Three examples (three questions) from one person of Email Reading are a study in going ahead and (carefully) answering when the material seems contradictory. They are also an example of why my instructions to Email buyers are that it’s better to say that someone in a love story is married (especially, not to the love interest). In the questions of this reading, I do not know that, so I read in the alternative – meaning, I say it means this, or that, or that. It turns out that it all does make sense to Querant, who explains that it’s all true ….

Three of Wands – Three of Wands shows a man waiting for his ship with his profit, his income, to come into the harbor. So waiting, profit, income, coming, and the concept of ‘ship coming in’ belong principally to Three of Wands. As clear and convincing as these words, are, however, Three of Wands’ meat-and-potatoes meanings are about the future. Our merchant standing on the hill is looking at the (good) future, and knows what’s going to be.

Three of Wands translates all sorts of future words most of the time it appears: going to be, will, going to, is getting, from now on, what’s ahead, will always be, what’s going to happen. Three of Wands goes so far as to bestow future tense as other cards’ verbs, which sometimes puts Three of Wands ‘underwater’ – not having a word of its very own – in your sentences. Often, though, it just adds the ‘will.’

It’s not just the future Three of Wands talks about, however: It also means to continue, continuing, continual, steady, and other synonyms for ‘continue.’ And in this phase of its work, Three of Wands creates the gerund form of words, whether of its own words, or that of other cards. The gerund form is the ‘–ing’ form, and of course the ‘–ing’ form indicates continuing action. It is the difference between ‘I catch on’ or ‘I caught on’ and ‘I am catching on.’

Three of Wands is an anchor card, one of the best. An anchor card has few and well-defined meanings so that you look at it in the spread and quickly get what it’s saying.

Hanged Man – This curious illustration reflects some myths in which the lead character hangs himself on a tree for three days and sacrifices a body part for ‘wisdom,’ by which is meant psychic or magic powers. See the energy halo around the fellow’s head? – his brain is afire with inspiration, and he is seeing things in a different light (upside-down). You have heard of ‘hair on fire’ as a term for this sort of feeling. Hanged Man is about any intense feeling, including being smitten or turned on, as well as being inspired, or having an urge (like an instinctive urge) to do something.

Hanged Man’s main application is to realize. ‘Realize’ is what it usually translates. Other similar Hanged Man terms are these: know, idea, see, get it. Of course, the realization is often a psychic or intuitive one, so Hanged Man will also say these words in your spreads: psychic, premonition, hunch, got a feeling, inspired, intuitive, insight, thought strikes.

Three of Cups – Three of Cups is one of the happy cards. The story is, the girls pooled income and resources to invest in a pumpkin farm, and here they are having a celebratory drink to their mutual success together. Remembering this story will give you just about all of Three of Cups’ meanings.

First we have the sharing. That’s big with Three of Cups – the pooling of labor and money to make the happy profit. Then we have the get-together of people of the same mind (birds-of–a–feather or even Three Musketeers type thing). 	King of Wands The salamanders in his Rider Waite illustration are associated with ‘fire’ and hence with the ‘fire’ element of alchemy and astrology. He is the physical, energetic fellow with the temper … the redhead. He is the husband card since Queen of Wands is the Virgo-style housewife.
	Three of Cups The women have gotten together to work the field and sell those pumpkins. They are celebrating their profit and splitting it, still friends, glasses raised in a toast. Girl, girlfriends, friends, sharing, profit and profitable, the good life and sharing the life and good times.
	Knight of Swords Zoom-zoom. What a rush, and all worked up too. His sword raised over the head of his racing horse, the wind-whipped knight pursues or rushes. This card in Tarot Verbatim (TM) means to go back and forth as well as to pursue, and sometimes to flee. To speed is a given.
	Three of Wands There he waits, watching his ships come in to port with his money. Money coming in is the main meaning, good things in the future, and sometimes waiting. It call the future tense upon the verb of its sentence quite often.

Each Tarot sentence is a literal-interpretation reading of the scenes pictured on the four cards you see. Only what each of the cards says – phrase by phrase – no fillers – no psychic ability used. The readings are about you and the people around you. They are about today and the days around it. Tarot, all by itself, talks to you. This is a demonstration of that .

Tarot will address any group flexibly, as it does here of ‘all the visitors.’ (It can address ‘all the people at work who have a say in my raise,’ for instance, without you knowing who or where those people are.)

Horoscopes are group readings too.

Astrology has to be based on someone else’s birth data, though, so it does not solidly apply to you just because of where the sun was when you were born. (Astrologers know this.)

Emily wants to know whether these sentences are more accurate for regular visitors than for people who have come only a few times. Would you help with a comment, if that is who you are? Please?

