Tarot Readings for You for July 4, 2018 Wednesday© Email

Here’s a special Wednesday treat for all of you who do your own Tarot using this site as a library of combined meanings of Tarot cards. The treat is a peek into why your question should include pertinent factors that the cards are not precise about. The big factors are dates, person(s), and time.

Ask ‘who did it’ and you get a description you may not recognize. Ask the motive of who did it, and you will get a description of the scene that usually tells you whodunit. Don’t ask ‘when’ about anything because Tarot is mass-consciousness based ‘out there’ or ‘in there’ somewhere, and isn’t earthbound with clocks and calendars. Instead, you ask ‘Will X happen in Y time?’ as I call it. Not ‘When will he call?’ but ‘Will he call this week?’ That converts the question into a yes-or-no one which Tarot will answer well (or pretty well) giving details that are applicable (cogent).

First thing here is the question I did answer for our client ‘as modified.’ She wants to know ‘what a relationship is going to become,’ not specifying the relationship. Tarot Verbatim is fine (is excellent, really) with that. With no background, however, once the cards talk about marriage and leaving or switching, you as the reader don’t know who’s who. The answer is to be from Client’s perspective, but you don’t know which position Client occupies unless that is in the ‘history.’ And there’s no history required in these cold Email readings. This is why the instructions on the Email Reading tab suggest saying whether love interest is married

I wrote Client, and when she did not respond right away, simply modified the question to include just Dude and her. That is the first set of spreads you see.

Then Client answers with history and perspectives. Tarot did rise to the occasion in its answer.

THEN I include the original set of cards which are confusing to apply if you don’t know the history. Now, you can put these together and see how to handle this – how to phrase a general relationship question which gives no identity of parties or background.

Hi Emily,

Thank you for this.

He is not married, but recently divorced with all sorts of drama with manipulative ex and 2 very manipulative/manipulated kids.

In this sense, even though we are very much in a committed relationship (it’s been almost 2 years, and we met well after his separation but during the final months of divorce litigation), I guess I am the other woman because of all the claws and fangs still gripping him and pulling him in directions his heart does not agree with?

I should add that he has said many time that he will “never get married again”… perhaps he is conflicted about that belief and the prospect of me walking away from him and the drama that he may have to continue to deal with for the next several years…

Ten of Wands

Going slow, overloaded, difficult task with slow progress. His story is that he took on the whole backbreaking load to save a trip. Underlying assumption is that Mr. Ten of Wands makes it through despite his slow progress, one step at a time, and also that there is good reason for what he has chosen to endure. He is not putting up with something frivolously: He has a goal and is achieving it.

Ten of Wands is about too much, too many, a lot, very, all. Ten of Wands is also about slow, eventually, long term and long time, awhile, always, forever, long lasting. Once in a while Ten of Wands will translate: comprehensive, deep, the whole thing.

Ten of Wands tends to express the extremes of things as well. It’s a big strain, it’s deep, depressed to the max. Ten of Wands sometimes translates ‘extremely.’

Lovers

Lovers is one of several cards that translates as pronouns – plural pronouns in Lovers’ case: we, they, our, their. Lovers also translates as words that indicate people – both of us, each other, the couple, the partners.

Lovers is all about togetherness and being together in various ways: by my side, joint, partner.

Lovers often translates ‘connection’ and ‘connect’ even when people are not involved. ‘The connection between’ – any kind of connection.

Ace of Pentacles equates success and being well-off with being on the right path. If you see that the hand with the gold in it is above the golden path, the path that begins with white lilies (purity of course) and ends with the arch of victory as a rose trellis, you will place Ace of Pentacles in all its applications comfortably.

So you see a road, or a path. That’s one of Ace of Pentacles’ favorite words. The right path also gives Ace of Pentacles the word ‘right’ in all its ramifications, including ‘rightful.’

You see the hand with the gold in it. That gives Ace of Pentacles all its financial and money applications, and all its ‘give’ and ‘get’ and ‘pay’ meanings. To spend money, to be paid, to be rich, to be rewarded – all those things.

