Guidance |
Here’s a picture of you keeping the vehicle of your life reasonably on course and fairly consistently on the road as the terrain offers detours and challenges. You’re the responsible driver on the pothole-pockmarked commute to and from the place you live. The stupid places you used to go to made you the skilled operator you are now, and you get yourself where you are going maybe by turning your decent side on and off at times.
Could This Be You?
Picture this: You look at the cards in your spread.
You immediately get an idea because you know a few of them intimately.
AND you know a system that works because you have had a few
Tarot Email Training emails from Emily.
You Are on Your Way.

GUIDANCE Did you come here for Your Daily Predictions? Good! Guidance provides your predictions in a summary. It is the Guidance received for you through three Rider Waite Tarot™ cards, using Tarot Verbatim™.
GROUP TAROT READINGS Here are several one-sentence readings that are predictions for you and the people around you for today and the days around it. Here Tarot is talking to you: These sentences express word-for-word, verbatim, the meanings of those three Tarot cards. You choose which sentences apply to you, and you choose whether to encourage them or not.
LEARN TAROT CARDS BY PICTURES Are you ready to begin learning Tarot Verbatim™? Here your in-depth meanings come alive for each of the three cards! In Tarot Verbatim™, pictures make the meaning, so each card is like a person you know and remember.
WHERE EACH PHRASE COMES FROM At a glance, with a color for each card, your subconscious picks up on how the sentences of GROUP TAROT CARDS READING came to be. You feel how individual card meanings reach out and blend, unite, into a sentence. (You can learn this – yes, you!) Your subconscious awareness sees the image and its feeling and your conscious awareness sees the language meaning, the text… so your two minds focus together to see 3D, three dimensionally, the same way your two eyes see depth that one eye does not.
The Rider Waite Tarot™ deck is a data bank in mass consciousness that your subconscious can communicate with. Tarot Verbatim™ is the Rosetta Stone that makes that communication easy because it is a bridge between conscious and subconscious thought. When both your levels of awareness focus together, you think intuitively in real time in ‘the real world.’
Bon voyage!

Chariot is ambition, success, getting ahead, and taking responsibility – being in charge, being the go-to person regarding an endeavor or enterprise. Charioteers were the on-the-ground battle strategists of their day. This is an esoteric card. Note he isn’t using reins, and those are not horses. He is using magic wands, and sphinxes are magic mischievous critters who travel only in a turn in one or the other direction. Mr. Chariot, our winner here, hitches them so they bump against one another and end up going straight by default. This is, of course, about playing your enemies off against one another.

![]()
Two of Pentacles might represent the movement of the sphinxes that present Mr. Chariot with a problem. Two of Pentacles is either cyclic, steady, or erratic movement. This is expressed by a combination of the ships behind the juggler being tossed on crazy waves, by the skilled juggler’s steady movements as he dances and keeps those plates or balls moving, and by the ‘constant’ math sign that connects the items being juggled.

Six of Cups is the stability we are nostalgic for. Six of Cups is the good old days as we need to believe they were. It represents innocence, childhood, warm fuzzy living and warm fuzzy friendships and loves. It is about children generally too. Today its stability is emphasized because of the story it is participating in for us.

