Tarot Readings for You for July 15-16, 2017 Weekend©

Here is another email reading (with her permission to share it) from the same gal whose other readings were a downer. This one regards looking down the road for another Prince Charming (Knight of Discs, she calls him, which is Knight of Cups for me).

.

I got a lot of new phrases for meanings of these Rider Waite Tarot cards from this reading – from each sentence – for the dictionary I keep. Subscribers to the Tarot Email Training project get this dictionary for the cards of that lesson. And you can Google any pair, or any single one, of the cards in these spreads, and get further information on them. That project, F.Y.I., will begin in AUGUST. If you sign up now, you will get notice the first part of August that it’s underway. It’s worth it: I have surpassed myself writing the bonus book and the lessons. (Emily)

Tarot Readings for You for May 22-23, 2017 Monday-Tuesday©

Here is an email reading a client kindly gave me permission to post. It is a good example of how explicit Tarot is when it says ‘It’s over.’ It’s also a good example of the cards that express a disturbed or even mentally unwell person – in different aspects: Ten of Pentacles, dysfunctional personal lives; Five of Swords, combative attitude (or actual combat); Page of Cups, confused; Seven of Swords, to violate others’ trust or to double-cross; Moon, to be deranged or mentally ill or a ‘lost soul’; Four of Pentacles, feeling inferior; Five of Cups, depression and regret. (Not all these cards say those things in this spread. Nevertheless, they show a pattern that this fellow is disturbed.)

Tarot Readings for you for January 23, 2015 Friday©

GUIDANCE     There comes a time when, if you care, you whip out the old checkbook. Certain people are deeply allergic to that simple act, aren’t they? This is that time. We are talking about the person in the family who takes care of others – or even the person in the neighborhood that takes care of neighborhood problems – in various ways, including giving money. It’s a generous woman, the head of a family clan, who is so helpful today. We have a couple who both are caring people in the same family or in a relationship.

.

Are YOU here for the first time? Come in!

People love this place! Our site is divided into four sections: Guidance, Tarot Readings, Learn Tarot by Observation, and Learn Tarot by Pictures.
If you just want your daily look ahead, Guidance and Tarot Readings are all you need. ‘Guidance’ (above) is a summary of what the cards are telling visitors to be aware of this day.

‘Group Tarot Cards Reading’ (just below this) is the actual word-for-word messages from the pictures of the three cards you see – to everyone. These readings are about you and the people around you.  They are about today and the days around it. So, go ahead and pick the sentences you feel are yours and decide whether to encourage or reject them for yourself.

Did you come here for your predictions? – You are done now – See you tomorrow. The family of commenters here would love for you to join in (the very last thing, at the bottom).

Now, Part Two,

Do you want to know a little, or a lot, about how this Tarot Verbatim™ thing works? If so,

*Go to Learn Tarot by Observing section below. This tells about the combined three pictures in the Tarot Readings – the pictures above here.  It explains how these three cards get together in your mind to make the messages. HERE ARE PHRASES FOR ALL THREE 2-CARD COMBINATIONS is a stream-of-consciousness bridge to your subconscious if you use it regularly – people report.

*Go to Learn Tarot by Pictures.  It is what each of the three cards, by itself, has to say.  It shows you how that illustration makes that card’s meanings in today’s Spread. All the words of each Tarot card reading you see here are a phrase-by-phrase translation of the scene pictured on those cards: no filler, no psychic impressions, no spirit guide. Word-for-word Tarot Verbatim™.

You can put all this together and intuitively see yourself how Tarot Verbatim™ works.

This is a group reading, with no Questioner and no Question to limit what the cards say, so there’s more variety – even contradictions – and also the pronouns are more flexible. If it feels like it’s yours, and it says ‘he,’ and you’re a ‘she,’ feel free to adopt it anyway.

.

.………..………..………..………..

Queen of Pentacles – Hermit – Ten of Pentacles

.

LEARN TAROT BY OBSERVING

.

