GUIDANCE        The old man is always walking through the neighborhood, on the way home after a day’s work. He stands out in a crowd as someone who gets along at work and at home, with his warm and caring ways, someone everyone is happy with. A calm older man in whose presence everyone unconsciously sheds their issues, a Mister Rogers sort of guy who is the helpful friend. We are watching him today.

HermitAn old man is on foot in the snow on a dark night. He carries a lamp to find travelers who could use his help. He takes them back to his hermitage, his monastery where he lives. All the characteristics of his story make meanings for Hermit and more. I will give the full account, quoted from a previous post, at the end of this.

.

Hermit comes to the aid, helps people, is sincerely warm and caring, a helpful and devoted friend.

.

Hermit is all about looking for. The lamp is all about seeing. Hermit applies to investigating, watching, witnessing, inspecting, and even surveillance.

.

Hermit is walking, is on a trip, is on his way. He can be about a journey or a trip. Today he is ‘walking distance’ even.

.

This is an elderly man, and Hermit (along with Emperor) can be an elderly man or person, or elderly people.

.

As a monk, Hermit applies to all sorts of virtues. Today he is sane, honest, sincere, calm, wise, caring, and patient.

.

Some other things Hermit represents are: to know, night, the night shift, and a medic or doctor – because Hermit’s robe are what doctors wore back in the day.

.

And now I reprint here something I wrote in a past post because it’s pithy and memorable:

.

Hermit – You put a story together about an elderly monk who is a doctor who goes out on frigid mountain passes at night with a lamp to locate travelers, help them, and treat them to a warm bed and hot meal, and you have a lot of elements you can apply to your Tarot story. He is on the road, on a trip. He is also a guide, and a wise counselor. Hermit is sane, rational, logical. This card applies to objective and realistic perspectives.

Let’s talk about the meanings he uses in today’s story, shall we? He is an old man, so ‘elderly’ belongs to Hermit. He is helping people, is devoted. He is out looking, which covers ‘search’ and looking or watching, and which expands to ‘investigation’ and inspecting.

He is on foot, which brings you ‘pedestrian’ at times, and which also expands to ‘comes to’ – being the person who comes to another person. It is night time and he has a light, which brings any night scene, the word ‘night,’ and its synonyms, and also phrases about a flashlight or other light. (For instance, Hermit with Chariot can be night driving, or even the view from a car’s headlights.)

Hermit is a monk, so it can interpret as characteristics of a religious, including such virtues as: patient, calm, devoted, honest, values, and chastity (not being sexual) – which, these days, turns into being true to a lover, being straight, etc.

Hermit is also a friend, which grows naturally out of doing things for people – a helpful friend, a devoted friend.

Hermit is an old man, so this is the card for elderly man or men, or elderly people.

Not today, but Hermit is the main card for doctors and other medics. His clothes designate him as a doctor in the Middle Ages.

You know how people call someone who keeps to himself and minds his or her own business a hermit? Well, I can’t remember this card ever stepping up to that plate, but maybe you will live to see it? (There are several other cards that perfectly describe the mind-your-own-business homebody lifestyle, so Hermit doesn’t need that designation.)”

Eight of Pentacles Today we use the three main meanings for Mr. Eight of Pentacles: (1) constant, steady, and always; (2) job and work; (3) increasingly and ‘more and more.’

Ten of Cups You see the couple, the family, and the neighborhood in this picture. And those are the major Ten of Cups headline meanings.

In Tarot Verbatim™ it is one of three marriage cards, and each of those represent any kind and any size of group of people. Ten of Cups concentrates on good guys and good groups: it even means happiness, getting along, people you know like and trust: your community or their community. The well-adjusted people (but I hate that phrase). It translates ‘everyone’ too.

.

Ten of Cups is family, home life, family members, family reunion … and one big happy family. So it can be a good family relationship as well as a good marriage.

.

Ten of Cups is the neighborhood card, and one of the cards for single family home as real estate. The house, especially the house in a good neighborhood of course; and Six of Cups also means just that. It can be a building once in a while, as today when you have the inspector, and a job inspecting houses.

LEARN TAROT BY OBSERVING

                LEARN TAROT BY PICTURES..

.. ….. …          .

Here are three normal-everyday-life Tarot cards, nothing esoteric. Can you see Hermit as Mr. Rogers and Ten of Cups as the neighborhood? – and Eight of Pentacles as ‘that’s what he routinely does’?

.

Eight of Pentacles is work, and Ten of Cups is home, so you think of working at home. And Ten of Cups is happy, so you think ‘ Happy at work.’ Ten of Cups is everybody, or a group of people, or a family, so ‘ Everyone at work’ or ‘ Working for family.’ Ten of Cups is marriage, so ‘ Working on the marriage.’

.

There’s no threat or drama to the stories these three cards tell. Hermit is looking, and Eight of Pentacles is doing the same thing over and over, so the subject of their stories tend to be Ten of Cups, which is happy, prosperous, and normal. The End.

AND NOW WITHOUT THE PICTURES:

Tarot Readings for You for July 20, 2015 Monday©

GUIDANCE     Some people are just hotblooded, and some people are cool-headed. When they’re good, they’re very very good, those impulsive maverick types, and like good wine, they often improve with age. They vicariously liven up other, saner, people’s lives. There’s nothing like a hothead who is sweetly in love: Ask any girl who is the sober one at a party with her wild man. If you are the angry type, you should know how to confess and make peace: People love the disarming charm of that. As to spiritual life, it’s his feelings that put him on his right path – he is a feeling kind of guy.

Hermit – King of Wands – Star

.

LEARN TAROT BY OBSERVING and

                LEARN TAROT BY PICTURES

.………..………. .……..…….. King of Wands and Hermit are opposite type men. King of Wands is ‘fiery’ in astrological or Middle Ages lingo: passionate, hot-tempered, impulsive, uninhibited, reactionary, irritated, touchy, angry, frustrated, irritated, rude and opinionated. King of Wands is a hands-on and black-and-white kind of guy, an able-bodied workingman, a married man, an energetic doer. King of Wands is Archie Bunker. King of Wands is the common, even lowbrow or crude or chip-on-the-shoulder fellow.

Hermit is calm, patient, objective, understanding, helpful, mature and self-controlled, kind. He is educated – a physician, in the illustration – is elderly, and not sexual (monk). So you could say he is not a married, but a single, man – a loner, even. Hermit is the civilized, polite, wise man. King of Wands is the physical, hands-on able-bodied workingman, and Hermit is retirement age. King of Wands reacts; Hermit analyzes. King of Wands is confrontational; Hermit is the counselor, the one who understands. King of Wands is mouthy; Hermit has taken a vow of silence. Hermit is objective and factual; King of Wands is excitable.

Many cards that are ‘people cards,’ that are court cards (King, Queen, Knight or Page) or other cards whose illustrations depict an individual) can translate, say ‘analytical’ for Hermit or ‘angry’ for King of Wands – can translate as the traits instead of the person.

We look to the remaining card, and it is Star: talk, enthusiasm, feeling good, loving, shapely woman, performer, and – often- happy, glad, good things to say, and appreciate. Star makes phrases with both the other cards. (Naturally – Star is a talker.)

Star with Hermit is the old man with the shapely babe. Hermit is sober, and Star is party mode, a sexy nude. Star is feeling good and being healthy; Hermit is the doctor. Hermit knows and Star explains. Both Hermit and Star are sincerity and warm feeling.

Star with King of Wands describes the angry outburst, because Star means to talk and to gush (sales pitch, propaganda, babble, talk too much, etc.) and King of Wands is angry. Star loves angry irritated passionate wild men. Star is the husband explaining, or saying ‘I love you.’ These two cards make lots of other common phrases. These two cards are both about intense emotions, too.

.

.

.

TYPE ANY CARD’S NAME PLUS ‘TAROT VERBATIM’ INTO GOOGLE AND GET A SCROLL OF ALL ITS MEANINGS

Hermit……. Hermit has a story, and every little element of his story is a germ of meanings. Hermit is a physician and a monk who goes out at night in the cold mountains with a light looking for travelers to offer them a warm bed, warm meal, and good helpful advice, because he is a guide too. (Even the light can represent a flashlight. ‘Out looking’ can represent a search for, say, a lost person or lost item. The fact he is on foot can say ‘pedestrian.’)

