.………..………. .……..…….. Nine of Cups is what you want, is getting what you want, is being grateful, and is having enough. It is also being pleased and pleasing someone. It is feeling good and being content. Nine of Cups is represented by that safunsified feeling you have after you eat a big meal and have a few drinks: satisfaction and satiety. Like in the picture there.

Eight of Wands is everything, is more and more, is talk or any kind of communication. It means ‘quickly’ just once today, but ‘quickly’ is one of its habitats.

Nine of Cups and Eight of Wands are the news (Eight of Wands) you want to hear. Nine of Cups and Eight of Wands are magical together. They say ‘You get everything you want’ and ‘You are satisfied or content with everything.’ Nine of Cups is ‘your wish comes true’ and Eight of Wands makes that plural for you. One could, literally, not ask for anything more.

King of Pentacles is a man who has it all: money, influence, charisma, sex appeal, power. He is the man everyone (Eight of Wands means ‘everyone.’) wants to talk to. Having it all: He and Nine of Cups both refer to that – and he is feeling as good as Nine of Cups depicts there.

King of Pentacles……. King of Pentacles can be the evil powerful man – politician or mobster or just the snarky landlord. He can be the flamboyant or flashy fellow too (Liberace stuff). Occasionally, he can translate ‘that bastard,’ even. He is in such good company today, though, with Eight of Wands and Nine of Cups, that he is on his very best behavior. Today, with Nine of Cups, he is the powerful fellow who does people favors (gives them what they want) – or he is the fellow who is powerful precisely because he does that. King of Pentacles is the charismatic man. Independently of that charisma, he is the sexy man, the man whose sex appeal is over the top. That is why he is the Prince, the Italian Stallion, and Studmuffin. Note that all these traits are personality traits, and factual things (like he has money); they are not about his good looks. A man can be very sexy and not be handsome – like, say Danny deVito.

Eight of Wands…….. Eight of Wands affects its neighbors more than other Tarot citizens do. It is a pluralizer (makes plurals) and it also adds suffixes that mean ‘more,’ ‘increasing’ or ‘increasingly’ – suffixes like: er, ier, est, iest. It also drops words into the sentences that do that – lots of different ones – like more, most, every, all, many, etc. That is its job.

Eight of Wands is communication of any kind at all. It is the card that shows up for texting (lines). It is the card that shows up for a list of any kind. It will say talk, speak, speech, tell – and don’t forget ‘hear’ once in a while too.

Eight of Wands is sequence too: one after the other, one at a time, each and every time, and so on.

Eight of Wands belongs to the ‘fast’ theme. It often means quickly.

You see the limbs flying through the air, one above the other, to represent these concepts.

Nine of Cups……“It’s all good,” Nine of Cups is saying. A chubby fellow has eaten and drunk enough (or more than enough), has had all he wants of everything. That feeling is what its meanings have in common. ‘Mighty fine.’ The nearest Nine of Cups comes to negative meaning is greed, ‘too much’ or excess – and it takes some encouragement from neighbor cards to say that.

Nine of Cups everybody calls ‘Your wish is granted.’ This basic meaning expands to being satisfied, being content, being grateful and thankful, having enough, pleasing another and being pleased yourself, feeling good and pleasure. HOW TO USE THE MATERIAL WE HAVE FOR YOU HERE.  Read the sentences, and pick out the ones that seem to apply to you, to the people around you.  They are a Tarot analysis of your day’s circumstances.  As the day (or several days) unfolds, you may find the information is relevant.  The question is:  “Tell the visitors here something useful and meaningful to them.”  Often, your adopting the attitude you feel in the blog works for your day!

Without a question to focus the answer, four cards can mean even contradictory things.  Without a question  also the pronouns in a group reading are less specific, more flexible, especially in some of these Rider Waite Tarot spreads.  Especially when a pronoun is in parentheses, feel free to substitute.

A summary of what Tarot is saying today:

Both Temperance and Eight of Wands are about conversation, communication.  Temperance also brings ‘intimate’ and ‘close’ to that; and Eight of Wands brings ‘quickly’ and ‘many’ and ‘more and more’ to the party.  The top card is the sexy, charismatic, manipulative studly dude who is influential and powerful.  (Now, the fella who always wins at pool is powerful and influential in that pool hall.)

Introducing those three Rider Waite Tarot cards is the Fool, who today is lighthearted, casual, doesn’t know or ‘who knows?’ or ‘has no idea’; who isn’t present; who is young; who assumes.  He ‘acts as if’ and also means ‘as if.’

Advice is to be egalitarian with powerful influential men, to be casual and have lighthearted conversation with ‘your betters’ as if you were familiar and equal.  We speak also of how quickly a manipulative fellow can get on familiar terms with you, before you know it, through conversation.  We go on to point out it’s that way in business too: The mogul has everybody on his side, talking to him without thinking about it.