……………….…………………..   Queen of Pentacles is the caring woman, the caretaker. Hermit is the man who looks out for and helps others, who goes out of his way to find them. This describes a couple who are devoted to one another, who care for one another. The other card is people who have trouble, people who are trouble, a place they are at (hospital, Rehab, treatment center) or dysfunctional relatives or neighbors. It’s also a dysfunctional bunch of people and a bad environment. Just the place that calls for Queen of Pentacles and Hermit.

……………………………   Queen of Pentacles makes it her business to be, in her setting, powerful and prosperous (She her holding the gold?) as well as skilled and competent, and she is a generous-spirited loyal-to-her-people woman, like the matriarch of a clan. She and King of Pentacles can be Italian or Italianate. A family woman to the bone. She can even be that too-loyal ‘my kids can do no wrong’ stereotype. She is associated with money, usually having her own, but can be a bookkeeper, and often is the backer or contributor to an organization or to her man.

………………………..   Hermit is a broad spectrum card. We start out with the service monk who goes out in the dark cold with his lamp looking for travelers to invite them to the monastery for warm bed and hot meal. So he is kind, helpful, honest and sincere, a devoted friend, he cares, and he comes to you., he is patient, is an older man, and is celibate, monogamous, or not sexual for whatever reason, and is religious – even pious. Elements of this illustration expand Hermit’s meanings to looking for, searching, watching, surveillance, a flashlight, ‘Be On the LookOut – (BOLO), being on the road, a friend of yours, and traveling in winter. Hermit comes up meaning ‘the truth ‘ and ‘demonstrates,’ at times … for no particular reason?

…………..……………   Ten of Pentacles also sprawls in its meanings. Pictured is a family quarrel, in Rider Waite’s Ten of Pentacles, so it means family problems and trouble with relatives. Controlling old man has dictated something to son, and the family meeting is a problem for the wife and mother. Grandpa may want another grand kid (a son no doubt), and mother already has a log on her leg there. She is earnestly talking to the Husband who has his side to her and is staring off, uninterested. So in Tarot Verbatim™, Ten of Pentacles is people who are a problem and/or people who have a problem, is the dysfunctional family or clan, or bunch of people. It is a house, and can be a group home, Rehab, treatment center, as well as a neighborhood. Hermit as the medic (His clothing reflects what doctors wore back then.) encourages the treatment center spectrum of this card today. The neighborhood can be the wealthy or the poor end of town. This is a lead card for the mob, the gang, and politicians.

………..…………..  Queen of Pentacles and Hermit Queen of Pentacles and Hermit are the two ‘caretakers’ of the Rider Waite deck in Tarot Verbatim™. You have the devoted family woman and the devoted service monk pictured. Queen of Pentacles is associated with supporting her man, family, and relatives, and with backing a business, contributing to a cause. Hermit is associated with going to help somebody, anybody, and with being the kind sincere honest friend and person. He of course is associated with religion and with being on the spiritual path, as well as being the medic and the wise counselor. He is also associated with being on the road, truth, facts, looking or searching, investigating, and the objective view. Put them together and you have a couple who each are devoted to the other, so we have ‘He cares for her and she cares for him’ and ‘She is a caring person and he is devoted too.

Hermit is an old man (or older man) and Queen of Pentacles is able and skilled, so ‘with the help of Grandfather, she handles it.’ ‘She has an objective view but she cares for (them) too’ comes about because Hermit means ‘objective view’ and Queen of Pentacles is famous for caring for (family or relatives). So ‘she looks out for her side.’

Queen of Pentacles is associated with money (She holds the gold.) and Hermit is a doctor so ‘She pays for medical care’ and ‘She is the one with the money, and that’s a fact’ and ‘She pays for the old man’ and ‘She helps out financially’ and ‘She contributes to a religious cause’ and ‘She is a financial adviser.’ Each time, Queen of Pentacles represents paying money, and the other meanings are meanings from Hermit. That’s how you do Tarot Verbatim™.

