Guidance

Did you know most of the major financial fortunes grew out of market disasters? – and that fortunes are perpetuated by clever investing in times everyone is losing it – in both senses of ‘losing it’? And, playing it back, would you say that major turning points in your life occur when things are ‘up in the air,’ and could go any of several ways? That’s often the case. The unexpected opportunity comes knocking when you’re half-dressed; and when you find the needle in the haystack, it’s because you sat on it.

Could This Be You?

You feel how individual card meanings reach out and blend, unite, into a sentence. (You can learn this – yes, you!) Your subconscious awareness sees the image and its feeling and your conscious awareness sees the language meaning, the text… so your two minds focus together to see 3D, three dimensionally, the same way your two eyes see depth that one eye does not.

Seven of Cups

Seven of Cups

Just when you think your magic touch has it all under control, that’s when it all goes out of control. Ever notice that? Even the Hindenburg, the Titanic, Rely tampons … all articles of perfection … presented shocking out-of-control problems.

The illustration shows a magician who has lost control of the spirits that are his business. And when things have gone all kerflooey, that’s just the time you pick the track up that you lost back there, as the dust settles (See the cloud of dust there?). Seven of Cups shows this potential blessing chaos contains: See the cup with the veil over it? – that’s the good spirit who can save the day … not yet let loose.

Seven of Cups illustrates the Sorcerer’s Apprentice and Pandora’s Box stories, both of which involve evil spirits accidentally let loose, and the (one) good spirit accidentally still caged.

That theme of some benefit arising from making a mess of things is emphasized and echoed by today’s presence of Wheel of Fortune, the benefit that happens.

Ace of Wands

Ace of Wands

Ace of Wands is the herd bull. The herd bull is a study of mine – will write a pamphlet on the subject for the world’s benefit, someday when time allows. Ace of Wands is the biggest, the most …. ‘Macho’ is a good catch-all term for Ace of Wands. To illustrate this point, and to clarify Ace of Wands’ major meanings, here are its words from today’s sentences:

ATTACK BIG SURE THING MAKING
BIG ONE TOTALLY SEX
WORST (BIG) MAKING ALL-OUT EFFORT HAVE TO MAKE THE VERY
BIGGEST SOME DAMNED THING GREAT THING TREMENDOUSLY
ONE BIG MAKE THE BEST OF ONE MAJOR
AGAINST YOU ARE BIGGER BIG TIME
SEX ONE OF YOU HAVE TO MAKE
NEEDLE ZERO IN ON JUST ONE OF THEM I’M JUST THE ONE TO MAKE
ACHIEVEMENT THE BIG ONE ONLY THE MOST

But in other spreads Ace of Wands spreads out its wings more, even meaning a pen. Today, though, its wings are clipped to what you see here.

Wheel of Fortune

Wheel of Fortune

Wheel of Fortune is a very esoteric card, maybe the most esoteric of all. Not today though. I have written about its spiritual application extensively. If that is what you are looking for, type ‘Wheel of Fortune Tarot Verbatim’ into Google, and you will get that esoteric material on Wheel of Fortune. Its common applications in real mundane life are ‘It happens’ or an event occurs, and all about lucking out financially.

Today, Wheel of Fortune appear in the context of: payoff, it pays off, windfall, quick profit, unexpected. Wheel of Fortune is a bonus, a jackpot, a lucky break, a big chance or opportunity.

And today, Wheel of Fortune appears in the context of making something happen when things are out of control. To show you how our subject puts this Wheel of Fortune into a strait jacket, here are what Wheel of Fortune is saying today – and that’s all:

WHEEL OF FORTUNE NOW IS YOUR LUCKY TIME. HAPPENS
MAKES YOUR DAY YOUR MIRACLE EVENT MAKE THE VERY BEST
YOUR BIG CHANCE MIRACLE HAS PAID OFF
STROKE OF LUCK MAKING IT HAPPEN TRIGGER EVENTS
SOMETHING GOES RIGHT IS HAPPENING FOR THE BEST PAYS OFF

Now Without The Pictures

Ace of Wands is total control; Seven of Cups is chaos. We study their confluence, their union, today.

