Tarot Readings for You for August 30, 2014 Saturday(c)

King of Cups – Ace of Swords - Temperance

Guidance

We have all met him at one time or another: the quiet, polite, unassuming man who is in complete control of himself, his emotions, and the deal he is doing with people. A man who comes off as meek has an advantage in most confrontations. A powerful man who has the confidence to treat you as an equal is a winner before there's any contest. The gentlemanly style also is a huge advantage in love affairs. Anot...

Tarot Readings for You for August 29, 2014 Friday(c)

Guidance We celebrate and make poetry about the ordinary man, the husbands we have, the wild and passionate hotblooded fellow we feel, somehow, entitled to. He talks like a workingman, and everything he says is fit to print. Oh, he has a temper and he has opinions – he spouts off on an ordinary day. All these men are the same, you know? Husbands are okay – all of them. All men are normal. And that's all we are about today. We are in a Merle Haggard song. Do you like Merle Haggard? Ar...

Tarot Readings for You for August 27, 2014 Wednesday(c)

Guidance A web-work of loyalties spins us into conflicts of interest … especially our own individual interest as the things we belong to program us and metastasize. It's similar to the web-work of treaties nations make with one another, that lead to world wars. The beginning of choosing to belong is often casual and easy, but easier to get into than to get out of – like marriage, the king of conflicts of interest. Today's word picture has a point along the lines of 'To thine own self be true'...

Tarot Readings for You for August 25, 2014 Monday(c)

Guidance Here's this too-sexy-for-his-shirt sort of man, the one with the charisma that draws the human females to stand as close to him as they dare. Here's the manly father who is crazy about and devoted to his children. Here's the man with influence and money who has a romance with his equal. We are being, and we are looking at, this fellow here today, at the styles of romance this kind of guy engages in. We are also talking about having a devoted father, and having a close friend who is i...

Tarot Readings for You for August 23, 2014 Saturday(c)

Guidance My dream is to get together with likeminded people whom I can trust, pool our labor and resources, and make something great for all of us. Camaraderie among solid citizens: its time has to come. The future belongs to people who can distill and concentrate goodwill, which is the major human achievement. Goodwill, after all, is the king of intangible assets. Like any great achievement that involves more than one person, the plan is essential, the plan that gives everyone what ensures ...

Tarot Readings for You for August 22, 2014 Friday(c)

Guidance There comes a time – always, to all of us – that things all go sideways at the same time. The scene is changed by that invisible hand, and there is no right thing to do, no smart move. We are stuck in a vacuum waiting for a breeze. Paralysis, at times like this, is not only normal but fairly smart. You can have all the despair you want, and that's okay, that's normal. You are in a cocoon, and a major involuntary turning point is ahead – almost always a new and better life. This is one...

Tarot Readings for You for August 20, 2014 Wednesday(c)

Guidance Today we get a 'distant early warning.' “This is your invitation to bounce back. You are changing your ways and not having to suffer.” Don't keep going along numbly passing up the refueling stations until your wake up call happens. Adversity wakens the walking dead efficiently; it can make us change by stopping us in our tracks. Exhaustion leads to sickness, we are reminded, and also advised not to tell someone something that will devastate him or her. It is a eureka realizat...

Tarot Readings for You for August 19, 2014 Tuesday(c)

Guidance Here we are talking about belonging, and not belonging, again. Today's emphasis is on: Put a few humans together, and there's a clash and someone is on the outs with the others. Sometimes it's just tribal instinct. Sometimes it's because you ain't their kind, or they ain't yours. Sometimes somebody said or did something that isn't gospel around here. Sometimes it's their values you rebel against, or vice versa – and this is often felt as a morality issue. These clashes - which are me...

Tarot Readings for You for August 17, 2014 Sunday(c)

Guidance Rejection and belonging go together like marriage and divorce, like family and relatives. Oh to be equally indifferent to things that please and people who don't! Today we look at attitudes around being 'in' or 'out.' Our headlines tell it all, I think: Tune Out and Be Happy; I Want to Be Alone; Happy to be Excluded; They Don't Want Me Around. The overall mood of today's message is humorous: We take out our membership cards and maybe burn them with a grin, or we examine why and how...

Tarot Readings for You for August 16, 2014 Saturday(c)

Guidance Today we take our worries out and play with them, make fun of them, expose them to the light of what's really up. Having nothing to worry about, we point out, gives us that apprehensive feeling. Be so afraid of fear that you don't go there. Stress itself isn't the problem … duh. Worried about your looks? - you're not ugly enough to qualify for that. Scary things aren't scary unless you're afraid of them. Things like ending a bad habit come with a price of some stress … so what? You're...
