Guidance

What unites us is what we have in common, but part of what we have in common antagonizes us. What we hate most in people is the echo of what we know (upfront or down under) is wrong with, or about, us. A really good marriage is one where differences are aired before their pressure blows the pot up. That applies to neighborhoods too. Of course, what we have in common that keeps us together is not always the good things that are fit to print that we have in common. Sometimes having the same susceptibilities, the same weakness, is a bond for a sound relationship.

LEARN TAROT CARDS BY PICTURES Are you ready to begin learning Tarot Verbatim™? Here your in-depth meanings come alive for each of the three cards! In Tarot Verbatim™, pictures make the meaning, so each card is like a person you know and remember.

WITHOUT THE PICTURES For the true seeker of Tarot knowledge, here is what you need to know about how the three cards in today’s spread affect one another, and how to apply Tarot Verbatim™. Here too the cards come alive, together.

WHERE EACH PHRASE COMES FROM At a glance, with a color for each card, your subconscious picks up on how the sentences of GROUP TAROT CARDS READING came to be. You feel how individual card meanings reach out and blend, unite, into a sentence. (You can learn this – yes, you!) Your subconscious awareness sees the image and its feeling and your conscious awareness sees the language meaning, the text… so your two minds focus together to see 3D, three dimensionally, the same way your two eyes see depth that one eye does not.

PHRASES FOR ALL THREE TWO CARD COMBINATIONS Are you ready for the final step of this revolutionary Tarot Verbatim™ technique? Now to make it exceedingly plain and simple, we list the expressions each pair of cards makes. We list them in paragraph form rather than itemized so that they flow, and your subconscious clicks into place and ‘gets it.’ You may even find flashes of dreams or intuitive realities as you read these, at times.

The Rider Waite Tarot™ deck is a data bank in mass consciousness that your subconscious can communicate with. Tarot Verbatim™ is the Rosetta Stone that makes that communication easy because it is a bridge between conscious and subconscious thought. When both your levels of awareness focus together, you think intuitively in real time in ‘the real world.’

Bon voyage!

Synopsis

Right and wrong is all over the place. Can I be just as happy being wrong as being right? Why do I feel I’ve done wrong when I’m sick, and why do the well-off people feel they have done right? Do I deserve to be loved by you people – I’m so ugly? People get together and love one another so they have a right to hate some others – until the others straighten out their bad ways and join us good people. Yuk.

Justice

Justice

This is an easy card. The easiest part is applying it to any kind of any person or thing legal: courts, proceedings, judges, lawyers, police, courthouses, lawsuits, etc. Watch for justice processes without the court too – words like ‘resolving.’

Then expand the word ‘right’ in its many forms, so you get the right place, the right kind, so right, have rights, it’s all right, realistic, being right, it’s okay.

Justice is the way things should be: ‘Should’ is a key word for Justice. So you have normal, straight, straighten out, deserve, belongs there.

Devil

Devil

Rider-Waite uses the Christian devil; not all decks do. In the Marseilles deck, Devil is more like the mischievous god Loki in the Norse pantheon. Rider Waite’s childhood was medieval Europe where the Roman Catholic church’s condemnation could be fatal to a person. This is one of the cards designed to deflect the accusation that Tarot is the devil’s work, an accusation some Christians still level at Tarot, but they don’t kill you for it anymore. So Devil here is obviously meant to be a bad-guy Tarot card. It’s one of the cards, of course, for actual demons and black magic: See the black magic symbols here.

Devil is one of the cards with the most meanings. Save him for last; the other ones in your spread will be more obvious.

First, the picture. Devil is one of three cards that shows a couple, with something above and between them that is influencing them spiritually: Devil, Lovers, Two of Cups. Especially Devil and Lovers are about connection. Devil is about the influence of vice and habit; Lovers has the guardian angel; Two of Cups has the caduceus representing a conflicting undeclared interest of a third party which could be a spirit or spell.

So Devil represents the influence of humans’ lower self. Its underlying core meaning is that it’s your susceptibility to whatever the offending element is that connects you to it. This idea is represented by the loose chains around the couple’s necks while they are standing free. So Devil infers that your problem is your choice.

Here, first, are the neutral to not-so-bad Devil words and phrases: Attachment, a bond, even a connection – because of the chains. A bond expands to include ‘obligation’ and ‘obliged.’

The word ‘physical’ also belongs to Devil, especially ‘physical attachment’ or ‘physically attached,’ which could refer to a trailer hitch or stapled papers. ‘Stuck’ sometimes brings up Devil but is more likely to call forth Eight of Swords.