Seven of Cups is many unrelated things, and Ace of Wands is the one big thing – like a needle in a haystack.

Ace of Wands is to force or make it, and Wheel of Fortune is ‘it happens,’ so we are making it … and all sorts of things in that haystack … happen.

Wheel of Fortune is also opportunity, and Ace of Wands makes it say ‘take advantage of opportunity.’

We even have all kinds of miracles, since Seven of Cups is obviously ‘all kinds of’ and, of course, Wheel of Fortune is the miracles.

Seven of Cups is things gone awry and Wheel of Fortune is destiny being favorable. Both these cards feature coincidence.

It happens (Wheel of Fortune) against (Ace of Wands) all the odds (Seven of Cups).

Even finding the needle in the haystack is here, in that Wheel of Fortune is the ‘finding,’ Ace of Wands is the needle, and Seven of Cups is the haystack.

Well, gee, we also have a chance (Wheel of Fortune) for wild and crazy (Seven of Cups) sex (Ace of Wands).

So, happy hunting to us all!

Seven of Cups – Wheel of Fortune – Seven of Wands

.

LEARN TAROT BY OBSERVING

.

……………….…………………...       Here we have a picture of everything going haywire at once in the most wonderful way, and you having to act without thinking. It doesn’t feel wonderful – you are in a panic – but when the dust settles, it was magic good-fairy dust from the good end of destiny. Spirits are afoot in two out of three of these cards (Seven of Cups and Wheel of Fortune) and two out of three of these cards are about being confronted and having to handle an out-of-control situation (Seven of Cups and Seven of Wands). All three of these are about ‘the odds.’

………………………..      Seven of Cups: Everything falls apart all at once, the poop hits the fan, things are ‘way out of control, and got that way all at once. You are confronted with a multifaceted out-of-control scenario. The evil spirits are on the loose from Pandora’s Box or Sorcerer’s Apprentice. Note the veiled cup in the middle: That was the good spirit in the story. Seven of Cups is shock, insane people and senseless situations. It means ‘messed-up’ and it means ‘all sorts of things.’ The illustration shows all sorts of unrelated things in a cloud, confronting the dude who thought he was in control.

………………………..      Wheel of Fortune: It happens! One chance in a million, and it happens for you! The kiss of destiny, the stroke of luck, things happen for the best coincidentally. Wheel of Fortune often translates ‘wonderful.’ It frequently says ‘opportunity.’ It says ‘chance’ meaning both ‘your big chance’ and ‘coincidence.’ Wheel of Fortune too shows the influence of mischievous spirits in human affairs. And it too shows the ‘good spirit,’ in this case God: The Hebrew letters for the Name of God are in the center of that roulette-wheel.

…………..…………..    Seven of Wands is being confronted by chaos, similarly to Seven of Cups. Seven of Wands’ neighbors get together to take his land, and he wakes up to fight them unexpectedly. He is fighting against the odds (obviously!) but is expected to win. (Most mammals whose turf is challenged win the fight.) This makes ALL THREE of our cards relate to ‘the odds,’ to the role of coincidence.

……….…………..       Seven of Cups and Wheel of Fortune   Seven of Cups and Wheel of Fortune show good and evil spirits in their drawing. Seven of Cups is a cloud of mischievous spirits with the good-fairy spirit veiled in the center. (Remember, she is let loose later in the story.) Wheel of Fortune shows the Name of God in Hebrew letters in the center of the Wheel of Fortune, and all sorts of spirit beings, some evil … and some look okay to me. That red lizard is definitely a bad-guy spirit – I remember it from William Rice Burroughs’ rantings.

Seven of Cups is things going awry and Wheel of Fortune is destiny’s favor making things happen – ta-da! – for the best – just as unexpectedly as in Seven of Cups. So we have Coincidence controlling the scene in both of these cards’ concepts. You could say Lady Luck rules the day.

………..…………..   Seven of Cups and Seven of Wands Both Seven of Cups and Seven of Wands involve being confronted on-the-spot by an out-of-control situation, and both of these Rider Waite Tarot cards also involve getting control against the odds of a situation like that. The fellows in both pictures are in a defensive and shocked stance: See how they are standing?

