Four of Swords has resigned from all activity to do a vision quest on his life purpose as a knight. So whatever it is he could do, he is not doing that at all now. This vision quest is part of the sequence of rituals required for a page to become a knight, the only life open to a page.
Ten of Wands is all about long term things because our overloaded fellow takes forever to get where he’s going with all those logs on his back.
