Why a Psychic Reading Should be the Whole Truth, not Just the Pretty Part
A young client was poised to jump from a ledge outside her window to kill herself because all her friends were doing so well and she was making up stories to keep up with them. I did not know she was on the ledge. I told her life is supposed to suck, that her friends were not doing any better than she, and were making up their prosperity/happiness stories to match hers just as she was to match theirs. You have to mine your own happiness, and handcraft your satisfaction with your life, she was told: It does not happen automatically.
The next day she called to tell me what I said made her go back into the window. Yes, I heard distant traffic noises as she was speaking in the middle of the night. I just didn’t realize which side of the window she was on.
There is such a thing as presenting such a false positive image of your life that not only are you out of touch with reality, so are the people around you.