A habit can be a limiting bond. Devil can say ‘habit’ as well as refer to a bad habit like an addiction. Key is the bond.

Other fairly innocuous words Devil may give your sentence are: ugly; deformed; sick (including mentally sick), pain, suffering, depression and other feelings. ‘Deformed’ can refer to a machine part, not just your nose.

Now for the meat-and-potatoes Devil applications, many of which are shared with Moon: Think ‘wrong.’ It means that, and many of the other words it means are close by that. The wrong anything, like Devil-Ace of Pentacles is the wrong road.

Here are most of Devil’s meanings that grow one way or the other out of ‘wrong’: it’s immoral; a criminal; trouble; a problem; a terrible problem; differences or disagreements; a bad whatever; having a bad time of it; hates, what we are mad about; mad; ruins; condemned; fault and faults; taking the brunt of it; sexual perversion.

Lastly, occasionally, Devil represents negative parts of words like ‘mal’ as in malicious and ‘ill’ as in illegal.

Ten of Cups
Ten of Cups

Married with children, in a good neighborhood, and happy. You can relax now, it’s me, Ten of Cups. Ten of Cups is Us, is the good people. It’s marriage, being married, the spouse, happily ever after, and family. It’s even the house. You can almost think of it as Devil in reverse.

Ten of Cups often simply means ‘people’ and represents any size and any type of group of humans who have anything good in common. It also represents their getting together, or a get-together like a family reunion.

Ten of Cups is being in agreement, and is enjoying life. It says ‘one big happy family.’

Now Without The Pictures

Legal marriage and the devil, said I when I put these three on the table, ‘What am I going to do with this?’ As you can see, when I got into it, I did a lot with it.

The simplest story is the bad guy, Devil, straightens out, Justice, and lives happily ever after with Us.

The miscreant (bad guy) gets what he deserves with Justice, of course. But the good people (Ten of Cups) suffer (Devil) too. And someone who is sick or suffering becomes normal (Justice). We also come to agreement (Ten of Cups) about our disagreements (Devil). We are all happy in our rundown or bad neighborhood. On the other hand, I just hate (Devil) all those straight (Justice) well-adjusted people (Ten of Cups) because I’m perfectly happy (Ten of Cups) with my faults (Devil).

So we have stories galore today. Devil is in very good company, and he needs that.

………..………..………..………..

Page of Wands – Ten of Cups – Temperance

.

LEARN TAROT BY OBSERVING

.

……………….……………………   Both Ten of Cups and Temperance are people being close. Ten of Cups is the ‘one big happy family’ and Temperance is two people, who could be an intimate couple, but who could also be relating to one another directly in any way: a deal, a transaction, a face-to-face talk or transfer of something, sometimes even just propinquity (someone who is close by). Both Ten of Cups and Temperance infer a bond. Page of Wands is speaking, and is a good guy, a likable guy, and some type of person. Page of Wands emphasizes speaking up, speaking from how you really feel, being honest in what you say, and being physically present – ‘in person.’ He is also a spokesperson.

Page of Wands blends with Ten of Cups (the group) as public speaking; Page of Wands blends with Temperance as an intimate talk, or a face-to-face talk.

………………………..   Page of Wands, as I just said up there, is the good guy, is the good-looking guy, the well-dressed, well-spoken, well-liked individual. Page of Wands is one of the ‘identity’ cards, which mean a certain type of person, mean being present or ‘in person,’ and mean ‘in his/her name,’ as on a document.

Page of Wands is also one of the say-tell-speak cards. He especially means to speak up, or to make a presentation (sales or other), to make a speech. He is also famous for saying exactly how he really feels. Today he is speaking to people one-on-one to meld them into a close circle, so the meanings are limited to that.

………………………..    Ten of Cups is everybody – any kind of everybody, as long as they are on the up-and-up, as long as they are either ‘good’ or neutral: no bad guys come up as Ten of Cups even though it can be an organization. If it represents a political rally or party, for instance, it will be about some good cause or good feeling these people have at that gathering. No conspiracies allowed in the bunkhouse of Ten of Cups.

…………..……………   Temperance is close contact, whether the kind of intimacy between lovers or buddies, or whether a deal, or especially a reciprocal deal, between two parties. Temperance is the exchange, much like Six of Pentacles (another hand-to-hand illustration), Six of Cups (hand-to-hand), and Three of Pentacles. Temperance means relationship, as does Three of Pentacles and Six of Cups, and they all refer to a good relationship, a reciprocal (each party doing his part) relationship. Temperance is specifically a close or intimate relationship, via the water and the wind being blended together. This spread limits Temperance to its relationship meanings – no healing or angel meanings.