Today, paired with Wild Man King of Wands, Hermit is the sane and sober friend and counselor to his hotheaded compatriot. Hermit is the patient, kind, supportive friend who looks out for his fellow being. As the monk, he is the monogamous (true-to-her, devoted-to-her), devoted, care-taking sober and self-controlled man.

Hermit, as a religious (cleric), is ‘on the path,’ is enlightened, is a superior, kind, virtuous human. Archie, there – King of Wands – well, he is what Christians call ‘the natural man’ and what occultists refer to as ‘reactive.’ Hermit combines religion and spirituality, as the dedicated monk. Hermit is about searching, and, since he is a monk, he is searching for God.

King of Wands……..It helps to know that the ‘fire’ element of astrology affects King of Wands’ meanings. See the actual, and the design of, salamanders there? Middle Age people believed salamanders were dragons that breathed fire. They believed that red-headed people were of that ilk. That idea is still floating round today. ‘Fiery’ is the word that introduces you to their beliefs regarding the concept behind the picture here. (Can you say ‘redneck’?)

‘ Fiery’ is the bad temper, the impulsive, edgy, uninhibited and reckless nature imputed to, yes, redheads. And to King of Wands, who is pictured as a redhead. ‘Fiery’ is excitable, passionate, ill-tempered, angry, edgy, energetic – the live wire fellow. Even the fellow (or woman) with the violent temper. Fiery people are active; they get other people moving. They are, uh, physical types and therefore of lesser cloth, or lesser make, than the rest of us. They are those hell-raisers. They are the workingmen, the ‘country boys,’ the common man, the hands-on laborer or craftsman, the macho man.

In Tarot Verbatim, King of Wands is husband, because Queen of Wands, she who rules the roost (home, business or social circle) is wife. She is the sensible manager … has some things in common with Hermit. King of Wands being the husband is peculiar to Tarot Verbatim, as Queen of Swords being the bitch is.

Star……Star is uninhibited expression (usually verbal but not always), publicly, of love and good feeling. Star is being crazy about (anything). Star is also praise, being happy, pouring your guts out, confessing, a shapely woman, enthusiasm, being thrilled … even a sales pitch or propaganda or a press release – publicity. Star is a performer – especially a singer. It is also a ritual bath, and it is enjoying a bath or shower, but seldom does this affect its translates. Star is upbeat, enjoyment, and love, love, love.

Star is about robust health … along the lines of ‘feeling good’ and ‘feeling good all over.’ Feelings, as well as the water, are flowing in Star.

Once in a while that ‘pouring into water’ means ‘spill’ or joins in a theme of a leak or some other flow of water – even a river.

Here are the words Star makes today: feel good, feel good all over, voluptuous babe, ‘I love you,’ love, crazy about, declaration of undying love, elaborately confessing love, at the party, feeling pretty good, feel so good, feelings, great health, tells her she is beautiful, loves to, happy to, give instructions, tells all, happy to, explains, say what I feel, confess, express yourself, explain things, talks, say, spill.

.

.

The people whose enthusiasms infect and engross me are the same people who repel me with their out-of-controlness. Folks like Tom Paine and Edgar Allen Poe catch us into their vision, draw us into their world view against our will – or against what we think is our will. Something within us is seduced by the call of the maverick, the rebel. We sense or smell an underlying destiny that impels us, too. A person who totally believes, acts upon, and dedicates his life to … whatever it is … will have followers who are like moths to the flame. Some of these followers are attracted more to the ruckus than to the movement itself. These charismatic leaders imprint human history.

Tarot Readings for You for March 18, 2014 Tuesday©

Guidance      Let’s be upbeat about our messes.    The old man with a voluptuous babe, for instance.    Muddled eras of life, and how they, like a storm, clear up, but also how chaos creeps in right around a corner when we are not looking, like a cloud over the sun does.    How good it feels when the fog in our heart clears and we begin to notice that and sing ‘It Don’t Hurt Anymore.’    Advice is to look – to watch for early signs of decay or recovery … to look where we are going so we don’t fall down … as much.

Are YOU here for the first time? Come in!

People love this place! Our site is divided into four sections: Guidance, Tarot Readings, Learn Tarot by Observation, and Learn Tarot by Pictures.