………..…………..   Seven of Cups and Seven of Wands Wheel of Fortune and Seven of Wands are strongly about ‘the odds.’ That is what Wheel of Fortune is all about – is it’s main message – and Seven of Wands is expected to win his struggle against heavy odds. Both of these are optimistic cards – both are about winning.

They say ‘Things come in threes.’ We have all counted and found that to apply pretty well, in our lives and in the lives of people we follow. We have all found that sometimes we have the fairy dust: We sparkle, and people come to us, and lucky things happen to us. Now is one of those times with you, today’s cards say. And of course this applies to not just today but to what is hatched today and in the next few days NOW IS THE TIME TO PLANT THE SEED! Now is the time to ‘tell the universe’ or tell God what your dream is.

Seven of Cups  ………   “Oh my God” could be Seven of Cups’ title. You are NOT ready for this, and you don’t have a handle on it. But here it is, in your face, and you’re gonna hafta do something. It could go either way … or any way, and it involves the luck of the draw, so to speak. Seven of Cups is one of those times when what you do with this shocking situation right now is very very momentous. The picture is about Pandora’s Box or Sorcerer’s Apprentice, two myths about good and evil spirit influences on people’s lives.

.

Wheel of Fortune ………….   Destiny is the overt and upfront theme of Wheel of Fortune (Duh!). Arrayed around the wheel of destiny (yours, mine, theirs, ours) are all sorts of spirit beings, some with books and looking like good guys maybe, some looking fairly iffy, and one or two definitely evildoers (the red lizard for sure, and I ain’t so sure about the turquoise sphinx with the sword). But in the center of Wheel of Fortune’s glyph are the four Hebrew letters that represent God himself.

.

Seven of Wands ……….   Some days before you get yourself awake, before you get your boots on, a call to action gets you into the thick of things. “All hands on deck” is a Seven of Wands call. The neighbors are trespassing, and this time they are armed and aim to steal what’s yours. Your adrenalin is pumping, you’ve got your weapon even if you didn’t get both shoes on, and you’re beating the opposition.

Tarot Readings for You for October 27, 2013 Sunday(c)

Guidance     is about scary times and scary things, about worrying and about concentrating on one thing you can make the best of when everything is going every which way.  Focus creates optimum results when things are out of kilter and worrisome.  When your nerves are a wreck about things being out of control, remember miracles too are out of control.  He knows how to get rich off of irrational fears.  You could aim for being scary instead of being scared.

Are YOU here for the first time? Come in!

People love this place! Our site is divided into four sections: Guidance, Tarot Readings, Learn Tarot by Observation, and Learn Tarot by Pictures.

.
If you just want your daily look ahead, Guidance and Tarot Readings are all you need. ‘Guidance’ (above) is a summary of what the cards are telling visitors to be aware of this day.

‘Group Tarot Cards Reading’ (just below this) is the actual word-for-word messages to everyone. These readings are about you and the people around you.  They are about today and the days around it. So, go ahead and pick the sentences you feel are yours and decide whether to encourage or reject them for yourself.

Did you come here for your predictions? – You are done now – See you tomorrow. The family of commenters here would love for you to join in (the very last thing, at the bottom).

Tarot Reading: Keep One Good Thing in Mind (Knight of Pentacles and Wheel of Fortune)

Worry about all kinds of stuff, but concentrate on the best possible outcome.

When bad dreams are out of control, focus on the miracle.

All kinds of things at once that you don’t understand are stressful, so it’s best to zero in on just one.

As coincidences go wild, I worry about only one thing.

I am holding onto the thought of the one that is happening, as there as so many others that worry me.

Concentrate on one thing that makes it happen for the best instead of stressing over all the ones that mess it up.

A simple man who knows just one thing is lucky when others are scared and confused.

When he is in the shit, he focuses on winning the million-to-one odds, and he does.

Focus creates optimum results when things are out of kilter and worrisome.

Tarot Readings: Be Scary instead of Scared (Nine of Swords and Knight of Pentacles)

He makes it happen by deliberately scaring everyone out of their minds.

