Strength….. Her soft touch, along with her sterling character, tame the wild beast through an intimidation of spirit. She has a soothing presence precisely because you would rather be on her side. Just as muggers instinctively avoid the martial artist, predatory entities (bad spirits) avoid the person who is prepared to deal with them. Strength makes the point that if you can deal with a problem, the problem avoids you. Eight of Wands….. enumerates or counts. It means things like many, every, increasingly, one after another, and so on. It also means communication … don’t know why, but it does. Lovers….. is cluttered with meanings, due to its complex illustration. Its basic meanings are contact, connection, together, us/we/them, protection, higher-ups, surveillance, love partner (love anything, really, including love bond and love relationship), partner(s), couple, side by side, one-on-one, ‘on the same page,’ a team or team member, and even ‘united.’ We emphasize its concept of direct contact one-on-one in many of our readings today.