Hermit is Queen of Pentacles’ counterpart in regard to caring: He is the devoted friend, the one who goes out of his way to help, who comes to the aid, who seeks the other person out. This is the card for the doctor or healer (He is dressed as a doctor for his era.), for the reverend or priest, for the counselor or adviser. You see a service monk on the road looking for travelers to bring them to where he stays, for a hot mean and a bed. Being a monk brings in solitude, being alone, and therefore being on the road alone, since he is on the road: See how it works? This card can be about investigations, surveillance and searches in its application. It indicates ‘This is the person who goes to the other person(s).’ Hermit is a ‘knows’ card, even meaning ‘wise’ and a giver of advice. He means ‘friend.’ He is patient, too. This card can mean truth, fact, and demonstrate.

But Hermit is a helper too, so ‘He demonstrates he is her friend when he helps her. Notice that ‘demonstrates’ and ‘friend’ are meanings for Hermit as well as ‘help.’ We string together three of his meanings.

Hermit is a medic (doctor, healer, any medical care including mental health because he is also the adviser) and Queen of Pentacles is skilled and competent, so ‘competent treatment’ for these two cards in Tarot Verbatim™. Since Queen of Pentacles is skilled, she can borrow his skill in a sentence, and say ‘She has the counseling skill to help out.’

In the same way, Queen of Pentacles, next to Hermit, can be the one who is ‘on the lookout’ or the one who caused surveillance (Surveillance is his meaning). In the same way, Queen of Pentacles can handle (her word) being on the road alone (two of Hermit’s meanings).

Queen of Pentacles can be a bookkeeper (the money she is holding, plus ‘she can handle’) and Hermit comes to the other person, so ‘He comes to her to do the bookkeeping. Now Hermit is borrowing Queen of Pentacles skill. In the same way ‘financial adviser’ is Hermit’s adviser meaning plus Queen of Pentacles financial meaning.

Hermit is out looking, and Queen of Pentacles is about money, so ‘looking for something she can afford.’

Hermit means truth, facts, and objective view, so ‘The truth is, she is the matriarch,’ because Queen of Pentacles is a matriarch. x..

………..…………..  Queen of Pentacles and Ten of Pentacles Queen of Pentacles and Ten of Pentacles, right off the bat, is a family-oriented woman who cares for, supports and backs her man and her family; and Ten of Pentacles is the mostly-dysfunctional family – which is expandable to relatives, neighborhood, community and organizations. The fact these are both pentacles cards is the reason you know that’s her family. So ‘she cares for her people,’ ‘She cares for him in their infested environment,’ ‘The relatives feud but she is a caring person,’ ‘She handles family problems,’ ‘She cares for the trashy family,’ ‘She cares for her people,’ ‘She cares for her side of the family,’ ‘She can handle a bad neighborhood.’ Also ‘She is the matriarch of the clan.’

As the generous woman, Queen of Pentacles’ care for people extends to writing the checks to help them. So she pays for others: She pays a treatment center; she pays for someone’s nursing home; she supports relatives financially; she contributes to a (charitable) organization, and she is a financial help to people who are in trouble. The bookkeeping she does is a lot of trouble, too.

Queen of Pentacles is skilled, so she has the skill to handle the bad neighbors, and she is involved in ‘home care done by a caring woman,’ and ‘the skill to handle the bad neighbors,’ and to ‘get surveillance on the gang.’

Queen of Pentacles bookkeeping meanings stretch sometimes to the actual books themselves (since no other card except High Priestess directly involves ‘the books.’), so we have ‘where your liabilities are,’ which is Ten of Pentacles, ‘in your books.’ x..

……………………   Hermit and Ten of Pentacles Hermit and Ten of Pentacles will remind you of Queen of Pentacles and Ten of Pentacles because Hermit, too, is a caretaker. So we have ‘He cares for their infested environment,’ The relatives are feuding and he is devoted,’ ‘Grandfather helps with family problems,’ ‘… trashy family but he cares for them,’ ‘looks out for the family,’ ‘helps relatives out,’ ‘help with their trouble,’ ‘He demonstrates he is a friend when he helps with the trouble,’ ‘Friend helps with the trouble,’ ‘helps out with the bad neighbors,’ and ‘helps relatives out.’

Hermit is medical, as you know by now, and Ten of Pentacles can be a treatment center, Rehab, etc. ‘A treatment center for medical care,’ old man in a nursing home,’ ‘got treatment for a messed-up life,’ and ‘an adviser to people who are in trouble.’