He is one out-of-control scary punk, and we lucked out.

When things get totally out-of-control, it’s best to aim at being scary instead of being scared.

Tarot Readings: Fears out of control (Nine of Swords and Seven of Cups)

When your nerves are a wreck about things being out of control, remember miracles are out of control.

One big irrational fear of karma/destiny.

Your imagination can run away with you unless you focus it on the best possible outcome.

Distractions get to you as you make one wonderful thing happen.

A tough guy is all you need to win the day when you are frazzled with fears.

He knows how to get rich off of irrational fears.

He knows how (they) worry about everything; it’s his ace in the hole.

Up nights with imaginary fears, it’s wonderful to have that strong man around.

The fear that the ‘one big one’ is going to happen and reduce things to rubble.

Now,  Part Two,

Do you want to know a little, or a lot, about how this Tarot Verbatim™ thing works? If so,

*Go to Learn Tarot by Observing section below. This tells about the combined four pictures in the Tarot Readings – the pictures above here.  It explains how these four cards get together in your mind to make the messages.

*Go to Learn Tarot by Pictures.  It is what each of the four cards, by itself, has to say.  It shows you how that illustration makes that card’s meanings in today’s Spread. All the words of each Tarot card reading you see here are a phrase-by-phrase translation of the scene pictured on those cards: no filler, no psychic impressions, no spirit guide. Word-for-word Tarot Verbatim™.

You can put all this together and intuitively see yourself how Tarot Verbatim™ works.

This is a group reading, with no Questioner and no Question to limit what the cards say, so there’s more variety – even contradictions – and also the pronouns are more flexible. If it feels like it’s yours, and it says ‘he,’ and you’re a ‘she,’ feel free to adopt it anyway.

Wheel of Fortune

Nine of Swords – Seven of Cups – Knight of Pentacles

LEARN TAROT BY OBSERVING

.

Nothing like starting out with two cards that mean ‘nightmare.’  Nine of Swords is up nights crying, having bad dreams, stress and being in fear. Seven of Cups is a nightmarish out-of-control situation. It illustrates the Sorcerer’s Apprentice story. That cloud can be a natural disaster – a clutter of debris or a storm cloud.

Knight of Pentacles is a strong man, a tough guy, (even a punk). Knight of Pentacles is about being focused on what is important, keeping one thing in mind. Priorities.

Wheel of Fortune luck and coincidence (destiny and karma and Lady Luck). In real life, Wheel of Fortune is a blessing, is good luck – is the miracle, the optimum outcome. Its deeper meaning says both divine and infernal nonphysical factors interfere in our mundane physical affairs.

Nine of Swords and Wheel of Fortune mean describe sweating it out, only a miracle can save the day. They can also say ‘afraid that would happen’ or ‘what you most fear happens.’

Seven of Cups and Knight of Pentacles is keeping your mind on priority as things fall apart; it is concentrating on what is important when there are distractions.

Seven of Cups and Wheel of Fortune is “A miracle is also something out of control.” It is the needle in the haystack, the one chance in a million. It is the shock we have when something goes right.

So today’s message is that when things look and feel really scary, focus on one thing that can happen that will change it all for the best.

LEARN TAROT BY PICTURES

.

Nine of Swords    Scary stuff, and no one’s around to see you hurting. You wake up upset, put your head in your hands, and let all the worry out. My nerves are a wreck; it’s getting to me. Children have night terrors too. Dark-night-of-the-soul experiences overwhelm us in quiet time.

Seven of Cups     Chaos, confusion, bizarre experience that makes no sense and is overwhelming, a bad dream.  Illustration shows the phantasmagoria of the Sorcerer’s Apprentice story and/or the Pandora’s Box story.  The person beholds spirits of all sorts, out of control and is in shock. Things are out of context and out of control, the excrement has hit the fan, and you are in shock beholding the mess.

Knight of Pentacles is focused, concentrates on one thing, is a strong man, even a tough guy. He is a sturdy muscled fellow on a sturdy horse. He and the horse he rode in on are short and stocky.  And he stares at that one thing he’s got his eye on.