………..…………..   Page of Wands and Ten of Cups   Page of Wands and Ten of Cups combines talking and people, so it’s talking to people, people talking; it’s people getting along, being friends. Page of Wands is the talking, is likable; Ten of Cups is the group, is ‘people.’ Here are those sentences:

TALKS THEM INTO BEING A FAMILY

It’s I who get people to get along.

I get along with people.

We love one another, and we love the guy.

He is well-liked.

Everybody gets along with him.

He gets along with everybody.

He is a people person.

He is everyone’s friend, he is so likable.

Ten of Cups is one big happy family; Page of Wands is saying, talking, and being on one’s best behavior. Here are those sentences:

He gets us to be family.

I am family with all these people … we say so.

I talk to these people like family.

We all _ like family, and are on our best behavior.

Page of Wands is speaking; Ten of Cups is a group or the public, or everyone. Here are those sentences:

He makes a public speech.

He can tell you … in a public address.

He speaks to the whole group.

He tells everyone.

Page of Wands is talking, saying, speaking, telling, chatting – any kind of verbal communication. Ten of Cups is ‘we,’ ‘the members,’ and ‘all of us.’ Here are those sentences:

We say so.

As the spokesperson, he _ with the members.

All of us speak well of one another.

Ten of Cups is a good marriage. Page of Wands can be any singular pronoun, usually he (but watch for it to mean ‘I’ or ‘you’), and is a good man, as well as a guy who talks. (That has a special meaning for women.) Here are those sentences:

I married him.

I married him for what he says.

I’m so happy to have such a good man.

My happy marriage is a guy who talks ….

Page of Wands is being your best self, or being a better person, or being on your best behavior. Ten of Cups is ‘we are all’ and ‘everybody.’ Here are those sentences:

Everybody is a better person ….

We are all on our best behavior. x..

………..…………..    Page of Wands and Temperance   Page of Wands and Temperance are a picture of a good guy, a likable fellow (Page of Wands), getting along, being close, being loving (Temperance). He also is talking to another person, or talking to two people. It is pushed a little further, in this particular spread, into him talking two people into getting along with one another. Here are those sentences:

It’s I who … by getting along, myself.

He gets us to get along with each other by what he says.

gets along with him; he is well-liked.

a better person when they love one another.

I am close … because we say so.

We love the guy who talks us into it.

We know each other and are on our best behavior.

Temperance is intimacy, and is dealing directly. Page of Wands is ‘he’ and speaks, tells or talks. Here are those sentences:

He can tell you intimate things about yourself.

He speaks intimately.

He tells his intimate business.

When he makes a speech, he talks to each person directly.

Temperance is close, one-on-one, and best friends. Page of Wands is a good fellow, and is likable. Here, we say he has a good voice. It’s kind of: He is a likable guy, and he speaks well, so …. Here are those sentences:

What a voice he has! – get close to him.

Feel close to this good fellow.

He is a _ person one-on-one.

He is _ best friend, he is so likable.

Temperance is intimate; Page of Wands is talk. Talking face-to-face, in the whole sentence, meant intimate talk, by the way. Here are the sentences:

INTIMATE PARTNER TO TALK TO

What he says when we are intimate.

Such a good man as my intimate partner.

A guy who talks to me face-to-face.

Lastly, Page of Wands is talk; Temperance is interacting, is dealing with one another, is one-on-one, is ‘we,’ and ‘one another.’ Here are those sentences:

As the spokesperson, he interacts.

It’s a deal; speak well of one another.

I talk one-on-one.

Speak well of one another.

We say so. x..

……………………   Ten of Cups and Temperance   Ten of Cups and Temperance are two cards of people getting along famously – serendipity – and a curious thing about them in tandem is that a group of people who get along are getting along with a person intimately. This could describe being close to a spouse’s family, for instance. Here are those sentences:

People get along.

Be family and get along with each other.

All friends of one another.

Everybody gets along

We all get close. We all feel close.

We love one another.

EVERYBODY’S CLOSE FRIEND

Talks to each person directly.

Intimate things about yourself in a public __.

to the whole group intimately.

Everybody’s best friend.

_ interacts with each of the members.

intimate business to everyone.

both one-on-one and the whole crowd.

WE ARE FAMILY

Everybody _ when they love one another.

I am close family with all these people.

these people one-on-one like family.

We all know each other like family.

It’s a deal: all of us _ one another.

Ten of Cups is marriage, and Temperance is intimate relationship or intimacy. Here are those sentences:

I married him for … we are intimate.

I am so happy _ my intimate partner.

