GUIDANCE      The cost of having it all may be punitive to me when I really look at it. Everyone would get rich from the stock market if everyone were willing to study all those charts, figure out the moving averages stuff, and learn all that math night after night. To some people, the pain is worth the gain, and those are the people who have it all.

.

.

Three of Swords    Uh-huh, just look. Three of Swords is a ‘bad card.’ Three of Swords is when everything goes against you. But its meanings are so general that it ends up, in real life, to be a merely difficult card – and ‘difficult’ is one of its common translates. Today it’s in the company of Tarot fellows who take the edge off its blades. Today we see general unfavorable or hostile environments, being against something (including hating it), getting mad, having hurt feelings, pain, contrarian attitudes and approaches, fighting and arguing, and fighting for something, or doing something the hard way.

.

In Tarot Verbatim™, Three of Swords pairs up with Tower to be the two leading cards for divorce, and quitting or getting fired. Three of Swords combined with a husband or wife card make the pair refer to ex-wife or ex-husband, or to indicate said person is going through a divorce. Watch for this in romance inquiries as Tarot’s way to inform Querant the new person they met is going through a divorce.

.

Three of Swords is heartache, obviously, and grief, and aggravations of any sort. It can also be revenge, especially alongside Five of Swords, Seven of Swords, and a few others.

.

Page of Pentacles –   I. He. You. Him. To be. To think. To see. To know. The idea. What (whoever) has in mind. To feel. I am, you are, he/she is. What you think. To be the person who. To focus on. To consider. To be the type of person. Page of Pentacles is an identity card (hence the pronouns and ‘type of person’) and it means any form, any which way, of the think-feel-see-know words. It also combines those sets of meanings into any two. So Page of Pentacles can just say the pronoun (I, he, you, him, she) and it can also say the pronoun plus the verb (I think, he thinks, you think, or I feel, he feels, you feel, etc. ad infinitum.

.

A student. To be young. To look at or even stare at. These are some additional Page of Pentacles definitions. You see a person standing outdoors staring thoughtfully at the pentacle he holds before his face.

Nine of Cups –   We are used to thinking and saying ‘Your wish is granted’ for Nine of Cups because it reflects that feeling of pleasure you get when you have feasted and drunk to your heart’s content (and beyond, even) and are satiated, safunsified, satisfied, and pleased. As in the picture here.

.

But today we use eight different other meanings for Nine of Cups than that ‘want’ groove. One thing to keep in mind re Nine of Cups’ scope of meanings: it speaks of enough, being content and satisfied with what you have, and even being grateful for it; it speaks of wealth, pleasure, and ‘you’ve got it all; and it speaks of greed and excess and too much. Think Goldilocks: it’s okay; it’s just right; it’s too-whatever.

.

Nine of Cups also brings the idea of profit and benefit: it pays off, is worth it, or even more than worth it. The pain is worth the gain, we say today.

.

.

LEARN TAROT BY OBSERVING

                LEARN TAROT BY PICTURES..

.. …..       ….

Once again, we find a pattern of two opposite states or situations, and the card in the middle is neutral, is considering whether to. Three of Swords is when everything goes against you, and Nine of Cups is when it’s all going your way.

.

Page of Pentacles is in the middle thinking about it, feeling it, trying it on. Behind him is the downside, the difficulty, in Three of Swords. Ahead of him is the reward, is having it all, in Nine of Cups. If he does all that exercise, he will be a star in a ballet. If he goes to the trouble and rearranges his lifestyle, he will lose fat, gain muscle, and be pleased with his midriff. You know you have to fight for what you want, we say here.

.

Another story you see at a glance here (as an experienced reader) is someone who wants to ( Nine of Cups) fight or argue ( Three of Swords). Or he wants a divorce, of course. That’s what he has in mind ( Page of Pentacles).

.

I found less obvious stories – lots of them – for these three cards. Some of them are sardonic (amusing in a sarcastic kind of way). Examples: He knows how to please you and how to make you mad. You aim to please someone who’s the enemy. You get what you want, and it hurts. It’s a war zone, and you just want to think. Several more where those came from.

. …. ….. ……. ..

. ……. ….. ……. .     .

.

.

.

.…..………..

