Tarot Readings for You for February 16, 2014 Sunday©

Guidance      To do, or not to do: That is the question today. We explore our underlying assumptions of feminine and masculine. The feminine principle in metaphysics is awareness, thinking, knowing and being – is receptivity, not being active. The masculine principle in metaphysics is doing and the will to do – activity. The metaphysical concept is not about gender but about whether the role being taken is active or receptive, but its concept reflects the way males and females typically act. We describe real life human scenarios about this, things like “You don’t get anywhere and don’t get anything done just sitting around” and “He deliberately runs to do what she won’t do” and “The reason men pursue women is: If the man isn’t interested, he won’t be doing anything anyway.”

Tarot Readings: The Man Pursues the Woman (High Priestess and Knight of Wands)

He is not interested in pursuing another woman.

He takes her passivity as rejection and initiates pursuit.

He does not flee; he introduces himself to the lady.

The reason men pursue women is: If the man isn’t interested, he won’t be doing anything.

He is one to chase women who are not interested.

He is going too fast so the lady ignores his initiatives.

He drives past and there’s no guy there to do anything; she is alone.

He isn’t speeding because she is the passenger.

He gets it done fast because she says not to.

Tarot Readings: Not Doing (Four of Cups and Magician)

She pursues knowing about it but does not actually do it.

She does not run around doing things; she stays put.

You don’t get anywhere and don’t get anything done just sitting around.

You aren’t doing anything when you are pursuing higher education.

She isn’t in any hurry to do it.

What she doesn’t do, he comes over and does.

He is the one who hurries up and does what she leaves undone.

She knows how but she isn’t in any rush to do that.

Pursuing occult knowledge is not the thing to do.

He isn’t in any hurry to get this done: She can wait.

She knows he isn’t going to get this done expeditiously.

He doesn’t do anything fast; you sit there waiting for him.

She knows not to do it; he is the one who – with great energy – does it.

Tarot Readings: Don’t Just Sit There (Four of Cups and High Priestess)

Don’t sit around – get out and do something!

Hurry up or you won’t put the theory into action.

She is not going to let this man get away.

She gets things done without expending any energy.

She is behind the fast progress but she didn’t do it herself.

Girl, if you just sit there and don’t initiate, he will pursue.

He deliberately runs to do what she won’t do.

When he doesn’t do anything, the lady pursues him.

She makes things happen fast but acts like she didn’t do it.

Higher learning is not for him, he is one to get out and do things.

Now,  Part Two,

Do you want to know a little, or a lot, about how this Tarot Verbatim™ thing works? If so,

*Go to Learn Tarot by Observing section below. This tells about the combined four pictures in the Tarot Readings – the pictures above here.  It explains how these four cards get together in your mind to make the messages.

*Go to Learn Tarot by Pictures.  It is what each of the four cards, by itself, has to say.  It shows you how that illustration makes that card’s meanings in today’s Spread. All the words of each Tarot card reading you see here are a phrase-by-phrase translation of the scene pictured on those cards: no filler, no psychic impressions, no spirit guide. Word-for-word Tarot Verbatim™.

You can put all this together and intuitively see yourself how Tarot Verbatim™ works.

This is a group reading, with no Questioner and no Question to limit what the cards say, so there’s more variety – even contradictions – and also the pronouns are more flexible. If it feels like it’s yours, and it says ‘he,’ and you’re a ‘she,’ feel free to adopt it anyway.

LEARN TAROT BY OBSERVING

High Priestess and Magician High Priestess, esoterically, stands for the feminine principle (being receptive rather than being active on a given plane) and Magician stands for the male principle (action rather than receptivity on a given plane). Magician’s applied meanings are: to do, make, bring about, act, activities, action and being the one who does (whatever). High Priestess’ applied meanings are: to not take action, to know and not act, to possess any deep knowledge, higher education, any area of expertise including spiritual.