.
Two of Pentacles – Two illustrations, not just one, here. A juggler who is also dancing is about timing and movement – lots of each. The math ‘repeating’ or ‘eternity’ sign encircles what he juggles, which gives you the ‘on and on’ and all the ‘continuing’ meanings (as long as, often, going on, keep being, is still, every time, most of the time). Of course, his dancing brings dancing meanings.
.
The back-and-forth and side-to-side movements give you off-and-on, and this-way-and-that sporadic meanings. Here you get ‘maybe, maybe not’ – and we sometimes rock our hand back and forth when we say that! It could go either way, in other words. Also “Revisits every once in a while,’ we say today.
.
So let’s pause here and note that Two of Pentacles can mean both ‘every once in a while’ and ‘always’ or ‘continues.’
.
The around-and-around movement can say more things than you would think. Today, for instance, it’s whirlwind and merry-go-round. It’s also ‘getting back’ and ‘coming back to’ today.
.
Like I said, we have two illustrations here. The ships in the background are anything but this good timing and continuing movements. The ships are being tossed by the huge waves, and have no control of their movement. This gives us words and phrases like ‘instability’ and ‘erratic.’
.
In a small way, Two of Pentacles joins the ‘foolish’ or ‘foolishness’ theme with Page of Cups. His goofy costume and what looks like a dunce cap account for those words.
Six of Cups – What have we got here? – Little Boy Gives Little Girl Flowers in front of the place they live, dressed well, and drawn in old-fashioned kitsch style: nostalgia and children or childhood and trust and love and romance and home and a gift – in the past, and the memories of same. Those are the main applications of the picture here in Six of Cups.
.
It’s one of the real estate theme cards (a weak one), that often means an old house, a cozy cottage, the homestead, and a good safe neighborhood (a good neighborhood for children).
.
This is a warm-fuzzy card like Knight of Cups, and you can see that by the artwork on both of them: curved relaxed lines and pastel or pretty color. It takes a LOT to bring any negative meaning to Six of Cups. These kids are good kids, and the old house is cozy, not decrepit.
.
Six of Cups often doubles up on its meanings. Not just an old friend from the past, but an old friend from the past you are in touch with. Not just a beautiful love affair, but a beautiful love affair with someone from ‘way back when.’ Not just the past, but memories of the past. It will also do double duty putting the setting of the story your spread is telling in the deep past, or at least in the past.
World – World is a diagram of an idea, as Ace of Cups and Wheel of Fortune are. The idea in World is that people who have ‘been there and done that’ or people who are spiritual adepts repel trouble. Trouble, World proclaims, looks for easy targets – so don’t be one. Get that wall of protection up, and you can let your hair down and dance nude with your magic wands. When you block out troublesome entities and situations, World says, you have no trouble. The wall represents the magic circle too – that wreath around the shapely dancer. New Agers would say World has ‘hardened the aura’ too.
.
Other applications to the encircled figure emphasize other aspects of that general idea. When you put that wall up, you are in a private life of your own in a cozy cocoon. You are also out of touch with the world, and you are not interested.
.
You are also simply very private, possibly a homebody like High Priestess and sometimes Queen of Wands. You are enjoying your own company so much you are not making yourself available, and are having nothing to do with … whatever.
.
Another useful aspect to World is: It isn’t a problem; doesn’t have a problem or that problem. It can’t get to her: that’s a phrase owned and operated by World.
.
World dances to a different drummer, of course. World is also the shapely woman, the ideal woman, and the woman who isn’t interested. The ideal woman idea is because World is superior, is the expert, is the Master of Both Worlds (the basis for the illustration and the title). Master of Both Worlds is a concept from magic: a person who does both sides of the magic street – the good witch as well as the bad witch. Hence, untouchable to wannabe intrusion.

TWO OF PENTACLES AND
SIX OF CUPS:
Two of Pentacles can translate ‘
still’ through its
‘continuing’ category of meanings –
keeping it up.
Six of Cups can translate
‘still’ because it’s
old-fashioned love,
lovers for a long time, or
friends for a long time.
TWO OF PENTACLES AND
WHEEL OF FORTUNE:
Two of Pentacles’ juggler is dancing;
Wheel of Fortune’s dancing to a different drummer, but both are dancing. These two appearing together in a question could set a theme about dancing, in a given context. There’s also a contrast, in these two cards, between the
extreme instability of
Two of Pentacles and the
extreme stability of
World.
.
SIX OF CUPS AND
WORLD: Safety is both
Six of Cups and
World:
Six of Cups is a
safe neighborhood, and is
being with people you trust;
World is
safely ensconced inside her circle,
her wall, and
repels any intrusion.
World is unimpeded:
Nothing gets to World. (Think Jimi Hendrix’s ‘Are You Experienced?’)
World is experienced;
World can handle that. When you are
the expert, few challenge you in your field. When you are a
champion,
no one wants to oppose you. You can say
World
has a wall up; you can say
World’s aura is hard; you can say
World is a
spiritual adept … it’s all the same.
.
So
World is safe, and
Six of Cups suggests ‘for a long long time,’ and
Two of Pentacles suggests that it
continues that way. So the other two cards bolster World’s meaning.
.
.
AND NOW WITHOUT THE PICTURES:
.
TWO OF PENTACLES AND SIX OF CUPS: Two of Pentacles can translate ‘still’ through its ‘continuing’ category of meanings – keeping it up. Six of Cups can translate ‘still’ because it’s old-fashioned love, lovers for a long time, or friends for a long time.
.
TWO OF PENTACLES AND WHEEL OF FORTUNE: Two of Pentacles’ juggler is dancing; Wheel of Fortune’s dancing to a different drummer, but both are dancing. These two appearing together in a question could set a theme about dancing, in a given context. There’s also a contrast, in these two cards, between the extreme instability of Two of Pentacles and the extreme stability of World.
.
SIX OF CUPS AND WORLD: Safety is both Six of Cups and World: Six of Cups is a safe neighborhood, and is being with people you trust; World is safely ensconced inside her circle, her wall, and repels any intrusion.
.
World is unimpeded: Nothing gets to World. (Think Jimi Hendrix’s ‘Are You Experienced?’) World is experienced; World can handle that. When you are the expert, few challenge you in your field. When you are a champion, no one wants to oppose you. You can say World has a wall up; you can say World’s aura is hard; you can say world is a spiritual adept … it’s all the same.
.
So World is safe, and Six of Cups suggests ‘for a long long time,’ and Two of Pentacles suggests that it continues that way. So the other two cards bolster World’s meaning.
.
You have some old and trusted friends, and you have a cozy place to live where you are established, so you are keeping it that way. Nothing out there interests you or aggravates you: the curtains are closed and you have your own business to mind serenely.

