Devil
Rider Waite Tarot has the medieval myth-style Christian devil, but other decks (such as Marseilles) have a different perspective on Number 15, Devil. So Rider Waite’s Devil meanings tend toward the dark side, the downside, even the satanic side (what with the symbols of it so apparent). In today’s context, the middle-of-the-road unpleasant meanings are called upon. (Google ‘Devil Tarot Verbatim’ for a comprehensive view of this card.)
The other two cards are specifically about family or other group life, so Devil today represents trouble in those places, and people who are trouble in those places.
You also find the drinking man or addicted man, the weak man, the fellow who whines or is passive-aggressive.

Queen of Pentacles
Think of her as the Italian matriarch (wife of Italian Stallion, King of Pentacles), and you can pin most of her meanings. This Tarot card translates words like these, as a matter of fact: woman, mama, women’s, married woman, matriarch. Queen of Pentacles is typically a married woman who is family oriented – loyal and supportive. Queen of Pentacles backs her man, often as his partner in his business. Like Queen of Cups, Queen of Pentacles is loyal to her man – but Queen of Pentacles is more savvy, more worldly.
Queen of Pentacles can have the same relationship to her organizations as to her family: the loyalty, the backing, the devotion. She (like Queen of Wands) is often the manager, the one who runs some show.
Queen of Pentacles is associated with money as someone who handles it, who gives generously, who supports (family, cause, charity, anything). This is how she gets to be a bookkeeper (like High Priestess, who has a book in her lap).
Devil brings out the downside of Queen of Pentacles: Her vice is being possessive, taking too much care (fussing over her man usually), and being foully loyal – the ‘my kid can do no wrong’ mama.
Four of Wands
The picture here is the public wedding ceremony, so Four of Wands is all about marriage, being a couple, family, and marrying. It will translate ‘spouse’ which of course amounts to ‘husband’ or ‘wife,’ even while it also can mean ‘husband and wife.’
All the marriage cards in Tarot Verbatim do double duty as ‘house’ cards and ‘organization’ cards. So Four of Wands can be a public building (it’s a public official wedding we are looking at here, after all) or dwelling, and Four of Wands can be the Establishment – any level of government agency or territory (city, county, nation, international entity, court house, etc.).
Four of Wands is leaders of a community, the respectable people, the elite, and can be rich people per se.
As an organization, watch for Four of Wands to represent a hospital or treatment center, more than the other marriage/family/house/organization cards do – especially if there’s a card that means sickness modifying it (Devil).

Queen of Pentacles is the female head of family, and the manager of a company. Four of Wands is the family or the company. She is loyal, often too loyal (or too loyal for her own good – a devoted woman like Queen of Cups). Both Queen of Pentacles and Four of Wands are Establishment types, more likely to appear in a story about respectable people.
Devil therefore today is going to represent mainly ‘trouble in paradise.’ It is about the troubled family, the distressed property the lady puts money into, personal problems like vice, rudeness, the black sheep, militant attitude, addiction, disability, sickness, and a big mistake. It is an obstacle, something hated (or someone who hates), bad reputation (‘ill repute’), being wrong, a militant attitude.
Devil is a very general card. Look at it last because it can mean just about anything unpleasant. And its not-unpleasant meanings (which we don’t use here) are just as general. It can mean ‘physical,’ and it can mean ‘attachment,’ which may turn out to be a paper clip!
