.

Queen of Pentacles She takes care. She is a resource. She controls money and favors, and she can be the ‘woman with money.’ This is the matriarch of the clan, a leader woman whose loyalties are fierce and not necessarily well-founded. She backs. She mothers. She invests. She contributes. She cares. She is the caretaker (so is Hermit). She is generous. She supports the family. She may be a loyalist to a company, a political party – whatever. She and Queen of Wands are managers as businesswomen. You can think of Queen of Pentacles with a flag in her hand, and you can think of her as your supportive mentor-mama.

.

The Rock of Gibraltar she is not, necessarily. Queen of Pentacles can be histrionic (emotional, labile). She can be the problem mama whose kids can do no wrong. She can be political in a bad way.

.

Another thing you should know about Mrs. Queen of Pentacles (Mrs. because she is often a married woman with a family): She is talented, has skills, has the ability to (whatever). As a matter of fact, every once in a while, Queen of Pentacles will translate simply ‘she can.’ She is often connected to a business (could be a family business, or that she is the backer-partner of her man). She isn’t entrepreneurial like Nine of Pentacles. And she can handle (as Strength can) whatever it is your spread is talking about. She is the woman who care and who takes care, mostly.

Four of WandsWhat you’re looking at is the public celebration of a wedding by celebrity power people. Naturally, all these elements supply most of the meanings of Four of Wands. So we have: house, home, marry, spouse, marriage, and even wedding. Four of Wands represents home life.

.

By extension, you also have family, clan, relatives.

.

By further extension – since all the marriage cards morph into all the groups the human herd is susceptible to: them, people, the rest of us, government, homeland, community, neighborhood, and the whole mankind world.

.

Think of Four of Wands as both ‘us’ and ‘them.’

Page of Swords Adrenaline here. All kinds of elevated cortisol is what Page of Swords is all about. He’s hormonal that way. Think ‘perceived threat.’ His fear isn’t necessarily well-founded, which you can see in this picture of a guy whipping around, heavy weapon brandished, standing on a prominence in the flat ground that for miles shows nothing at all. So think ‘mad’ too. Page of Swords can be furious. Page of Swords can be that PMS feeling that … you just hope a mugger happens by.

.

Some words and phrases about this fear and this threat are: is very afraid, make nervous, defensive, endangered, so threatening, feels trapped.

.

So Page of Swords’ meanings tend to be divided between being a threat (usually a pain in the butt threat, like a jealous paramour or a pesky teenager) and being (or feeling) threatened. Reminds you of Seven of Wands, who is either mad-as-hell-and-won’t-take-it-anymore or is rigorously protesting his real or imagined entitlements. Page of Swords drives them crazy, or rubs people the wrong way.

.

A common application of Seven of Swords is stress. ‘Gets on my nerves’ is one of Page of Swords frequent-translates.

.

Page of Swords is also defensive or defending. Other cards tell you which, and how. Page of Swords is so on guard that this card can stand for a security job or for a security alarm system.

.

The ‘good’ meanings of Page of Swords have to do with excitement, even the pins-and-needles sort of anticipation of something good happening. Anticipation, challenge, all fired up, stirred up. Yes, Page of Swords can be turned on, but there are better cards for that. Put a frankly sexual card (like Ace of Wands) with Page of Swords, and you have sexual excitement.

. ….. .      .

Queen of Pentacles and Four of Wands first suggest the wife taking care of the family, managing its affairs and its money. Queen of Pentacles and Four of Wands also are about a woman who manages probably the money for a company ( a bookkeeper, a CFO, etc.). A third angle is a fellow who is defending himself against his woman managing his affairs. So we have stories.

.

Page of Swords is disruptive in most of its applications. Page of Swords doth give and doth take umbrage: He is annoying and/or he is annoyed. So he becomes the teenage rebel of the family, or someone who challenges the matriarch of the family, likely her charge of the money. Or he becomes a fellow who is very leery of ‘ a woman who can handle him.’

.

Another story is about a woman who is loyal to, and who takes great care of, the family, but she drives them buggy.

.

Yet another story zeroes in on Queen of Pentacles as investor, because that she is! In this spread she makes money investing (She is famous for that!) in companies ( Four of Wands is a company) that are high risk, that are in peril. (Shorting their stocks, maybe.) And since Page of Swords represents the jealous person (Just look at the pic!), Queen of Pentacles handles her jealous paramour so well.

.

Queen of Pentacles is the card for a woman with skill, a woman with talent, a woman who has the ability to handle whatever.

Then we hitch Queen of Pentacles to Four of Wands in such a way you are faced with the scary prospect ( Page of Swords) of a government ( Four of Wands) taking care of you ( Queen of Pentacles). If I remember right, President Reagan had something to say about this.

.