My happy marriage … with me face-to-face. x..

You as an ambassador of goodwill to everyone you interact with – introducing people, praising them to one another, saying good things to predispose your human circle to know, like, and cooperate with one another. That makes you the person everyone knows and likes, doesn’t it. That could be a good thing.

Page of Wands……… Page of Wands is the fellow who can talk you into anything. Today he is talking people into belonging together, into being his congregation so to speak. Page of Wands often identifies a type of person, the type being expressed by other cards unless its the type he represents: the good guy, the good talker, the attractive fellow whom everybody likes, who is typically also well-dressed. Today he is speaking to a group in a directly personal voice.

.

Ten of Cups …………. Ten of Cups is good happy folks, with an undertone of prosperous folks. It can smack of the Moral Majority of yore, upon occasion. It’s one big happy family of people who have something in common that unites them – anything at all in common that is fit to print. It is a circle of friends, a neighborhood, a literal family, a married couple, married with children, or marriage itself. Make that ‘happy’ marriage; Ten of Pentacles is the troubled marriage. Ten of Cups can represent any size political group, from a neighborhood to a nation to international ones. In questions about animals, it can be the herd or group of animal friends.

.

Temperance   ………. Temperance represents unity too, but it’s one-on-one unity. It is an exchange, and it is about direct contact, reciprocal contact too. The blending of water and wine denotes intimacy, responding back and forth (reciprocity), simpatico, relationship and close relationship. It often stands for the word ‘intimate’ or ‘intimacy’ regarding a relationship or setting. It means two people together, so it is ‘us,’ ‘we,’ ‘together,’ ‘they,’ etc. Temperance can be standing next to someone, or being close by. If you get Temperance regarding inquiry, for example, about a lost animal, it is close by, maybe still in the house, or where ‘you’ are.

Note that the pouring of water and wine is dilution. Strangely, maybe once a year Temperance may refer to that, and then the question is directly about that. It should even mean ‘blending in,’ but it doesn’t.

Tarot Readings for You for February 12, 2015 Thursday©

GUIDANCE         Serendipity (everybody being happy and getting along as a group) is likely in a place whose leader who is respected and popular. We look at how likely this is when that leader is ‘a real man,’ an honorable respected figure. Such a man at ‘the top’ reduces friction ‘below.’ We observe a man who can be happy and loving if he is the authority in his home. We kind of say that, in the same way gals are looking for a strong male, people in general accept a strong male as leader. So today we salute the man who is responsible, who has stepped into that role.

.

Are YOU here for the first time? Come in!

Ten of Cups – Temperance – King of Swords

.

LEARN TAROT BY OBSERVING

.

……………….…………………… Ten of Cups and Temperance ‘go together.’ Ten of Cups is one happy family, a united group of people, being happy, and a good place (house or neighborhood) to live, not to mention meaning being married, including being married with children. Ten of Cups is any group of good people. Temperance is a close relationship, is dealing with a person or situation, is a pair of people, or ‘together,’ is ‘one-on-one,’ and is the ‘relations’ of ‘public relations’ when Ten of Cups joins it as ‘pubic.’ These two cards are serendipity itself. The other card is the masculine disciplined strong honorable leader, John Wayne … which makes our reading all about how we are happy to have such a man as our head of state, family or coffee shop.

………………………..  Ten of Cups, you can see, is the happy prosperous family. There’s the house on a large lot, mama and papa on a walk with the happily skipping kids – boy and girl, of course – even a rainbow over the home. Ten of Cups means a house or home, a good neighborhood, any size group of people or community. It means a circle of people or friends, and it means people united or at unity, getting along with one another. This Tarot card is upbeat; it doesn’t stand for anything downside.

………………………..  Temperance shows an angel with a healing symbol on his chest, and he’s pouring water and wine together. It’s one of the card meant to shield the deck from being ‘the work of the devil’ in medieval Europe. Its use doesn’t jibe with its picture that well. Yes, it can mean healing – in an incidental way. Its main function is relationship, dealing with or deal, reciprocating, a back-and-forth communication, intimacy, partners – hence intimate partners or intimate relationship.

..…………….………….  King of Swords is the card with the fewest meanings in Tarot Verbatim™. He is the John Wayne style of man, and he is authorities like police and daddy. He is the man who runs the place, and the place could be anything. The stereotype is: responsible adult man, leader, strong man, man with a strong personality, dominant man, manly man, real man, boss, military man (or military itself, or ‘militant’). King of Sword means the word ‘authority’ at times, and then it isn’t male. When King of Swords is a person or animal, it is male.