Taking stock of how pleased I am to be me, I see how it’s the difficulties that got me to this altitude. Setbacks are the reason I have enough to be grateful for now. From hindsight, pleasure and pain are opinions because one will cause the other (going either way) easily. With Goldilocks, I come to the observation that too much is as uncomfortable as not enough, and, by golly, things are just right around here.

Tarot Readings for You for October 19, 2016 Wednesday©

GUIDANCE         When I go all out for something I really want, whatever the pain or inconvenience it costs is worth it because the prize motivates me. It’s because it is difficult that I want it.

LEARN SINGLE TAROT CARDS BY PICTURES.

GET A SINGLE CARD’S MEANINGS: TYPE ITS NAME AND ‘TAROT VERBATIM’ INTO GOOGLE

.

Three of Swords Don’t have to tell you Three of Swords is ‘a bad card,’ do I? Heartache, heart trouble, hurt, pain, cut with knives: those are immediately apparent. Keep in mind that the ‘cut or pierced with knives’ includes surgery, acupuncture, etc. Another off-label use for Three of Swords is bad weather: Once it helped indicate a tornado during a job interview. The storm clouds behind the drawing bring that in.

.

The ‘bad weather’ expands to include hostile atmospheres and whatever ‘goes against the grain to make life difficult: adversity. Along these lines, Three of Swords can mean damage, since, well, that heart is damaged.

.

The most common words for Three of Swords are these: divorce or separation; rejection (of anything, any way); quit or being fired; fight; hurt; pain; hurtful relationship; feelings of hurt and pain.

.

Three of Swords also translates ‘against,’ and that’s a theme with a number of Rider Waite Tarot cards in it. Three of Swords goes so far as to mean hate and spite, and someone who’s an ‘aginner,’ as my daddy used to put it. This ‘against’ category, in Three of Swords, extends to ‘contrarian,’ which is also a type of investing. Shorting a stock is rejecting it, Tarot thinks, so Three of Swords is the card for contrarian investing and shorting stocks.

.

Three of Swords seldom means loss, but today Nine of Cups brings that word to Three of Swords in the phrase ‘capitalizing on losses,’ which is really ‘making the best of adversity’ in different words.

.

Knight of WandsHis picture shows him getting away fast. His horse is rearing (indicating things are out of his control) and he has a scared look on his face. But in real Tarot life, this card (like Knight of Swords, its twin) can mean either leaving or pursuing.

.

The main meanings for Knight of Wands are about speed (fast, fast progress, quick, hurry) and leaving (get out of, left, move out, ducked out).

.

Those same meanings apply without the ‘fast.’ So Knight of Wands is simply getting ahead, is going through, is getting on with it, or is ‘getting going,’ or avoiding rather than fleeing, or just moving (as in being transferred or moving out of town, or even just being on the road). Keep in mind this is the card for ‘over the road transport,’ as in deliveries or truck drivers.

.

Knight of Wands also applies to ‘with great energy’ and to motivation, as well. And remember I said he can be rushing in, rather than out, or just on his way in, or on his way to.

.

Nine of Cups And I don’t have to tell you Nine of Cups is ‘a good card.’ It’s as good a card as Three of Swords is a bad card. It’s as good a card as Wheel of Fortune. Nine of Cups is universally called ‘your wish is granted,’ and it means that in most decks – your dream come true. So Nine of Cups is your card for being rich, having it all, getting rich.

.

But Nine of Cups represents more minor satisfactions too (and ‘satisfaction’ is one of its favorite words, not used today). Watch for it to mean ‘enough,’ and to mean ‘gratitude.’ Watch for it to describe the way you feel when you receive the benefits (one of its words) it speaks of. These words are like: so glad, feel so good about it, makes you happy all over, enjoy and enjoying, the pleasure of; and watch for it to mean enjoy and enjoying.

.

Sometimes Nine of Cups just translates ‘want’ and its synonyms. Even then, there’s sometimes an implication that the ‘want’ will be satisfied. For example: ‘as (fill in the other card’s influence) as you want,’ and ‘brings you what you most want.’

.

There’s a profit motive to Nine of Cups too. Watch it say ‘is worth it’ and ‘capitalizing on,’ as well as speaking of making a profit.

.

