One is: I know it’s out of control, and I am too – panic, brain-fog, high, imagination running away with me, losing it. Seven of Cups

Seven of Cups catches you unaware. It is about a mess … any kind of mess, from clutter to storm damage to mental derangement. It can represent a storm: the cloud and the debris. Its mood is shock and awe. Things have fallen apart, hit the fan, and are out of control.

The illustration is from Sorcerer’s Apprentice, when the bad spirits are out of control because the magician’s new hire has decided to mess with things. A similar story about the bad spirits being accidentally let loose is Pandora’s Box. In both these stories, there’s just one good spirit whose job it is to counterbalance the chaos of the demon kingdom, who is let loose after identifying herself (yes, female in both cases), and after the bad guys have a head start. In Rider Waite, this good spirit is under the white cloth in the center cup.

 

Hanged Man

Hanged Man is an idea striking, and it represents subconscious or superconscious awareness. When the subconscious opens the hatch and lets loose with an idea from ‘out there,’ we feel disoriented (upside-down) and feel maybe our head is hot from stimulation (the energy halo around Hanged Man’s head). This illustration also accesses several myths about the hero god hanging himself on a tree and sacrificing a body part to obtain wisdom (meaning occult awareness).

 

 

 

Knight of Pentacles

Knight of Pentacles is a guy: very physically oriented, stubborn, self-centered, and ‘one thing on his mind.’ Strong of body, and focused. His mind is made up. He can be obsessing. He can progress to being a thug or punk, and his stereotype is the short stocky extroverted guy who sees in black-and-white. He and the horse he rides in on are dark, short, muscular and manly.

We have two similar cards in our three-card spread: Hanged Man and Knight of pentacles. Magician

Caught in the act of creating or preventing an event is our Magician, right hand raised to heaven, left hand earthward to ground himself in the transition between heaven and earth. This is what Magicians, and humans, do: channel happenings.

Meanings of Magician are very simple – so simple that finding and applying words is not so simple. First conjugate the words ‘do,’ and ‘make,’ and then add forms of the words ‘act’ and ‘active.’ Then add words and phrases about starting, initiating, and beginning. He introduces himself in romance sagas, for instance.

You got it. It’s that well defined. Here is the variety of ‘do’ words for today, though, to give you an idea about applying this card’s words: do, doing, do things, do what it takes to, to do, you do, he does, do something, doing it, to      get things done, after what he did, what you are doing, does something about it.

 

 

 

 

Ace of Cups

Although this Ace of Cups card has far-flung and numerous words and phrases to its name, they are apples that do not fall far from the tree when you know what it, and its picture, are all about. Today, we use eleven categories of Ace of Cups’ meanings.* This is a Roman Catholic cultured Tarot card, as are a few of Rider Waite’s. It depicts Holy Communion, and God’s spirit entering the consciousness of a person, entering and flowing through the whole body metabolism of a member, flowing into mass consciousness.

The dove of course is Holy Spirit, and it carries the wafer of the Communion ceremony, depositing it into a fountain (representing the human) from which flows the five senses (or five ‘bodily humors’ if you are going by Middle Ages culture) – flows into mass consciousness, represented by the large body of water with the water lilies.

So Ace of Cups is all good things including people who are good, God, positive effects on people around (you or whoever). Ace of Cups is a flow of any sort, which expands to include cooperation, going with the flow, comfortable and relaxing, ease and easy, getting along and cooperating, help, peace, and good health. Ace of Cups is ‘all benefit and no harm.’ Ace of Cups can translate ‘good,’ ‘better,’ and ‘best.’

Knight of Pentacles

Knight of Pentacles can be a bad-boy(a punk) in the company of, say, Seven of Swords and Ace of Wands, but not today in the company of Ace of Cups which removes harm.

Knight of Pentacles is a short stocky strong Type A dude, a man with muscles who is usually stubborn and/or driven. ‘One thing on his mind’ is his calling card, which can be determination, obsession, or his own self-interest.

Knight of Pentacles is a member of the Knowing clan of Tarot. This is a very very frequent translate for him. Just look at today’s: from thought; you know how; what is your own idea; you know that; he gets the idea; one thing he knows: how to; focus on; you know; he thinks of; once you focus on; he knows how to; to keep your mind on.