……….………….  Ten of Cups and Temperance   Ten of Cups and Temperance both mean togetherness. Ten of Cups and Temperance doubly say ‘happy together’ because both Ten of Cups and Temperance mean ‘together.’ They also doubly say ‘close relationship’ because both Ten of Cups and Temperance are relationship. They say close family’ and ‘deal with family’ too. Here are those sentences:

_ is happy in (his) close family.

In this family, everyone is happy to deal with (him) ….

Love relationship. _ is into togetherness as a couple.

Loves _ as an equal partner.

Happy times is togetherness.

Being with the family is healing to him.

Happy times is togetherness.

A close relationship makes you happy.

My spouse is happy to have me deal with family.

We are happy to get together with _.

Oh to be home with ….

_ family is happy _ has a relationship with ….

Relationship with a married _.

Temperance means to deal with, deal, and dealings, dealing direct, one-on-one and hand-to-hand deals, and so forth. Ten of Cups is family, the public, everyone. Ten of Cups, of course, is married, family, we all, the public, and everyone. Here are those sentences:

Your dealings, when you are married, are joint.

Deals with the family.

We all have one-on-ones with __.

Dealing with the public.

Everyone _ deals with loves _.

Public relations.

Everyone that I deal with ….

Ten of Cups is a neighborhood and is a house. Temperance is ‘we’ and ‘jointly.’ These are the sentences that use these particular meanings of our two cards:

WE LIVE HERE

We live in a _ neighborhood.

The house is jointly held.

Temperance is a friend, by way of its ‘closeness’ meaning. Ten of Cups means family. So yo have ‘friend of the family’ as well as ‘friendly families.’ Here are those sentences for this set of meanings:

FRIEND OF THE FAMILY

Friend of the family.

Families are friendly with one another.x..

……….…………  Ten of Cups and King of Swords  Ten of Cups and King of Swords King of Swords is the grown-up man, the leader, the manly man, the strong man, the dominant party, a real man. Ten of Cups is the happy family, being happy with someone in the family, a love relationship, loves, and a couple. Here are the sentences these meanings bring us:

A grown-up man is happy.

A grown-up man is happy in his family.

In his family, everyone is happy with him as the leader.

The manly man loves ….

He is a strong man in his love relationship.

The manly man loves ….

When he is the dominant party, he is into … as a couple.

Happy times is … a real man.

Her family is happy she has a man like him.

King of Swords as the family man is the head of the family, the decision-maker; and King of Swords is a powerful man. Put him with Ten of Cups, and he is a married man. Here are those sentences:

with his family as the decision-maker.

Being the head of the family.

A powerful man is _ of the family.

Married man.

when you are a married man ….

King of Swords is the boss, a forceful personality, is strong, has real authority, is a real man, is ‘daddy.’ Ten of Cups is ‘we all,’ is the pubic,’ is the home, is being happy. Here are those sentences:

We are happy to … the boss.

We all have … with the boss.

He has such a forceful personality to be with the public.

He is strong enough to make everyone love him.

Public _ has real authority here.

Oh, to be home with a real man.

with daddy makes you happy.

King of Swords is the military man, the military, or anything military (or militant, too, actually). Put King of Swords with Ten of Cups, and you have a military neighborhood. Here are those sentences:

_ live in a military neighborhood.

Military neighborhood. Military family x..

……..…………   Temperance and King of Swords  Temperance and King of Swords King of Swords is the strong man, the leader, the dominant party, the manly man, the decision-maker, and the head man. Temperance is about relationship, togetherness, equal partners, dealing with, and healing. Here are those sentences:

Deal with him as the leader.

He is a strong man in his relationship.

When he is the dominant party, he is into togetherness.

The manly man and his equal partner.

He deals with … as the decision-maker.

Being the head of _ is healing to him.

Having a close relationship or togetherness is Temperance. King of Swords is a real man, and daddy. Here are the sentences about that:

RELATIONSHIP WITH A REAL MAN

Togetherness with a real man.

Relationship with a real man.

Relationship with a _ man.

has a relationship with a man like him.

A close relationship with daddy.

King of Swords is an authority, the boss, a forceful personality, is strong, and is a powerful man. Temperance is dealing with, getting together, being one-on-one, and is a friend of. And here we have an application of King of Swords meaning authority without being attached to a man: I am my own authority. Here are the sentences:

DEALING WITH, AND AS, AN AUTHORITY

Get together with the boss.

One-on-ones with the boss.

He has such a forceful personality to be dealing with _.

He is strong enough to deal with __.

that I deal with, I am my own authority.

A powerful man is a friend of _.