P. S.: Nine of Cups is not only being pleased; it is wanting to please. (Not today though.)

.

.

.

.

LEARN TAROT BY OBSERVING

                        LEARN TAROT BY PICTURES..

.. ….. …     .

.

Three of Swords is when everything goes against you. But its meaning extends to merely ‘difficult’ and hence to long shots, unfavorable or hostile environments, contrarian attitudes and approaches (‘no matter what’ situations), and to fighting for something or doing something the hard way. It even means bad (‘inclimate’) weather, and it even means to simply be against something, or to have hurt feelings. So don’t be ascared of Three of Swords!

.

Three of Swords obviously is for more real suffering too: hurting, pain, heart problems, surgery, litigation, and general adversity and difficulties.

.

Three of Swords is also a member of the hate, fights, quarrels, feuds, war, injury and wounds club of Tarot meanings. It is also the main card for getting fired or quitting, divorce, and spiteful snarly nasty people. Not to mention: the enemy.

.

Nine of Cups is as much a ‘good card’ as Three of Swords is a ‘bad card.’ At his worst, Nine of Cups is excess and greed, and the ‘I got mine’ attitude.

.

Nine of Cups is the feelgood card, like Star is. We (everybody, really) call this the ‘your wish is granted’ card. Your dream come true card. I did it my way, and things are going my way, and I got exactly what I want … card.

.

Nine of Cups is satisfied, is pleased. Nine of Cups also wants to please. Nine of Cups is glad, too. It translates ‘benefit’ and ‘pleasure,’ and ‘feel so good about it.’

.

Nine of Cups means ‘enough,’ means ‘plenty’ and means ‘excess.’ See the nine empties on the ledge behind the chubby grinning figure? Think of this continuum as enough liquor, plenty of liquor that makes you feel good all over, and an excess of liquor.

.

In the same continuum, Nine of Cups means having enough, doing well, and being rich or even too rich. Nine of cups is into money too. Besides the obvious being rich shown in the picture, Nine of Cups means ‘worth it,’ profit, to capitalize upon, the return on investment, money for yourself which would be net profit, and ‘gain.’ The concept you find in commerce and financial planning of *capitalizing on losses* is here in real personal life.

.

So we have on the left things being pretty painful and a loss; and we have on the right things being pretty great and a gain: total contrast. In the middle is a neutral sort of card, Knight of Wands, whose main meanings are to get on with things, to be motivated, to get out of something, to rush or hurry, to move on out or be transferred, to avoid, to pursue, to get ahead, to be on the road, or over-the-road travel, and to be gung-ho with great energy.

.

The contrast between the good feeling and satisfaction of Nine of Cups and the bad feeling and disappointment of Three of Swords is our story and our message for this post. We have these ‘The gain is worth the pain’ sentences – a lot of them, and there could have been more. Just a few examples of the contrast: So glad you shorted that fast-mover. Got out of heartache. Enjoying the benefit of having gone through the pain. Get out of a bad relationship for your dream to come true. Just enough pain to motivate. A divorce makes you happy. You get out of hell like you want to.

. ….. .    .

AND NOW WITHOUT THE PICTURES:

You get out of hell like you want to.

. ….. .     .

.

Am I more motivated to make things as I want them to be when they are difficult, or am I more motivated to pursue what’s best when conditions are favorable? Sometimes a setback gives me this ‘Come hell or high water, I’m gonna get where I’m going’ attitude. Sometimes a potential reward or profit is all it takes to get me going.

.

.

.

.

LEARN SINGLE TAROT CARDS BY PICTURES.

GET A SINGLE CARD’S MEANINGS: TYPE ITS NAME AND ‘TAROT VERBATIM’ INTO GOOGLE

.

Two of Wands  is you when you’ve got it made. This is the picture of the feeling you get when your plan has gone well, and you’re making another plan on top of that. The man in the picture owns the town now, and is ‘on top of the world’ (on top of his mansion with the world in his hand). Two of Wands is in control; is Somebody, is respectable. Two of Wands is strongly associated with real estate, banking, bank accounts, financial planning, financial security, investing, budgeting, pension, and even ‘worth’ because the man owns the real estate below and is planning even more profit from it.

.