Like Page of Pentacles, he holds that coin in front of his face and stares at it, focuses on it. So, like Page of Pentacles, Knight of Pentacles will bring words like ‘watch,’ and ‘laid eyes on.’ ‘Focus’ and ‘concentrates’ belong to Knight of Pentacles. The way he stares brings this card applications about ‘first priority’ and determination, drive. The ‘first priority’ theme often translates as ‘the most.’ That goes along with all the times Knight of Pentacles means ‘for sure’ or ‘certain.’

 

 

 

 

 

 

Now Without The Pictures

You have heard me say that three cards whose meanings are not related make stories. Today, Magician is about a man taking action; Ace of Cups is about love, relaxing, cooperation, God, and ‘good’ – anything and everything good; Knight of Pentacles is a man focused on one thing, a strong man. Consider this as the main story, and the other meanings of these three Rider Waite Tarot cards make other stories. All these stories are good-news ones because of Ace of Cups’ influence.

An example of themes this spreads makes are ‘Do no harm, first of all,’ the medical doctors’ slogan from Hippocrates. Do what you love the most. Do good with good intentions.

Magician and Ace of Cups says ‘the easy way to get things done,’ ‘do a good deed,’ ‘make love’ and ‘getting started is the easy part.’ This pair also says things like these: Do things the best way; comfortable doing; do what it takes to get along; does love you; making good health; do the best thing; do the easy ones; start cooperating; do what you love; helps you do it; easier doing it, or the easy way to get it done; makes peace after doing that; takes initiative if he loves you; loves you and does something about it.

Tarot Readings for You for July 4, 2018 Wednesday© Email

Here’s a special Wednesday treat for all of you who do your own Tarot using this site as a library of combined meanings of Tarot cards. The treat is a peek into why your question should include pertinent factors that the cards are not precise about. The big factors are dates, person(s), and time.

Ask ‘who did it’ and you get a description you may not recognize. Ask the motive of who did it, and you will get a description of the scene that usually tells you whodunit. Don’t ask ‘when’ about anything because Tarot is mass-consciousness based ‘out there’ or ‘in there’ somewhere, and isn’t earthbound with clocks and calendars. Instead, you ask ‘Will X happen in Y time?’ as I call it. Not ‘When will he call?’ but ‘Will he call this week?’ That converts the question into a yes-or-no one which Tarot will answer well (or pretty well) giving details that are applicable (cogent).

First thing here is the question I did answer for our client ‘as modified.’ She wants to know ‘what a relationship is going to become,’ not specifying the relationship. Tarot Verbatim is fine (is excellent, really) with that. With no background, however, once the cards talk about marriage and leaving or switching, you as the reader don’t know who’s who. The answer is to be from Client’s perspective, but you don’t know which position Client occupies unless that is in the ‘history.’ And there’s no history required in these cold Email readings. This is why the instructions on the Email Reading tab suggest saying whether love interest is married

I wrote Client, and when she did not respond right away, simply modified the question to include just Dude and her. That is the first set of spreads you see.

Then Client answers with history and perspectives. Tarot did rise to the occasion in its answer.

THEN I include the original set of cards which are confusing to apply if you don’t know the history. Now, you can put these together and see how to handle this – how to phrase a general relationship question which gives no identity of parties or background.

Thank you for this.

He is not married, but recently divorced with all sorts of drama with manipulative ex and 2 very manipulative/manipulated kids.

In this sense, even though we are very much in a committed relationship (it’s been almost 2 years, and we met well after his separation but during the final months of divorce litigation), I guess I am the other woman because of all the claws and fangs still gripping him and pulling him in directions his heart does not agree with?

I should add that he has said many time that he will “never get married again”… perhaps he is conflicted about that belief and the prospect of me walking away from him and the drama that he may have to continue to deal with for the next several years…

Wheel of Fortune – I read, awhile back, that Lady Luck is the last survivor of the gods of myth, and luck is a frequent word for Wheel of Fortune. You can see the mythic influence at a glace here, especially with that saucy sphinx atop the roulette-looking wheel. And gambling is one of Wheel of Fortune’s applications, of course. But today, in the company of the very physical and very focused Knight of Pentacles, and the down-to-earth pic of the hand with the board in it, Wheel of Fortune is using its most earthly interpretations.

Every time you turn around, Wheel of Fortune translates ‘wonderful’ or ‘it happens.’ It means chance both as ‘coincidence’ and as ‘opportunity.’ It means the best happens, a miracle, the windfall, and the best.