Success is one of Ace of Pentacles’ meanings. A lot of Rider Waite Tarot cards mean success and achievement.

Another class of Ace of Pentacles words and meanings involve the concept of ‘best.’ Words like these: just fine, highest, perfect, real.

Arriving is included in both Ten of Wands and Ace of Pentacles. Ten of Wands emphasizes the effort, and Ace of Pentacles emphasizes the success. Lovers suggests both people are involved in the story somehow, or that the great effort to arrive on the right path is a joint one. You see the path, the route, in Ace of Pentacles. Four of Swords ………. The prone figure can be interpreted as staying or remaining, and also as being indifferent and not participating. It means to not respond, to not do, to be indifferent. It is also sleep, rest, retire and retirement, and ‘the deceased,’ although it very rarely means death. Without a question to focus the answer, four cards can mean contradictory things especially when the Spread has a card that negates other cards. Without a question also the pronouns in a group reading are more flexible, especially in some of these Rider Waite Tarot spreads. When a pronoun is in parentheses, feel very free to substitute. The question in a ‘real’ individual reading supplies at least half the information!

Meanings and Illustrations: Observation of the Spread

This message is for and about men: It’s about making love and making money. Knight of Pentacles and Magician each are male-focus cards. Magician is male who acts; Knight of Pentacles is male who knows, who has one thing he is interested in, and he is a very physical tough-guy sort. So we have the think and the do.

To the left of this, we have lovers; to the right we have money and success. Beautiful balance there, yes? Love and money and a guy who’s gonna do it.

Meanings and Illustrations: Individual Rider Waite Tarot Cards

Lovers Juxtaposition of concepts here: A guardian angel (with red and green hair) oversees Adam and Eve (complete with her tree with the snake and his ‘tree of life’) naked with a volcano between them, on a sunny noon.

In real life, besides the obvious meaning in the title, Lovers talks about a connection or connecting, about partners or teaming up.

Magician Male taking action. Any form of ‘do’ or ‘make,’ To bring about or bring down. Sometimes, to make it happen. Illustration (in all or most decks) shows the magician raising his wand, the tools of his trade expressed in the symbols of the four suits of Tarot.

Ace of Pentacles is success, the right way, money in hand. It embodies the idea that if you do right you are rewarded with riches. The hand with money in it is over the ‘straight and narrow’ path, lilies in front and roses garlanding the far gate.

Knight of Pentacles has one thing on his mind, is very ambitious for himself, a muscle man, a tough guy. He and his horse are short and dark and edgy. To concentrate on one thing, to know one thing.

Romantic Perspective:
The right time for the couple to divorce.
Lovers quarrel in the best of relationships.
A love relationship has its perfect times and its fighting times.
Sometimes things go right and sometimes lovers break up.
Perfect love with occasional clashes.

Love relationships have their ups and downs, you go from being so right to being so hated.
Make the best of the adverse times with the one you love.
You go through hard times best when you love one another.
Together you can go through both favorable and stormy times.
You’re right for each other but sooner or later you’re going to quarrel.

Business Perspective:
Profit cycles strain partnerships.
Do have protection against adverse financial cycles.
The two of them keep disputing the money.
The ups and downs of the cash flow is a heartache for the partners.
They put their joint money in at a difficult phase of the market.

Advice: An attitude of acceptance about the risk we take when we are in cahoots with another person – whether it’s a love or a business relationship – actually strengthens the union as well as lessening our stress about it. (If you don’t think you have to succeed at getting along, you are more likely to.) Realizing the bond we two are getting into just might be severed strengthens the likelihood that we two will continue doing our shared interest together. Our advice is about weathering difficult times by realizing that change – cycles, ups and downs – is always afoot, is ongoing ad nauseum. Then comes, in the Two of Pentacles, a cycle of ups and downs which also suggests ‘sometimes,’ ‘once in a while,’ ‘phase,’ and ‘occasional,’ – words similar to that. Illustration shows a juggler and some ships going up and down on waves.

Lastly is the Three of Swords, with knives going through a heart, which contributes words such as: divorce, adverse, dispute, difficult, clash, heartache, fighting, hatred.