Temperance means ‘joint’ as well as ‘dealing,’ so it means jointly held, joint dealings, etc. Here are those sentences:

Your dealings, when you are a _ man, are joint.

jointly held with his _. x..

How easily we accept a commanding male figure as authority; it’s part of our human background as a herd mammal, methinks, having been the owner and operator of a 500-acre sanctuary for game animals, especially elk, in a big way for many years. A man who takes responsibility and takes authority can step into leadership matter-of-factually. A popular leader tends to unite people behind him in such a way they have less conflict with one another, we say here.

Ten of Cups ……….. Ten of Cups Well, here’s the happy couple with a happy family in a fine home in a happy prosperous neighborhood. Besides these things, this is one of the good marriage cards, and it means any sort or size of community. It means the good or decent people. It is the public, and it can join in a mass consciousness theme. Ten of Cups is togetherness as well as unity. It is normalcy, good times and good things; it never refers to the downside of life.

.

Temperance …………. Temperance is two people together, relating to one another or relating to others – relationship, togetherness, a couple, us two, or we, acting in concert, dealing with another person, or you and another person dealing with someone – or something. It is a ‘hand-to-hand’ deal sometimes, and it means to deal directly with. Healing is one of its meanings too because that angel has a symbol of healing on his chest. And speaking of angels, the angel in the picture can be taken literally.

.

King of Swords …………. King of Swords has few meanings. He is the manly man, the powerful man, the ruler or commander or boss, daddy, the authority, the dominant party, the manly man, the real man, the strong man, military man or military. He is John Wayne, the leader of the man pack. The silent type, the tall-dark-and-handsome type. This card can be a field cop (seldom a desk one), for instance.

Tarot Readings for You for May 14, 2014 Wednesday(c)

Guidance      Got a relationship, you got a problem … or two.   We delve into some of the common relationship sore points.  “Everyone has faults when you get to know them,” we say, suggesting sore points are no reason to be a total hermit.  “We can work it out,” one of the Beatles’ great songs, is our theme.  Each person works from his end inwards on a mutual situation, and we meet in the middle with most of the problem digested.  The more reasonable people there are, the faster the digestion is.   Reasonable people can’t smooth everything over, though: sometimes *being in a happy relationship* gives a few folks indigestion.  And sometimes hating a place, and sometimes a third party’s objections, are the ‘firmly set in place’ obstacle we would like to remove.   Then, we go into spreading sickness and getting well.

Are YOU here for the first time? Come in!

People love this place! Our site is divided into four sections: Guidance, Tarot Readings, Learn Tarot by Observation, and Learn Tarot by Pictures.

……..………………………….Ten of Cups and Temperance Ten of Cups is ‘happily-ever-after,’ one big happy family; Temperance is a one-on-one close relationship, a reciprocal deal between two people working something out together. These two Rider Waite cards are wonderful together. They both mean a good relationship, for sure.

……..…………………………Devil and Temperance So of course up pops the Devil, as they say. He ain’t all bad, especially in this good Tarot Verbatim™ company. Devil can mean ‘physical’ and ‘attachment,’ and here we have Temperance who means close and intimacy. And sex – don’t forget Devil means sex or lust. Devil is also an obligation, (along the lines of ‘having no choice’ or being bound). Today Devil means the problem mostly. He is the ‘hate’ of the love-hate relationship, and the sickness when we get into that subject. You have seen Devil on its best behavior today, right here.

Devil………. Devil is in good company today, he ain’t misbehavin’. In the company of only happy relationship cards, he is meaning milder things like: in spite of something, physical, attachment, sex, obligation, disrepair, ailment and sick, disreputable, bad times, problems (especially problems, today), the bad guy, unpleasant situation, being mad, pain, the hard part. And hate – even today. The point of today’s illustration is that the humans bound to Devil are wearing their chains loosely – that bondage to the dark side is voluntary.

Ten of Cups………. One of the happy relationship cards, Ten of Cups means things like home, circle of people, family, happiness, prosperity, the good people, house and neighborhood. Ten of Cups is people getting along with one another and enjoying the good life. You could call this ‘the American Dream,’ with the house on a corner lot on a golf course, a rainbow over the dream home, two ideal boy-and-girl children, and an embracing couple. Where’s the dog?

Temperance………. Water and wine being poured together suggests a back and forth, reciprocal motion, and intimacy. The symbol on the angel’s chest means healing. You can see how this back-and-forth intimacy calls forth ‘transmitting to another person,’ can’t you. Temperance is about dealing with another person closely, which includes an intimate relationship of course. ‘We’ and ‘our’ and ‘together’ and ‘partners’ are often Temperance’s contributions.