Wheel of Fortune happens, happens for the best, and the best happens.  Optimum.  Luck.  Hitting the jackpot.  Illustration shows all sorts of occult symbols around the wheel which looks like a roulette wheel, telling us both angels and devils influence our day.

Tarot Readings for You for February 26, 2013 Tuesday(c)

Guidance      What works doesn’t make sense when you are dealing with destiny.  It often doesn’t make sense at other times, too:  Some of my most brilliant moves were blunders.  We contemplate the function of chaos here, how things getting messy and out of control produces some good effects. Some of our examples are:

*My opportunity to be in the loop at work comes with the shakeup.

*Miracles of healing when these unrelated things are done regularly.

*A mixed-up relationship is a chance to work things out.

*It’s one crazy wonderful thing after another with us.

Instructions:

Are YOU here for the first time?  Come in!  People love this place!  Our site is divided into four sections: Guidance, Tarot Readings, Learn Tarot by Observation, and Learn Tarot by Pictures.
If you just want your daily look ahead, Guidance and Tarot Readings are all you need.  ‘Guidance’ is a summary of what the cards are generally advising visitors to be aware of that day.  ‘Tarot Readings’ is the actual word for word messages the cards are conveying.  Tarot can come up with a wide variety of sentences (sometimes even completely contradictory sentences!) in a group reading as there is no specific question being asked.  So, go ahead and pick the sentences you feel are yours and decide whether to encourage or reject them for yourself.

Tarot Readings:  Close Relationship (Temperance)

It’s one crazy wonderful thing after another with us.

A mixed-up relationship is a chance to work things out.

I’m shocked – one chance after another to be with you.

As erratic as I am, I’m lucky to keep up this relationship.

We are in a mess of our own making, it’s our destiny.

If someone keeps associating with me, they just happen to go crazy.

Every time we are intimate, it is flat-out wonderful in a new and different way.

I am working on intimacy happening in all the best ways.

You have all kinds of chances to have one close relationship after another.

As soon as I’m with someone regularly, it turns out they’re wildly imaginative.

Tarot Reading:  Things that Happen at Work (Wheel of Fortune + Eight of Pentacles)

My partner has a wonderful job but is out of control.

Amazing to have a chance to work together.

My buddy does the most wonderful work, of all kinds.

We are working on a lot of high-money deals.

A chance to work with the most amazing associates.

Unbelievable luck to work with my best friend.

Working on a one-chance-in-a-million deal.

Things are crazy at work; I have a chance to make partner.

Job opportunities abound for people who can work hand-in-hand with anyone at all.

An opportunity to be in the loop at work comes with the shakeup.

All kinds of opportunities to work one-on-one with dementia patients.

 Miscellaneous Tarot Readings
Every time we get together, we have the best high.
Miracles of healing when these unrelated things are done regularly.
My partner’s gambling is frequent and out of control.
We are in this mess together, making something wonderful of it.
What works doesn’t make sense when you are dealing with destiny.
Our destiny is to work with our angel on the chaos.
Together we steadily chip away at making the best of the chaos.

.

Eight of Pentacles

Seven of Cups – Temperance – Wheel of Fortune

.

.

LEARN TAROT BY OBSERVING

.

The closest we come to a theme today is that Eight of Pentacles is ‘job’ and Wheel of Fortune means ‘opportunity.’  You could also say Temperance is a close relationship and Seven of Cups means crazy, out of control, and a lot of different kinds of them.  That’s about it. Four unrelated cards in Tarot Verbatim(TM) signal ‘story time.’

Seven of Cups is a jumble of unrelated and unsorted items, so it means out of control, chaos or chaotic, confusing, overwhelming – even shocking.  It means a mess, debris, pollution, a (toxic) cloud, being high (especially anything involving smoke), and imagination gone wild in any form.

Temperance is dealing with someone, a deal, closely associated, intimate relationship, partners, hand-to-hand, healing, an angel, being together, ‘the two of us,’ and keeping in touch – being in the loop, being responsive in a back-and-forth communication of any kind.