Tarot Readings: The Fog Clears (Seven of Cups and Six of Swords)

So happy I’m over the brain fog and thinking clearly.

I see how confused I was and am glad I’m not that way anymore.

I find my way out of a mess and feel so good about it.

Look, the chaos is receding and I feel like singing.

Not looking for that needle in the haystack anymore, thank God.

Okay, I sobered up; my out-of-control partying days are over.

Now that I’m older, I no longer babble on about all sorts of things.

I was shaken up when I was told the truth, but I got over it.

Looking for a way out of the maze, here: Do tell me!

I’m feeling good since I left the broken place and got treatment.

You laid the facts on me and shattered my world, but I shall survive.

I see through the happy illusion that is my life as I go along.

So happy to get out of here and be on my way; it is driving me crazy.

He takes leave of his senses and is gaga for a voluptuous babe.

I’m out of the woods, with treatment, on the way to good health.

Tarot Readings: Leaving Our Senses (Hermit and Six of Swords)

I left at night on the road, got lost, and am here to tell the story.

I avoid people who show and tell where I messed up.

Take one good look at crazy-talking people and head the other way.

Glad to see him go – he made such a mess for an old guy.

People say the damnedest things as they duck out on the facts.

A confused old man wanders back to happier times.

She’s a babe and he’s an old man who is shocked to see better times ahead.

Now,  Part Two,

Do you want to know a little, or a lot, about how this Tarot Verbatim™ thing works? If so,

*Go to Learn Tarot by Observing section below. This tells about the combined four pictures in the Tarot Readings – the pictures above here.  It explains how these four cards get together in your mind to make the messages. HERE ARE PHRASES FOR ALL SIX 2-CARD COMBINATIONSis a stream-of-consciousness bridge to your subconscious if you use it regularly – people report.

*Go to Learn Tarot by Pictures.  It is what each of the four cards, by itself, has to say.  It shows you how that illustration makes that card’s meanings in today’s Spread. All the words of each Tarot card reading you see here are a phrase-by-phrase translation of the scene pictured on those cards: no filler, no psychic impressions, no spirit guide. Word-for-word Tarot Verbatim™.

You can put all this together and intuitively see yourself how Tarot Verbatim™ works.

This is a group reading, with no Questioner and no Question to limit what the cards say, so there’s more variety – even contradictions – and also the pronouns are more flexible. If it feels like it’s yours, and it says ‘he,’ and you’re a ‘she,’ feel free to adopt it anyway.

LEARN TAROT BY OBSERVING

What a movie we have here in the four pictures! In the middle is the muddle and the mess of our situation. To the left is seeing it clearly, understanding it; to the right is getting out of it and putting it behind for better times; above is being happy and feeling good all over.

Here’s how that goes:

In the middle is the muddle and the mess of our situation.

To the left is seeing it clearly, understanding it;

to the right is getting out of it and putting it behind for better times;

above is being happy and feeling good all over.

Hermit and Six of Swords are both on the road, leaving one place and going to another. Hermit has left his cozy monastery, where he is a service monk, and is going out on the road at night to help travelers. Six of Swords is leaving a bad scene for better times ahead.

Hermit and Seven of Cups Hermit is sane; Seven of Cups is out of control, crazy.

Hermit and Star Hermit is the old man; Star is the voluptuous babe. Hermit is celibate (make that monogamous, these days), and Star is party mode, sexy, even nude. Hermit is sober, and Star is, as we said, in party mode.

Hermit and Star Hermit is the doctor or healer; Star is being in great robust health.

Hermit He comes to you as a devoted caretaker, a healer or doctor, a sane and sober individual who is not sexual in most stories. He is finding his way on the road. He is looking out for and looking for. He is an old or older man. He shows, advises, demonstrates and counsels. He is a friend, is sincere. He is patient.

Seven of Cups Things have gone awry. ‘Out of control’ is the core meaning of Seven of Cups in Tarot Verbatim™ as it depicts Pandora’s Box or Sorcerer’s Apprentice – mischievous spirits on the loose. Disorganized unrelated object, like debris scattered … or a situation that is like that … or a mind or life that is like that. Crazy, it often says.

