When you begin your journey with Tarot, you establish not only the meanings the cards hold for you but also other factors that influence Tarot's responses. One crucial aspect is the extent to which the gender depicted on the cards aligns with the gender of the person you’re inquiring about.
If you start with a strict correlation, your readings will generally reflect this association. For instance, the Nine of Pentacles often represents an independent woman, while the Queen of Wands is typically seen as a wife, mother, or married woman.
Conversely, if you don't emphasize this gender association, your readings won't adhere to the depicted genders as rigidly.
Personally, I rely on the depicted gender and appreciate the clarity it provides. Of course, exceptions exist, as they do in all things.