GUIDANCE When you have lived long enough to, you tend to revisit the past. Really old people go back to houses they used to live. Our childhood comes back to us at times, silly things and sentimental things. Then there’s our second childhood, right? Look back, wiser now, and say ‘I’ve been good, but inconsistently good. At a certain point down the road, we seek comfort, don’t we? On the other hand, we learn from the past by watching history … ours … repeat itself.
.
Are YOU here for the first time? Come in!

Now, Part Two,
Do you want to know a little, or a lot, about how this Tarot Verbatim™ thing works? If so,
*Go to Learn Tarot by Observing section below. This tells about the combined meanings of the three cards in the pictures in the Tarot Readings. It explains how these cards get together in your mind to make the messages. HERE ARE PHRASES FOR ALL THREE 2-CARD COMBINATIONS is a stream-of-consciousness bridge to your subconscious if you use it regularly – people report.
*Go to Learn Tarot by Pictures. It is what each of the cards, by itself, has to say. It shows you how that illustration makes that card’s meanings in today’s Spread. All the words of each Tarot card reading you see here are a phrase-by-phrase translation of the scene pictured on those cards: no filler, no psychic impressions, no spirit guide. Word-for-word Tarot Verbatim™.
You can put all this together and intuitively see yourself how Tarot Verbatim™ works.
This is a group reading, with no Questioner and no Question to limit what the cards say, so there’s more variety – even contradictions – than a personal reading would give you. Also, pronouns are flexible: If the sentence feels like it’s yours, and it says ‘he,’ but you’re a ‘she,’ well, it’s yours.
*AND if you write names of any two cards into the Google search bar, it will give you meanings of those!
Two of Pentacles – Six of Cups – Hermit
.
.
………
………
………
All three of our cards today have multiple seemingly-unrelated meanings. Two of Pentacles – one of its many applications – is going back, going around again, revisiting, repeating, etc., since it illustrates ‘going around in a circle’ and ‘over and over again’ in the dancing juggler. Hermit is an old person who is looking for, and who is on the road. Six of Cups is the past and the good old days (among a few other things like kids, romance, and home. So Hermit can be an old person looking back to the good old days. Both Six of Cups and Hermit are about old friends (Hermit, because it separately means ‘old’ and ‘friends,’ so can combine those.) Both Six of Cups and Hermit are about warm feelings, devotion to another person, and unpretentious comfort. Today’s story is looking for what’s real, and looking into the past for that.
………………
………….. Two of Pentacles has a few meanings and a plethora of phrases. Today the ‘over and over’ repeated actions, which also involve ‘still doing’ and ‘keep at it’ or ‘always’ are mainly the ones we use. Those phrases are, verbatim:
keep _
repeat itself
re-
going back
still _
forever
one thing after the other
always
it’s still been one _ after the other
One upheaval after the other
regularly
still doing
keep going back
back
I go around
cycles of
ineffectually redoes _
And the next most Two of Pentacles’ category we use today are the ones that the ships tossing in the background express: the unstable, indeterminate, this-way-and-that ones. Those phrases are, verbatim:
going? – it depends
inconsistent
goofy things I do
ineffectually
foolish .. second …
vertigo
unstable
No so _ but not so _ either
………………
………….. Six of Cups also has many trunks to its tree – so many that, as the dominant card (one the others relate to the most), it has created several categories to our post here. The first category is all about the past, and these are the phrases for that:
the past
history
what used to be
after all these years
what I’m used to
how life used to be
I used to
he used to
used to be done
nostalgia
The next category is about home, that comfortable place, and the ‘old haunts’ that constitute home to a person (some of us at least)
home
a comfortable place
old haunts
Then we have the children. Phrases for that are:
child, children, childhood, youngster, kids
Then we have the romance application of Six of Cups. Phrases for that in today’s post are:
loves
romance
love life
Besides all these, we have ‘I’ve been so good’ and ‘not so young’ as phrases for Six of Cups.
………………