Six of Swords Well, that’s over. Things have got to get better. I’m out of this bad place, bad scene. I am on to something better, things are improving. I am over what ailed me, too. Six of Swords is the way out. Six of Swords is putting the past behind. Starting over in life, maybe with nothing, no resources. Heading out. It is a sad scene but with hope.

Star Feeling good all over – happy and healthy, singing in the shower. Performing or presenting or explaining or confessing or telling or saying or pouring your guts out or saying ‘I love you’: These are Star in action. A shapely woman, of course. Enthusiasm, being very happy or even thrilled about something. Star is a partying card, naturally. It can be a sales pitch too.

Miscellaneous Tarot Reading

In a search for happiness, (he) leaves here suddenly.

Two upbeat cards mean talking, speaking, explaining, confessing here. Star is feeling good and telling all about it – singing in the shower. It is also ‘spilling your guts,’ confessing, explaining all about it. Page of Wands is in good shape (Goes along with feeling good.) and looks good. He is proud to tell you. He means to speak, to tell, to say, as well as to stand for something.

Hermit is looking for, seeking, showing or demonstrating the way, helping and being a friend, coming to another person. ‘With a little help from my friends’ is Hermit. Hermit is also about wisdom and truth, as well as the religious path.

Knight of Swords is fast-paced, is a turnaround or a change – something done in a hurry. ‘Spur of the moment’ suits this illustration, too. He is a change of direction

He comes back to tell you he loves you; he comes looking for you. I went looking for my new self, and let me tell you all about it.

Hermit We see him as he goes out seeking travelers who could use the help of the monastery on this cold night.

He is a change of direction. The knight’s horse is racing as he extends his sword over its head, and the wind whips the mane

Star Star is feeling good and telling all about it – singing in the shower. It is also ‘spilling your guts,’ confessing, explaining all about it. We see a woman performing a ceremonial bath (ablution) as she sings and pours two vessels’ contents into the little pond. She can refer to a beautiful woman, but that is a minor part of Star. Expression is her focus: performance.

Page of Wands His main meanings are looking good (handsome young man) and talking up. He is in good shape, and this card refers to physical body and physical consciousness. He speaks up, is proud to be what he is. He means to speak, to tell, to say, as well as to stand for something.

EXPLANATIONS: (Skip this and the gray tags to get to Comments.)

Each and every ‘Tarot Reading’ sentence you see is a literal interpretation of the four Rider Waite Tarot cards drawn and pictured for today. (The literal interpretation is from the illustration on each card.) These sentences are put together by only combining the phrases of what each cards says. In other words, there are NO “filler” phrases added just to make full sentences, and no psychic ability or spirit guide is ever involved.

Now in an ‘real’ individual reading, the questioner asks a specific question and thereby supplies at least half the information! In a personal reading, the parties are identified and sometimes a time frame is too. Here, in a group reading we cannot do that and so we get a variety of sentences.

Horoscopes are group readings, too. Astrology is based on someone else’s birth data, though, so a ‘solar’ group horoscope never really solidly applies to you! (Astrologers want you to know this!)

Tarot, on the other hand, is perfectly capable of flexibly addressing any group, including all of the visitors that come to this site. It can also address people you might not even know personally, such as all the people at your job who have a say in whether or not you get a raise.

Our Daily Spread January 26, 2012 Thursday©

Advice How normal differences are! – and people can settle them rationally and peaceably by getting together and explaining themselves.   Whether it’s love or business or family or the larger human groups.   We are speaking of peaceful combat, which is what sports and courts of law try to be. We suggest a mentality of being very direct with our truth in order to engage the other side in settlement.   That’s a good way to fight, we are saying here.

Hermit
Five of Wands – Three of Pentacles – Star

Loving Relationship (Three of Pentacles + Star)

An honest man who loves with all his heart and tries hard in a relationship.

Honest effort to be loving in this relationship.

Tells the truth when he says he is doing his part with all his might.

We travel to meet together to do activities we enjoy.

Not only tells you (he) loves you but is doing everything (he) can to be supportive and do (his) part.

Crazy about you and willing to do my part in our relationship, trying hard to be loving and kind.

When you love someone who is combative, you have to be the one who is understanding in that relationship.

It’s true some people are competitive even in their love relationships!

You see you have competition in your love relationship: There’s three of us!

We settle our differences by honest discussion.

