and feeling so good you ‘got it licked.’
So young to have so many achievements to celebrate.
Declare you are a free spirit in every possible way.
Here is a list of things you must forget in order to be happy.

Forget all the things they tell you you have to do.
Forgot all the lines I had to say.
Ignore all the verbal threats.
You have to ignore the ones that talk fast.
Celebrate all the wins lightheartedly.

A lot of infinitely forgettable language/talk.
You gotta forget all those things I said …
All this rah-rah talk about freedom and victory.
They all have to talk about you when you’re not present.
Freedom of speech makes you talk.

Well, this is a breath of fresh air after the past few days!  ‘Mercury is Retrograde’ Stef keeps saying as if that means doomsday is here already growing roots.  We start with two Rider Waite Tarot cards that mean talk, Star (which also means feeling good and happiness and good health) and Eight of Wands (which also means one after the other, quickly, a list, ‘all those/these’).  The Fool means to be free, lighthearted, to be not present, to ignore, forget, or be oblivious, which echoes some of Star’s material.  And the Ace of Swords, in such good company, simply means winning, victory, totally, imperative, and ‘at all.’

Advice is ignore it all and just feel good … heck with all that stuff, the sun is out.  I second that motion.

Meanings and Illustrations:

Star: Happy, healthy, talking, celebrating, declare, to say or talk, they tell you …  This is the naked beauty pouring some liquid into the pond, presumably as part of a ritual of ablution (vocabulary alert:  ‘bathing.’)

Eight of Wands: Talk.  List.  One after another, more and more, so many, all the ___, talk or say, etc.
Illustration shows one after the other sticks flying in the air like arrows shot all at the same time.

Ace of Swords: Achievement, victory, must or have to, makes you/forces, totally one way or the other as in ‘infinitely.’  Illustration is the hand gripping the sword that has the crown of victory.  You win!

Fool: Lighthearted, optimistic, forget it, not being present, freedom, ignore.  Here’s that fellow taking a mid-day stroll, happy as a clam with his happy dog who seems will follow him off the cliff.

They have a constant awareness of what the other is thinking … it’s scary

Page of Swords
Hanged Man, Queen of Cups, Eight of Pentacles

They have a constant awareness of what the other is thinking … it’s scary.
Mental rapport between him and her over and over – how exciting.
He is aware of what she thinks of him, it keeps him on his toes about his doings.
She knows what he does for a living.  It turns her on
Mental work is intensely exciting.

She knows how exciting doing mental adventures can be.
He can tell, every time, when a woman is excited about him.
He realizes she knows what he is doing and panics.
Being a psychic is an exciting job for her.
It is her job to be aware of the hazards.

She knows how intensely nervous he is routinely.
Her job requires intense concentration and alertness.
He knows how intensely alert she is on the job.
She knows how intensely alert he is on the job.
She is aware that the things she knows about on her job are dangerous.

She knows and feels that her job is what makes her nervous.
She is afraid for her job, her antenna is up about that.
She is jealous of him, very aware of his activities.
He is jealous of her, very aware of her activities.
She uses her ESP on the job, defensively.

The Hanged Man and the Queen of Cups both mean aware and know.  The Hanged Man is psychic awareness, intense awareness, mental alertness.  The Queen of Cups know – knows her man, especially.  The Eight of Pentacles refers to job, activity – especially repeated activity – doing, routine.  And the Page of Swords is exciting, dangerous, adventure, defensive, jealous … all worked up about something or nothing.  It is interesting to have a male card and a female card that each mean mental activity and understanding another person receptively – especially when the next Rider Waite Tarot card means consistently, and the closing one means it’s exciting.

Advice is to be aware, to read other people, to be alert on your job, to sense what other people are thinking and feeling, to tune in to others’ thoughts, to be receptive, even to look for hazards.

Meanings and Illustrations:

Hanged Man: The thought strikes you, eureka style, thrown up from the floor of your subconscious into light of day.  That is what the illustration on the Rider Waite Hanged Man shows.  ESP.  Psychism.  Intensely aware.  To realize.

Queen of Cups: She is receptive too.  She is aware, she is thinking and knowing.  These two together and in psychic rapport.  She is the dreamy one, petting that grotesque antique she holds up.

Eight of Pentacles: This is the job, the worker, the routine activities of the mundane side of our lives.  Here we see the carpenter making one item after the other and hanging them up on his wall.

Page of Swords: He is not doing his usual duty here.  Today he is the excitement mostly, although he is jealous, defensive and afraid.  Illustration shows a very nervous fellow, weapon at the ready when the nearest mammal is miles from him, and he has an all-clear view of it.

He talks so politely to his bosses, it makes them feel powerful

Ace of Swords
King of Cups, Star, Emperor

Romantic Perspective:
He feels good all over, he feels in control of those feelings, he is a winner.
The man who is absolutely crazy about you is The Rock of Gibraltar.
This controlling man has got to talk sweetly to you, or else.
Here he is confessing his love like he is your honey – him, the lord and master of you!
He feels he has to be the boss but he is adoring you, spilling his guts.
Love has got the best of him, turned the controlling man into a pussycat
The affectionate man wins her heart over the powerful man.

Business Perspective:
The senior man orders the vice president around, a lot.
He talks so politely to his bosses, it makes them feel powerful.
High praise from the head man for the gentleman.
What the accountant says forces the president’s hand.
Oh, the reports you have to make to the federal government!