So many stories. We even delve into how a woman who has money drives her man nuts. ‘ Her man’ is Four of Wands as the spouse/paramour. (I been there and done that, twice.) But also he is fired up ( Page of Swords) to marry ( Four of Wands) a dame with money ( Queen of Pentacles).

.

Like I said: stories.

Looking at how resented a woman who is very skilled is when she is the care-taking type. In the Sixties, everyone has forgotten, Momism was invented: Everyone hated their mother, especially the guys (who also could not lower themselves to work for The Man) and mama was the villain in any story. Now the dark side of motherhood (made famous by Rosemary’s Baby, also long forgotten) is peeking at us. But there are other stories we are looking at too.

Tarot Readings for You for June 15, 2016 Wednesday©

GUIDANCE        As social animals, we tend to take a cue from the people around us. If they are uneasy or jittery, we too feel defensive. We let jealous people or neurotic people wear us down, and we take family goings-on personally. Tension is in the air for us to pick up on when a couple is warring. If we work for a company that is disliked, we actually take on a defensive stance. And we are uneasy around touchy people too. Today, we pay attention to this tendency of ours.

Four of Wands A society wedding is a public occasion here, as the business of all the people who are part of the, shall we say, tax base. So Four of Wands, besides being marriage and family, is about membership and belonging. In Tarot Verbatim’s™ Rider Waite interpretations, all three marriage cards also represent group life of humans, from the couple to family to neighborhood to city, county, state, nation, world and whatever else may be.

.

Today Four of Wands is marriage and spouse and wedding and the house as usual, and it is also ‘people.’

.

The other marriage cards that also represent human groups, clans and tribes are Ten of Cups (which shows a couple with two kids in a good neighborhood) and Ten of Pentacles, the negative one, which shows a family quarrel in what could be construed as either a good or a bad neighborhood.

Page of Swords You could call him free-floating anxiety, or ambient stress, or even idiopathic anger, but the short cut way to think of Page of Swords is ‘adrenaline.’ Because he is in an excited state for any cause: thrilled, jealous, anticipating, feeling threatened, on pins and needles, panic, being driven crazy, afraid, tension, taking something personally, being on the alert or on the lookout, antsy, edgy, angry, irritated, touchy, defensive, assertive, or caffeine jitters. Yes, this is the card for a hyped-up person.

.

Page of Swords is when you feel something’s up and don’t know why, and Page of Swords is when you are picking up the emotional disturbance in the air. Page of Swords is things going ‘bump’ in the night. And Page of Swords is the night before the big test, when you are studying like crazy, dreading, and nervous about the score.

Nine of Wands You are trapped in a situation that has already harmed you in some way, and you are hanging in there standing your ground as it constantly wears you down. Tension is constant and you are uneasy for some good reason that you just have to put up with and live through, or at least that is what you feel you must do: Nine of Wands is Alamo time.

.

Nine of Wands also comes up for being under suspicion, for being on the defensive as you are persecuted or harassed, and for being accused – for things like staying in an abusive situation. It’s also for real soldiers in real battles, and for wounded veterans, because our guy guarding that border has a head would. (Speaking of which Nine of Wands can speak of a head wound or headaches.)

.

.

LEARN TAROT BY OBSERVING

                      LEARN TAROT BY PICTURES..

.. ….. …       ..

A three-card spread in which two of them are near-identical and one is bland or neutral tends to be difficult to make more than a few sentences out of. This is such a spread. Page of Swords and Nine of Wands are both all about fear, anxiety, tension, apprehension, being on edge, being on guard, being on the defensive, feeling pressured, feeling very uncomfortable, antsy, uneasy and even touchy. Both Page of Swords and Nine of Wands feel threatened by ‘something out there’ and are holding their ground re that. And these are the main meanings of each.

.

The reason Tarot has these similar cards is to indicate a theme for a larger spread. When two of these twins meet up in close three-card quarters, you are going to have some fancy phrasing to do. Which, yes, we have done here.

.

Nine of Wands has a fresh wound from his battle with something. He dreads the thing that hurt him coming back, but he is there holding his ground despite the fear. The card applies to emotional wounds most of its practical real-life Tarot spread life, but the picture shows a wounded soldier still on duty guarding the fort, hanging in there and sweating it out. Note there is no expectation of winning in Nine of Wands, only a hope of surviving. Note also Nine of Wands is long-term, chronic, unremitting.

.

Page of Swords has two main applications. One of them is similar to Nine of Wands, and that’s the one of being fearful of the unseen, of things that go ‘bump’ in the night. Page of Swords too is on edge, pressured, and dreading what next.

.

But Page of Swords is also the nerved-up-for-no-reason annoying neurotic, the pest, the irritating irrational around you. He tends to hang out with Seven of Wands as the mouthy mooch who intends to annoy you into doing (or not doing) something. Page of Swords is not a grownup, not the seasoned veteran we see in Nine of Wands.

.

