Chariot Warfare changed with the invention of the chariot, and the men who operated them were very important people: strategists. The strategy concept is expressed in having the driver in our photograph wield a wand rather than reins, and have sphinxes pull it who were hitched in such a way they had no choice but to pull this vehicle where the soldier wanted it to go: ahead. This card in Tarot Verbatim™ often translates ‘choose’ and ‘decisive’ or ‘decide.’ Chariot is willpower, intention, aim, getting ahead, success, strategy, accomplishment, responsible person, leader who gets the objective accomplished. Ger ‘er done.
Four of Pentacles Our miser who holds onto his money has a secret about it: He is outside of town, ostracized, now, keeping his mouth shut. Hugging himself. Four of Pentacles is not enough or not much, shortage or insufficient, reservations or repressed, deep down inside or internal, holding back, hugging, without, to refrain from, to feel inferior, secretly, stymies or stifles, doesn’t admit, keeps quiet or doesn’t say anything, etc.
Lovers combines the Adam and Eve story with an angel overlooking a nude human couple, and throws in a volcano for good measure. We are not using the protection concept for this card today (but we could). Lovers is a connection or attachment, the two of us or partners, to contact or connect with, connection, together, equal or equal partners, teammate, on the same side, the other person, with you, and anything to do with love affair, love relationship, or lovers.
Five of Wands Five guys are jousting with logs, energetically whacking those logs together. It could be sport or exercise, or a fight. Five of Wands means being against, fighting, oppositional, quarrel, energy or energetic, trying (hard), effort, being combative or competitive or even violent, with all (his) might, gives it all (he’s) got, conflict, struggle, involved and actively involved, activity, exercise, exertion, resist and resistance. When it is the energy of momentum behind something, it can translate ‘fuels’ as in ‘fuels resistance.
