High Priestess – King of Pentacles
the ladylike woman and the studly man
the ladylike woman – High Priestess
and the studly man. – King of Pentacles
High Priestess is the ladylike woman because Golden Dawn, the creators of Rider Waite, feel that 2 is passive on the physical plane and active on the higher plane(s), and that 2 is also the female influence. High Priestess does not initiate action, so naturally she comes up as ladylike.
King of Pentacles is so studly. He is the studmuffin, the Italian stallion, the charismatic man. The way he is dressed calls for him sometimes to be the dandy.