Bureaucrat tells you you have to comply, he is the supreme authority.
The bureaucracy announces the finalist, the winner.
He is a diplomat the way he softens the commander’s orders.
The junior man talks like he is the ultimate authority with the final say-so
Being emotionally insecure makes him talk like he is a VIP.

Two men are here:  The Emperor who is the commander, the controlling and possibly tyrannical authority; and the King of Cups, the gentleman, bureaucrat, vice presidential deferential fellow who can be an accountant and can be the affectionate companion.  The Star is between them:  a lot of talk, or confessing love.  Both the King of Cups and Star refer to affection.  Then over all is the Ace of Swords:  orders, force, and have to – the winner as well.

Advice seems to be to defer to authority, and seems to be that the man with the soft touch is the one who wins her heart over the man who would order her around.

Meanings and Illustrations:

King of Cups: Here is the Mild-mannered Man, the diplomatic man, the conciliatory affectionate bureaucratic pencil-pushing fellow.  He is shown surrounded by water which means emotion in Rider Waite as well as other systems.

Star: More water.  Gushing those emotions mentioned earlier.  Talking, confessing, reporting.  Picture shows, in Rider Waite, a naked figure pouring water or maybe perfume into a pond, probably to bathe.

Emperor: This is easy:  The rigid, constipated personality, the supreme commander.  Daddy, the federal government.  Shown is a rigid looking bearded one looking regal on a stone throne.

Ace of Swords: Makes, forces, orders, the winner, ultimate, total, have to, got the best of:  These are phrases the hand with the sword that has the laurel of victory crowning it suggest.

The company that is in a scary situation will be all right: Your wish is granted

Nine of Cups
Hierophant, Four of Wands, Nine of Swords

Business Perspective:
The company that is in a scary situation will be all right:  Your wish is granted.
The company made a big profit and is worried about looking respectable.
The company is worried about just looking profitable.

Other Perspectives:
The rich respectable members of the community are up nights over this.
Worries about being accepted by the community he wants to be a member of.
That organization wants more than anything to be respectable, and they are very nervous about this.
I am entitled to be rich because my family is, so I am very upset.
Everyone who wants a clean record has something to worry about.

Wants a decent house, agonizes over that.
Satisfied with a middle-class neighborhood
Up nights wishing he/she lived in a house that was in good shape.
This neighborhood keeps you up nights wishing you lived in a safe one.
Wants to own a home officially in his/her name, has fears regarding this desire.

Enjoys upsetting members of that church.
Wanting to be one of those upright people annoys you, doesn’t it?
Members of the church want to be in a building of their own:  This is the problem.
Really wanted to be a member of that church, and now look what happened …
The family wants him in a safe place, he is endangered.
Life is so normal in this place, he/she wants something to worry about.

Everyone in that family has a very high level of anxiety.
You are anxious but everything is fine, is the way you want it to be, with everyone in your circle.
Wants to commit to a marriage but is scared.
All wrought up about having the church wedding of his/her/their dreams.
Wants to be married in the church, and is so overwrought about this.

The only similarity in these four Rider Waite Tarot cards is Hierophant meaning ‘respectable’ and Four of Wands being the prominent members of the community.  Well, you could say the ‘wealth’ vibe of the Nine of Cups refers to the wealthy/prominent member of the community.  Hierophant is church or churchy and Four of Wands is a wedding.  Nine of Swords is fear/nervousness/dread/anxiety, etc.  (Do you remember some of these obvious cards by now?)

Advice, to me, would be to shed the fears that having to be respectable cause you.  There is a feeling or a suggestion that everything is all right regarding what you are worrying about, as well.

Meanings and Illustrations:

Hierophant: This card sits next to the leading families of the community here, so its ‘respectable’ spectrum of meanings is highlighted, along with its ‘churchy’ spectrum since the Four of Wands is an organization or building, as well as a family or families.  The pope is pictured, and this card also calls forth the idea of the official, on-paper reality, what is fit to print.

Four of Wands: Like I said, this is family, organization, any kind of group.  It is a building.  It can be a wedding.  That is what is pictured on the Rider Waite Tarot.

Nine of Swords: Worry, worry, worry, anxiety, up nights, fear and apprehension.  Oh, wah!  Up nights with the head in the hand.

Nine of Cups: Got it all, wealth, what you want more than anything.  In the picture, he ate the whole thing and he looks like he can believe it and is mighty satisfied with having done so.  See how it stands for ‘a high level’ even when the high level is of something NOT desirable.  That happens.  That’s how Tarot Verbatim™ works.Fleur.gif

Tarot reading 1-18-11

Without you doing anything, people will speak well of you – a perfect day

Ace of Pentacles
Star, High Priestess,  Ace of Swords

You tell all you know and you are absolutely correct.
You succeed, you have to present what you know enthusiastically.
You know you have to do it the way you are told, to succeed.
You know for sure you are right, and you tell them.
This woman is the perfect lady; you have to give her that recommendation.
We have to speak well of her, she is a rich/successful dame.
Her word makes it right.
This is the way it has to be done, she knows what she is talking about.
She talks a LOT; she just HAS to be right!
You have to keep your mouth shut when telling all would get you money.

Once again, a contrast:  Star means to talk; High Priestess means to be quiet, and also means expertise, deep knowledge.  Ace of Swords means ‘absolutely’ and ‘you have to.’  Ace of Pentacles is success, money and the right way.  So now you see how these four can be put together in other ways than I have listed here.