Hermit is on the road, so he is on the road alone in a bad neighborhood. And ‘Some problem we all lhad (Ten of Pentacles) on the road at night (Hermit).

Hermit is ‘a religious,’ a monk, so Hermit and Ten of Pentacles are ‘a religious organization,’ since Ten of Pentacles is an organization. These two cards in Tarot Verbatim can also say ‘Neighborhood Watch’ because Ten of Pentacles is the (maybe endangered) neighborhood, as well as being an organization, and Hermit is, yes, watching.

Hermit is a friend. He demonstrates he is a friend (both of those are his meanings) when he helps (another of his meanings) with the trouble (Ten of Pentacles).

Hermit is watching, hence, surveillance; Ten of Pentacles is the gang or other crew of undesirables, so ‘The gang is under surveillance.’ x..

.

.

People problems infest people’s days because, well, people are problems. We salute today the devoted man and woman who help out with advice, support, friendship, caring – including health care, and policing abusive situations around them. These generous spirits volunteer aid to people who are in trouble. Raise your glass to them, right now – especially if you are one of them.

LEARN TAROT BY PICTURES

Queen of Pentacles.…….. Queen of Pentacles has fertility symbols around her to mean she is a mother (the bunny, the spring growth), has her hands on the huge gold pentacle. She specifically means ‘takes care of her man.’ Her stereotype is the fiercely loyal mother of the family or clan, the backer of her man, or of a business or organization, including charities, the bookkeeper, the caring woman or caretaker. ‘Generous woman’ is one of her phrases. She is a family woman, and the money she handles may be her own.

.

Hermit…………. I couldn’t do much better than what I wrote already, so most of this is a quote. “Hermit is a broad spectrum card. We start out with the service monk – who is also a medical doctor by what he is wearing – who goes out in the dark cold with his lamp looking for travelers to invite them to the monastery for warm bed and hot meal. So he is kind, helpful, honest and sincere, a devoted friend, he cares, and he comes to you, he is patient, is an older man – an older wiser man who is an adviser or counselor – and is celibate, monogamous, or not sexual for whatever reason, and is religious – even pious. Obviously, this is the card to represent a monk, maybe a priest, especially of the Roman Catholic church. Elements of this illustration expand Hermit’s meanings to looking for, searching, watching, surveillance, a flashlight, ‘Be On the LookOut – BOLO), being on the road, a friend of yours, and traveling in winter. Growing out of his ‘watching’ branch of meanings, Hermit comes up meaning ‘the objective view,’ ‘the truth ‘ and ‘demonstrates,’ at times.”

.

Ten of Pentacles………. Ten of Pentacles naturally is Queen of Pentacles’ family or relatives. Tarot Verbatim™ has a different set of meanings for Ten of Pentacles than other systems do. Tarot Verbatim™ takes the illustration, which is clearly an inter-generational family dispute – controlling Grandpa on his throne seems to have decreed something injurious to his son’s wife (probably decreed a new grandson) that his son is in favor of, because Son-Husband stares into space, his side turned to his pleading wife, who has a squalling brat pulling at her clothes. So Tarot Verbatim™ interprets Ten of Pentacles as ‘people who have a problem, or who are a problem,’ family dissension, trouble with relatives, clan rivalries. Tarot Verbatim™ expands this to dysfunctional organizations in general, a bad neighborhood, pesky neighbors, and group homes or treatment centers for people who have (or who are) a problem, and that includes Rehab.

HOW TO USE THE MATERIAL WE HAVE FOR YOU HERE. Read the sentences, and pick out the ones that seem to apply to you, to the people around you. They are a Tarot analysis of your day’s circumstances. As the day (or several days) unfolds, you may find the information is relevant. Some of this information refers to a longer time period. The question is: “Tell the visitors here something useful and meaningful to them.” Often, your adopting the attitude you feel in the blog works for your day! Some days are ‘keep an eye open’ and some are ‘green lights.’

Without a question to focus the answer, four cards can mean even contradictory things. Without a question also the pronouns in a group reading are less specific, more flexible, especially in some of these Rider Waite Tarot spreads. Especially when a pronoun is in parentheses, feel free to substitute.