Lover’s Quarrel (Five of Wands + Star)

It’s true we enjoy one another’s company even when we are fighting.

Lover’s quarrels are settled nonsexually.

Talk out your conflicts and settle issues peaceably.

An honest relationship includes discussions about conflicts.

We get together and argue (heated discussion) about what the facts are.

Patiently negotiating terms of our relationship in a heated discussion.

His concept of a loving relationship involves word battles.

Business: Team Effort (Five of Wands + Three of Pentacles)

Explain the facts to the team engaged in the effort.

Dedicated enthusiastic people on the team effort.

Seeking consensus through vigorous discussion.

Patiently negotiating terms of a deal in heated discussion.

Vigorous discussion examining and negotiating terms of a deal.

The three of them do verbal sparring to come to an understanding and agreement.

Making an honest profit in a competitive business requires optimism and faith.

The business of religion is to talk to people and get them engaged.

.
Getting Together for a Fight (Five of Wands + Three of Pentacles)

Some things, we all agree, are fighting words in spite of being true.

Old people love to get together and fight about things.

They all watch a fight and talk about it.

Telling the truth makes people you deal with fight with you.

When religious people get together, they have word battles.

Telling the truth in a legal battle.

Meeting to debate the facts.

Miscellaneous

We agree together on offering to help people who are struggling.

Three of us have cogent viewpoints that conflict, so we are talking it out.

Doctors get together to discuss what they are doing, and they disagree.

Explaining the role of exercise in good health.

These doctors are averse to us having good health – it’s business, you know.

Getting together and explaining yourselves is a rational approach to differences of opinion.

People can settle an issue between (or among) them rationally and peaceably by getting together and talking it out.

Religious (monks) at a cathedral are engaged in an effort to have faith and be optimistic and cheerful.

Investigators gang up and try hard to get a confession.

Hermit
Five of Wands – Three of Pentacles – Star

LEARN TAROT BY OBSERVING

Our Tarot panelists have met here in your mind for a rational discussion about differences, about struggle, about issues of competition and combativeness.  These four belong together:  Their message is unified and cogent.  It is the same message whether it is applied to lovers or business.  Noteworthy, though, is the fact that three of the four refer (or can refer) to religion:  Three of Pentacles is in a cathedral;  Star can be an ablution (ritual cleansing);  and Hermit shows a monk.

Five of Wands, our central or ‘star’ card, is fighting, struggling, competition or combat – or trying hard.  Its core is energy engaged – usually with other people, but it can mean activity or exercise too, or even just trying hard, a big effort.  It can also mean averse or against or opposition.

Today the Five of Wands expenditure of energy refers to:  (1) a meeting to settle things, Three of Pentacles, which is also relationship or business deal or meeting;   (2) Star, talking, explaining, spilling your guts, expressing, being in love, feeling so good, being healthy;   (3) Hermit, rational look and examination of the facts, helping others, old man, coming to or traveling to, patient, peaceable, supportive friend (or just friend).

So today’s story is about how normal differences are, and people can settle them rationally and peaceably by getting together and explaining themselves.

LEARN TAROT BY THE PICTURES

Five of Wands illustrates its meaning well. Five fellows going at one another with big boards means fighting, struggling, competition or combat – or trying hard. Its core is energy engaged – usually with other people, but it can mean activity or exercise too, or even just trying hard, a big effort. It can also mean averse or against.
Three of Pentacles in Rider Waite pictures a final inspection of a building (a cathedral) by an architect. His largest payment is the final one, so this is a business deal, and it is about real estate. They are coming to a meeting of minds about the blueprint having been followed. They are settling up. The card comes up for any meeting of three people, and for a relationship of any kind.

Star shows a female singing or performing in an outdoor bath, feeling good. It may be an ablution (ritual cleansing). Singing in the shower. Star means talking, explaining, spilling your guts, expressing, being in love, feeling so good, being healthy, being optimistic and having faith. Also being in love and confessing love.
Hermit Here we have a monk going out with a light in the cold dark night to look for travelers who could use his help. He is the helpful kind peaceable patient friend, a supportive person. He is looking for and carrying a light, so the meaning of Hermit is rational look and examination of the facts, helping others, old man, coming to or traveling to, patient, peaceable, supportive friend (or just friend).