Wheel of Fortune is about the role of coincidence as destiny.   It suggests that otherworldly (spiritual) influences affect coincidence.  All sorts of mythical critters, with books, surround a circle which looks like a roulette wheel, and which has the Name of God in Hebrew letters interspersed with four letters that read ‘rota’ and ‘taro.’ In the center, these eight letters have clock-like hands pointing to them.  Wheel of Fortune is a miracle, a good thing happening, happening for the best, destiny, karma, luck (usually good), opportunity, chance, wonderful and wonderfully.  It is also gambling.

Eight of Pentacles keeps doing something productive.  Its accent is on the steady, consistent, repetitive effort and on the work.  Eight of Pentacles is work, worker, labor, employment, working class, working it out, working on it, being the one who actually does the hands-on part.  ‘Steadily’ is its core meaning, so it means to steadily be as well as to steadily do. Eight of Pentacles is down-to-earth practical and plain:  It is hardly ever linked with ploys, manipulation, games or conspiracy.

What works doesn’t make sense when you are dealing with destiny.  It often doesn’t make sense at other times, too:  Some of my most brilliant moves were blunders.  We contemplate the function of chaos here, how things getting messy and out of control produces some good effects. Some of our examples are:  *My opportunity to be in the loop at work comes with the shakeup.  *Miracles of healing when these unrelated things are done regularly.  *A mixed-up relationship is a chance to work things out.  *It’s one crazy wonderful thing after another with us.

LEARN TAROT BY PICTURES

.

Seven of Cups is a jumble of unrelated and unsorted items, so it means out of control, chaos or chaotic, confusing, overwhelming – even shocking.  The story of bad spirits getting loose and making chaos (Sorcerer’s Apprentice or Pandora’s Box) is illustrated here.  Seven of Cups means a mess, debris, pollution, a (toxic) cloud, being high (especially anything involving smoke), delusion and hallucinations or imagination or the creative mind.  It also means a dream or nightmare.

Temperance is dealing with someone, a deal, closely associated, intimate relationship, partners, hand-to-hand, healing, an angel, being together, ‘the two of us,’ and keeping in touch – being in the loop, being responsive in a back-and-forth communication of any kind. It should mean dilution and flow, what with the wine and water being poured back and forth to blend them, but in real Tarot Verbatim(TM) life, it just doesn’t happen – to me at least.  This card is one of the more artificial ones that were added in Europe to deflect the Catholic Church’s prosecution of Tarot users as witches.

Wheel of Fortune is about the role of coincidence as destiny and as the interplay of otherworldly (spiritual) influences. It is also gambling and can be Lady Luck at times.

Eight of Pentacles keeps doing something productive.  The carpenter makes one pentacle after another. (It eschews artifice.)

EXPLANATIONS:

Each and every ‘Tarot Reading’ sentence you see is a literal interpretation of the four Rider Waite Tarot cards drawn and pictured for today. (The literal interpretation is from the illustration on each card.) These sentences are put together by only combining the phrases of what each cards says. In other words, there are NO “filler” phrases added just to make full sentences, and no psychic ability or spirit guide is ever involved.

*Without a question* in a group reading to focus the answer, the four Tarot cards can mean quite contradictory things, especially when the Spread has a card that means ‘no,’ ‘never’ or ‘not.’ These negative modifiers can apply to any one of the other cards.
*Without a question* in a group reading, the pronouns (you, him, her, me, us, them, they, etc.) are more flexible. Whenever you see a pronoun in parentheses, please *feel very free* to substitute another pronoun than the one used. I try to drop pronouns when possible, which, if you’ve noticed, can make for awkward phrasing.

Now in an ‘real’ individual reading, the questioner asks a specific question and thereby supplies at least half the information! In an individual situation, the parties are identified and sometimes a time frame is too. Here, in a group reading we cannot do that and so we get a variety of sentences.

Horoscopes are group readings, too. Astrology is based on someone else’s birth data, though, so a ‘solar’ group horoscope never really solidly applies to you! (Astrologers know this!)

Tarot, on the other hand, is perfectly capable of flexibly addressing any group, including all of the visitors that come to this site. It can also address people you might not even know personally, such as all the people at your job who have a say in whether or not you get a raise.

