Advice  Cooperation: It lubricates our commerce and our romance as well as our social life.  We get together and accomplish; we get together and influence one another; we get together for a good life that we live separately.  What are friends for?  You all help one another handle your own business in your circle of friends.  The company of people who handle their lives well helps me be in charge of mine.  A good manager influences people to contribute as team members.

Three of Cups
Knight of Cups – Queen of Wands – Strength

Good people, here. Three of four are women, and so the guy is easy to get along with (or he wouldn’t have stayed, right?). Both Queen of Wands and Strength are assertive strong influential, even powerful women who are unobtrusive about their superior status. Queen of Wands is in charge of a place (home, business, whatever) and is practical, sensible, no-nonsense. The wife, too. Strength is a hands-on lady as well, more inclined to handle opposition, to overcome (even her own traits or weaknesses) and to refer to spiritual matters.

Three of Cups is women together as a team, as girlfriends, as joint venturers, cooperating. (Knight of Cups also means cooperating.) It is about enjoying and sharing life together, celebrating good times. It pluralizes the other two women cards, making a can’t-be-missed point about women being involved together in some enterprise.

Lastly, Knight of Cups is a diplomatic, good-natured, easy-to-get-along-with (young) man who helps and offers to help, suggests, assists, is friendly to flirtatious, and is the boyfriend. He epitomizes being cooperative, and cooperating perfectly is what members of the girl team are doing too in Three of Cups.

The woman who tames the lion makes the beast cooperate, so Knight of Cups can be the product of her endeavor, but that is not the real theme here.

Knight of Cups We like to see him come around here. He is such good company. He fits in anywhere because he makes it his business to. He can be an agreeable flirt. He is Johnny Depp in Don Juan de Marco. (Didn’t see that movie? – if you’re a girl, run down there and rent it!) All those curved relaxed lines and pastel shades even on his pony, not to mention the wings on his head tell who he is.

Queen of Wands is the Mama. She is in charge with a practical focus, patient and assertive in her task. Woman who manages home, classroom, office, enterprise … whatever. No oversight in sight because she is so responsible. The board in one hand and the flower in the other: Kids of any age mind her!

Strength The lion tamer. Her touch heals and defuses opposition because she isn’t looking for a fight. She solves problems, resolves conflict, is spiritually strong. This kind of woman is often the ‘power behind the throne.’ (Remember when Begin, a leader in Israel, quit his job abruptly when his invalid wife died?)

Three of Cups Three musketeers. We each make more by pooling our resources and splitting the profit equally – so we get along famously. In today’s Rider Waite Tarot spread, the emphasis is on women, so it’s more about their doing something together than it is about investing. If (in some other spreads) the emphasis is on investing, this joint venture need not be all females.