And Two of Wands is all about the future, so it is one of the cards that puts nearby cards into future tense.

Three of Swords  is hurting, suffering, pain, storms, heart problems, surgery, and general adversity and difficulties. And, yes, Three of Swords is your card of choice for hate, war, fights, quarrels, feuds, getting fired or quitting, and spiteful snarly people. Three of Swords is when everything goes against you. But its meaning extends to merely ‘difficult’ and hence to long shots, unfavorable environments, contrarian attitudes and approaches (‘no matter what’ situations), and to fighting for something or doing something the hard way. A good example of Three of Swords not always meaning something awful is ‘contrarian investing’ today with Three of Swords accompanied by Two of Wands.

Nine of Cups is as much a ‘good card’ as Three of Swords is a ‘bad card.’ At his worst, Nine of Cups is excess and greed, and the ‘I got mine’ attitude. We (everybody, really) call this the ‘your wish is granted’ card. Your dream come true card. I did it my way, and things are going my way, and I got exactly what I want … card.

.

Specific words and phrases produced by this simple concept are things like: mighty fine, enough, you cash in on; rich enough; wants to; the one I really want; getting exactly what you want; content; glad; wanting it all; enjoying life; is good; is good for you; pleasure; wanting to please, being pleased; producing a profit; gain.

Again we have the same pattern. Both Two of Wands and Nine of Cups are all about being prosperous. In the middle is the third rail card, that spoiler, Three of Swords. Three of Swords is heartache, hurt, painful experiences. Three of Swords is ‘no matter what.’

.

But this time, it was easy to find all sorts of sentences, partly because of Two of Wands’ handy-dandy ‘future’ meanings, along with the many contrasts between the satisfaction of Nine of Cups versus the difficulty or hard times of Three of Swords – the ‘no pain, no gain‘ sort of sentences. Sentences like ‘Even with hard times ahead, I shall be content’ and ‘My wish to be secure in the worst of times’ and ‘The odds are against getting rich from real estate.’

.

We end up with the reassurance that whatever the bumps in the road may be, we will make it home.

Tarot Readings for You for September 12, 2013 Thursday(c)

Sep 11, 2013 by

Guidance     “To be the best person, the person he wants to be, he decides to split with some associate.” That split could even be a divorce.   We are looking today into how the people we know get along or interact with one another, and what we may choose to do regarding that.  If one associate harms our reputation with someone who is in our VIP category, hmmm, we may choose to create a distance there.   If our friend is received at our work with open arms, well, he or she will go to the office party with us.

Are YOU here for the first time? Come in!

People love this place! Our site is divided into four sections: Guidance, Tarot Readings, Learn Tarot by Observation, and Learn Tarot by Pictures.

.
If you just want your daily look ahead, Guidance and Tarot Readings are all you need. ‘Guidance’ (above) is a summary of what the cards are telling visitors to be aware of this day.

So, go ahead and pick the sentences you feel are yours and decide whether to encourage or reject them for yourself.

Did you come here for your predictions? –  You are done now –  See you tomorrow. The family of commenters here would love for you to join in (the very last, at the bottom).

Now,  Part Two,

Do you want to know a little, or a lot, about how this Tarot Verbatim™ thing works? If so,

*Go to Learn Tarot by Observing section below. This tells about the combined four pictures in the Tarot Readings – the pictures above here.  It explains how these four cards get together in your mind to make the messages.

*Go to Learn Tarot by the Pictures.  It is what each of the four cards, by itself, has to say.  It shows you how that illustration makes that card’s meanings in today’s Spread. All the words of each Tarot card reading you see here are a phrase-by-phrase translation of the scene pictured on those cards: no filler, no psychic impressions, no spirit guide. Word-for-word Tarot Verbatim™.

You can put all this together and intuitively see yourself how Tarot Verbatim™ works.

This is a group reading, with no Questioner and no Question to limit what the cards say, so there’s more variety – even contradictions – and also the pronouns are more flexible. If it feels like it’s yours, and it says ‘he,’ and you’re a ‘she,’ feel free to adopt it anyway.

Nine of Cups
Chariot, Three of Swords, Page of Wands

LEARN TAROT BY OBSERVING

.