………….. Hermit is a monk who serves travelers: finds them, and takes them home to a hot meal and a warm bed. He is a service monk; he is your helper and friend. Pictured is a man who is older and is a doctor. He is therefore a learned person. Combining helper and doctor, he become a counselor and a giver of advice. He also is about being real, being sincere and plain. He becomes the caretaker, the sincere man whose love is real in romance questions: devoted.
Mainly today, his phrases are about looking and watching. They are:
watching
looking
looking for
looking out for
has me looking at
looking
investigation
Hermit as the learned man produces phrases about information. Today we use these from that category:
learning
truth is
advice
Today we use a few of the words that refer to being old or older. Here they are:
old man
old
getting older
old people
old person
A monk is a devotee, is devoted. Hermit is your friend, is sincere, and in romance he is devoted and adores. Here are those Hermit words:
devoted
adores
sincere
friends
By what he is wearing, Hermit is a doctor. Those phrases are:
being treated for
treatment
doctor … treatments
Lastly, you find Hermit referring to the the fact he is going somewhere, and to nighttime, and to cold. Here are what we use today of those:
cold night, heading
going
We do go back and ruminate and reminisce where we have been, as we get more experience, don’t we? We may want to apply our new (and, we trust, better) perspective to who we were and what we did back there. Maybe we can’t change its facts, but we can change its application, its categories, at least its effect upon us. Do this exercise. Write (in your head) your life as you being a success, a somebody. Then write it as you being a victim. Then, if you like that, write an existential open-ended version of your biography so far. You will find that where you end the story makes it one thing or another. So where you are headed is more important than where you have been, right? Right?
.

Two of Pentacles……….. Two of Pentacles is one of those Rider Waite cards that has otherwise-unrelated meanings growing out of its illustration. There’s a contrast between the skill of the dancing juggler as he does the same motion over and over without fail and the ships tossing in a wild uncontrollable way behind him. It must be the costume and the funny hat (dunce cap?) that make all the ‘silly’ words and phrases. The back and forth motions produce quite a few comme ci, comme ca, this-way-or-that, either-or type phrases – and there are a lot of those. Anything that a person would *rock his hand back and forth about* belong to Two of Pentacles. But what do the two pictures have in common?: motion. The ships are moving up and down, and the juggler is too – and is moving in quite a few other ways as well. Today ‘going back’ is featured because Six of Cups is the past, and Hermit is going there, and Two of Pentacles has this application to its repertoire.
.
Four of Swords …………. Six of Cups, too, has otherwise-unrelated meanings growing out of its illustration. It’s one of those cards I could write a book on … and I’m thinking of writing a few pamphlet-sized books on the complex Rider Waite Tarot cards like this one – thirty- to sixty- pages or so. Today the branches we are occupying on Six of Cups’ tree are: the past, home, children, romance, and being good or the sweet life. The way we get these applications is, of course, from the illustration, which shows Little Boy giving Little Girl flowers in front of their apartment or estate, the artwork being done in kitsch (cutesy-poo) style.
.
Judgment …………Hermit, yes, is yet another Rider Waite Tarot card that has otherwise-unrelated meanings growing out of its illustration. You see a monk. Not just a monk, but a service monk. He is a medic, and he is out in the cold dark mountain terrain with his lamp to attract any travelers who could use a meal and a bunk indoors tonight. If you have never camped out in the mountains in the winter, you cannot fully appreciate what Hermit has to offer. So he is helpful, sincere, a doctor (his clothes), is out looking, and is looking out.
*In addition to all of those characteristics, Hermit (as the doctor and the monk who studies godly topics) is learned – a scholar. Hermit is able to teach, and is always learning.
*Hermit is a graybeard: is old or older. Expand this fact when you apply it.
*Hermit as a monk is devoted. Expand this fact to his being a devoted friend, devoted lover, a seeker as well as a teacher.
*Hermit is traveling, on foot, going somewhere. He can be – in application – going somewhere in the cold, in the dark, and in the mountains. He can also be in a search party, with other cards.