Now,  Part Two,

Do you want to know a little, or a lot, about how this Tarot Verbatim™ thing works? If so,

*Go to Learn Tarot by Observing section below. This tells about the combined four pictures in the Tarot Readings – the pictures above here.  It explains how these four cards get together in your mind to make the messages.

*Go to Learn Tarot by Pictures.  It is what each of the four cards, by itself, has to say.  It shows you how that illustration makes that card’s meanings in today’s Spread. All the words of each Tarot card reading you see here are a phrase-by-phrase translation of the scene pictured on those cards: no filler, no psychic impressions, no spirit guide. Word-for-word Tarot Verbatim™.

You can put all this together and intuitively see yourself how Tarot Verbatim™ works.

This is a group reading, with no Questioner and no Question to limit what the cards say, so there’s more variety – even contradictions – and also the pronouns are more flexible. If it feels like it’s yours, and it says ‘he,’ and you’re a ‘she,’ feel free to adopt it anyway.

Queen of Swords

Queen of Wands – Ten of Cups – Temperance

LEARN TAROT BY OBSERVING

.

Our story is about family relationships with women – Queen of Wands and Queen of Swords, to be exact. Queen of Wands is no-nonsense, and that is one of Queen of Swords’ several types.

Queen of Wands is the main Wife card, is associated with a house, is a competent practical person and a manager. A woman with character.

Queen of Swords is the assertive demanding strong woman who expects and isn’t getting. Queen of Swords also represents the bitch, the nag and/or the whiny one, is associated with being the Ex, the mother-in-law or (demanding) mother – the Mama Bat sometimes. She can also have high standards and expect others to meet them. She is the widow card, and can have a child who died. Queen of Swords is a victim sometimes, and sometimes the martyr type who plays victim. Queen of Swords is the one female card in Tarot Verbatim (and in Rider Waite, pretty much) with negative tones to it, so it catches your attention in a spread. If a person in the story is a bitch, this is her card – or a whining complaining nagging type.

Ten of Cups and Temperance are the other two cards at our Tarot table. Ten of Cups is the good marriage, spouse, good people, good neighborhood, happy and prosperous folks – the circle of people. It is one of the cards that means ‘people’ or ‘public.’

Temperance is intimacy, getting along, dealing amicably back and forth (reciprocal relationship), close relationship, partner, and there’s a feeling of balance to Temperance. The illustration’s back-and-forth flow brings all this out.

Now here are the phrases made by each of the combinations of cards in this spread:

Queen of Wands and Ten of Cups: happy married to her; lived happily ever after with her as my wife; his wife in a happy marriage; wife’s house; a happily married woman; Wife feels their home is her house; married into the family; married with children

Queen of Wands and Temperance: she is/has an intimate companion; married the woman I was in a close relationship with; jointly with/as his wife; his wife deals with; being his wife means a close relationship with

Queen of Wands and Queen of Swords: wife’s mother; mother-in-law; a strong woman as his wife; my wife and my (bitchy) Ex; expects to be a/his wife; the bitch wife; the wife’s __ with his mama; mother and daughter-in-law; the widow and the woman who married

Ten of Cups and Temperance: in a happy marriage, you are close to one another; being close to everyone; a balance in family relations; close to their family; close family; close circle or group of people; jointly own the house; happily married in a close relationship; their home; one big close family; the whole family gets along together

Ten of Cups and Queen of Swords: she expects nothing less from the whole family; happy with a strong woman as his wife; she expects a happy prosperous marriage to come of this; she is happy in her marriage because she is demanding; she nags the family; she is demanding of everyone; she is the crank of the group; close relationship with his mama; lives in the same house with (his) cranky mama

Temperance and Queen of Swords: she is/has an intimate companion; she expects intimacy; close even when she is a bitch; a strong woman as his life partner; the bitch I am in a close relationship with; she expects the relationship they are in; deals with his Ex; close with mother-in-law

LEARN TAROT BY PICTURES

.

Queen of Wands Here’s is the competent no-nonsense practical and pragmatic woman. She is the manager at home and at work. Her kids mind; she is boss of the orderly organized home front. Martha Stewart, not Gloria Steinham. She carries a big stick in one hand and a sunflower in the other. She sits up straight, and her expression is the alert one you associate with mothers of young kids.

Ten of Cups We are all one big happy family here – everyone getting along. Good marriage, good family, good neighborhood, the good people, community, everyone. Happily ever after and keeping them happy. Ten of Cups can translate ‘people’ and ‘the public’ too – as in ‘the voters,’ if that is in the question the spread is about. The picture of the skipping kids, embracing couple, rainbow over the roof says it all.