Chariot and Page of Wands and Nine of Cups are about success. That’s Chariot’s main meaning – getting that mission accomplished. Page of Wands is the good looking well dressed fellow with great prospects. Nine of Cups has everything he or she wants. Chariot and Page of Wands are both solid people who are respectable and successful.

Three of Swords is a spoiler (Imagine that.) here. It means to separate yourself from someone or something, dissociate, divorce, reject. It means adversity and hostility and to be against something or someone – even to hate.

LEARN TAROT BY PICTURES

.

Chariot has arrived, has a skill and is expert at using it for a purpose, so he is ‘going places.’ Chariot is a strategist who does what it takes to arrive at the place he wants to be. You can see how he is going to drive those steeds with nothing but his wand there. We know people like this, don’t we? Let’s be friends with them.

Three of Swords is when everything is going against, is the time of quarreling and separation, is adversity and hostility, is being in the wrong company, the wrong setting for you. The illustration is forthright: Gray clouds and rain storm behind a heart pierced with the three swords. Been there too, haven’t you?

Page of Wands
is the fellow with, as my daddy used to say, the clean nose. He is the ‘fair haired boy’ cliche. He is the well-dressed well-spoken fellow who plays tennis. He talks you into things. His daddy is successful, don’t you think?

Nine of Cups is having it all. Every time I see the illustration on it – of the pudgy fellow with the besotted look and the ten cups on the mantle – I think of the saying “I can’t believe I ate the whole thing.” It can simply mean to what, or what someone wants. It can also be about excess.

Our Daily Spread September 12, 2011 Monday ©

Advice is about the roles that both adversity and breaking off with people we are associated with play in our getting ahead and looking acceptable to other people, looking respectable. To please the people who are disposed to disagree with us, we should have ‘the look,’ the flawless look that indicates everybody else agrees with us. Advice also covers the fact that the look isn’t always enough for the long haul … that sometimes we dissociate ourselves from the successful, respectable handsome man.

Chariot – Three of Swords – Page of Wands

Is this the first time you come here? Well … what to do:

*Go to Daily Message Tarot Analysis below. One or more of those sentences has something to say to you. Pick those out. They are about you and the people around you. They are about today and the days around it. (It is a group message like a horoscope, except Tarot isn’t based on someone else’s birth data, so it can be specific, accurate, detailed and direct. Our experiment here is “How much more accurate is it?”)

*Go to Advice to apply what those sentences say (in the best way) for you. (Advice is everyone’s favorite part.) Did you come here for your predictions? – You are done now – See you tomorrow.

The Question for weekdays is: “Tell the visitors here something useful and meaningful to them. The Question for weekends is stated right on top on those days if there is one.

Without a question to focus the answer, four cards can mean contradictory things especially when the Spread has a card that negates other cards. Without a question also the pronouns in a group reading are more flexible, especially in some of these Rider Waite Tarot spreads. When a pronoun is in parentheses, feel very free to substitute. The question in a ‘real’ individual reading supplies at least half the information!

Now, Part Two,
Do you want to know a little, or a lot, about how this Tarot Verbatim ™ thing works? If so,

*Go to Meanings and Illustrations: Observation of the Spread section below. This tells about the combined four pictures in the Daily Spread – the pictures above here. It explains how these four cards get together to mean things.

*Go to Meanings and Illustrations: Individual Rider Waite Tarot Cards. It is what each of the four cards, by itself, has to say. It describes how that illustration makes that card’s meanings in this Spread.

You can put all this together and intuitively see yourself how Tarot Verbatim ™ works.

MEANINGS AND ILLUSTRATIONS:

OBSERVATION OF THE SPREAD

These are pretty much independent Tarot citizens with no theme … but Chariot and Page of Wands are both solid people who are respectable and successful.

Chariot is a success and Nine of Cups has what it wants and Page of Wands has the look. They play well together.

Three of Swords stands in the corner, as well it might, since it means to dissociate, to divorce, adversity, hostility, separation and so on. What is a bad looking guy like this doing here?

MEANINGS AND ILLUSTRATIONS:

INDIVIDUAL RIDER WAITE TAROT CARDS

Every time I see the illustration on it – of the pudgy fellow with the besotted look and the ten cups on the mantle – I think of the saying “I can’t believe I ate the whole thing.”