Without a question to focus the answer, four cards can mean contradictory things, especially when the Spread has a card that means ‘no, never or not.’ That negative modifier can apply to any one of the cards.

Without a question also the pronouns (you, him, her, me, us, them, they, etc.) in a group reading are more flexible, especially in some of these Rider Waite Tarot spreads. When a pronoun is in parentheses, feel very free to substitute. Notice how, as much as possible, we drop pronouns, which makes for some awkward phrasing.

The question in a ‘real’ individual reading supplies at least half the information! In a ‘real’ reading, the parties are identified (including the gender of the questioner!), and so is the time frame if there is one. In this group reading, we cannot do that, so we have variety.

“There will always have to be females in a family.” Now, there’s a profound statement! Those females are a necessary evil. This spread addresses sticking together as a group – a clan, family, friends or even a company – to ensure a future (survival). You read it and go “Yeah. so?” Then you remember that when populations are under attack or duress, members of groups suffer less. It’s about identifying as a member of a group or family.

Four of Wands is family or any group – from the couple to the family to the neighborhood to the city, county, state, country and I guess world. Three of Cups is sticking together as friends and sharing profits. Three of Wands is that profit coming in. And Ace of Swords means it must be, guaranteed, winning or ‘making it.’

Four of Wands is the group – family, a couple, a neighborhood, a party or organization – all the way up to a country. Illustration shows the wedding of leading families.

HOW TO USE THE MATERIAL WE HAVE FOR YOU HERE. Read the sentences, and pick out the ones that seem to apply to you, to the people around you. They are a Tarot analysis of your day’s circumstances. Three of Cups, Five of Swords, Three of Wands

Meanings and Illustrations:

The meanings of the four cards read as follows succinctly: (1) Three of Cups – The girls support one another, have a good life. (2) Five of Swords – The guy who takes advantage or bullies. (3) What will happen, money coming in. (4) What the man does. So rivalry between the genders is one topic.

Three of Cups: This is one of our frequent-flier cards – one that shows up a lot here. The girls. The girls share. The girls share the profit. The girls get together. Girls’ night out. The girls’ happiness. The girls who have money. Dating, enjoying life, getting together.

Five of Swords: To take advantage of, or to be taken advantage of: Action of Tarot cards goes both ways, and any character in the story can be featured. Five of swords is the guy with the angles, the one with the Cheney smirk who’s gonna ‘get his,’ who takes his half of the road down its middle. It can be about revenge, it can even be about bully-bashing. This is the attitude of outsmarting, short term. The illustration shows, yes, the smirking bully who tricked his friends into losing their swords to him.

Three of Wands: If you have been reading us for a few weeks, you will know this is ‘ships coming in.’ That is what the illustration shows, and usually this Rider Waite Tarot card means income, future, waiting, good times are coming. Sometimes it instructs the reader to put the sentence in future tense.

Magician: Conjugate the verb ‘do.’ Act, make, behave, bring about, bring down. Any word referring to male or men. The idea behind this simple card is ‘the active principle’ in magic. It refers to action as opposed to thinking. It is opposite to the High Priestess, who is the female principle. Look for ‘what he does’ applications. Illustration shows a magician with the tools of his trade designed to make things happen.

Do you prefer equality? – then you have to learn ‘la difference’ in order to ignore, appreciate or counterbalance the advantages and disadvantages. Is the business advice more targeted as you relate more to the business meanings subconsciously – because Tarot is largely sub- and super- conscious? The night is still young on that question because the blog is only in its third month.

A mindset of not caring, of dissociation and enjoying the moment, is what makes money come to you

Three of Wands Three of Cups, Fool, Six of Pentacles

Financial Perspective: Don’t even concern yourself, money is coming to pay the bills and to enjoy life. Money is coming that is worth celebrating, don’t worry. It’s a fine future: You and your friends have enough and don’t even think about bills. Enjoy life with likeminded people, don’t think about money coming in, and it will. A mindset of not caring, of dissociation and enjoying the moment, is what makes money come to you. Just don’t think about paying bills, enjoy living, and enough money will come in. Each of us has income and we share the expenses, so there’s nothing to worry about. When I had no income, friends paid my way. We will just all share in the fees. Just getting together with friends to make a steady income for all. We will get together and share the payments, it’s no big deal. We all keep spending money on get-togethers without even thinking of it. Three friends each freely support one another’s income. Had no idea we were still paying for that jointly. Had no idea the income was being split three ways. Will not even think of the friends who paid her bills, when her income comes in. Other Perspectives: Freedom is coming to you through the input of people in your circle. When you don’t care anymore, all the good things come that make you happy. Uninvolvement in one another’s affairs contributes to a continuing friendship. Don’t care about what’s fair, they continue to share. Not putting your two cents in gives you a life you will enjoy. Girlfriends are going to be treating one another right, that’s all. The young girls who enjoy life are the ones who will be getting the attention. Not getting involved in companions’ lives is her gift to continuing friendships. They just contribute good things to one another’s lives from now on. Will be paying attention to simpatico people and ignoring the others. Free association is always your right. Assume we will always be the kind of friends who contribute to one another’s lives. This one doesn’t think about contributing but continues to share. We are on our “Don’t worry about the bills” billboard again, but this time there’s advice to distract attention from worrying by enjoying life, enjoying likeminded simpatico friends. Again, the money that is coming in is clearly income, not a windfall. Again, it specifically expresses that nothing new need be done in order to secure better times ahead. You could sum up this spread by “Don’t worry, be happy.” Apparently, we here need reassurance on this subject, because it’s not going away.

