Guidance      Our transitions involve other people; we take them with us, or we leave them behind, when we move from one circumstance to another. For instance, since it goes into a future as it puts a past behind, it means both ‘from now on’ and ‘not anymore.’ It can adopt only the sorry past in its story, and it can adopt only the better future, and it can adopt just the leaving, or just the heading for, and it also can adopt the journey itself, such as ‘on the way to.’ It is both a hopeful and a depressing card. Hell, Six of Swords is life itself – your journey and mine, and ours. Interesting that today it appears with Hermit in tow.

He is out looking, he is out looking to help, he is coming to a person or situation, he is devoted and dedicated, is a religious, is a friend, is sincere, is a counselor or physician (of any kind), he is spiritual, he is on the road at night in the cold or any (part of those three elements), he is wise, and is an old man, and is hence mature. He is patient, sincere, sober and kind. All those things, in any combination.

…………….………… Temperance You would think it would mean ‘in moderation’ more often, with that illustration. Temperance is a healing card, including spiritual healing of course, with the angel in the picture. The pouring back and forth (diluting wine with water) makes words and phrases about intimate relationship, partnership, direct and reciprocal communication, and the gets-back-to-you response. Several cards depict an angel or angels, and when more than one appears, consider that ‘angel’ is a word in your sentence.

………..…………………………. Hermit and Temperance have at least three unrelated common meanings. Hermit is sobriety and Temperance is alcohol in moderation. Hermit and Temperance are both about healing. Hermit and Temperance are both close friendship.