Temperance The meanings this card expresses come from the back-and-forth flow the angel is pouring. The card should mean dilution, because he is diluting wine with water; it seldom does. It means ‘reciprocal.’ It means dealing with; it means intimacy and ‘close relationship.’ It means partner, intimate partner, and associate too.

Queen of Swords Here’s the angry irritated edgy woman. She is in the same mood King of Wands has. The more positive meanings for Queen of Swords are: The strong woman, the old or older woman, the assertive woman, the woman of character. She has high standards, and is holding others up to them. She can be a widow or other victim. She is not getting what she expects and deserves (or thinks she deserves, in some cases). Then, she can be the angry, bitter, complaining, nagging, whining, demanding martyr type we associate with the Ex, the mother-in-law, the bitch, the mama of the mama’s-boy. The child engraved into her throne indicates a child of hers who died.

Our Daily Spread for October 30, 2011 Sunday ©

Advice is about women in the family,  with the emphasis on women who are related who get along in an extended family situation.  The family is emphatically a close,  good and happy one.  We have the wife and her mother or mother-in-law.  Children are part of the story.  Being his wife means a close relationship with his mama.  His wife deals with his ex-wife for them as a couple.

(At the time of production,  there’s no way to correct the lack of spaces after punctuation.  I am writing around it now!)

=========================================================================

Is this the first time you come here?  Well … what to do:

*Go to Advice above which is a summary of the Messages.  (Advice is everyone’s favorite part.)

*Go to Daily Message Tarot Analysis below.  One or more of those sentences has something to say to you.  Intuitively pick those out.  They are about you and the people around you.  They are about today and the days around it.  (It  is a group message like a horoscope,  except Tarot isn’t based on someone else’s birth data,  so it can be specific,  accurate,  detailed and direct.  Our experiment here is ” How much more accurate is it?”)

Did you come here for your predictions? –  You are done now –  See you tomorrow.

Without a question to focus the answer,  four cards can mean contradictory things especially when the Spread has a card that negates other cards.  Without a question also the pronouns in a group reading are more flexible,  especially in some of these Rider Waite Tarot spreads.  When a pronoun is in parentheses,  feel very free to substitute.  The question in a ‘real’ individual reading supplies at least half the information!

MEANINGS AND ILLUSTRATIONS:  OBSERVATION OF THE SPREAD

Well,  we are talking about relationships with women,  for sure. Here are two women,  Queen of Wands who is the main Wife card and also associated with a house,  and Queen of Swords who is the demanding strong woman who expects,  who is the bitch and/or strong woman,  who is associated with being the Ex,  the mother-in-law or (possessive demanding) mother.  Mama Bat sometimes.  To engrave the theme indelibly,  the other two Rider Waite Tarot cards are Ten of Cups,  the marriage,  spouse or tribe and Temperance,  the close relationship,  partner,  or dealing with and balancing out a relationship or relationships.

You look at this and know it’s going to be Johnny-one-note today.

MEANINGS AND ILLUSTRATIONS:  INDIVIDUAL RIDER WAITE TAROT CARDS

Queen of Wands Wife,  Manager,  boss of the home-front,  woman who owns the house.  She is an assertive competent woman,  sometimes a nurse,  who is very practical and hands-on.  This is not the scholarly dame as a rule.  This is more Erma Bombeck than Gloria Steinham.  She sits on the edge of her throne with that alert look on her fact that you associate with mothers of young children,  her big stick in one hand and a sunflower in the other.

Ten of Cups is happily ever after,  family,  (good) neighborhood,  the good people (even the Moral Majority),  community,  everyone,  everyone getting along,  keeping everybody happy.  You see the suburban house on the golf course type thing,  the couple with one arm around one another and the other toward heaven,  two happy dancing children and even the rainbow … WHERE’S THE DOG?

Temperance The close relationship,  intimate partner,  balancing,  dealing with another person.  You see an angel mixing liquids by pouring from one cup to another,  a healing symbol on its chest,  feet in water,  irises and sunrise.  The meanings the card stands for do not match its picture,  and it’s the only card like that.  Go figure.

Queen of Swords Truthfully,  she shows up whenever there’s a bitch.  Her other meanings are demanding woman,  woman who expects (as in ‘Now would be good’ expects),  woman who isn’t getting what she longs for and deserves,  widow or mother of a dead child,  bitter woman,  angry woman.  Illustration shows a grumpy-looking woman with her hand extended in that ‘Now would be good’ gesture, her sword upright. The child on the throne indicates the dead child. (I read that.)