Six of Cups
Ace of Swords, Two of Pentacles, Three of Wands
Ups and downs have to come, life is sweet.
Cycles have to come back to the good part.
The past keeps coming back as another challenge.
You have to go through whatever comes, and then that is the good old days.
Have absolute trust that you will be getting through this.
Overcoming comes in stages and has its rewards.
Three of these cards refer to time: Two of Pentacles means a recurring cycle; Three of Wands means waiting for what is coming; Six of Cups means the past, the good old days. The other card means, here today, ‘have to’ as well as ‘absolute’ and ‘overcoming.’ Both the six of Cups and the Three of Wands speak of good experiences – one in the past and one is the future.
Advice is that things change, and if you wait, good things will come again; that life is good with its ups and downs.
Ace of Swords: You absolutely have to overcome. Ha-ha. That is stringing together the three Rider Waite Tarot meanings we use today. And there’s that sword with the crown of overcoming or victory.
Two of Pentacles: Ups and downs, a cycle that keeps recurring, to go through, stages. The juggler keeps his items moving up and down, it is part of the act.
Three of Wands: What is coming. Good experiences are on the way. Illustration is the merchant waiting for his ships to come in.
Six of Cups: Life is sweet, the good part, the sweet past, the good old days, trust, rewarded. Little boy gives little girl flowers in a nostalgic scene.
Death
Page of Swords, Three of Pentacles, King of Cups
Have a relationship with a calm good man, and you won’t be aggravated.
He is an emotional man; he should not have a relationship that is anxiety-producing.
He is not a good guy so you are guarded whenever you deal with him.
When you feel alerted and emotional, don’t do the deal.
He drinks when the people he deals with get to him, so he doesn’t have relationships.
When meeting with a person makes you nervous, he is not a good person.
The gentleman is afraid he is not doing his part.
He is a good man, he does his part, no need to be on guard.
Page of Swords and King of Cups are emotional, often emotional men. The Page of Swords in Rider Waite Tarot is on guard, anxious, apprehensive or fearful, nervous, edgy, alerted or aggravated. The King of Cups is calm, emotional, can be your affectionate honey, and also can be a drinker or a passive or passive-aggressive man. Then the Three of Pentacles is a relationship, deal or meeting, and the Death card is a negative modifier … won’t, should not, etc.
Advice here is to not deal with people that get on your nerves or that make you anxious and mistrustful. (One of our recent past readings, if I recall, gave this advice in the positive: to deal with people you can trust.) If a person makes you uneasy, don’t have anything to do with him or her.
Page of Swords: Like I said above, on guard, anxious, apprehensive or fearful, nervous, edgy, alerted or aggravated. The illustration shows a fellow in a paranoid stance, both hands on his weapon when there’s no one for miles around.
Three of Pentacles: Common meanings for this card are about a deal, relationship or meeting. It shows a real estate closing, the final inspection of a cathedral before the architect is paid.
King of Cups: Here is a man who is calm, emotional, can be your affectionate honey, and also can be a drinker or a passive (wishy-washy) or passive-aggressive man. The emotionality is expressed in the illustration through the water flowing right up to his throne, and ships being tossed behind him.
Death: This is usually just the negative word in the sentence. In the illustration, the king’s life is over, he is not.
So, in order to be on an even keel in your life, be aware that if you don’t like what is happening now, it will change, that there will always be sweet times, and also that today, with all its aggravations, will be the good old days eventually. Don’t deal much with aggravatin’ folks and you won’t be aggravated much.