The Advice section sums up a general meaning of all the sentences. It is the favorite of most of us.

Remember to share your experience with a comment here if you have words for it … I spend two or more hours a day writing to you, after all! Say hello back!

Ten of Pentacles

Ace of Cups

Hermit, Queen of Wands, Ten of Pentacles

Meanings and Illustrations: Observation of the Spread

Two of our cards are about healing, about love and devotion, helpfulness and cooperation, about helping and not harming, being well-intentioned. Those are Hermit and Ace of Cups. Each of these expresses spirituality too: Hermit is a seeker and Ace of Cups is the presence of God.

The plot thickens with the practical woman who runs a tight ship, the Mama or manager, and those troubled and/or trouble-making people. Now we have drama, the stuff our lives are made of.

Hermit and Queen of Wands are the voices of sanity, common sense, and being of service to others.

Queen of Wands and Ten of Pentacles both refer to the house or home life.

Meanings and Illustrations: Individual Rider Waite Tarot Cards

Hermit goes out looking for someone to take care of and help. He looks for travelers at night with his lantern who are stranded, lost or hurting. This is a calm, kind person, usually male and usually older; or it stands for coming to another person, taking care, being devoted, being the backup or the assistant. Sincerity, truth and investigation are some of its other applications. ‘Help is on the way.’

Queen of Wands is the down-to-earth practical woman. Nothing foo-foo about her: Put her in charge. She is the mama, the manager, the wife who runs the house. There’s no water around her throne, and her favorite flower is the sunflower. The black cat suggests she has a devious, witchy side as well.

Ten of Pentacles is the family we came from that we don’t want to duplicate … but do. It shows the old patriarch in his throne chair, petting the dogs … They know who’s boss, see? … while the couple with the grand kid discuss his latest edict. You know the routine: Wife talks, husband turns away and stares into space? – while the brat squalls and pulls on her clothes. Oh, yeah, this is a Family Scene.

This is family problems, couple problems, in-law problems, not getting along with one another. This is the whole extended family, or just the family; and it doesn’t have to be the dysfunctional family. It can be the work crew too, just as Queen of Wands can be the mama or the manager. It can be the work crew from hell, the neighborhood gang, politicians or mafia.

Ace of Cups is beneficial and not harmful, is a flow, is the easy way, cooperation, being loving, true love, is the idea of the presence of God infusing the ‘five humors’ or bodily fluids. It’s all about love here. Healing and loyalty, too. Its illustration shows the dove, symbol of Holy Spirit, infusing the water (and the wafer of communion).

Advice is to be the influence, the voice, of sanity when the dysfunctional people around you have lost theirs; and to demonstrate lovingkindness by patiently being of service to them (Hermit) yet requiring them, when they are ‘in your house,’ to be harmless and cooperative (Ace of Cups). Note the point is to influence and to not be influenced.

Our Daily Spread for Mar. 23, 2011

Today’s question is:  How to deal with whatever your problem is.

Rider_Waite_Tarot_Spread

It’s other people’s problems, their time to worry. The truth is: You are doing fine with what you have

Hermit
Queen of Pentacles, Ten of Pentacles, Nine of Swords

It’s other people’s problems, their time to worry.  The truth is:  You are doing fine with what you have.
You have all the resources to analyze this situation that involves you worrying about the other people.
You help others and take care of them:  It is their problems you worry about.
The truth is:  You are investing what is yours in a dysfunctional worrisome bunch of people.
These screwed up people come crying to you for help, and you take care of them.

Two of these cards refer to helping and taking care of another, Queen of Pentacles and Hermit.  But today they are not taking care of each other.  No, there are some dysfunctional people who are the problem, Ten of Pentacles, and there is a major ‘Wah’ going on, or worry, the Nine of Swords.

Advice is to take a good look at how you are spending your own time, effort and heart juices on people who ARE a problem, are upsetting you.  Inference is:  and not doing anything for themselves.

Meanings and Illustrations:

Queen of Pentacles: She takes care of her man or her people, she uses her resources for others.  Yes, she is doing fine.  Pictured with money in her hands and surrounded by growing things.

Ten of Pentacles: That’s the trouble people she is taking care of, depicted as a quarreling family but it also refers to a troubled romance or marriage.

Nine of Swords: Boo-hoo.  Up nights crying is the scene.  Here is refers to her worry about them, or to their attitude of crying to her.

Hermit: The truth is.  To analyze and observe a situation.  Helping others.  Illustrated is the monk who goes out looking for people in trouble to bring them help.

Sleep through the trouble and it will produce exactly what you want, just for you

Moon
Nine of Cups, Four of Swords, Nine of Pentacles

Just wait out the bad scene, enjoying your private life by yourself, and you will get what you want.
It’s a really bad situation, but not yours to do anything about:  Mind your own business and enjoy life.
You don’t need to do another thing about the terrible situation, you are single and have what you need.
Sleep through the trouble and it will produce exactly what you want, just for you.
You have what is yours, and that’s that, you have no part in the bad scene.

Nine of Cups, he is mighty satisfied with his own good dinners; and Nine of Pentacles feels the same self-satisfaction.  They are both enjoying their own private lives, and she specifically is not interested in other people’s anything.  In the middle is not doin’ a thing.  And the last card reflects the question today, which is about ‘your problem.’  Well, the advice is:  It’s not really your problem, you can just enjoy what you’ve got and to heck with this problem thing.  Take a nap.  (Sometimes that is very literal advice.  When you see Four of Swords, ask yourself whether you are short on your sleep.)

So the advice here is:  Problem, what problem?  It isn’t really your problem.  Enjoy what you’ve got and to heck with it all.

Meanings and Illustrations:

Nine of Cups: Have everything you want or need, get what you want, enjoy life.  Pictured is the fat fella who ate and drank to surfeit, still grinning in satisfaction.

Four of Swords: To rest, sleep, meditate, and not do or be active about anything.  Take it easy.  The illustration shows the candidate for knighthood meditating in the cathedral before he is knighted.

Nine of Pentacles: She is enjoying her private life and minding her own business, she is single and is just for herself, which echoes the Nine of Cups’ self centered approach.

Moon: This stands for whatever the problem is, that terrible thing.  This Rider Waite Tarot card stands for everything gone wrong.  Pictured in weird colors are a full moon, a dog with a wolf, a lobster beginning a land journey.

In the process (painful) of separating yourself from that sweet guy you love so much

Three of Swords
Ace of Cups, Knight of Cups, Three of Wands

When you are broken up or divorced, someone comes to you with loving feelings.
When your true love comes to you, you will be separating yourself from a heartache.
In the process (painful) of separating yourself from that sweet guy you love so much.
While you are hurting, wait for someone who expresses (his) devotion to come to  you.
Break up, separate from him, and he will come to you with heartfelt devotion.

Well, this is obviously about love.  The Ace of Cups means love, the Knight of Cups is the loving person or man, and the Three of Swords is heartache, splitting up, hurting.  The card that isn’t in that theme is the Three of Wands which indicates a good future.

Advice here is to let love come to you regardless of whatever is hurtful or regardless of some separation you find yourself in.  The spread has a very pleasant feel to it.

Meanings and Illustrations:

Ace of Cups: Love, true love, God’s love.  Good everything:  good health, no harm, ease.  The illustration in Rider Waite depicts the dove and wafer, symbols of the Holy Spirit, infusing five flows (which stand for the five senses).

Knight of Cups: And here is the loving person, usually a man, usually youngish (which can mean young in heart or attitude, or ‘pure’) taking the initiative to express affection:  ‘He comes to you’ type thing.  The soft curves of the line drawing, and his relaxed pretty horse express all this.

Three of Wands: It’s coming.  Something comes to you, you are not going to it; and whatever it is, it’s a good thing.  Often in means income or profit.  Illustration screams ‘Ships coming in.’

Three of Swords: A divorce card in Tarot Verbatim.  It means separation, hostility, being against, hurt, and shows a heart with three knives piercing it.

All three spreads say: Relax. You don’t need to take any action. Let it work itself out; it will.