We have been wondering here lately whether the Tarot Verbatim(TM) sentences are more accurate for regular visitors than they are for people who visit this site only once in awhile or for a short time. Would you help us with a comment please, if you have not been a regular visitor? Just let us know if the sentences are relevant to you. So far, people say they do apply.

Return to this site often and you can put all this together and intuitively see yourself how Tarot Verbatim(TM) works. Regular visitors actually learn to read Rider Waite Tarot cards with very little effort.

MEANINGS AND ILLUSTRATIONS:  OBSERVATION OF THE SPREAD

Nothing like starting out with two of the cards that mean  ‘nightmare.’  Nine of Swords is up nights crying,  having bad dreams and being in fear.  Seven of Cups is a nightmarish out-of-control situation. It can be a natural disaster with a cloud of debris or a storm cloud.

But Knight of Pentacles is a strong man,  a tough guy,  or even a punk,  and is is focused;  he has one thing on his mind;  and Wheel of Fortune is the miracle,  good luck,  the best possible happening.

So we have mostly an  ‘All’s well that ends well’  story.

MEANINGS AND ILLUSTRATIONS:  INDIVIDUAL RIDER WAITE TAROT CARDS

Nine of Swords Oh,  woe is me.  Up nights sweating in fear and crying and worrying.  My nerves are a wreck,  this is getting to me.  Wah.  Night terrors,  children have them too.  That’s what the picture shows:  A person upright in bed,  holding his or her head like we do when we are overwhelmed,  for whatever reason,  by the dark-night-of-the-soul experiences.

Knight of Pentacles is focused,  concentrates on one thing,  is a strong man,  a tough guy.  Forest Gump with big muscles.  He is pictured as a sturdy fellow on a sturdy horse.  They both look short and stocky.  And he stares at the one thing.

Wheel of Fortune happens,  happens for the best,  and the best happens.  Optimum.  Luck.  Hitting the jackpot.  Illustration shows all sorts of occult symbols around the wheel which looks like a roulette wheel.

Advice points out that we make our destiny when we allow or disallow influences and factors and people into our life space. “Wish I had never met you” or “You’ll never get another chance like that.” These destiny points come on cat feet and are heard in hindsight mode. Whether to go with this flow, or whether to exert influence on it: That is the question. ‘If’ and ‘What if’ are best reviewed in foresight mode.

Seven of Cups

Eight of Swords, Strength, Wheel of Fortune

DAILY MESSAGE TAROT ANALYSIS Tell the visitors here something useful and meaningful to them.

Laissez-faire Perspective

When you overcome limitations you impose on yourself, possibilities never before seen open up.

Doing what you were kept from doing allows all kinds of new things to happen.

Anything can happen when you use your personal power to keep “can’t” from getting to you.

What keeps opportunity stifled is you handling a lot of random meaningless things.

What prevents miracles is people who won’t let things get loose.

If you can’t let it out, let it fly, you are keeping it from happening.

Destiny is beyond our control, we can’t stifle it.

When you don’t let either the chaos or the limitations get to you, things happen for the best.

One chance in a million but she overcomes those impossible odds.

Enforcement Perspective

Your big break can’t happen until you get a grip on your craziness.

When you’re not in control, events get out of hand.

Things can’t get out of control when you make an opportunity to tame the opposition.

The chief limiting factor to things getting out of control is people who do have control of destiny.

What keeps all kinds of things from happening is self-discipline.

What keeps you from going crazy is your chance to tame those demons.

It can’t happen any old way, you restrain it.

Having control of what happens prevents chaos.

Meanings and Illustrations: Observation of the Spread

Our four Rider Waite Tarot cards today are an interesting mix: The basic meanings are limitations; to control limitations; events happen; out of control. So we have a theme that contrasts being in control with letting things happen.

Both Eight of Swords and Strength refer to limitations. Eight of Swords in Tarot Verbatim ™ Rider Waite means can’t, helpless, be kept from, unable, contained and restrained. Strength means to keep an opposing factor from affecting, to keep the opposition down, to keep uncivilized behavior from occurring, to contain chaos. So here, together, you have the stifled thing and the person who stifles it.