In use, the interplay between these two concepts is the somewhat amusing observation that women are prone to understand, think, know, wait, be passive, be less prone to heavy (daring) activity while men are more apt to do without forethought, to act ‘for no reason at all’ and to not understand the import of their actions.

You could also observe that since male hormones are speed (androgen, etc.) while female ones are morphine (endorphin), the male-female relationship is speed to morphine.

So we have a stories of her deliberately not doing something, and him being the one who goes and does it.

Four of Cups and High Priestess   We also have two Rider Waite Tarot cards that mean to be passive and not do anything. Four of Cups is pointedly refusing to do a particular thing, over and over, as the offer or request keeps being made. High Priestess is being in the mode of taking no action about everything generally.

Knight of Wands and Magician… and we have two that do refer to being active. Magician means exactly that: to do, to take action, to bring about. Knight of Wands is to get moving, fast progress, expend energy in the process of some action. So Knight of Wands is active but does not specifically mean ‘do.’

So there’s quite the contrast here about doing versus not doing any particular thing.

High Priestess and Magician in romance. High Priestess also means the other woman and the lady. She waits by the phone and/or is the woman who is ‘too much the lady’ for him in romantic inquiries, often. In romance, Magician is the fellow who calls, who does, who takes initiative … an endangered species these days, the girls report from the field.

Four of Cups and Knight of Wands  You could say Knight of Wands is moving your butt and Four of Cups is sitting on it: once again, activity and non-activity. Knight of Wands means in a hurry, with great energy, to go by (or go to) fast or to speed, to pursue (or flee). Knight of Wands is gung-ho (a Marine). Four of Cups means to refuse, not listen, not accept, disbelieve, to not get through, to not do it but just ‘let it pass.’

= + High Priestess means not doing.  Four of Cups means ‘not’ or ‘refusing to’ and Magician means to do or doing. So they say the same things, things about not doing. This complicated rendering some of the two-card combinations.

LEARN TAROT BY PICTURES

.

Four of Cups One of those ‘it is what it is’ cards in the Rider Waite-Tarot Verbatim ™ system: You don’t have to look at the book to know what it means. Person’s arms are crossed, head and eyes averted, even legs are crossed, as one after another offer is made by the hand in the clouds. Not interested, ain’t gonna, ignoring, it’s not for me – won’t do, isn’t doing, didn’t do …. Like ‘What part of no don’t you understand?’

High Priestess as the feminine principle (in esoteric subject matter) is receptive not active on the physical plane. This is the feminine lady. Her passivity is expressed in such phrases as ‘she is he passenger’ and she doesn’t do, says not do, leaves undone, she can wait, she sits there and she knows not to do. She knows: That is her main theme. She is occult or esoteric knowledge, she is secrets, she is higher learning, she is private, classified and mysterious.

Knight of Wands Another what-you-see-is-what-it-is Rider Waite-Tarot Verbatim ™ citizen. A fellow in armor with a club in one hand and a kind of scared look on his face rides a rearing horse full speed ahead. He is about being in a hurry, pursuing or fleeing, fast progress, speed and speeding. He calls forth phrases like to chase, going too fast, drives past, run around, getting somewhere, when you are pursuing, he comes over, hurries up, in a rush to, expeditiously, do (anything) fast, with great energy, get out and, get away, expending energy, fast progress, deliberately runs, things happen fast, and ‘get out and.’

Magician as the male principle (in esoteric subject matter) is active not receptive on the physical plane. This is the man, sometimes only meaning ‘he.’ He is about will. (In the study of magic, magic is defined as ‘will,’ I understand.) The original creation was an act of will.

His active stance is expressed, in use, in such phrases as initiates, introduces himself, be doing anything, he is the one to, his initiatives, guy there to do anything, he is ___(fill in any active verb)__ing, he gets it done, actually do it, doing things, getting anything done, do it, to do it, does, does what, the thing to do, to get this done, put into action, this man, he will, he deliberately, makes things happen, he is the one to do things. Magician camouflages or goes invisible when it is next to an action card, meaning that, yes, the action spoken of is actually performed.