Meanings and Illustrations:

Three of Cups: Here those chicks are again, the ones who are enjoying life with friends, sharing in the harvest they also jointly paid the expenses of. Convivial is a good word for them. The emphasis today is on the feeling of celebrating the good life. Fool: This Rider Waite Tarot card has a happy-go-lucky, ‘don’t worry, don’t care’ attitude too. Don’t even think about things, never mind. It means ‘to not be there,’ to not be present, to be absent. It means to disregard, to ignore. Don’t give a damn about reality. Fergit it. The photo shows a happy fella going on a journey with just a purse on a stick and a flower in his hand, his little doggie companion at his side, about to walk off a cliff. He will die happy, you see. Six of Pentacles: To contribute, to pay attention, to pay bills or expenses, to receive pay, to pay or receive what is entitled/deserved. It shows the employer paying the workers what they are worth. Three of Wands: Once again, everything is going to be all right, your ships are coming in, there’s a good future, and things are going to continue to be OK. With the Six of Pentacles, steady income. The merchant in the picture is waiting for his ships to come in: He can see that they are coming in.

Suddenly the freedom you seek is yours

Financial Perspective: It’s a fact, what held the money back is gone, and money is yours. Whee! All of a sudden you have money again, realistically. Restrictions are lifted, and all of a sudden money comes looking for you. Seek release from your restrictions and you will suddenly have the money. You are free to seek fast money. Suddenly you are free to seek money. Honest money can be had quickly when you get out from under childhood restrictions. He comes looking for you, in a hurry to pay you, to free himself. He comes looking to pay, in a hurry to free himself of the attachment. Looking to get paid and get out of here fast. It’s a fact a kid can get rich fast. Being reckless with money has him looking for a way out. Looking for the money to leave the parents’ home and be on his way. It’s a fact that having money gets a kid out from under parents and on his own way faster. The old man’s money changes the kid’s life. Other and Spiritual Perspectives: Suddenly you are on the right course/path, and there’s the freedom you seek. Seek sincerely the right path and suddenly you will be released from restrictions. Look in the right places and joy will strike. Patience is rewarded; all of a sudden there’s a breakthrough. Get out of there as fast as you can and look for the right way/one/place. Suddenly the freedom you seek is yours. Look for a place to turn around on the restricted road, and go the other way. Speeding on the main road, looking for the place to get off. It’s night time: When the sun comes out, get back on the road. Looking for roads you can travel the fastest, to get out of here. It’s best to look for the fastest way out. Leave at night, and get on the road fast. Change and leave your past behind, you know what is right. Not a kid anymore, seek money of your own. Wisdom is yours, you got away from being childish. Hey, you can get rich and get spiritual here in the same four-card caba All the cards refer to a road and/or travel; two (Sun and Knight of Swords) refer to change; two (Ace of Pentacles and Hermit) mean some form of ‘right.’ We are talking about a journey here … obviously. Each of these cards blends well with the others; there’s a flow. Advice is to get on with it, be a success, get your money and get moving. Also to get over the baggage of the past, expressed as leaving the parents’ house.

Meanings and Illustrations:

Sun: We are talking about getting out of, getting out from under, leaving home in the Sun Rider Waite Tarot card. Yep, it shows a kid leaving he parents’ house. Recklessly. But we don’t use the ‘uninhibited’ or reckless spectrum of this card much today. Knight of Swords says a change of direction or turnaround, and a big hurry. With Ace of Pentacles, he is ‘the fastest road.’ He is getting away from, in a hurry. See him run. Ace of Pentacles lends ‘the right’ road, way, course, etc. to the messages, as well be being the road. Pictured is a pleasant road with lilies for ‘spiritual’ right and a victory arch trellised with roses for ‘success’ right. Hermit, also on a journey, is looking for, is patient and honest, and is on the road at night. He also means a fact, a truth, an objective observation. Wisdom too. And being the old man. The illustration shows an old monk out at night looking for travelers on the road.