Advice is that living a good life brings health and enough money to be happy. Cards with this meaning have converged here as if by design; there is no preachiness to the message but emphatically: Gratitude for what you do receive is a wise course to be on, and aren’t you happiest when the money you get is honest money? Find a way to make money by giving people their due and bringing them their truth.

Is this the first time you come here?   Well … what to do:

*Go to Daily Message Tarot Analysis below. One or more of those sentences has something to say to you. Pick those out. They are about you and the people around you. They are about today and the days around it. (It is a group message like a horoscope, except Tarot isn’t based on someone else’s birth data, so it can be specific, accurate, detailed and direct. Our experiment here is “How much more accurate is it?”)

*Go to Advice to apply what those sentences say (in the best way) for you. (Advice is everyone’s favorite part.) Did you come here for your predictions? – You are done now – See you tomorrow.

The Question for weekdays is: “Tell the visitors here something useful and meaningful to them. The Question for weekends is stated right on top on those days.

Without a question to focus the answer, four cards can mean contradictory things especially when the Spread has a card that negates other cards. Without a question also the pronouns in a group reading are more flexible, especially in some of these Rider Waite Tarot spreads. When a pronoun is in parentheses, feel very free to substitute. The question in a ‘real’ individual reading supplies at least half the information!

MEANINGS AND ILLUSTRATIONS: OBSERVATION OF THE SPREAD

Six of Pentacles is to pay what you owe honestly, and Hermit is honesty, and Ace of Pentacles is having money. All three of these cards involve what is right and doing what is right.

The idea of being rewarded is in both Six of Pentacles and Ace of Pentacles. Both of them are having money: Six of Pentacles is receiving or paying it, and Ace of Pentacles is possessing it.

Hermit is being on the Path and Ace of Pentacles is the Path.

Star means good health and Hermit is a healer and is sobriety. Hermit brings the truth and Star tells the good news.

MEANINGS AND ILLUSTRATIONS: INDIVIDUAL RIDER WAITE TAROT CARDS

Six of Pentacles is getting paid or paying, is getting what you deserve or giving others what they deserve. It is doing the right thing. An employer is shown weighing coins to pay his employees fairly. It is a justice card.

Star is one of the strange cards as far as the illustration and the meaning. Some ceremonial bath associated with a performance here means good health, talking, singing or acting, good news or publicity.

Ace of Pentacles has a juxtaposition of spirituality and money. The straight and narrow path is there for all to see, with its lilies in front and rose arbor at the far end, and with the hand with the large sum in it representing money and success. But it isn’t espousing the prosperity gospel of big corporate religion; it is saying that when you are on the right path, your life is all right.

Hermit’s meanings grow out of its picture: The monk goes out looking for travelers on the road to help them, bringing his light. He is an old man who is living an honest life of service to others, and he is a doctor as well, a healer. Being ‘on the Path’ is of course suggested. This isn’t one of the churchy cards.

Hermit and Star both are sincerity and warm feeling. Hermit and Eight of Cups both refer to a journey walking – and one is a pilgrim and one is a monk. We begin with Eight of Cups which in Rider Waite commonly means: avoid, abruptly, change, quit, drop everything and immediately, suddenly. Then we have the Hermit, whose common meanings are to look, to seek, to find, to observe, sincerely, knows, the fact, honest. Then the Eight of Pentacles which is about work and what you are doing. We close with Star which is about talk, confessing love, praise, being happy and healthy, and even a performer.

The comment for your six months says things go well at work, things change for the better, and love is sincere. I’ll drink to that … after Lent.

Meanings and Illustrations:

Eight of Cups: Common phrases for this guy are: avoid, abruptly, change, quit, drop everything and immediately, suddenly. The picture shows what is supposed to be a pilgrim turning a forced corner in his course.

Hermit: He too is out at night walking on a journey. Hermit usually means to look, to seek, to find, to observe, sincerely, knows, the fact, honest.

Eight of Pentacles: Here’s the guy crafting one item after another. He is busy working at his bench. This is often about a steady effort and calls up phrases involving the word ‘keep’ and ‘keeping.’

Star: Health, happiness, to talk, to confess love, feeling good. The illustration shows a nude figure pouring something into a bathing pond.