So who’s the third element to complete this picture? – Four of Wands. Four of Wands is just other people, from a couple to a family to a neighborhood, and on out to any size group of people that has something in common – maybe something as inconsequential and random as a border. Four of Wands is ‘us,’ ‘them,’ ‘people’ and ‘those people’ or ‘that company’ or ‘that family.’ Today it represents both the people or company that is the source of the .. angst the other two cards represent, or is people who are feeling that .. angst.

So today’s message is a reminder that things around you can affect you like a virus on a doorknob does, and not to catch the dis-ease emitted by ... disturbed fellow humans.

Some days and some people get to you, often people who aren’t really part of your story who want you to be part of theirs for no good reason. Mr. Gulliver had that problem, if you remember, in Lilliput. It’s a constant grinding letdown trying to live a life that makes sense among people who do not. (We salute you.)

Advice  Attachment to our foundation (be it ever so despised, even) is fundamental.  When we leave a place we have lived, worked, loved or even been sentenced to, emotions take over.  Anticipation of progress in the place we are rushing into is exciting, especially when the impetus of getting out of a sad scene fuels the anticipation.  New life and old life occupy the same space for a while.

Is this the first time you come here? Well … what to do:

*Go to Group Analytical Tarot Reading below.  One or more of those sentences has something to say to you.  Intuitively pick those out and decide whether to encourage or suppress them.  They are about you and the people around you.  They are about today and the days around it.  (It is a group message like a horoscope,  except Tarot isn’t based on someone else’s birth data,  so it can be specific,  accurate,  detailed and direct.  Our experiment here is  “How much more accurate is it?”)

Did you come here for your predictions? –  You are done now –  See you tomorrow.

Without a question to focus the answer,  four cards can mean contradictory things,  especially when the Spread has a card that negates other cards.  Without a question also the pronouns in a group reading are more flexible,  especially in some of these Rider Waite Tarot spreads.  When a pronoun is in parentheses,  feel very free to substitute.  The question in a  ‘real’  individual reading supplies at least half the information!

Now, Part Two,

Do you want to know a little, or a lot, about how this Tarot Verbatim ™ thing works? If so,

*Go to Learn Tarot by Observing section below. This tells about the combined four pictures in the Daily Spread –  the pictures above here.  It explains how these four cards get together in your mind to make the message.

*Go to Learn Tarot by the Pictures.  It is what each of the four cards,  by itself,  has to say.  It shows you how that illustration makes that card’s meanings in this Spread.

You can put all this together and intuitively see yourself how Tarot Verbatim ™ works.

Say hello back!  Comment!  I spend two hours a day or more writing these to you.  Remember to share your experience about our experiment here if you have words for it.  Read others’ comments.

And you can call me at the 800 99 3 6 9 12 number from Eastern 1 p. m. to Eastern 1 a. m. at least, every day.  (3-6-9-12 like a clock.  It makes a pattern on the phone as well –  easy to remember.)   I analyze business situations and personal relationships accurately from both Tarot and practical perspectives.  You enjoy it.  (Testimonials are on the web site.  https://EmilysInsight.com.)

LEARN TAROT BY OBSERVING

The story of leaving a place (home, marriage, business, house, company) in a hurry, upset by a loss hits you in the face in this spread:

Page of Swords … Upset …
Knight of Swords … leaving …
Five of Cups … a failed …
Four of Wands … marriage.

Page of Swords, upset, jittery, nervous, threatened … and excited. Knight of Wands, fast progress, moving out of town, being in a rush, pursuing or leaving.  Five of Cups, sadness, loss, wishing I hadn’t. Four of Wands, home, marriage, business, house, company.

But then you see ‘excited to move’ and ‘exciting progress’ – Page of Swords + Knight of Wands.  And ‘pursuing marriage,’ Page of Wands + Four of Wands.  So we are talking about a transition – about going either way, (depressed to leave, excited to pursue).  (Have you noticed we often do that? – things go either way?)

The star card here is Four of Wands as the home, marriage, business, house or company our lead character (you?) is either chasing after or running away from.

LEARN TAROT BY THE PICTURES

Page of Swords Beset by paranoia is he: There he stands on a grassy knoll, whirling around with sword in air and hair flying and nothing is seen for a mile in a circle. Upset, jealous, jittery, afraid, wrought up and excited.

Knight of Wands shares this hyper-alertness. He is fleeing or pursuing full speed ahead, his club brandished and his clothes flying. He is moving, making fast progress.

Five of Cups wishes he had … or hadn’t. The past is haunting us here, and we have experienced a loss that hangs over us like a fog. Spilled wine, and our back is to wine that is left. Mourning and grief.

Four of Wands Our foundation – home, marriage, business, house or company – is an attachment even if we leave it in disgust. We tend to run back there, especially during or after a loss. Illustration here shows a society wedding which is foundational to a community.