Wheel of Fortune and Seven of Cups each refer to events happening. Wheel of Fortune is about the best thing, the miracle, happening. It is about destiny and luck (usually good luck). It refers to the factor coincidence plays in what happens. Seven of Cups in Rider Waite Tarot echoes the Pandora’s Box and the Sorcerer’s Apprentice stories. It is about things being out of control and ‘shit happening.’ It is about losing control (usually in a bad way). Seven of Cups with Chariot, for instance, could mean losing control of the vehicle. It is about all kinds of unrelated things jumbled up together like debris.

Strength and Wheel of Fortune are “good cards.” Strength is not letting bad stuff happen, and Wheel of Fortune is the best stuff happening.

Eight of Swords and Seven of Cups are “bad cards.” Eight of Swords is nothing can happen, gridlock, and Seven of Cups is everything happening at once senselessly (chaos).

Meanings and Illustrations: Individual Rider Waite Tarot Cards

Eight of Swords is about binding, keeping something/someone from doing or expressing. It’s Archie Bunker telling Edith: “Stifle yourself.” It is containment, confinement, restrictions and limitations. It’s about being helpless, hopeless, locked in or up, and dead.

The illustration in Rider Waite Tarot is a blindfolded woman tied up far away from (her?) castle, in a swamp, her head bent, not struggling.

Strength is not letting it get to you. It is about overcoming any factor, within or without, whose influence is detrimental to you … taming the beast, whether the beast is within you or is out there either lurking or openly confronting/attacking you.

Now, note she is petting the monster. He came on roaring and is now purring against his will because her strength of character is overcoming a predator. She has that symbol of eternity over her head and is wearing that white robe with flowers. She is using diplomacy. She is using the principle of jujitsu, restraining him with his own energy, not her own, which is less effort on her part to quieten him. I think this is what ‘Love your enemies’ is all about, but I’m a Viking, what do I know about that ?

Wheel of Fortune is things happening for the best, the optimum outcome. It means destiny, luck, a chance, opportunity, and an event. Its illustration shows all sorts of occult symbols, all of whom have books which suggests karma to me. The wheel in the middle looks like a roulette wheel.

Seven of Cups is out of control, random distribution, all sorts of unrelated things jumbled together … ‘up pops the devil.’ It’s Pandora’s Box and the Sorcerer’s Apprentice: chaos is let loose. It is the house after the tornado. The illustration in Rider Waite Tarot is the black robed figure confronted with a cloud of miscellaneous things as in a nightmare. Nightmare is one of its meanings – not here.

Rider-Waite tarot reading

He pulls off a totally amazing miracle

Wheel of Fortune
Seven of Cups, Ten of Wands, Magician

A chance to take on doing all those different things at once.
He is making a wonderful thing happen under very difficult, chaotic conditions.
A huge mess that he got himself into is happening.
He is doing something about an overwhelming out-of-control event.
To make the best thing happen any way you can under the most difficult circumstances.
Too many things, all kinds of things to do when this happens.
There’s a lot of confusion about what happens to him.
He did that when he was very confused, and this happened.
Gambling, one chance in a million that you eventually do what hits the jackpot.
All sorts of opportunities if you act on them long term.
It takes a long time and many different ways of doing it, but you win big.
To do (or to have done) all these things is miraculous.
Difficult to do all these things at once so that the best happens.
The odds are extremely long – one chance in a million – of actually doing what you are doing.
Things are so messed up for so long, and he pulls off a miracle.

Two cards here refer to gambling when taken together: The Seven of Cups and the Wheel of Fortune. Sooo … we’re still in lottery country. Now, I am not a gambler, so this isn’t my theme a’tall. Plus, we have the Magician, which is a man pulling it off, making it happen – or the act of pulling it off and making it happen.

Illustrations and Meanings:

Illustration shows a man with his hand raised up make something happen … so this card in this spread also echos the ‘happen’ of the Wheel of Fortune.  Today’s phrases for it are:

A chance or opportunity as well. It suggests destiny and karma. Usually it reflects positive good events. Here its phrases are:
