Hermit Eight of Swords

Tarot Readings for You for September 15, 2014 Monday(c)

Guidance    Offenders have too much of that instinct that I don’t have enough of when I don’t have the guts, the daring, for an adventure. We are staring this truth in the face right now. We go into how friends help me have the nerve I lack, and how missionaries go to prisons to enlighten those too-adventurous and too-gutsy inmates. Looking for ways to limit the risk – and to have the nerve – is a big concern of ours today!

Enough evidence to put this criminal in jail.

The fact is, he is in jail for a crime.

A criminal can’t be made honest.

He’s a criminal; he can’t be honest with you.

He can’t be honest and can’t be dishonest either.

You can’t help a self-destructive person.

Now, Part Two,

Do you want to know a little, or a lot, about how this Tarot Verbatim™ thing works? If so,

*Go to Learn Tarot by Observing section below. This tells about the combined three pictures in the Tarot Readings – the pictures above here.  It explains how these three cards get together in your mind to make the messages. HERE ARE PHRASES FOR ALL THREE 2-CARD COMBINATIONSis a stream-of-consciousness bridge to your subconscious if you use it regularly – people report.

*Go to Learn Tarot by Pictures.  It is what each of the three cards, by itself, has to say.  It shows you how that illustration makes that card’s meanings in today’s Spread. All the words of each Tarot card reading you see here are a phrase-by-phrase translation of the scene pictured on those cards: no filler, no psychic impressions, no spirit guide. Word-for-word Tarot Verbatim™.

You can put all this together and intuitively see yourself how Tarot Verbatim™ works.

This is a group reading, with no Questioner and no Question to limit what the cards say, so there’s more variety – even contradictions – and also the pronouns are more flexible. If it feels like it’s yours, and it says ‘he,’ and you’re a ‘she,’ feel free to adopt it anyway.

Hermit – Eight of Swords – Seven of Swords

LEARN TAROT BY OBSERVING

.

……………….…………………...   Today’s spread is yet another example of how the dastardly cards can make friendly meanings. Eight of Swords and Seven of Swords are not to be taken lightly even in a 13-card spread. In a three-card spread … gulp! But not to fear: Hermit is here – he, the friend who helps, the healer, the patient and wise counselor.

……………………….. Then we remember to look for the peripheral, ancillary, minor, meanings for the baddies – like Seven of Swords meaning ‘the nerve to pull it off’ and ‘guts,’ and don’t forget ‘adventure.’ Risk is another of its conservative meanings. Well, there’s also ‘sneaking around’ or ‘breaking a rule’ too, and even ‘gets around.’ Seven of Swords describes a loophole, and a getaway – as in getting away with it. Trespassing and violating a person’s defenses are occasional meanings.

……………………….    Right off the bat, you see Eight of Swords, the lead death card – and it means helpless, no choice, boxed in, can’t, and prevented.

…….…………….…      Eight of Swords and Seven of Swords – with Seven of Swords, the lead criminal activity card, also meaning double-cross, thief, and assassination. Assassination, or mere major treachery linked to death, disability, being unable …. Be still, my heart!

………………………..    But the wise healer, the objective view, the supportive friend, the helper, has come. Welcome, Hermit – we need you right now! Hermit is reminding us that …

…….…………….…     Eight of Swords and Seven of Swords … Eight of Swords and Seven of Swords combined say ‘locked up criminal.’ And he, Hermit, the counselor, the missionary, goes to see those in need. So our friend Hermit, the supportive buddy, is here to take over and calm the situation.

.

.

Caution and daring should counterbalance one another, lest we get stuck. We picture a helpful counselor-type friend encouraging a person to dare, and we see the same type of person as a missionary to prisoners to encourage them not to. Sometimes we need both wisdom and guts, or we are stuck. We talk about the risk, looking for ways to limit risk, finding ways to prevent crime, finding a loophole around an impasse, getting around even though we are disabled. We talk about people who are self-destructive, who seek to die in some adventure, and people who feel death is the adventure. The whole dissertation here suggests finding a happy median.

Hermit ……… Quite a few branches to Hermit’s meaning tree. They grow out of his whole story, which goes as follows: Monks from isolated churches go out at night looking for travelers to bring them to a safe warm place where they can eat and bed down comfortably. ‘Service’ and ‘contemplative’ are the divisions to Roman Catholic clergy, and ‘service’ meant things like Hermit is doing. Pictured is an older man. Hermit is a doctor (healer, medic, physician) by his garb in the illustration. Here are those meanings that arise from this story: old man, friend, celibate or monogamous, comes to help, comes, investigation, discovery, wisdom, knows, counselor, on the road, light/flashlight, night/darkness, journey by foot, search, search at night, quest for truth, missionary, physician/healer/medic/doctor. Hermit represents paramedics since he is a doctor who comes to you. Hermit also translates ‘Be on the lookout.’

.

Eight of Swords………. You see a woman blindfolded, tied up (not too well), surrounded by swords, in a swamp. There’s a home in the distance. This card operates as the actual lead death card in Tarot Verbatim™. Meanings are determined by what cards meant in thousands of questions in which the answer was known, and not all of the meanings are what you would choose – which is the beauty of Tarot Verbatim, and why it works so well. Eight of Swords’ most common translation is ‘can’t.’ It means boxed in, helpless, limited, prevent and prevented, stymied, no way to, ineffective, restrictions and restricts, no choice, no choice but to, handicapped or disabled, trapped, and a suffocating environment. You find it meaning being in a strait jacket or ‘in the box’ or even being dead to something.

.

Seven of Swords………. shows a daring fellow who is disarming the enemy, stealing its weapons in broad daylight. He is hotfooting it out of there, carrying the swords by the blades, which is what makes him mean ‘self-destructive.’ So Seven of Swords means daring, guts and gutsy, adventure, risk, sneaky, stealth, criminal, thief, getaway and getting away with it, pulling it off, a mission (and a dangerous mission), danger. It also means things like loophole, trespassing, violating a person’s defenses.

Tarot Readings for You for January 28, 2014 Tuesday©

Guidance      Precautions:   Our topic.   You know how some people won’t sit with their back to the door in a public place?  Our focus today is on knowing … keeping your eye on … ways out, escape routes, of whatever you are into.  When they say it can’t be done, this knowing ahead of time is what makes *you doing it* – and doing it on the spur of the moment, unexpectedly – an actuality. Tarot makes the point that precaution is patient honest wisdom (as opposed to paranoia).   Knowing the road hazards and escape routes are common sense survival mechanisms.

Tarot Readings: Look at Things (Eight of Wands and Hermit)

My view is of things I can change and things I cannot.

Leave without notice when you determine there’s no other way out.

I see how I can turn some of these impossibilities around.

Calmly change one thing at a time when you feel trapped.

Keep looking for ways around the dead end.

Be patient on your path: Things done in a hurry are dead ends.

Looking at all the places I cannot go back to.

Tarot Readings: Things that Can’t Be Done (Eight of Wands and Eight of Swords)

One sudden forceful action after another where you just cannot be patient about it.

Look at the list of what is impossible to change them one at a time.

Honestly say ‘I can’t do that,’ and get the heck out.

I see how I keep running into dead ends.

When ‘they’ tell you you can’t, the truth is the opposite.

I got myself into this fix so I’m looking for ways to get myself out.

You can do some of those impossible things if you already know how to, and do them quickly.

I observe and conclude some things really cannot be changed.

Tarot Readings: Telling the Truth (Eight of Wands and Hermit)

Telling the truth gets him out of jail.

Find the list of facts they cannot contradict.

They can’t tell the truth, and that turns things around immediately.

Observe people run from you when you keep telling the whole truth!

Tarot Readings: Look at ‘the Box’ (Hermit and Eight of Swords)

Find the boxes in order to see your way out of them.

Now that I am out of there, I can see ways I was limited.

There’s no end of boxes a sincere person has to bypass.

I’m looking at all the ways out of where I’m stuck here.

Being honest limits the number of ways to do things quickly.

The fastest way just cannot be the wisest way.

Just knowing all these things can’t change them.

Eight of Swords

Knight of Swords – Eight of Wands – Hermit

LEARN TAROT BY OBSERVING

Knight of Swords and Eight of Wands Both Knight of Swords and Eight of Wands are fast or quickly. While Knight of Swords is about actions being done fast, such as turning something around in a hurry, speeding past and so on, Eight of Wands translates as words that mean quickly or fast, and apply uniformly to the same thing being done (or contemplated, or whatever) over and over (not a turnaround from one thing to another, in its own meaning).

Eight of Wands often translates as the modifiers of words – modifiers that make the word plural or make it mean ‘more’ or ‘moreso.’ It also alters the meaning of a nearby translation to say ‘repeatedly’ or ‘one after the other.’ It means a list. It means communication, written or verbal: tell, say, testify, keep saying, texting, documents … probably even smoke signals. It is a problem child to the reader, in Tarot Verbatim™. It often means more than one thing in the same sentence, too.

Knight of Swords and Hermit Knight of Swords is fast and Hermit is slow. Knight of Swords is impulsive and immediate; Hermit is deliberate and gradual (usually).

Eight of Wands and Hermit Hermit knows the way, and Eight of Wands is all the ways. Together, these two in Tarot Verbatim™ say: know all, know how to quickly, looking at all the possibilities.

Eight of Swords means limitation, impossibility, being trapped, ‘in the box.’ It often translates ‘can’t’ whether that word is applied literally (You can’t do that!) or actually (a real impossibility).

Eight of Swords and Hermit Eight of Swords means ‘no way’ and Hermit knows the way, and …

Knight of Swords and Eight of Swords … Knight of Swords gets away fast. This is the basis of our message today: Knowing the escape routes when you are boxed in. And of course,

it’s that pesky Eight of Wands that makes the escape routes plural.

Knight of Swords is about haste and speed and emergencies. Getting out, turning around, pursuing are its main actions. Energetically. ‘Damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead’ is Knight of Swords’ world view. The illustration shows an armed knight in hot pursuit, weapon raised.

Eight of Wands has a few major trunks to its tree of meanings. Today it is making plurals in the sentences, of the other cards’ words; it is a list; and it means talking, telling and so forth. We also make use of its ‘quickly’ category of meanings. Those are its main categories. Illustration shows sticks flying through the air.

Hermit A monk late at night on the trail in the snow looking for travelers to help. He is sincere, honest, down-to-earth, patient and wise, and he is coming to and looking for. Those are the meanings we use today: He isn’t being the helpful friend or the doctor right now.

Eight of Swords is boxed in, as you can see in her illustration. This is the card for you when you feel helpless about anything … but her ties and her blindfold is loose, like the chains in Devil. It stands for predicaments like that, and often translates ‘can’t.’ Other of its words are blocked, impossible, trapped, dead end, a fix, and limited.
