LEARN TAROT BY PICTURES
Six of Pentacles ……… He weighs the gold coins so as to pay the workers every dime he owes them, because the value of gold coins is in their weight, not in their face value. So Six of Pentacles is about being fair, about paying and receiving money, about paychecks and expenses. It is also about an exchange of attention or other such things. It can mean ‘give’ or ‘get’ generally to. It’s a justice card (court proceedings, paying fines, paying support through a court, etc.) – a justice card because of the ‘pay fairly’ meaning and also the scales of justice in the illustration. Once in a while it denotes a hand-to-hand transaction.

Ace of Cups …………. Its illustration – which isn’t obvious – covers quite a few meanings, which we use only a few of at the moment. A good way to remember its unrelated meanings is this explanation: The illustration is from Roman Catholic concepts. (In the Middle Ages, with Tarot being considered (as it is today) by churches as ‘the devil’s work’ and witchcraft – for which there was a death penalty then – the deck was modified along Catholic religious lines. It didn’t hurt the meanings any, and may very well have helped, it seems to me as a user of the Rider Waite deck.)
The dove is Holy Spirit; the wafer of Christian Communion ritual is in the dove’s beak. The flows from the fountain come from a then-famous analogy by a saint about a fountain that is filled from beneath and always flowing being a representation of not only available abundance but of a human sending God’s love out like this flowing water via being filled (like the fountain) with Holy Spirit.
THIS is how Ace of Cups comes to mean love; a flow; God; health; benefit and no harm; good (in any sense); agreement, approval and cooperation; ease and easy – and more. Here today, it means love – with a smidgen of cooperation, agreement and approval.

King of Pentacles………. King of Pentacles is an extrovert. Egotistical and flashy sometimes too. He has influence, money, power, charisma, moxie, and he gets noticed as a leader in some fashion. He can be rich – like a lawyer, banker, politician or celebrity – but doesn’t have to. He can be King of the Road, as the song goes.
